The team at Midas really saved the day for my family. We were driving back home to Vegas from SoCal when our check charging system light suddenly came on. Luckily, we were driving through Corona and were able to get it checked out before they closed. Swing by for oil change. Asked how long it would take and were told about an hr since the shop is not busy at all. Took nearly 3 hrs (came in around 12:30 and didn't get out around 3:25pm) when asking the guy in front desk, he said oh 15 more minute. 20 minute went by, ask the manager and he has no idea why it take long. Came back with reason as we waiting for filter. Wtf? You should've tell me that you need to order the oil filter from the get go. I avoid the wait at the dealer and end up wait longer During lift up the car, tech put the jack at the wrong spot, causing the corner piece underneath pop out. I have to go under the car to push the pin back. On top of that, tech didn't clean his hand, leaving oil stain inside the car( picture showed) I will not ever come back and I don't recommend anyone go there. Midas is a good place for all your fix it needs. But word of advice...make sure you do your reasearch on whats wrong with your vehicle. In order for midas to do their jobs you should be able to semi diagnose what issues your experiencing. The better you are at communicating to them whats wrong. These guys have worked on my car countless times. And rebuilt an engine for me. After inspecting my vehicle, the business reported, fraudulently, that the tread on my right rear tire was low and a worker also stuck a nail in the side wall of my tire. These were brand new tires bought less than 6 months ago. I spoke to a worker named Joseph about this issue and he confirmed that the tread was the same on each of the tires, even though it was reported that the tire tread was lower than the safe limit. I also discussed the placement of the nail, which is unlikely considering that it was perfectly placed on the side wall of the tire; a location that does not touch the road while driving safely and cautiously; or at all. I stayed to investigate the matter and eventually bought a used tire close to this location. I came here because of the price that I received from the coupon, although they charged me even more. I left spending an extra $5.43 and $75 at another tire shop to replace the tire that was tampered with. They closed the tire portion of this repair shop right before they shared inspection report with me and tried to sell me a used tire for the brand new tire bought by the dealership where I purchased the car in February. This was an inconvenience and a hardship considering how far I traveled, my limited income, and the safety hazard that this could have caused if I had not spent extra money repairing an issue that I did not have upon arriving at this location. I took my car there to get my transmission fluid serviced. I left the car there. I come back and my car could barely make it home. They said I needed a new transmission. They had a list of all the things they said my car needed immediately. I had just had my sensors changed and got new spark plugs but they said I needed those. I had my regular mobile mechanic come and look at it and right away he noticed that they left a belt of and that's why I could barely make it home and they didn't even change my transmission fluid that I paid 254 dollars for!! He was also on top of making sure I got a rental car, compliments of Midas, so that I can run my errands due to the time needed to finish. On 5/12/2021 I had an 2pm appointment @Midas for an oil change. My car running/mechanically fine upon arrival. When paying I got a list of things wrong with my car "courtesy check" ...From water pump leak, gasket leak, AC hose leaking, oil leaks, rack n pinion leak, and other leaks. I told the customer service rep I had no idea where all that trouble came from if my car was driving perfectly fine. Anyway, I drove off and instantly notice my car overheating. I drove back to Midas and asked to speak to whom worked on my car and told him I would give him the opportunity to check my car again because I know for A FACT my car had no issues. He said he didn't touch anything else but oil pan and oil filter but did notice my water pump was leaking and that's the only thing he found wrong and looked at me straight in the eyes and said he would never mess with anybody's car. He said I'd be able to drive it with my heater on so it won't over-heat. I don't live far from Midas and stopped by a mechanic shop on the way and had it inspected. Mechanic said (got it in writing too) Midas worker had to intentionally drain the anti freeze and loosened the radiator cap (reason why it overheated) to make it seem like my water pump was leaking and somehow all the other things they listed would came into play and I'd have to repair. Mechanic put antifreeze and