The parade is back after a year back. Disney added two new floats to celebrate the Get Your Ears On celebration. One of the float is actually from Tokyo Disneyland's old float. For me, this parade is still fun. The floats are beautiful and the soundtrack is catchy. But it has been running since like 2011. I think it's time for Disneyland to have something new. read more

So cute. And fun. You can arrive up to 45 mins ahead of time. Sit on either side of Main Street. I recommend close to a food place in the shade. I like to place my people and then run and get food or snacks for the wait. Shade makes this more pleasant. So find a good spot. The parade starts at Main Street and then proceeds up to small world. So there are seats all the way up the route, but I like Main Street because you have a shorter wait time and less people are there at this time of day. The parade is usually 3pm Kids love it! Mickey. Ariel. Donald. Goofy. Pluto. Tinker Bell. Peter and hook. Mary Poppins and Chimney Sweeps. Lion King. Princess and the Frog. And more. Keep in mind anyone in the front row and on the curb can stay sitting, everyone behind will have to stand when the parade starts. read more

Where else can you see Mickey Mouse drumming an infectious beat while rocking a brightly colored outfit that resembles a track suit? I guess that would be at the Soundsational Parade!!!!!! I've seen this parade many times and each time, I notice something that I missed before. The performances, floats, and outfits have a lot of intricate details that can be missed if you're not paying attention! For example if you look closely at Goofy's outfit, you'll notice a xylophone pattern lining the outer portion of his pants and also on both sides of his vest/jacket. I guess that you should be warned that you will be singing the theme song throughout the parade, in your car, and when you think that no one is looking or listening. It's so catchy so don't be surprised if you're caught singing: "It's a music celebration Come on , come on, come on, Strike up that band Feel the beat, what a great sensation..." The parade begins with a procession of drummers who are all in synch with their movements! They never drop their drumsticks, no matter how many times they twirl them at a rapid speed! They pump up the crowd as they sport black headbands and brightly colored track suits along with colorful sneakers! All of the sudden, the MOUSE appears on a float with his sweetheart, MINNIE! Oh but Mickey is looking super cool in his sweat suit but hold me back... Mickey's showing off his musical talents by drumming for the world to see. He really works the crowd too! Other familiar Disney characters proceed down Main Street to spread joy throughout the park! Goofy is high up on a float banging on a mouse-shaped gong while Pluto displays his dance skills. You'll also see the main characters from Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, The Three Caballeros (Latino Donald, Jose, and Panchito), The Lion King, Peter Pan, and many of the Disney princesses! As Ariel's aquatic-themed float works its way past you, bubbles rain down upon audience members. The octopus is also shaking a tambourine and some maracas! Mary Poppins is the closing act of this performance in which you'll hear "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" blaring loudly over the speakers. However, it's pretty neat to see her riding on contraption that is a cross between the horses on a carousel and a tricycle. Their movements really mimic that of a carousel ride! Overall, this a solid parade that you really shouldn't miss. If you are running late, head down to where the parade is scheduled to end. The floats move at such a slow speed that you could arrive late and still catch the entire performance, 10 minutes after it all began. If it began on Main Street head down by It's a Small World and vice versa if it began at Small World. read more

