Have been shopping at this Michaels for a number of years I don't know if they hired seasonal help but the service last night was atrocious, although they wear headphones to "help"customers two employees were using them to bad mouth every customer who wasn't up to their standards, I was appalled at things I heard, happy boy and bad skin girl should not work here their attitude towards their customers is so not what Michaels seems to stand for it reminded me of the way you are treated at Walmart. This store is so depressing. It's messy, missing stock everywhere, and way too warm. I swear they always have the heat on, it's so gross in there. Poorly merchandised is just not my style, I'd much rather go to the newly remodeled Huntington Beach Michael's. read more

I tried placing an order last night 4/25 because I saw a promotion buy one get one free. I added the items to my cart, but the price was the original amount. I called this morning asking the supposed store manager, "Abi," she stated, "please call 1800Michaels." I called to be greeted by an automated message saying "Please go to www.michaels.com and click on live chat" I did that yesterday and waited for about a 1hr then I received a message notifying me no one was online to help me. The automated message stated it should take about 5 mins but I am still waiting after 30mins. I called again and spoke with Abi, the alleged store manager. She said, "she could not see online, she only received the orders" It's so frustrating and upsetting to deal with incompetent people like her, who do not know how to run a store or even lie correctly. As I spoke to her, the tone was condescending and arrogant. I just need the frames for my mother's house, and this has turned into a nightmare. Please be aware of this store, no wonder the rating is so low with an inept manager who lacks customer service skills and candor. Please shop else to avoid unpleasantries. The front cashier and the items that I needed were in stock at a decent price is all I'm going to say. Overall, I have to agree that the service is not great or good. I walked around looking for craft items and despite walking around the store over and over and passing several employees, no one bothered to offer any help or at least greet me. And this was in the morning and it was very slow, I mean the store was virtually empty(no wonder). Also just so that everyone knows since I am a resident of Fullerton. The city has approved plans for upscale high density apartments/condos in parking lot area behind Burlington Coat Factory which is next to Michael's. It will consist of mixed use buildings meaning residential with commercial. The elevations on the net show the center being really spruced up so hopefully this will get Micheal's to step it up or get out for someone better. Unfortunately, that Brazilian Restaurant on the corner of Orangefair and Lemon will be torn down to make way for new development. The mall for the most part will be left intact. There are plans to build two parking structures for added parking. There is a rumor that possibly a Macy's may be coming to Orangefair Mall, but no confirmations yet. Wonderful buys, but customer service check out is the worst! Went there for 4th of July sale! Found great buys! Then it came time to check out! I was the seventh person in line. Only one check stand open! I left and counted eight employees in the store! Told the employees about the line! When I got back there were ten people in line. Someone did call another checker. He said come to number 3 check stand and the customers pushed each other to get there first. Needless to say I left and will NEVER go back! read more

This Michaels is 1 of the best ive ever been too! Its kinda small but its never crowded and the employees are great! The employees are all knowledgeable and very helpful. I have zero complaints and nothing but good things to say about this location. read more

I'm very disappointed about this place. I ordered three white custom framings worth $1,300. When I arrived to pick them up the frames were completely dirty, scratched, and the paint was peeling from the frame. Beside that, I received terrible customer service and waited a long time from the person in charge of framing that was suppose to be in the store at 11:am. The frame was very expensive yet, the frame was cheap. I do not recommend this place. read more

There are so many nice goodies here! I'm not particularly artistic but I have a project so naturally just stopped on by. We were welcomed by a nice associate and she was walking around the store regularly. She helped me find what I need. However, associate Molly at the register was having a bad day because she looked like she did not want to ring me up. I did not get my total, hardly even a peep out of her except when she mumbled when I said I have a coupon. She just motioned for me to swipe my card and literally tossed my receipt in my bag. Looks like the store is cleaner than previous reviewers mentioned and they have gotten some better associates too. read more

Went to this location last night after a terrible experience at the Downey store. The staff is amazing. Everyone went out of their way to help me. I placed order online for store pick up. Due to large volume of shoppers on Black Friday, online orders were taking longer to be received by the stores. I got there about an hour and a half after I placed my order and they still didn't have it in their system. I walked around the store hoping my order would show up soon. When they finally received my order, about a half hour later, I received a call that my order was ready while the employee I had first talked to when I arrived looked for me to tell me in person. I even got help loading the large boxes in my car. Truly a great experience. read more

WOW, I thought it was only ME that wondered about this store, I mean it is always CRAZY busy when I've been there. I never seem to be able to find the item I am looking for - this is a store I just want to go in, and get out of ... the vibe is just UGH!! I never seem to find a clerk who KNOWS anything about crafts (Hello??? You Work in a Crafts Store (who does the hiring here???), why don't you at least know the basics???). My favorite craft is needlework - their selection is Non-Existent. Oh, one day I did go in JUST to browse (I had been in the area to another store). I was thinking of some ideas as Christmas Presents, and just wanted to see if they had what I was looking for (and if they did, price it against Hobby Lobby). I guess I was there too long browsing because all of a sudden I was being followed by a clerk (I guess they think anyone there too long is looking to shop-lift). It was a wee bit obvious, I'd be over by the glass containers, and there he'd be; I'd go over by the glass paints, and there he was again. I moved over to the material paint area ... and there he was again. I finally asked him a question about the aisle I was in and he said "I don't know, I don't work this area." I looked at him, shook my head, turned and walked out. The Orangefair Mall location is the closest one to where I live, and without a car, I usually end up here. No More. I'll plan for a longer trip, and take the bus up to Hobby Lobby in Anaheim Hills. The Clerks there are helpful, treat customers with respect, and LOL, I LOVE their needle craft area, one of the biggest I have seen for years!! Buh-Bye Michaels ... read more

And now you want to hassle your customers with a complicated lock and a fee to use your carts to shop in your store? Great idea. Make the in store experience less convenient. Very rude employees not very helpful considering the amount of money i paid. Tried to purchase some frames and figured the person behind the frame counter could help me. Took 15-20 mins to get her attention and when she didnt have what i was looking for, she suggested something that ended up not working at all. She also acted like I was wasting her time... All of the casheirs were very rude and seemed just generally angry and rude so i went to the michaels i think on beach and they were much more helpful, solved my issue in 5 minutes. Will not be returning to orangefair mall location in the future. read more
