Ordered the jalea and lomo saltado and they were full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and came with a lot of huacatay sauce. My wife ordered the tallarin saltado and she loved it too. The server that attended us, however, didn't know what she was doing. She kept on having to repeat our orders back to us because she kept inputting wrong on her machine. I would really like to recommend this tiny little spot tucked away here in RANCHO. This place has a great menu with lots to offer, great atmosphere and a good beer selection. I like that their menu is separated by their proteins (seafood, chicken, beef and vegetarian). I've been here plenty of times throughout the year. It's a hit or miss with the servers and the customer service. Honestly just writing a review bc the service is the worst it's been and it comes down to the servers. Over the times I've been here (2/3x a month) I call ahead to make sure they have the family chicken meal for my KIDS. We normally go on sundays after I get off work. Never had an issue with ordering ahead since they've suggested it and said when I get to the restaurant we can order the rest with our family. Suddenly it became an issue to a sever- tall, dark, and male. He said they couldn't bring the chicken and the two sides on plates, It had to be in to go boxes inside the restaurant!! I explained we've done this and never had an issue! If anything it makes them look bad to have to eat out of to go boxes- Had I been petty I would've just ordered the whole meal there with the rest of our order and never "picked up" the food I called in advance! It was just disappointing to deal with this man's mood swings. He was bothered with the people ahead of us as well... the couple with children asked for a specific table and this man acted like he wasn't at work and it inconvenience him. Having never been to Peru I'm not sure what to compare this food with. My wife and I have visited other Peruvian restaurants in the IE and though the menu stays basically the same the quality of the Ingredients seems to be what separates the mediocre from the good. Micas falls in to the good category. Most meals that contain beef or chicken are usually combined with a spaghetti pasta or fries. Arroz Chaufa or Lomo Saltado seem to be the most popular plates. I've had moth and both are excellent. All are delicious. But let's get to the real reason for this review. Anyone from around here is very familiar with ceviche. We've all had it at restaurants, family gatherings and at your comadres house and everywhere makes it different. Peruvian ceviche is a different world. Made with thick cuts if white fish this is drenched in a milky sauce called leche de Tigre. Tigers milk for those who don't speak Peruvian. This milky white concoction is so good it could be bottled and sold on it's own. The ceviche is usually accompanied by sweet potato some corn and and toasted corn nuts. It all works perfect together. Everything is good but don't leave Mica's without trying the ceviche. Definitely Recommend. read more

You walk in from an otherwise sunny Rancho Cucamonga day outside and the ambiance hits you like a warp tunnel to another country: dark interiors, plants everywhere, South American music, Christmas lights and tons of Peruvian sodas on display near a rustic chalkboard menu. I'm obsessed with their fried rice (Chaufa). It's plain and simply DELECTABLE. You can get it in steak, chicken or veggie. My photo is of the Veggie. And they don't just throw the frozen carrot and pea medley at you like we Asians do with fried rice, it's lots of amazing freshly sliced veggies (scallions, carrots, zucchini, cauliflower, red onions) Their fried plantains (3-4 index finger sized pieces for $2) are made to perfection. And lastly, their Aji De Gallina (Peruvian Spicy Creamed Chicken) is something that I would never order due to its mushy indistinguishable appearance. However, my friends treated me to this in the form of takeout at their home and it was WOW. It looks like curry, tastes nothing like curry. Service leaves something to be desired but I didn't really mind. It wasn't a bad attitude, just wasn't very attentive. As we're here sitting down, we noticed the employees are extremely rushed and you can't get a conversation in with them, about the silliest things like asking for more napkins or anything.... THE DRINKS: there's something wrong with the fountain drinks, the "Coca Cola" taste like coke from Mexico, PURE SYRUP. We had it sent back. We asked for a sprite it taste like A bootleg version of Sierra Mist. My wife's food came like 20 min after mine, by the time I started to eat with her my food was beyond cold. The fries in the Lomo Saltado were so Stale and old tasting , the second the plate hit the table I tried the fries, COLD AND STALE as can be. I probably won't be returning, the employees need to work on their service, above everything, instead of huddling around the bar just talking. read more

My husband and I went to mica's last night, what a disappointment, I ordered fideos with huancaina and roast beef on the side but the meat came with a tomato sauce that changed the taste with the huancaina sauce which didn't have a good flavor it was missing something, my husband ordered half of a rotisserie chicken which didn't have any flavor. The waitress never came to ask if everything was alright, didn't ask if we needed something else to drink. I've given this place a second chance to shine but it hasn't changed at all. Absolutely delicious! When you walk in the vibes are just right, staff is kind and attentive, great music playing, modern interior, and delicious food. I order grilled chicken con papas fritas, y plátanos, everything was on point. They serve an appetizer of bread with butter & ají and the bread is so warm and the ají (salsa/sauce) is by far my favorite! It's slightly spicy as ají typically is but with a soft cream flavor substance that makes it