It's a music celebration! Mickey's Soundsational Parade is my second favorite parade at Disneyland ever...right behind the Parade of Dreams during the 50th and right in front of the Lion King Celebration Parade from back in the 90's. I liked the Electric Light Parade but was never really that into it. Call me strange. Believe it or not Soundsational almost turned out as a Princess and the Frog Parade. Rumor has it that the music was so strong from that movie that Disney decided to do a parade based on music. This parade celebrates one of the most amazing things about Disney movies and stories, the music. The amazing thing about music is that it is one of the few things that can take you back in time to a specific event or feeling just by hearing a certain song or melody. At first I wasn't expecting much after Celebrate! A Street Party, the last "parade type" thing that Disneyland did. That "Street Party" was a total disappointment after the run the Parade of Dreams had. Technically the Parade of Dreams was originally going to be a 5 year parade so I guess they just ended it a bit early and filled in the gap between Parade of Dreams and Soundsational with Celebrate! I never once felt the need to stick around to watch Celebrate! but I would totally stay extra long at the park to watch Soundsational. Unlike the Parade of Dreams, there are no show stops...so basically anywhere you can find a good spot is a good spot to watch the parade from. My favorite place has always been and always will be the Hub of Disneyland...from the inside of the circle...you get the overall experience...Sleeping Beauty's Castle on one side, Matterhorn in the distance, next to the Partners Statue of Walt and Mickey and in between every single land of Disneyland...for me it's all about the experience so the Hub is the spot for me. Great parade. The girls, Jan, Nick and I throughly enjoyed the entire process. TNT were napping, so we camped out on one of the benches near the train station (at the main entrance) and this was an unexpected pleasure. Unobstructed views of the entire parade without the bother of the enormous crowds. The music and pageantry were fantastic. If you don't like parades you may want to consider taking this opportunity to stand on line for your favorite ride it may actually be shorter. The one that we saw featured the music and dancing from Lion King, Mary Poppins, Mickey and Donald (of course), Ariel (Little Mermaid), Peter Pan, Princess and the Frog, and Aladdin. Oh, and the little known Three Caballeros. read more

When at Disneyland, parades are a must do. It's a good opportunity for the entertainment to come to you, just sit and enjoy. Fairy tale and cartoon characters come to life in sight and sound with this parade and it's great to join in the fun. Being somewhat impatient. I tend to watch the parades as I'm on my way to a destination. This gives me the opportunity of avoiding long lines as rides while others are on the parade route and also I can view the parade in its entirety while I'm on the move. Genius, because I get the best of both worlds. If you have kids or a better attention span than I, this is the perfect parade to sit and enjoy with the entire family. Hello Tarzan! That's practically all I remember from this parade. HAHA! Okay, okay, I remember more but I DOOO remember Tarzan the most out of this parade! Mickey, Minnie, Daffie, Daisy, Goofy, and all the princesses and princes were out! This is your one and only chance to see all your favorite Disneyland characters come to life! If there's something you have to see on your first time to Disneyland (well, besides all the various attractions), make sure a parade is one of them! Mickey's Soundsational Parade is actually quite long (30 minutes to see all the characters, princesses, and floats passing by to various musical themes), but it definitely fits the bill. I didn't know what to expect - it had been a LONG time since I'd been to Disneyland, much less seen one of their parades. But, the music puts you in a good mood and seeing the dancers and musicians put on a great show was pretty cool. (Plus, the guy in the Mickey Mouse character outfit really knew how to play the drums! I was expecting him to just sit there and wave.) We watched it near the circular hub near Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and had a decent view. read more

The characters are great. I really like the pinata and birds with Donald in the 3 Cobenaroes. (Sorry I can't spell it) I also like the opening with the drummers There is a long wait depending where you want to see the parade. The 1st parade starts from Small World and ends on Main Street. The 2nd parade starts from Main Street and back to Small World 2016 Today Minnie is my favorite character. Too bad only one parade now because of the night parades. Our darling little girl is in love with Minnie Mouse these days and she loves to see all her Disney characters come to life. This parade also features all the Disney princesses as well as some Disney classics alongside newer characters from their movies. It will either start on Main Street or Fantasyland depending on the time of day. A trip to Disney is not complete without watching a parade so don't miss out. Also, don't forget to get a glimpse of the Pixar Play Parade at DCA while you're at it. Just plan ahead because everyone park hops between parades. Don't say I didn't warn you :) read more

