My Italian beef sandwich was not an Italian beef sandwich. I was served a French dip with a side of brown water, not au jus. The French dip featured two thinly sliced strips of meat. There's supposed to be cheese on the sandwich, but none to be seen. The Sports Deli is a convenient place to grab a bite and as locals with a Peppermill Passport Rewards Club card, we get a 20% discount. We often get a 12-inch Astroturf to share because it is huge and yummy! It comes with roasted portobello mushrooms, avocado, roasted red peppers, black olives, red onion, and cheddar and jack cheeses. There are extras you can add to sandwich orders like mayo, tomato, lettuce, onion, oil and vinegar, etc. and we always ask for everything minus the mayo. You have an option to have it toasted and we like it like that because the cheese gets nice and melty. There are a variety of bread options to choose from and this time we went with a jalapeño cheddar roll. Everything about our order was on point - so fresh and delicious. We also got a fruit tart which I am guessing was prepared by the same "award-winning pastry team" that Peppermill's Biscotti's Café boasts of because it was fabulous! I arrived at the Peppermill to check in for a work trip. I'm not a gambler but had to walk through the casino to find some food. This spot was fairly close to the front desk and had some easy menu options. I ordered the Wrigley Field Dog. The price was reasonable and the portion was a good size (see the photo). This was a pretty decent hotdog. The presentation was great and the service was great too. I have to say I've never seen relish that shade of green. If I had to name it, I would say kryptonite green. Still everything was very tasty and I almost ordered a second one. The seating area is a decent size and was very clean. It's a non-smoking area but you're in the casino area, so despite the signs the smoke seems to waft it's way over a little bit. Plenty of TV screens all around you, so you have a choice of a few different sports programs. We were at hot August nights and stopped here to grab something to eat. The sandwich come without condiments and they ask you what condiments you would like. The Deli is located on the casino floor and is not a separate building so if you don't like smoke you might want to get your order togo. The sandwiches are huge and a large generally runs about $10.50. We tried the number three which was corned beef, pastrami, swiss cheese and cole slaw inside rye bread. The sammie was yummilicious and made us want to order more! We also tried a coconut cream mini pie for $5. The pie was just as good as the sammie!
