I had the chipotle chicken sandwich and added some hot sauce for my personal preference (they have a large selection of hot sauces!) Portions are fairly generous. My daughter had the chicken Caesar wrap and didn't finish it. When we went to ask for a Togo container they offered to take the leftovers and wrap and bag them for us. Kudos to that! Popped in for a quick lunch just before noon. Had checked the menu online before coming so we're prepared to order. Several people behind the counter working, all friendly and working quickly. Not too busy yet but once we were seated people started coming in. It's a busy area so a lot of people had preordered lunch to pick up. We got our own drinks from the fountain and sat down until our salads were brought to our table. I had ordered a daily special salad with caramelized walnuts, apples, blue cheese and tender pieces of chicken breast which was warm. This was served over mixed green lettuce. The only thing I would have rather had the dressing on the side, it was very sweet and had been tossed in it so there was quite a lot of it. Otherwise the flavors were good and I enjoyed the salad. My friend got a trio of egg salad, tuna salad and chicken salad but didn't want egg so they gave her extra chicken salad. Her dressing came on the side. We were given small rounds of very toasty bread on the side which was ok. The restroom was gender neutral and clean. They decorate the walls with sport themed lithographs. We can in around 11 am on a Wednesday and they were a little busy, but we watched it get busier the closer it came to lunch hour. The hustle and friendliness of the employees continued throughout our visit. It's a little small on the inside, but enough room for a few people to eat their meals, but not large enough for a party of 6 or more. I was aware they had breakfast burritos here and decide to ask if they have pancakes and it turns out they do! The kids were so happy. The pancakes were not on the menu online, nor were they on the board inside the deli. I don't recall the exact price but I remembered thinking it was reasonable. You could get a stack of 3, or 5. Great service without the hustle and bustle of your typical breakfast joint (probably because most people would only think to come to a Deli at lunchtime). The chorizo burrito was delicious but I did feel like it needed a salsa-- not from a flavor perspective but rather to balance out the textures. The cheese (cotija perhaps?) and buttery potatoes were perfectly paired with the chorizo. The tortilla was griddled in a panini press which was a really cool twist. Looking forward to coming again! Formerly a Subway location and you can tell by the look. Same layout but not the same feel. It has a more locally owned feel and less of a sterile corporate sandwich shop. MIchael's has become my go to favorite sandwich shop in town for a work a day breakfast and lunch. The guys who work there are excellent at what they do, every time I go in the sandwich is made great and the breakfasts are QUALITY. The menu is loaded with lots of variety and choices from salads to triple decker sandwiches to stacked sandwiches. With a regular rotation of daily specials that are hard to pass up. Every day they post something on Facebook letting people know what the specials of the day are. One of the other nice things about Michael's is they have good morning hours and plentiful parking to get a truck in and out of. read more

I love this place. Love love love it. It's a small quaint place and pretty popular. They are fast and efficient, so if you have a short lunch break and there's a long line, it moves really quickly. They make all their food from scratch...salad dressings, egg/chicken/potato salads, soups...sweet treats. Their salads are huge and delicious. Sandwiches are wraps are amazing. They also serve breakfast. The only downside is they aren't open for dinner too! Just for breakfast and lunch. All the staff and really friendly and remember you if you start to frequent their place. I try to eat here at least once every couple weeks. It was the best deli in Reno in my eyes. The staff is always very friendly and every item on the menu I have tried is great as well. I truly love the Sonoma chicken pasta and their specials each day are not only excellent but also affordable. As of Aug 9, only open for a couple weeks, you need to stop in at this location as there is also one downtown. Occupying the old Subway location this is the 2nd location of Michael's Deli. I am really happy a friend shared about this place because their sandwiches look fantastic! I ordered the triple decker hot pastrami and corned beef and boy was I pleasantly pleased with how big the sandwich is. It's huge! While I tried to consume the triple decker it turned into a triple layer of bread, meat and wonderful goodness. Oh yeah the bread was soft and fresh. A must in my opinion. They had several delicious options for side salads. I chose the potato salad and wow what flavor. Just like mama used to make. I opted for a larger size than the regular side dish. Lots of other choices from pasta, to antipasto, to fruit salad made this a tough decision. The potato salad had good seasoning so as to not need any additional. Nearly 20 other kinds of salads from Cobb, Caesar to other gourmet favorites. You have to just go with what you want. You can choose from fountain drinks to a case full of other beverage options. The sandwich ended up being too big to finish and if you do just drop me a note to say "I did it!!" Wow just a lot of food at an excellent value. Michaels has been a long standing Reno sandwich shop, they opened a location in South Meadows but don't be fooled, they may use the Michael's Deli name but they are not the same caliber. Breakfast ends at 10:30, If it is 1031, breakfast is instantly no longer available for no apparent reason other than entitlement. Don't bother calling ahead either, they behave as if it's the customers privilege to get sandwiches from them. There are plenty of locally owned sandwich places in town that eagerly earn your business, and there's an excellent taqueria down the street the makes real breakfast burritos at the same price. It's a real shame that they have the Michael's Deli name on this establishment. If you like to endorse lackadaisical attitudes and pretentious customer service, this place is for you read more

I wanted to enjoy this place, but for the prices, I would just go to the other expensive sandwich place Jersey Mikes and get more for your buck. Came here for a quick lunch date and it was perfect. The family running this spot is a well oiled machine churning out salads, sandwiches, paninis, and gyros real quick. It's something you have to do at this new location since it's in between a bunch of business offices. We had 45 minutes to grab a bite and we managed to make that happen in 30 which was comforting. I LOVE a good sandwich spot and am so happy that Michael's Deli opened a location in South Reno! I love most of the other spots around South Reno but am always looking for another option and being a fan of Michael's, I couldn't be happier. On our visit, they were nicely staffed and everyone appeared happy to be there which translated to their service. They answered our questions as we had them, walked us though some menu items and once ordered, the food was ready in just a few minutes. Once we were done, my wife had half of her wrap leftover so I asked for a box. They asked me to bring it to them where they wrapped it for me which I really appreciated. I had the Pastrami and Turkey on Rye with a side of Potato Salad. Beautifully crafted sandwich, fresh ingredients, and a potato salad that I will always order from now on. Don't skip out on it, trust me if you like a good potato salad. My wife had the Chicken Caesar Wrap which was huge and outstanding.
