I've been coming to this location ever since I was a kid and I have always found whatever I've been looking for here, no matter what my hobby at that time would be. Michael's pretty much has anything that you need for whatever arts and crafts project you're working on. I've been here for school projects, art class supplies, and casual hobbies. I would recommend signing up for their rewards program/installing their app because then you get some pretty good coupons, and if you go there enough, then you can get vouchers for a certain amount off your next purchase. I must say though there's no music playing in the speakers at all so it gives off this quiet, eerie vibe to it since it's dead quiet. The only other thing is also that it's kind of hard to find someone working here to help you out if you're trying to look for something. It always seems like there's only 1 or 2 people working out on the floor (even pre-covid) so it's hard to track them down. As far as covid regulations they only really regulate it at the check out area where they put down 6' spacers on the floor and put up acrylic barriers at the counters. There's nothing really regulated on the actual product floor area other than masks being required inside.

long line to pay

This location in Carmel Mountain is convenient. It's located close to the AT&T store. Plenty of parking in this plaza mid week afternoon. The store had a strange vibe to it. A lot of people at the check out line but the store itself seemed quiet and empty. Some shelves looked minimal without little stocked. Sis wanted to get a small treasure chest and a few other items. Somehow she found it here via their website so that was a plus. But the line to pay was tough. I'm not sure if there weren't enough cashiers. Our cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable. She let us use our coupon twice (I think we did two separate transactions). So overall the visit was a success and we were satisfied.

It's about that teacher life... When you need supplies for school or the classroom, this is the place to be. Their aisles are stocked high and prices are low. The AC is always on full blast and their staff are eager to help out, no matter what they are doing. Used to come here with my mom when I was younger as she always wanted to buy something new to decorate the home. I'll be back for sure. Just be sure to check with the wife, when she says she's going to Michaels, it better be the store not some random dude lol.

Ummm I'm lost! Where do I start? I'm not artistic but this place makes me want to create something beautiful. Yellllp please! Point me to the sticker section before I join the craft class. Endless ribbons to choose from and I want to buy all of them. Then there's the clearance section, I wanted to go through all of them but I only have 15 minutes to spare. I still walked around and checked out every single aisle. I think I came early enough where everything was still organized. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Unfortunately, my 40% coupon didn't scan but the cashier still gave me 25% off. I'll take it! It's better than nothing. Store had good vibes, clean and good price! If I ever feel like doing everything from scratch, save a little, and enjoy making it. This is the store for me!

Cake decorating class!

For my birthday, my friend signed us up for cake decorating class at Michael's. Something I would never even think about doing! When I think about craft class, I usually think about stay at home moms wanting to get out. I usually don't like decorating. It takes a lot of time and patience which I just don't have. Clearly I needed to be committed to the class. With being on a budget, I kept printing out their weekly coupons. You can either get it from their weekly ad online or cut it out of your Sunday paper. I purchased something from the store each week for the class. The different Wilton products that were used in class made decorating so much easier. The store was pretty much stocked up with everything that I needed. I learned the different techniques and methods used to decorating a cake. It did make me enjoy decorating and appreciate everything I made. How to hold the icing bag at the right angle really makes a huge difference with being comfortable decorating and the way everything turned out. Elisa the teacher was very nice and explained everything very well. She was a very good teacher and I hope to take another class with her. I usually just saw members of the staff checking people out. Nobody usually around in the aisles. It's always good to walk around and talk to customers. It is a nice store. I've been going here ever since I was a kid needing craft supplies. The classes they offer are well worth the time and effort!

Great supplies!!! But extremely long lines during the holidays. They have 8 registers but only two open during the week before Christmas.

I regularly introduce new participants to both games, encouraging a broader and more engaged player base. For Dungeons & Dragons, I often seek guidance from Rubin, a staff member, whose advice has consistently helped me improve my gameplay. In the realm of Magic: The Gathering, particularly Commander format, my playgroup regularly consults Mike for strategic insights and deck optimization. We've even made special trips to the store specifically to play against him. Many of my military-affiliated friends--who make up a notable portion of the local Magic community--appreciate that Mike is also a veteran Marine, creating an added layer of camaraderie and trust. Personally, I've always found Mike to be forthright and exceptionally knowledgeable. He is a key reason why my friends and I attend Commander Night on Tuesdays; his expertise and willingness to help players refine their decks by identifying the most synergistic card choices is invaluable. I also proudly support At Ease Games as a Patreon member, which grants me access to special events. This system helps foster a dedicated and respectful community, and I've had numerous positive experiences because of it. At Ease Games is a cornerstone of the local gaming scene. Should the shop ever close, it would be a genuine loss to the community--a deeply felt absence for many of us who have come to rely on it as a space for connection, growth, and play.

Visited SD Sports Cards and was blown away by the organization, inventory, and welcoming staff. They're an authorized retailer of Topps (which is really what made me come by), and have everything in sports and TCG from baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, ufc, pokemon, etc. It's a small shop but they're set it up well to be able to find what you're looking for easily, whether it's supplies, autos, graded, or raw base cards. Staff also let me know of their Mira Mesa location which I still have yet to visit. Haven't bought anything yet, but did catch that some of the most coveted card boxes (i.e. boxes that only come with 1-3 rare cards) were cheaper than I've seen at other shops! Will definitely be back!

I bought the Browns with the clear understanding that I'd be eligible for XRCs. During the break, an XRC hit that should've gone to the Browns didn't -- it went to "someone else" To add insult to injury, the breaker actually laughed about it live on stream, joking with his regulars about how the guy who bought the Browns wouldn't be getting the card. Real professional. This feels like a straight-up money grab. Why would anyone purchase a team and then have to pay extra just to get the hits from that same team? What a joke. Total bait-and-switch. This isn't just confusing, it feels rigged. Avoid unless you enjoy getting burned.
