This place is a gem ! If you haven't been to this cafe and you live in pompano beach , you are missing out . Try their fresh orange juice and thank me later . Amazing staff , food ( yummmy in my tummy )

Trying new breakfast places around town and Michaels was on our list. The parking was easy in the lot. It is a small building but they had indoor and outdoor seating along with a counter. It was busy, but we did get a table for two inside immediately along with a good cup of coffee. I ordered eggs Benedict and grits. I really enjoyed the Benedict as the hollandaise sauce is always the star. Our server was pleasant and I was happy when she automatically asked if i wanted my english muffin toasted well. (I hate when it is soggy :-). The grits were very tasty too. It was a little bit of a drive for us from Pompano, but I will return for the eggs Benedict when we are in the area. They were worth it!!

Went here for a quick breakfast. Saw so many reviews and had to try. The pancakes and the service were the best part of the meal. The rest was very basic and dry. Small restaurant but very welcoming but I paid too much for this meal I didn't enjoy all to much.

10/18/24 It's be awhile since we have been to Michael's Cafe. We just haven't been in the area. Well, today, 10/18/24, we stopped by and it was like old times. The interior was the same, with additional seating outside. My wife had a delicious Crepe, while I had eggs, bacon, toast, grits, and coffee. Everything tasted great Our Server, Charlie, was a great guy and very amiable. He helped us catch up with years gone by, and we appreciated his efforts. So, if you are reading this review, stop in for a nice breakfast, in a quiet setting. You will be glad you did.

I have visited Michael's several times through the years and it only gets better. Located in a small shopping center at the corner of 62nd Street and Federal in Fort Lauderdale, it's in a perfect spot for people who like quick and delicious diner food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is quaint and the service is superb. Immediately our server asked where we would like to sit, gave us menus and asked for our drink order. Our drinks came out in an instant. Though the iced tea is unsweetened (being from the south, all tea is sugary sweet), it has a very fresh flavor. My boyfriend ordered the Parisian crepe with a fruit cup and I ordered the tuna on toasted sourdough bread Beware, don't expect this to be a snack. We were so full from a late lunch at 2; we hardly had any dinner. Both entrees were absolutely delicious. Something new since I visited is the fact they serve mimosas, bloody marys and other drinks. What a fun addition to your omelette! I know where we'll be next weekend.

Cold, bland, undercooked. Waste of money

Easily the worst breakfast food. Ordered their farmers breakfast and the cheese literally isn't even melted, food is bland and cold and barely cooked. This is $15??? Absolutely not. What a waste of money

A must try place if you live by the area. Space is comfy, not too big so if you go during peak breakfast hours, expect a wait or be okay sitting at the bar. Very homey place and servers are attentive. The food was great, we had the nutella french toast and the smoked egg Benedict, coffee could have been stronger but overall we left satisfied!

This diner like small cafe is a place I've driven by a million times. It's located facing a busy traffic corner -- on the south west side of 62nd and federal highway. There's parking out front. We had great and accommodating service -- but there was only one other table occupied when we were there for lunch. They have a breakfast and lunch menu plus some "written on the board" specials. Although normally only for the weekends, he said they had some "soup of the day" (tomato bisque) still left, so they could do their half sandwich and soup lunch deal. That's what my husband opted to get -- a half tuna salad sandwich and bisque. The bread was a bit burnt, but there was a lot of lettuce and enough tuna on the sandwich. The bisque was quite thick. Acceptable, but just okay. I'd ordered their shrimp and grits. It came in a huge bowl. The creamy grits were topped with a half dozen shrimp, cheese, and a tomato sauce. It was quite a large portion. I ate the shrimp and took most of the grits home (I had some later with breakfast the next day). It was good, but a bit bland probably because I'd asked for it "mild". I really should have added some hot sauce to pep it up. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like we should have come here for breakfast instead of lunch, but it was still a decent solid experience. My meal choice was better than his choice. Just nothing super-duper spectacular.

    This is the place.

Five minutes go by and we see an entirely different party being seated in the seats that we were advised were for my party. Staffers apologized and seated us right away in another area, cool beans no problem. While waiting for the waiter it took almost 10min for us to be acknowledged. Once acknowledged we were provided waters for the tables. The waiter then goes missing for another 10-15mins. He's walking around as if he doesn't have a clue what's going on (big black guy, did not get his name). We finally order our food and it takes an additional 45-50min to get our food. When everyone's food came out my food was totally forgotten about and the waiter asked "did I get my food?", clearly not dude. When my food finally arrived I clearly lost my appetite with all that went on and the way my Benedict was slipped together I could have fed it to a group of pigs. Safe to say my experience was a nightmare here and I will never return nor anyone that I know. Nice concept but it's located in a terrible location. Service, food and hospitality needs work.

The line was insanely long, but we got lucky and snagged seats at the bar as soon as a group left. My only advice is to come prepared for a wait, because this place is clearly popular for a reason!

As titanium Marriott bonvoy members, we received a breakfast voucher each morning of our stay, which is good for your choice of coffee or orange juice and an entree from a select menu (see pics). I found the select menu to have many great options. I had the "smothered burrito" which was huge and delicious and did not have any beans. The "traditional eggs Benedict" was typical and came with a large portion of their potatoes- yum. The "huevos rancheros" was great too but I wished it had those potatoes. My husband had the "applewood bacon and poached egg avocado toast" twice because it was so good. We ordered two additional eggs sunny to go with it, as that dish only had one poached egg. He also got the "two eggs your way" which comes with choice of protein, potatoes and two slices of sourdough toast w butter (no jam). He ordered bacon egg and cheese taco with that dish to maximize his protein intake. That was tasty. Everything we ate here was a good portion. I saw the regular menu. Dishes are about $16. The pancakes looked awesome- maybe we will get that next time. Pancakes would pair well with the hash- it looks like a huge dish. They have a breakfast cocktail menu. I had the bloody Maria (nothing special but it said house made bloody mix so I wanted to try it), which came with a celery stick. I think next time I'll do the coffee inspired cocktails. Those sound amazing. We ate inside because the wind was crazy like 25mph. We ate outside one day, when the wind wasn't as bad, and found that there are some pesky birds trying to steal food off of server trays. So if you don't want the birds, sit inside. The place gets busy; you can make a reservation. We never had to wait in line long or wait for a table, but I think that's because we're hotel guests. Once sat, we did wait more than 20 min to receive our food. But it's ok. The coffee is good. The restaurant turns into Lona for lunch and dinner. They give you the Lona drink menu for breakfast too if you're more in the mood for a margarita. Bar seating is first come first served. Bathrooms are inside the hotel lobby. There is no parking for the restaurant but you can valet.

No way this stuff wasn't pre-made a while ago. Oh yeah, part of a banana and one strawberry. Despite what the waiter said, I could tell everything was pre-made. It's about the same quality as the free "continental breakfast" most cheap hotels offer except at the hotel it's still warm and you get refills on coffee and the waffle is freshly made and hot enough to melt butter. No free refills on coffee here unless you buy their "pour over," and then you get one small refill. The strainer for the coffee was stained and filthy when it was brought out, so they're not using fresh ones or even cleaning thoroughly between uses. GF had a meatless omelet and a smoothie. Her omelet was hot so obviously it was made fresh unlike mine. I told the waiter my food was cold and he swore he saw them "take it out of the oven," but nothing I ordered would be cooked in any over other than a microwave oven. Total bill for two: $60+. This was with a 30% discount on my plate for my food being served cold. Honestly you'll have a better, fresher meal at IHOP or Waffle House or Denny's, for a fraction of the price and you'll get coffee refills.
