I brought two vehicles to the Midas location at 2525 Monument Blvd, and the experience made me feel extremely uncomfortable. In all my life, no business has ever questioned me about why both vehicles had disabled parking placards. The employee, Isaías, told me that it "didn't show in their system," which I have never heard of before, and then proceeded to ask what type of disability I have. Those questions are inappropriate, discriminatory, and potentially against the law. A customer's medical condition is private, and there is no justification for a business to request that kind of personal information. I expected professionalism and respect, not interrogation. I hope upper management takes this matter seriously, provides proper training to their staff, and ensures this does not happen to anyone else in the future. read more

I'll never understand why some people feel entitled to take from others. A friend took their car to Midas in Concord, and they did the worst work imaginable over several months. They used duct tape to hold parts together, drilled screws in when they should have unscrewed them, loose parts, and replaced parts claiming it was old when it was actually new. They also replaced a water pump and other parts that were perfectly fine. The thing is, we all work to make a living, not for fun, and we trust others to do their job well because we expect good service and because it's the right thing to do. But some people have the audacity to lie and take advantage of others. I just hope that when it's their turn to receive a service, they don't experience the same poor treatment we saw at this business. Went in for realignment and a slight belt problem at noon. Halfway through the day they call and try to sell us new tires, extended the repairs so that they didn't finish until closing at 5pm. Got the keys back, turned the car on in their parking lot, belt squeaked louder than before, alignment was permanently stuck to the right and our radiator leaked. Had to limp the car home because it was overheating. Waste of $1000. They did not fix anything. The car actually ran better before we brought it to the shop. Do not go here. read more

I do not recommend this place. I got an oil change and alignment and upsold me on cabin air filter. As I was driving off I noticed oily dirty finger prints all on my hood. And also a fresh scratch right above my glove compartment. They preached that they top off fluids to customers which I did not get. As I'm driving I noticed my alignment was still slightly off. I then receive a text from ROBERT asking about my service. And I explained the situation and the concerns I had. He then texted back in all caps stating that he doesn't know about the scratch and to come in to correct my alignment. I was too busy to make arrangements plus I was already irritated with the service. So I took it else where. Few weeks later I get another text from ROBERT asking how my car was doing. What a great experience! Isiah, Bryam and Dennis took care of my daughter's jeep, were super friendly, extremely professional and did a great job. The jeep sounded broken and loud so we took into the shop. They were fast and effective fixing the muffler. After fixing the issue I brought it in for, they took it for a test drive and found another issue that I had been trying to fix since I purchased the jeep for my daughter. I do no like writing negative reviews, but in this case I have to make an exception. I have been a customer of Midas on Monument Blvd. in Concord for a number of years. They did minor repairs for a decent price. Two and a half years ago I have purchased a new Interstate battery from them, which they also installed in my car. Recently, my car had some electrical issues, so I took it to a qualified electrician and he told me that nothing is wrong with my car, but my battery is near its death. Having heard that I went to Midas to have the battery replaced under the warranty, because the battery was just 29 months old. The owner told me that he has no record of ever selling me an Interstate battery. I went home, spent over two hours, but was eventually able to find the original receipt from 2.5 years ago. I went to Midas the next day with the original receipt, but the owner flat out refused to replace the battery under the warranty. He claims that while it is true that the battery falls under Interstate 30-month warranty, I drove over 24,000 miles on it, which voids my warranty. To that I showed him a printout of the warranty document from the Interstate website stating that there is no mileage requirement, only time requirement of 30 months. After the owner saw the document he got very agitated and yelled that I am not getting a new battery for free no matter what and the best he can do is offer a 45% discount under the pro-rated 48-month coverage. The battery in question costs $220, so a 45% of that amount would be $99, so the difference is $121. Bottom line, the owner was ready to openly violate a warranty policy and lose a years-long customer over $121. That should tell you how he approaches his business and how much he values his customers. I am not even mentioning his yelling at me and his unprofessional behavior, which was not called for, since I was talking to him in a calm and respectful manner. Save yourself a headache and avoid this business. Thankfully, there are lots and lots of good car repair shops just a few steps away from them and in Concord in general. P.S. After this interaction, I came back home and called Interstate Batteries 800-number. The lady on the phone confirmed that there is no mileage requirement and that my battery is indeed still covered by their 30-month warranty. read more

