Walked In on a busy Sunday night. Got a table for my group of 6. Service was good. Everyone loved what they ordered and I don't think anyone had any leftovers. I would visit again next time I am in the area.

My husband and I stopped by this place on a whim because it smelled so good and the food looked amazing as we passed by on the street. We ordered the queso as an appetizer. It came in a mini cast iron skillet, and almost tasted like beer cheese instead of traditional queso, but it was amazing! The chips seem like they're probably made in-house as well. I ordered the fried Baja tacos and was very impressed! The batter was perfect, but the chipotle sauce was the star of the show! My husband got the burrito and told me he enjoyed it as well! There was a sign at the door saying it was the top rated Mexican restaurant in Mt Prospect and I can understand why! It is a small restaurant, but we were still able to get in on a Friday evening in about 10 minutes. It's very colorful and fun inside, and the service was great. Highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the area!

Mia's is a small but cute Mexican restaurant in Mount Prospect. It has a curbside patio which is where we dined. This is my second trip here and both times I got variations on the skirt steak which is really good. I chose the TAMPIQUENA this time around. This is a cilantro marinated skirt steak served with a cheese enchilada, and covered in mole sauce, black beans, guacamole, grilled onions, and grilled jalapenos. I found the mole to be quite good and the steak was juicy and cooked perfectly. The service was also good, and I will be back to try other dishes. I'd say my only real complaint was the fact that they didn't have a paper menu. It's a scan only menu, and although it's not a problem for me, my girlfriend's phone always has problems with these so we were sharing my phone a bit to decide. I also thought what if someone didn't have a phone or maybe is elderly and didn't know how to work it or have the app? I think that's a little bit of a hassle. I'd also say the salsa is quite bland. I asked the server to bring me something with some more kick - which she did - but I don't think it was salsa. It was more like hot sauce. The chips were very good, but it's time to pair it up with a 5 star salsa. So, barring the menu issue and the salsa, everything else was superb. Good margaritas and very tasty food at Mia's, go check them out!

Mia's Cantina is a family owned restaurant that's loved in the downtown Mt Prospect area!! I had it for my first time yesterday and it did not disappoint. I got the carne asada which came with pico, plantains, and some lettuce. It was definitely tasty but a little too pink/bloody for my tasting. My friends got the mahi mahi tacos and the chicken and steak fajitas, which were all super yummy! We all got frozen margaritas, too, which were easily a 10/10. The only reason I docked a star is the size and wait for the restaurant - they should totally think about expanding the restaurant or moving to a bigger location. They have the customers, just not the space. They also don't take reservations, so for a table of 4 on a Friday night we waited around 35 minutes to be sat. The servers were all so nice and personable, it just took a while for us to get our food. They have a lot of to-go orders, as well. Overall I'd definitely recommend this restaurant and I will be back!

Simple, yet excellent! If you're looking for a step up in your casual Mexican craving, come to Mia's. The chips are fresh and the salsa is good when in house dining. We started our meal with the granadita cocktail - not too sweet and refreshing. My boyfriend ordered the steak burrito dinner. Burrito had a healthy portion of meat which made him happy. He just wished it came with sour cream. Very good otherwise! I had their taco Tuesday special (minimum of 3 tacos). All tacos are double tortilla which I love. I ordered the camaron (shrimp), nortenos (steak with pico), and Baja. The nortenos was my favorite one! It's a step up from just a casual steak taco, but better! I would recommend and return here for business, thank you for a simple, yet delicious dinner!

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! Drinks and food!!!!! Loved every bite! I've never had sweet plantains at a Mexican restaurant, such an enhancement! Can't wait to come back! My husband and I sat outside on a beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, music was on point! Everything was just perfect! We loved the Flaka Margarita and Mojito! My chicken mole was excelled and my husband's steak burrito had to be one of the best since moving to the suburb's!!! Can't wait to return for another afternoon delight!

We enjoyed ourselves. This was the first time we have visited. We wanted to try something new that was close. The inside dining was nicer than I had expected from the photos posted on here. They have QR codes for the menu's. The service was good. We had a gentleman and he was very quick and attentive to us. I got a Steak Burrito Suizo. It was very good, they forgot that I asked for extra rice instead of beans but promptly brought it right out with no questions. My guest got the vegetarian tacos. We both enjoyed our meals. We shared an order of quac, plenty for both of us with extra for our meals. The cantina salsa was also my favorite kind especially with the fresh salted chips. We enjoyed ourselves!

We had reservations for 9pm and were able to be seated straight away. We arrived to find the address brought us to a barber shop. Fortunately, my husband had done some research and knew the drill--we made our way to a organ against a brick looking wall. On top of the organ was a bell--we rang the bell and shortly after the brick wall swung open and a woman came out to greet us. She had us play a tune on the organ and then brought us back into the speakeasy. The vibes are pitch perfect. Dimly lit with candles on tables and artful films playing on screens. We loved it. We were greeted straight away and brought water. You can also get a full meal here which we did not know but noted for our next visit. They had a special Valentine's menu as well as their regular cocktail menu. For my first cocktail, I got the paper plane which was light, lemony, and lovely with the adorable touch of a small paper plane pinned to the cocktail with a clothespin. For my second, I got one of their Valentine's specials which was essentially a Boulevardier made with a small float of mezcal on top. What an amazing addition to this classic cocktail! Truly, gave it added dimension, depth, and smoky flavor. I loved it. We also enjoyed their Valentine's dessert special, which was princess cake. It was a lovely blend of tart raspberry and warm almond--we loved it! The service was lovely throughout our experience. Get to it!