For those of you who don't visit Disneyland too often, they all need to be seen AT LEAST once. And for those of you who do, make sure you watch out for updates to the parade and don't miss them... and if you're all caught up, head on over to your favorite ride during the next scheduled one. Disneyland parades are so well designed with elaborate floats, quality costumes, music that inspires warm fuzzy feelings... and they incorporate many of your favorite classic Disney characters and all the princesses - old and new - including Elsa & Anna. But..... Why does Peter Pan have to walk?! There needs to be a ship-shaped float with the characters from Peter Pan.... and Hook hanging off the back with the crocodile trailing them! read more

I love the Disney parade, the music, the costumes, the dances, and all the energy. It's awesome. This is your chance to see all the beloved characters The downside is you have to secure a spot an hour before the parade if you want a good view. We like to sit in one of the cafes on main street to enjoy our friends/snacks while waiting for the parade read more

One of the best rides in the park. I came early here with my best friend and we splurged on a VIP purchase pass so that we didn't have to wait in the long line-up. One of the reason's to go to Disney in the first place in the afternoon is to make it a must to see the parade and then the fireworks at night. read more

terrible terrible terrible what they've done to this parade the costume designers have been to too many raves and have been around too many drugs i don't know what was going on, but every time a group of dancers comes through, one or two randomly step out of the parade and the music..so..annoying.. read more

It's a music celebration! My favorite parade, hands down. The drum line at the beginning is exceptional and Mickey is even rocking the kit. Amazing. You get to see a lot of Disney's classic characters jamming to their own style of the song, and is an absolute must see. read more

Not my favorite parade but I'll admit the dancing and music was pretty catchy. There's not that many characters or floats like I expected. I would say the only notably pretty one would be the princess one of course but the princesses weren't even dancing. Just sitting on their royal bum waving. I don't think that was part of the soundsational dancing. Make sure to sit down on the curb about 30 mins before the parade to get a pretty good seat. The big finale was Mary Poppins. I expected something a little more grand. read more

Different than the Paint the Night parade . . not bad different, just seems a little more toned down and with a more "parade" type feel (think of more drums and synchronized dancing haha). It has a few princesses and some cool rose-parade looking floats. Kids would certainly like it and you can only catch it Fri-Sun. read more

This is truly a magical parade. The reaction of my 6 year old kiddo is priceless, and I will remember it forever. You can always find a seat somewhere along the parade route. so no need to stake out a spot early. The only downside is the crowded walkways. Disneyland's newest non-holiday parade, replacing the Celebrate! A Street Party parade. Being a huge fan of Disney music, I was super excited when I heard that the new Disney parade was gonna be based on popular Disney songs. But honestly, I haven't seen that many parades in my lifetime, let alone Disney parades, so I didn't know what to expect. The concept drawings looked cool enough. But what about when they actually became floats? Mickey's Soundsational Parade consists of 9 floats, based around popular characters and movies, and returns to the continuously moving floats unlike the stop, perform, and go Celebrate! parade, of which I'm not a big fan. It's great for the kids, I guess. But the rest of us don't get to play! Most important to this parade is of course, the music, and I must say, it's catchy! I find myself singing the chorus without thinking all the time. The one thing that I didn't really like about the Celebrate! parade was that it didn't seem very Disney-like to me. Soundsational on the other hand, is all Disney. The whole soundtrack is a medley weaving back and forth between popular Disney songs and the main Soundsational chorus, in matching musical styles. A couple of the floats even feature live musicians, including Mickey himself playing the drums. The live musicians, especially the drummers in the front of the parade, definitely add some great extra energy. I also love most of the costumes. Especially Mickey and the drummers. There're also performers on stilts, who always look like they're having a great time. Though not as interactive as Celebrate!, these characters and performers definitely do seem to try to interact a bit with the guests watching on the side. The floats themselves are very whimsical and colorful. My favorite are Tiana's showboat, and the Mary Poppin's float. Those two, as well as the princess's float are probably the most elaborate. This is a parade that I always try to catch. Hopefully it'll be here to stay for a good while. read more

