We were at a loss. Big 18" x 24" hole in the cabinetry and the need to replace a 5 year old GE Cafe microwave oven, I contacted Micro-Trim and spoke with Ryan. In a couple weeks I had the trim kit and very quickly figured out how the new replacement oven would be centered in the opening with vents above and below the oven. I took two measurements, one between the support feet on the bottom of the oven, and the other the distance from the back of the oven to the back of the oven door. With just those two measurements I was able to mount the centering support extrusions held in place by 8 screws, and slid the new microwave oven on to the supports. The four trim extrusions fit together at right angles and were temporarily held by double sticky tape. Four mounting screws were used to mount the remaining opening space and providing the venting trim. The installation could not have been simpler. All I gave Ryan was the details of the new replacement microwave oven and the dimensions of the cabinet opening. The centering of the microwave in the opening was perfect. After working with the appliance team at a large national hardware chain to replace a fried built-in microwave, the salesperson eventually determined they did not carry a brand in the right size to fit the build-in space that also had the wattage, cooking space and finish to match the old unit. I was replacing two 30+ year old ovens. One a microwave and the other a standard wall oven. Both built in. After much deliberation I picked my ovens, both Bosch, got them home and then set out to find trim that would cover the small gaps around both ovens. Quickly learned there were no kits for Bosch. I stumbled upon MicroTrim on a Google search and am so glad that I did. We were replacing a 26-year-old KitchenAid double oven with a new Frigidaire double oven and the cabinet opening was now 6" too tall. It was too expensive to try and replace the cabinet or to even have the cabinet modified, so this was a very reasonable option that I didn't even know existed. Frigidaire actually makes a trim piece for the oven, but it only covers up to 3" and I needed something to cover a little over 6". I filled-out their online price quote form and was called the next day to verify the dimensions and price options (aluminum, stainless steel, etc.). We opted for the aluminum trim piece since it was going to be under the oven. Within a week or so, I had the trim kit and installed it. The installation was very easy, and the directions were clear. I've done business with Microtrim in years past with outstanding service and great results on their products, especially with their support. But recently this firm built a custom trim kit I requested for a double oven installation that I had not received. I provided what i thought were accurate dimensions, and they delivered the trim kit to my specs. Unfortunately I was totally off with my specifications. I called the company to explain my dilemma and their response was more than I ever expected. Not only did they offer to remake the trim kit using the corrected specs they also offered a refund if that was my preference. I don't know of another company in America today that would respond with that kind of humanity when the mistake was entirely of my own doing! Companies like Microtrim are a rarity today. I ordered a Micro-Trim microwave trim kit 2 years ago. I am very particular and I was pleased with the way it looked. Two years later, I am writing a review because upon installation, my contractor just threw in the plastic supports, causing the microwave to move every time we tried to open it - no fault of Micro-Trim. When I finally took the microwave out to solve a separate issue with the microwave itself today, I called Micro-Trim. They told me feet were supplied in the kit with the plastic supports to lift the microwave (I'm sure they were and my contractor ignored them!), and they have modified the plastic supports in the last 2 years and replaced the the plastic with metal. He said he would send out both the supports and feet tomorrow. No request for $ or even my address as he had that in his system. If I could only get this kind of customer support everywhere! read more

They are really efficient, have you fill out dimensions and send pictures of your "open" area and dimensions of the new microwave. They called to confirm the information they might have questions on. We shopped around for a replacement induction stove top, but couldn't find one that was the same dimensions as our bad one. There were going to be gaps in our quartz countertops because of this. The place we ended up buying the new stove top at suggested Micro-Trim because they specialize in trim pieces that mitigate this issue. I called and talked to Dom and he was extremely helpful. He explained the process and sent me the information to fill out and send back. He said there was a little bit of a lead time, but that is expected with just about anything right now. I want to commend the people at Micro-Trim, Inc. for their outstanding work in fabricating several custom stainless steel pieces to fit appliances in our new outdoor kitchen. I called on Micro-Trim to close the gap on a poorly designed BBQ that left an open cavity for debris to accumulate; they fabricated a vented cover that works perfectly. I also asked the company to fabricate a cover for our outdoor fire pit to protect it from rain and debris; this item was not offered by the manufacturer. Our microwave with a plastic trim kit finally blew - literally! We didn't have many size options for a replacement & none of the companies seemed to offer trim kits for their products to provide a clean, professional looking installation. From the get go I emailed them the worksheet they requested. They then called me to ask questions because my original measurements didn't add up. They the walked me through over the phone with what measurements they did need. I did ask them what they thought would look best. Orginally I wanted stainless steal but they said the black would look better (knowing it was cheaper) I really appreciate them not trying to make a buck but value in making thier product look good with our stove. We had to replace the barbecue grill in our concrete cut out. The new one, by the same maker, didnt quite match, leaving a significant gap on the back and a small height difference on the sides. We were referred by the installer from Pacific Sales to try Micro-trim. When I contacted them, they let us know what info we needed for our cut out because they info on the Lynx grill Took pictures with measurements, sent NY email and promptly got an estimate Few weeks later we had the heavy duty steel frame we were able to fit in the slot exactly.