The hostess appeared wearing a blue-and-white striped sweater hanging off one shoulder like she'd stepped out of an Italian perfume commercial. Around her neck was one of those little cornicello pepper necklaces, dangling just enough to suggest fate had finally decided to throw me a bone. Blue eyes. Not "blue." The kind of blue sailors used to abandon families over. She laughed at one of my jokes. That was all the encouragement my diseased brain required. I immediately conducted a full tactical assessment of the restaurant. The P.O.A. Index... ...was approaching DEFCON 1. Every direction I looked was another devastatingly attractive waitress carrying Aperol Spritzes with effortless confidence. It was like wandering into a government-funded supermodel relocation program. Then... A shadow fell across the table. A man. Our waiter was a man. Christ Almighty. The emotional whiplash nearly snapped my neck. It's like going to the zoo hoping to see lions and discovering the enclosure has been replaced with an accountant named Kevin. There are beautiful women everywhere, and somehow I'm discussing pasta recommendations with a guy who probably knows three different olive oils by taste. Cruel. Absolutely cruel. To his credit, the b@5tard was outstanding. Friendly. Fast. Knew the menu inside and out. Kept the drinks full. Never interrupted. The s.o.b. gave me absolutely nothing to complain about, which only deepened my resentment. The food, meanwhile, was infuriatingly good. The pizzas arrived looking like they'd been blessed by an Italian grandmother carrying unresolved anger from 1947. Thin crust. Fresh mozzarella. Just enough char to remind you that ovens are supposed to flirt with fire, not electricity. The pasta had that unmistakable handmade texture that makes Olive Garden feel like a felony. The cocktails disappeared with alarming speed. By my third Negroni, I was convinced I could hear Dean Martin narrating my life. Walking out, I glanced back toward the hostess one last time. She smiled. For approximately three seconds I considered abandoning my entire life to become a part-time sommelier with absolutely no qualifications. Then reality returned. The male waiter handed me the check. Four stars. The food was phenomenal. The cocktails were dangerous. The hostess should be classified as an Italian national treasure. And our waiter deserves a raise... despite committing the unforgivable crime of existing between me and the waitresses.

Inside is a soaring converted church, and the first ten seconds are impressive. The tradeoff is exactly what those bones promise: it echoes, and it gets loud. Plenty of space beyond the main dining room too, with offshoot rooms they use for private parties and events. **Service** Our server ran the table like it was a chain casual spot, which isn't what this room calls for. Pushy pace, back every two minutes clearing plates we were still eating from, no sense of letting the meal breathe. It doesn't need to be steakhouse formal. It just needs to slow down and match the setting. Credit where due, they brought out a sparkler for the birthday, which always lands. **Food & Drink** - **Chicken Shawarma Rolls** -- excellent. Phyllo, cabbage, red peppers, mozzarella, spicy garlic aioli. Best thing we ate. - **Appetizers overall** -- consistently good, clearly the kitchen's strength. - **Raw bar** -- oysters, crudos, poke bowls, towers. Looks like the real move here. Going that direction next time. - **Halo Del Santo** -- spot on. Reposado, guava, coconut liqueur, lemon, tajín rim. Cocktails across the board were perfectly made. - **Steak** -- fine. Average. The mains were the weakest part of the menu, which stings at this price point. - **Banana sticky toffee pudding** -- I've had amazing versions. Although the restaurant was not filled to capacity, it was bustling with many families celebrating Father's Day, creating a festive vibe. It's the first time that we met the owner, Daniella, who's so warm and welcoming. She invited us to choose from available tables in three different dining areas. We selected the table right by the lounge that had a large TV, homey décor, couch and cocktail table. It was also right by the big window overlooking the small and charming front patio. Our server, Chis, was very friendly, pleasant, and attentive. I ordered a Lemonade ($3), my husband and daughter each enjoyed a glass of Mer Soliel Reserve Chardonnay (2 for $26). We shared a Grilled Octopus ($22) which was cooked to perfection. The warm, lightly charred pita points paired well with the creamy and tasty beet hummus. I had a Slow Roasted Lamb Shank ($39) which was tender and full of flavors. It was a very generous portion that I shared a big piece with my husband; and still had leftovers to take home. It made a delicious lamb sandwich for my next lunch. My husband liked his Spiked White Fish ($29) so much last time that he ordered it again. Our daughter enjoyed her order of Rigatoni Sausage ($23), another generously portioned dish that she couldn't quite finish. By the end of the meal, we were too full for individual desserts, so we shared a Crème Brûlée ($8), which was the perfect sweet ending. All in all, it was a wonderful dinner. With consistent delicious dishes, warm hospitality, comfortable seating, and a convenient location, we will definitely be back again.