tastes so delicious! I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! Two groups came after I was waiting and they ate and left before I got my food. The service staff pretended I wasnt there. GO ELSEWHERE. I've been coming to Mica's for a while, however this last time was not great experience! As you can see in the pictures the salad was old and moldy and the calamari was several days old. I called and talked to one if the servers, to resolve the situation and I asked to talk to manager or supervisor - her name is Stephanie. According the the server, Stephanie was "busy" . Never came to the phone. I know things happen, but take ownership on the quality of your food and take care of your customers. The food quality has dropped. Never going there again. Don't send one of your servers to handle situations that your paid to do.. Stephanie you were obviously not busy enough to tell your server what tell me.. Mica's is one of the best Peruvian restaurants in the Inland Empire. Whenever I am near Rancho Cucamonga for dinner, Mica's is a must. They start you off with warm rolls and some spicy Aji (creamy green deceivingly spicy salsa). I have to admit the food is always great but expect a lack of customer service, prices continue to go up and still seeking a tip. No one checked up on us. I had to stop them several times to get their attention for a referral on my water. Even then they forgot to bring it back out until they asked me if I was ok. To be honest I shouldn't have left a tip from the moment we walked in the door we didnt get proper service. They sat us in the booth and cleaned over us, we didnt mind waiting till they were done cleaning. First time there. Went there for dinner. Got there about 5:45. Seated right away. Lomo salta do was delicious. However we had a problem with the service. We were a party of 3. We got two of the dinners however, my daughter did not get her plate. At first it was no big deal, but then 15 mins later I asked about her plate and was told it's coming. Another 25 mins later we asked another waiter and he went to check on it. By this time we were almost finished with the food and my daughter went up and told them to cancel the order. She ate from our plates. We asked for a box and even that took 20 mins to get. The place was full, but was not extremely busy. The waiter/management never came by to address this. Came here last night with my family for family dinner night out! It's definitely off the beaten path but it's worth it to stop and try. I would have given a five star review but two of the items I ordered they had ran out of! The two items were rotisserie chicken and empanadas! I love Peruvian rotisserie chicken so I was a little disappointed they were out. We ended up ordering the yucca appetizer which was delicious and I ordered a dish with steak tomatoes and onions with a side of Peruvian beans and salad, it was fantastic. I also ordered the chaffa which is chicken fried rice that was by far my favorite dish out of all of them! Especially with the delicious Aji sauce on top! Finally Terri whom I was speaking to and is a manager , calls someone and apparently they did not have my email and said refund was processed . I asked her who she called , she said Theresa the owner . I asked her why did they act like they had no idea who Theresa was , she said oh she goes by Maria , she has two names ! ‍ So I wrote email address down for them and again receipt of refund will be emailed, 3 days later no email, no refund . I call last night , manager gone , I call this afternoon manager just left and no one I can speak with ! Absolutely frustrating! Beyond dissatisfied with their lack of customer service . Beware , they do not stand by customer satisfaction! This all stems from their employee not packing order correctly , which although bugged , I understand we're human and mistakes happen ! First time here was amazing and definitely coming back, soon. Music, atmosphere and service were great. Spoiler alert-full belly and so inexpensive! Say whaaaat. Had the half chicken, salad and plantains. Scrumptious! Before I started the meal, had a fresh roll, butter and some special dipping sauce? I suppose for the bread-ha ha ha because that's what I did. Amazing-flavorful and just enough spiciness-naturally good. (Kept the sauce to dip chicken in later-ha ha). The chicken was perfectly done, smelled incredible and a taste to match. So yum. Chicken was moist and literally fell of the bone. Not dark meat person, but wings and drumsticks were superb. Had to stop lapping the bones. Plaintains were perfect and naturally sweet. Salad with arugula and blend was good mix with house dressing that was plentiful (on the side; used only 1/2). Had to stop myself from licking the plate. Cool little feature: waitress has iPad with her and takes the order and can cash you out at end of meal. Fast. Thank you for the delectable food and great service. Their food Is good but personally if Gordon Ramsay was here or any food critic for that matter they would have cussed up a storm and stormed out. Me well I will just write this review. It all started with my wife and my 2 daughters and myself. I requested a high chair and never got one so I had to search through the dirty high chairs in which a few of them had broken belts and were a danger to my daughter so I had to go hunt for another one. 25 minutes past and noone at the table or here to help. That was fine but sat with 3 people at the table and was brought 3 pieces of bread when asking for and 3rd piece I was told that will be a dollar extra. I am like okay. I can deal with that. Still not exactly feeling good right about now My food was good and my daughters was good. My wife's was cold and the meat was dry. Both my daughter and my wife ordered the Pollo Solatdo. I mentioned to a young man who passed the table the food was cold and dry and then never was followed up on. I was trying to be kind and patient.