My '08 Ridgeline ran off original pads and during the last tire rotation I was advised to take care of it before any longer trip. I called Robert at Midas and he found an opening for me the same day. Once there they did the break inspection while we were still going through the paperwork. The break pads and the rotors were done before the EOB and done right. What else one might wish for? I brought my Toyota Prius Prime 2017 for a simple oil change, mainly because I couldn't open oil filter housing myself, I skipped replacing oil filter last time I changed an engine oil. This time I brought my car to Midas near Costco in Concord, I mentioned to Robert that I skipped replacing the filter last time because of it, Robert was professional and courteous throughout, when I got home i opened the hood and saw the oil cap was missing, I also jacked up my car and checked the oil filter housing for signs of oil activity, there's none, bone dry just the same way I brought it there, when you remove filter housing there will be plenty of used oil coming out and it's impossible to not to see evidence. I told Robert and he replaced an oil cap but he didn't believe me that the filter wasn't replaced. What happened was The guy who replaced my oil tried to remove the filter housing when it gave some resistance he skipped it, now I have an oil filter that has 20k miles on it and idk what to do, keep driving for another 10k? I got an oil change here for a good deal. but the day before I had my alignment done somewhere else, closer to where I lived. I always like to make sure my car is good and if I need anything else done for my car so I don't have to come back, the mechanic told me I was fine. But when I came to Midas to get my oil change I got my car when it was done and I drove off back home, an hour later my cars wheel bearing starts making horrible noises, I take it to them next time I have to come to concord which is today, I get it checked and the guy doesn't even need to drive it further than the parking lot of the shop to know what it is. He takes it into the shop and lifts it up, shows me the problem with the bearing and says I need a new one, the older guy in the front tries to tell me my wheel will come off anytime now. I'm a little suspicious at this point but I looked online at the prices and for one bearing it shouldn't cost over $200 for a part and the labor shouldn't be too bad neither. But my car was completely good before this, alignment and wheel wise, I literally got a it good the day before the oil change. The guy gives me an estimate of $904.26 for the whole price to fix it... I might look like an easy target but this is beyond messed up, do not go here unless you know your shit about cars, just don't go here in general, this made me quite mad but not much I can do about it..... read more

This place did not satisfied what I needed to be done for my car. I came to this shop on a Saturday late afternoon to get my brakes calipers flushed with my cousin (familiar with car repairs). When we arrived to the shop, we noticed it was busy (a lot of people in the waiting area) and the lady behind the desk told us to come back in 1 hour and my car will be done. We came back in 1 hour and my car hasn't been worked on so I was a little frustrated that we still have to wait for my car to be service. Anyway, the lady told us that now it should be 30 minutes longer. Just from observation, this lady looks more occupied on her phone than my car. While I was waiting in the waiting area, my curious cousin went outside and observed my car was not lifted off the ground which my cousin was very skeptical. My cousin knows that's it's impossible to flush the brakes without raising the car to take off all 4 tires to flush the brakes. So when I got my car back, it felt like my brakes weren't firm and they did some other service to my car. They didn't even test drive my car around the area to feel the brakes. So a week later, I came back again with my cousin to complain about their service. I told the lady our reasoning behind why my car brakes was fully flush. She said that it is possible to flush the car brakes without raising the car and they have some sort of tool. My cousin research this "tool" and couldn't find it online. We left again feeling unsatisfied. I called Midas on the phone to talked to the lady again to ask for a refund and she refuses! My cousin and I can sense how defensive she was getting on the phone with her tone. Now we decided to go get a second opinion from another Midas in Walnut Creek. We talked to representatives there and understood our situation. They were very helpful and said they can flush my car brakes within an hour. We came back in an hour and my car brakes felt firm and they even test drive it when we we there. Midas Walnut Creek says that Midas Concord did not flush my brakes like we expected! The main differences, in my opinion are: - Midas is located in a crappy area next to some shady looking Auto Repair places, which makes the entire business look more sketch. - Midas probably uses cheaper brand products so that the overall costs is less than at a manufacturer. - Midas has less customers, meaning less of a weight and no scheduling required. - Midas employees pressure their customers less to replace items and better explain what's going on with the car and why. However, minus one star for not telling me when to pick up the family truck, when it was done already. Tip: - I would usually take a newer car, that has warranty, to the manufacturer. Only that way will they guarantee to replace and honor the warranty contract. read more