closed cap correctly. My car ran perfectly right after just like it was running before taken to MIDAS. My car is an 06 and I DO take care of it and keep up with maintenance. I would NOT drive to Loma Linda (45 miles one way) everyday if there was issues with it. We all know our cars. Today (5/16) as I was driving to work my check engine light turned on. Pulled over to check and there was NO OIL!!! NO OIL!!!! NO WAY car leaked 5 quarts of oil. There's no oil leaks or water ...NOTHING!! So after being handed a broken car list and mechanic fixed what MIDAS had intentionally messed with my car MAGICALLY went back to normal??? BS!!! I called MIDAS and spoke to Manager about my horrific experience and she said "That was not done here". She remembered me from prior day and added "we have cameras that happened to you somewhere else". The AUDACITY of her. WOW! I don't even know if my filter was changed! I tried going after work (arrived @4:45pm) but it was closed. This place will Intentionally do something to your car that would cost you HUGE problems. Said they would pull my car back within an hour for an inspection, it took over 2 (at the two hour mark I got picked up by a family member) I don't recommend waiting there for your car, if I would've waited I would've been there from 930am-3pm. Also we're telling other clients it would take an hour when I was in the lobby instead of just being honest about the long wait. With that being said, they changed my front brakes and checked to make sure they were still good days later which was appreciated. My family has been using Midas in Irvine for years. I went to this location recently with my wife's MB GLC 300. The service was great, with knowledgeable and generally nice staff all around. My wife needed new tires, an oil change, and an air filter. Mercedes Benz Ontario forewarned me at my prior service this service would be ~$800 without the tires (I would estimate $2,000+ with tires). At Midas, everything was ~$1,300. One minor hiccup occurred where the oil cap was not perfectly sealed and oil was spilling on my return home, but I returned and they fixed the problem with no additional cost. I had been a regular customer at this particular Midas when Derek and Tom were there. Derek got promoted and another guy, Rigo, took over for him. I didn't feel comfortable, as a female, with the new guy (not sure why) but it is what it is. I got a new car and took her to Midas, customer service seemed to lack and I felt as though the pricing was "pricey". I had an issue with my Transmission, took my Edge there and Rigo said I'll look for what you need and call you. I waited 3 days and I called him. He stated "oh I still haven't talked to my guy, give me until Friday". Rigo never contacted me so I took my vehicle elsewhere and had her fixed for a reasonable price. I brought my car in for a nail patch and rotation. They popped my hood and checked my engine without my permission and then tried to tell me i have $3,500 of leak repairs. They were so busy trying to find other things to stick me with they forgot to do the tire rotation!! I had to drive all the way back! And I feel violated that they went poking around in my car without asking. This kind of service is 100% unacceptable! I regret taking my car here. Be careful! Mike (owner) is a sales man, fast talker. Advertise a Oil Change but there are restrictions and long waits. Car has to be less 70k miles, or there is extra charge. Did not offer tire rotation though it is included. I asked to my 5th tire to be included in rotation, he said could not do it without charging me for a tire rotation. "Have to pay the guys!" he said. Also, when I first got there he said would take about 4hrs to do oil change. That bigger repairs took priority. No mention of how many people before me. I went to get an oil change for my car and when I had made my appointment over the phone I was told it would only be $29.99 for conventional oil for my cars make and model. However, when I got there I was then told that I would have to pay $79.99 after being told otherwise. I feel like the initial price was just a ploy to get me to go down there. After hearing the new increased priced I asked how long it would take. The representative told me it would only take 30 minutes. I did not leave until 2 hours later and ended up being late for work. On top of that I was told they found a bunch of things wrong with my care that would cost over 3k to fix. I came to get new front and rear brakes to this location about 4 months ago and got the most affordable deal in the surrounding area. About 1 week ago my brakes started screeching as if they needed to be replaced again, so I called them and they got me in for a same day appointment. Turns out a peddle scratched one of the rotors and it was causing all the noise. They resurfaced the rotor and I was out within 2 hours at no charge.
