    6" Turkey Sandwich (toasted)

My favorite sandwich shop in the bay. Mickey is always so welcoming, kind, and caring. He makes amazing sandwiches with fresh ingredients and the BEST bread from La Segunda, a local bakery. He's a wonderful man of God and I can't recommend this place enough! [[HIGHLIGHT]]In such a cool grocery store in a beautiful part of town.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It's a tampa must.

This small sandwich shop is located inside the Duckweed Store. It can be a little hard to find if you are parking in the parking lot behind it. They have a pretty small and limited menu, but it is carefully thought out. I got to meet Mickey himself, and I would love to see his business thrive here. He explained his homemade sauces for 3 of the sandwiches. I opted for the Turkey Club instead though. It was great. I only wish it had a couple more slices of turkey on it. The sandwich was a good size portion for lunch. You can also opt to get it as a 12 inch as well. Mickey was very detail oriented, and he made sure that I got everything I wanted on my sandwich, including pickles. It was very fast service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are tables to sit there and eat, but I took my sandwich to go![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I come in on Mondays every week; best sub shop in Tampa! London broil: perfect. Cuban: 2nd to none. Italian? Nonna would be proud.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]The sandwich shop is tucked in the back of a nice bodega.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It is a small ma&pa business that where each sandwich is made with love! I got a 6inch Italian and subbed spinach for lettuce. The bread is soft and chewy - SO GOOD. The meats are fresh and high quality. The homerun was that DELICIOUS homemade parm sauce that brought it all together. At first glance, I thought it wasn't enough beat, when you bite into it, you realize it's the perfect amount. It's simple but satisfying. Prices are also very reasonable! I will definitely be back to try the other sandwiches!

A hidden jewel located inside of Duckweed Urban Grocery & Liquor store in South Tampa off Westshore Blvd. Upon entry I was immediately greeted by Michael and given a little history as to how @mickeyssubs "Mickey's Subs" all started. Michael is very passionate and it shows in him telling of his story and his love for food. Thus, the reason for him starting Mickey's Subs because Tampa isn't known nor has a sandwich shop such as this. He offers 7 sandwiches to choose from in either a 6" or 12" depending on how hungry you are. I decided on the "Italian" sub which he mentioned was one of his best sellers and comes with Virginia Ham, Genoa Salami, Hot Sopressata smoked provolone, fresh romaine lettuce Roma tomatoes and Dill pickles and Mickey's Parmi Sauce. Since I'm not a salami fan, Mickey made my sub a little special with turkey and ham, hold the pickles and topped with his homemade parmesan sauce. Can you say finger licking good. I also got the "London Broil" which has "Roast Beef" w/ Aged Wisconsin Sharp Cheddar, Romaine Lettuce, roma tomatoes and dill pickles & Mickey's Mustang "horse raddish" mayo. I'll definitely be sharing with friends and making plans to return soon to try the "Cuban" sub. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And for all my ole heads there is a classic Pac-Man arcade video game that you can play while waiting on your sandwich sub.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Take about a blast from the past!! Thanks @yelptampabay

Atmosphere - very good. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall. There are about six 4 tops on the left as you enter and on the right is a counter where your order is taken. The restaurant is nothing fancy, but it is clean and bright. Service - Excellent. The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive. Food - Excellent. The sandwiches are awesome. The bread is extremely fresh and the meat and toppings are of the highest quality. I ordered a six inch "make your own sub" consisting of Turkey and London Broil, tomato and onions. It is the best sandwich that I have had in the area. Overall Value - Excellent. The prices and quality of food make this a winner in my book and I highly recommend this place.

We were here years ago for a Yelp Event, and when we were recently close by for a doctor appointment and this place came up as something close by, we remembered it. The one thing that has changed is that they have a screen for you to place your order. Very easy to use and seems pretty efficient. Mickey is as friendly as he was back then, and he made our subs. I opted for a 6" Italian, and was happy that you could get them toasted. I had order a sauce on it, but he asked if I truly wanted it and when he described it, he was right, it wasn't what I wanted. Good catch!! My sub was super yummy. The bun was fresh, and the ingredients were ample. I picked the perfect sub for me and it was made to perfection. I wish I lived closer!!!

Came in for lunch today. Originally introduced to this shop from a Yelp event that was held here however it's been some time. We were in the area so decided to come in. My daughter and I shared a 12 inch Cuban sub and my hubs got the 6 inch London broil sub. We all got chips and a drink and all came to $27 which isn't bad for lunch for 3 these days. They have a small seating area available so we chose to dine in. Love that they have boars head meat and Deep River chips. Maui onion so yes I had to get. Both subs were delicious!! The bread is fresh and soft -- we opted for warm subs. Fresh ingredients and great taste. Owner was super friendly and great at suggestions got veggies as well. If you haven't come here already then go, this place is definitely a diamond.

