Walk up order service allows you to kinda gauge how busy they are while you decide what you want, but sometimes leads to lack of seating being available. There is plenty of parking however. They are practically the weekend post little league/soccer/football team hang out. Tons of families and plenty of tv's. It's a neighborhood type feel. Local schools have banners everywhere and kids are running around. The food is solid. That's the best way to describe everything. Been here plenty of times and still don't have a favor sit something. Nothing is bad by any means, but it's menu is old school fried mixed with a couple lighter options. Really can't go wrong with any order here. read more

Small group of three of us needed a place to sit down and eat and talk. Britt pulled up the menu to Mia's and it sounded good so gave it a try. Interesting concept. You walk in and order at the counter and then go grab a table with a transponder and your food finds you. You grab your drinks as you order. Accepting the challenge since I was entertaining a key customer and a division manager from my largest dealer I order a "tri appetizer" to come out first and then our meals. The appetizer had wings, onion rings and fried pickles. It was delicious and to my great surprise with this format it was brought out first and extremely timely. Shocked and it was delicious. I had the Asian Salad with Salmon, there was a cheeseburger with fries and meatloaf with potatoes and gravy and a side of banana pudding. They also had "real" bottled Dr Pepper with cane sugar and was clean unlike the typical mess they try to pawn off as Dr Pepper. They also have an ice cream machine with vanilla ice cream on the way out the door. Yea I hit that! No shame I had the salad. The food found us and looked and tasted very good. Since all the plates were cleaned I would say it was all very good. Plenty of parking around the building and in the parking lots. Unique decor, bright, retro, and a playground type structure outside. Only complaint were refills. I tipped expecting this to be like the typical Texas bbq place format where someone is walking around topping off drinks. Not here. The folks are strictly bringing food and bussing tables. Parking is good! There is a full lot in the front and back and it is right next to the Kirby Ice House. Service was fast and they delivered it to the table and cleaned it up. The interior was a typical diner. It had checkered patterned tablecloths, diner decorations, etc. I ordered the Bison burger. It was pretty good but i couldn't finish it on my own. After having a doctors visit, we wanted good food but wanted to take it home. Was really pleased to find that Mia's Table has curbside service. We ordered online, they brought our food to the car and we were on our way. The steaks were perfect - tender and cooked just as we ordered. The only problem? How do I rank this place... it's better than Luby's (RIP to some of our Houston locations), if you want some southern style comfort food! This place is great for groups and your family! I feel like this place is the perfect brunch/go-to for any Sunday after church eating group/crowd. Mia's Table is constantly packed, and they offer some great quality food to you and your family! Let's hit some highlights on the food. Some of the items that I've had are: -Chicken Fried Chicken: man oh man... so good! Just as we thought would be on there for sure. -Cheeseburger: a pretty decent burger for the meat being half pound ground brisket! -Fried Shrimp and Catfish: not too bad for fried seafood, definitely other places to go get better, but if you want to get it here, then go for it! What better way to finish the end of your meal than to go eat some vanilla soft serve ice cream! Free for everyone and it's so good! Come on by! I really liked the location and the service. It was very speedy, despite the long lines. The place was clean, including the restrooms - although one sink wasn't working for whatever reason. Food. The food was actually good except for one thing - my food tasted wonderful, but it got cold so quickly. It tasted kinda lukewarm, but I didn't want to be that person sending it back. Had I known how cold it was going to get I would have. Thankfully, no one at my table of four had the same experience I did and I didn't want to make them feel delayed as to when we could all eat as a group. It makes me think that my meal was someone else's forgotten meal or to go order, and the other person whose food was delayed got a piping hot meal. At least that's my theory. Otherwise, I don't know why everyone else's meal was served hot and ready to be eaten. I plan on coming back and seeing if that oddity happens again. I feel like it was some weird error as everyone else had a great time and enjoyed their meal. My meal was delicious, cold but delicious, which is why I am open to giving them another shot. If you're curious, I ordered the red snapper tacos. My husband had the hickory burger and he had no complaints. I hope to be able to update this review in the future, but I'm also open to the idea this is a frequent problem. Pleasantly surprised going here for the first time. Normally I dislike places you have to order at the counter but the ordering was easy, the food was super tasty. We ordered the buffalo wings as an appetizer today. Normally it is always crispy and has the perfect amount of buffalo sauce. However today the wings came out lukewarm and almost cold, and the wings were submerged in sauce. I wanted to return the buffalo wings, but my son had ate 3 of the 8 wings when I came back to the table after washing my hands. I asked a server if I could speak to manager. A Hispanic man came to our table and said he was the manager. I informed him of the problem. According to the manager, that is their new recipe for the Buffalo Wings and it came down from the restaurant owner himself so nothing can be done. The manager left our table without any resolution. So avoid ordering the Buffalo Wings, it's not as good as it used to be. read more