I waited 34 years to see this and I was not disappointed. To see each character I have grown up with parade down the street was incredibly exciting. My son was obsessed with Jake and the Neverland pirates, his favorite being Capt. Hook (he was even Capt Hook for Halloween the year before). He was totally amazed when Capt. Hook (no promoting from us) picked him out of the crowd and danced with him down Main St. It was an experience my son will never forget! read more

Ironically, the only times I've seen "Mickey's Soundsational Parade" were entirely by accident ... never really scheduled. But, of all the times I've been in the Park and caught different parts of the parade each time, I can now say that I've seen the entire thing. This parade is different from others in previous years because it reminds me of a huge, street-wide dance party. Mickey leads the parades (he's the world's best drummer boy) and kicks off the festivities, and you see floats and exhibits from some of Disney's most beloved tales ... as well those some of the more-forgotten films. During my latest trip to the Park, I actually got to watch the parade in its entirety (again, not planned, but it just worked out that way) and my friends and I happened to be at an ideal spot--right in front of Carnation Café, so we could easily see everything that was going on without getting blocked. And, since we were actually meeting another friend at the restaurant, the cast members couldn't really turn us away and say we were blocking the sidewalk. Score. I actually like this parade because it's sort of different. While it includes your normal Disney characters--Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Pluto and Chip 'n' Dale--you also get to see characters that you HARDLY see in the Park. When was the last time you saw Mary Poppins, Bert and the chimney sweepers (other than sometimes at Jolly Holiday Café and at the end of Fantasmic!)? When was the last time you saw "The Three Caballeros" (and I bet you don't even know the other birds' names, other than Donald Duck)? Yeah ... I didn't think so. While you do see beloved characters like Ariel, Simba and Aladdin, I love how you get to see other characters from movies that don't always get the spotlight, like "Mary Poppins" and "Princess and the Frog." My personal favorite scene from this parade, though, is the medley of "Royal Princess Romantic Melodies," where you get to hear a great blend of all the classic love songs from each of these movies. I've always liked the Princesses--in this parade, you get to see Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, Belle and Rapunzel--but this float in particular gets extra brownie points because it features my favorite song from "Tangled" (as well as Rapunzel's tower) ... and Rapunzel is my most recent, all-time favorite Princess (next to Belle and Aurora). This part of the parade is definitely a highlight for me. It's worth noting that this parade also gets a lot of attention because of the Pre-Parade: Frozen Fantasy, starring everyone's favorite sisters (no, not Anastasia and Drizella), Elsa and Anna, as well as a talking Olaf. It's probably every little girl's dream to see Elsa (or Anna), but the one glitch about this parade is that the "Frozen"-themed float comes out so far ahead of all the other floats ... that after it comes out, you sort of wonder when the real parade is actually going to start! If it were up to me, I would decrease the lag time between the "Frozen" float and the rest of the parade so that "Frozen" will just seem like a prequel (and you don't feel like you're waiting forever for the rest of the parade to get underway). I remember the same thing happened several years ago when "Enchanted" came out, and you saw Giselle way before the rest of the parade started. But, that aside, "Mickey's Soundsational Parade" is worth checking out while it's in the Park ... even if you happen to do so unplanned. read more

A fun parade that allows you to see a lot of characters that aren't roaming the park. The music is also very catchy.

We were recommended this parade by a coworker that goes all the time with her family. We went early, about 30 minutes before to get a spot along Main Street. There were already people there waiting. The parade is fun with big floats, lots of Disney characters marching/dancing/waving down the parade route. There are multiple dancers and extras too. Very entertaining. read more

Great show. So much fun Appears that it runs once or twice in the afternoons, but varies week to week. From "Small World" to Main Street first, followed by the reverse an hour or so afterwards. It's a great time to see everyone's favorite characters. Highly recommended to camp out along Main Street a half hour or so early if you have small ones who want to boogie and wave at their favorite Disney characters. read more