I was intorduces to this locally owned sandwich shop via. Yelp event. I am officially reviewing them now and cam say the drive was worth it. I It's in a little plaza that most would consider "hole in the wall" and parking can be a little difficult when all the businesses are humming. Bur you have the option to dine in or take out so should be fine either way. Setup is today and cozy with seating, fountain soda machine and Ms Pacman arcade game on the left and the food prep and cashier on the right. Menu is fairly simple with Cubans, tieky, ham, veggie, build your own, and London broil sandwiches highlighted. You have the option to add chips, cookie, and choice o canned or fountain soda. I went for the London broil on white with the horseradish sauce, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, and banana peppers on white bread...hot! The bread is nice and soft and the ingredients were fresh and tasty. Definitely worth getting over some of the chain sandwich shops for sure. Owner and employees are really nice and the dining area is jept clean. Definitely a nice find by the Yelp team that hosted an event here before. These are the mom and pop shops I love to find and support locally. Definitely a place I'd recommend you try. So if you're at St Joseph's hospital or at a Bucs game, this might be a neat little spot to hit up for a quick bite!

Mickey's has moved! They are now in the back of the Duck Weed store near Westshore and Gandy. Still the same great stuff just a new location. Mickey himself still makes most of the sandwiches with his signature style and sauces!

Why 5 stars? Because I now have another go-to sandwich shop. --- --- --- I bookmarked Mickey's a while back right after they had just opened and only had a few reviews. To be honest, the only thing that prevented me from checking them out sooner was that the photos of the menu looked pretty limited. It seemed like they only had a handful of sandwiches on the menu, so I figured maybe I'd wait it out to see if more reviews came in. When I saw that they were hosting a Yelp check-in offer "event" soon, it put them right back on my radar. Sure enough, more great reviews had come in, so I made my way over to North Armenia to check them out. When I walked in on a Sunday afternoon, the owner was the only other person inside. He gave me a run down, which was similar to what I'd read on their Yelp page before I arrived: their two most popular sandwiches are the London Broil and the Italian. Because I couldn't decide between the two, I ordered a 6 inch of both! Both ended up being really solid. Between the two, I think I liked the London Broil even more, but it was close. The bread was toasted, but also still soft - aka the perfect kind of sandwich bread. I definitely plan on returning again and will be ordering the Cuban. Hopefully as they get more established, they are able to add to the menu, but at the same time, it also wouldn't be a bad idea to just keep truckin' with a small menu that's done amazingly well. Mickey's Subs is a prime example on why it's so much better to support local business: the owner himself is in the shop making sure you get the best product possible! I'll be rooting for Mickey's to keep gaining more fans every week!

I stopped in for a quick breakfast and ordered The Yankee (pastrami, scrambled egg whites, and cheese on an English muffin), a side of breakfast potatoes, and one of their cream cheese brownies. The standout was easily the breakfast sandwich. The English muffin was one of the best I've ever had. Fresh, soft, and clearly made with care. It was also a bit larger than your typical English muffin, and honestly, the bread was so good that I found myself taking the pastrami out and eating it separately because I enjoyed the egg, cheese, and muffin combination that much. If you're someone who loves an English muffin breakfast sandwich, this is worth trying for the bread alone. The cream cheese brownie was also excellent. I would absolutely order that again. The only real letdown was the breakfast potatoes. They were just okay and could have been much crispier. They were already a little soggy even though I picked my food up as soon as it was ready and ate it immediately, so it wasn't a case of the food sitting around. Service was friendly, but I was surprised by how long the food took considering the restaurant wasn't particularly busy and there were plenty of open seats. The salad ingredients were well paired together; I had the creamy garlic dijon dressing atop a bed of greens, sunflower seeds, tomatoes, and what I believe to be dried cranberries. The potatoes for the potato salad were tender and well-seasoned. I was actually surprised with the portion size! For the price of the meal, I think the portions were worth it! Also, although it's not explicitly stated, they also have scones with clotted cream and your choice of jam. The scones are fluffy and dense (but it doesn't feel heavy on your stomach after you eat them) and pair nicely with the airy cream and flavorful jam. I had the pleasure of coming here twice - once for lunch and another time to buy actual meat. The initial take of the Meat Market lends itself to some hesitation and doubt. A fast glance may trick one into thinking that the store is part of the Circle K gas station itself - it is not, so don't worry about getting any gas station "specials." As you walk into Interbay Meat Market, you will find yourself immersed in truly a large-sized bodega with open-faced fridges, packed with drinks, lined against the outer walls. In between everything else are your groceries and other common pantry items. Almost at the center is a cantina/canteen, where you can pick out your own lunch from an assortment of available freshly cooked foods. The food you find here would be comparable to Caribbean twist or any other Latin-cafeteria style eatery. The servings are generous for a decent price.