I made an appointment at the Concord store to take advantage of their $29.99 synthetic blend oil change special. The man who checked me in (sorry I don't recall his name but he was an older, somewhat haggard looking man) rather boldly announced that he was lining me up for a full synthetic oil change. This surprised me to hear because I know that my car takes 0W20 oil and I know the OEM oil is a synthetic blend. I also know that a full synthetic oil change is not included in the special and would likely be more expensive. Just to be sure, before responding I did a Google search on the Castrol web site and confirmed that the recommended oil for my car is a synthetic blend and that full synthetic is an alternate recommendation. I politely mentioned that I was pretty sure that a synthetic blend would be OK for my car. The agent responded in a rude, arrogant tone "My computer is telling me that your car takes full synthetic oil. If you want a synthetic blend you'll have to get your oil changes somewhere else!" I was quite taken aback by this response and especially rudeness with which it was delivered, but I countered (politely but firmly) that what he is telling me conflicts with what is says on the Castrol web site. He responded by doubling down and very rudely refusing to reconsider and bluntly giving me an ultimatum "Do you want your oil changed or not?". I told him that I didn't appreciate his rude, arrogant attitude and then took my keys off the counter and walked out. I went to the Jiffy Lube down the road and was treated very courteously and because of a coupon they had available I only paid a few dollars more than I would have paid at Midas. Absolute scammers. I had my cabin filter changed 4000 miles ago(they last 15-30k miles). I watch the guy take it out and set it on their dirty floor. They come up after saying it's really dirty and it'll be $40 extra! Then he tells me I have leaks in my shocks and they need repair. Those were replaced 6 months ago! Don't ever do business here. I've been to this Midas about four or five times in the past three years. I have been happy with my service every time. Today was no exception. I digitally arranged an appointment, which went off without a hitch. I was told I needed to wait about an hour for the oil change and the diagnostic, which I was told would cost $150. I signed the pre-order and it was $174. After about 40 minutes, I was called to the front and was delighted to find I didn't have to pay the $150 for the diagnostic as they didn't find anything. I really appreciated that as I'm unemployed now (I was laid off) and every little bit helps. That is a snapshot of the good, friendly, and professional service I received there. While this is bit of a non-sequitor, I went there about three years ago for something and when I went into the bathroom, I was shocked as to how clean it was. Usually that is NEVER the case with an automotive shop business. Usually it looks like it's where five or six homeless people live. It's little things like that that make a difference. So does the organized and clean waiting room as well. There is free wifi, which was a snap to connect to, water, and even coloring material for children. I appreciate that as well. Most of all, I appreciate the good service. I had some major work done a few years ago, i.e., new brakes, new muffler, etc. and they did a great job. I used to go to Meinke down the street for years but my suspicions were aroused that work I was paying for was not getting done. I won't go into the details but that upset me. So, I now give all my business, and have encouraged friends as well, to go to Midas. They sincerely seek to do a good job and to make the customer happy and that is something really rare now I've found. read more

I just took my 2003 m3 here and they left didn't properly close the cap. When I drove to Hillsborough Ca I noticed my car smoking open hood and noticed they didn't screw oil cap on properly. I contacted them thier voicemail is full and I believe they close at 5pm. read more