Brought my parents in, and my father asked the nice lady at the front if he could substitute one of his two sides for a side salad with no up-charge. She said yes, and said there would be no up-charge. Just a possible miscommunication, but we were charged an extra $5. I've never been a fan of auctioning off food, I understand I'm not in a high end restaurant, but cmon. Quickly barking out entree names and seeming annoyed when people get confused is the worst way to do it. The entrees came out with about 4 people, each with one dish in their hand swarming our table. Felt weird. We brought up the unwanted up-charge with the manager who stopped by to check in. He proceeds to say he will go talk with the cashier to "figure out the problem". He never returned. Weird note to leave off on by a manager. No effort was put to even explain the miscommunication. Last thing I promise- multiple chicken (?) bones in my fiancés burger patty? Never had that happen before! Shocking to have a hard crunch in a beef burger. Towards the second half of her burger she has to spit it out because it tasted "burnt". I had a bite and it was disgusting! Not even badly burnt. It had the bitterness of straight coal... Maybe I am only nitpicking. Maybe I am just off-put that the MOD did not seem to want to display any sort of hospitality, which in turn, is highlighting everything bad about our meal. read more

For the Gessner Street location (Memorial branch), the food entrees have been consistently good and excellent service was provided from the female staff that we encountered during our lunch. Great place for lunch with an extensive menu. I ordered the nachos with ground taco meat, queso, pica de gallo, and pickled jalapeños and also ordered the fried chicken strips. They have great ice tea and provide both lemons and limes. Service was fast and courteous. But it is PACKED at lunch so come early and avoid the crowds and come late. While I had visited the original location and I enjoyed my meal, this location is much closer to me. The chicken fried steak here was good... but the gravy was on the salty side. I was served barely warm mac and cheese, and the portion didn't fill up the bowl. I ended up having it remade. Even then, it wasn't the best. Portions and selection here are huge. You receive a buzzer and choose your dining table. I ordered the chicken tacos, which came with a (large) side of chips and queso. Though they were small, the soft tacos packed a mighty punch. The salsa and slightly spicy queso made for a flavorful meal. The menu showed an enlarged photo of a decadent chocolate chip cookie, so I was convinced I had to taste it. Attached is a photo of the sad cookie that arrived--it was smaller than it looks. There is a soft serve ice cream dispenser for kids of "all ages." We called ahead and spoke to Yesi, requesting a reserved table for nine since we had a guest with us. For starters, we ordered the Triple Play, which includes wings, onion rings, and fried pickles, along with Dee Dee's Queso Dip and tortilla chips. For the main course, we had a variety of dishes. The pork chops, though a bit tough, seemed smaller than the advertised six ounces and lacked flavor. The bacon burger was enjoyable, the fried shrimp were tasty, and the turkey burger was good with all the toppings. The kids opted for macaroni and cheese and chicken tenders, which would have been even better with some gravy. Unfortunately, the ice cream machine was down for the day, which was a disappointment. Trying to get children to eat and having it run our after you promised them if they ate all their food they'd get a treat did not happen until i got them home,bathing, and eating ice cream in the tub. Delicious, I have been to multiple Mia's in Texas. Not once have I been disappointed, today we had a curbside pickup and they actually gave us more food than ordered. I actually tried the taco salad and it was absolutely amazing. My Sisterfriends ordered the shrimp tacos, onion rings, fried pickles, and shrimp combo. Everything was fresh and tasteful. Good, wholesome, quality food in a fun, relaxed environment with phenomenal customer service. They don't worry about all the unimportant things that can overshadow taste. I do wish that the mac & cheese portion was a little bigger for $4, and that the fried pickles had a little more breading to them. When I went to the opening of the original I was underwhelmed by the chicken tenders, but since I have been back several times to the Gessner and the original locations I have become a fan. Most of the menu items are hearty, stick to your bone items like chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, or burgers. There are some salads on the lighter side. I am normally not a chicken fried steak enthusiast, but holy moly this one is amazing! The Jalapeno gravy is awesome! I am definitely going to put this on the regular rotation. read more
