Honest Review: I am on a fixed budget and try to save as much as I can especially when I felt that my local dealership was charging $25-30 more for a full synthetic oil/filter change at 10K mileage before telling me I needed both the engine/cabin filter replaced (I bought the parts and did it myself lol, only took 15mins). So I told them to just fix the new vehicle issues under the warranties (all technical) which were done on the same day late afternoon by 4:30pm on Saturday, 08/17/24. That was when I noticed that Midas of Dublin was opened until 5pm and had remembered them since getting a full synthetic oil/filter change for my SUV years ago (I didn't drive much during the pandemic since being able to work remotely then later hybrid from home) so I decided to swing by before closing to see if I can schedule something for the day after on Sunday. Luckily, my memory still worked and first impressions always had a big impact on me so I remembered Junior assisting me who is now the Branch Manager of this location which is super awesome; shoutout to you and congratulations! Junior was very nice and cordial as always making sure that I felt at ease with scheduling a last minute full synthetic oil/filter change for my sedan AND even honored leaving my vehicle overnight locked inside their service stations (I had my own ride) to be picked up next day Sunday morning after the service was completed. I will definitely be returning to this location as it is much more cost efficient than going to my local dealership and you do not need to worry about any upselling. They even checked my car battery which was a sweet surprise, you will get to see a battery metered chart on a printed label; thought it was one of the cutest things for some reason lol and thankful because it is always better to be safe. Real nice guys. Snacks!! Pac-Man! Friendly guys. BUT.... I'm sad to say they did the wrong shocks... they did the back not the front. Ugggghhhhhh.... The front of my car is practically touching the ground. It was so low and I was hitting curbs and getting stuck on parking bricks. It was terrible. I had to zip tape the front of my car. I needed the front shocks/struts done so bad but it's so expensive. I finally got some extra money to get it done and I could not believe when he said your back shocks are done .... I thought he was teasing. then they said they'll go ahead and do the front for an extra $600.... And that there was a special on shocks at $400.... ??? Only $1200 for both.... That's no deal! Plus I didn't need back ones... sure it would be nice but it wasn't an urgent need like the front... I mean, couldn't they have even caught that once they got it in the garage and saw that the front of my car was practically dragging.... Idk I said "no thanks on that special and I had to be somewhere, I had to leave. Came to Midas through a family members recommendation for an oil change, tire rotation and a brake check. Set the appointment up after hours via their web site and received a confirmation the following morning shortly after they opened, super easy. When I came in the gentleman that helped me was friendly and helpful, great customer service. The whole process took around 45 minutes, and they even added a coupon for a discount on the oil change that I was unaware of, which I appreciated. I'm an older woman and I hate dealing with car issues of any kind, but the men at the counter explain and answer questions with ease which makes coming here again so easy. wow, this place did a great job. The people at the counter were so nice and inviting. They have a lovely waiting room with cold drinks and hot coffee. Expensive visit - Do not rely on them for repair advice! Services requested oil change, transmission fluid, brakes and brake fluid. There is oil puddle, after the oil change from gasket and transmission fluid leak. They could have informed me of these leaks before they performed the service, billed me $3K+ and after the service, left me to discover the issues. When I got the car back, quoted another $3k. Horrible service. Not so professional or knowledgeable service personal. I took my vehicle in and specifically explained the issue I was having and what caused it, and after waiting two hours in the lobby, I was told that the issue was much worse and that I should take my vehicle to a dealer since it was a newer vehicle. I explained that dealers to warranty incorrect flat tire repair issues and I figured that since this was a work vehicle covered by a fleet servicing company, I incorrectly assumed that this would be a quick fix. After sitting for two hours while they were doing who knows what, (I had and appointment by the way) I explained how I needed to get back on the road and asked how much longer it would take. it was at that time a mechanic took my truck for a test drive and after he returned he said how bad the wobble was and that I needed to take it to a dealer soon. I again explained that the issue was the result of a bad tire repair and I even told the not so customer service Davy salesperson that I would even consider just buying a new tire if the unbalance issue was unable to be corrected due to the location of the repair in the tire. The sales guy then once again told me that I was wrong and that my issue was far more serious and that i should take it to a dealership. I once again said I don't have time for that and who knows how long it would take for me to get an appointment at the dealership. He looked at me and shrugged his shoulders. By this point I was done with this place. I grabbed my keys back and drove directly to Wheel Works less than 5 minutes away. The salesperson at Wheel Works which Midas should take some notes from had me in and out within 15 minutes. Amazingly the issue was exactly like I explained to both the salesperson and the mechanic at Midas. you would have thought that with there experience they could have figured out the problem especially since I gave them the answer in the first place. I was wrong. I will never return to Midas in Dublin. I also sat and watched how rude and unprofessional this same salesperson spoke to other people. Anybody reading this should stay away from Midas in Dublin and save yourself some time and money by going directly to Wheel Works or any other tire service store in the surrounding area around Dublin. The funny thing is I have received now for the 4th time an email from Midas asking for me to write a positive 5 star review for the experience I had with them. The first three emails I received I laughed, now this being the 4th email I received, I decided to take the time to explain how horrible and inexperienced the crew is over at Midas in Dublin. I am sure they haven't read any of there responses that I asked for them to stop trying to solicit a 5 star review from me when they haven't even earned a 1 star review let alone a 5. I am disappointed that I have no choice to give a 0 here so I'll just check the one star box and explain to everyone that I wouldn't be surprised if this place doesn't go out of business or is wrapped up in litigation. Made appointment for oil leak. Needed oil changed to fix leak. Quote was $69 for just oil change. I've been going to this Midas for 20 years and never paid more than $49, most times they would have a special for $24-$29. I asked, that is the price was response. Received call later that afternoon telling me they could not find the gasket (obsolete) for a 2008 Mazda so they could not fix oil leak, but they changed oil. Oil that needed to be drained to fix oil leak! So I paid total of $77 for oil change and had to take it to another shop and pay again for oil that needed to be drained to fix oil leak. Oh by the way, other shop had gasket delivered and installed in less than a day. read more

Broke down on a Friday at 5:15 in the morning on 680 and was stranded almost 50 miles from home near Dublin on our way to a dog show in Yolo County. AAA suggested Midas of Dublin who would give me a labor discount because of their partnership with AAA. Eddie at Midas of Dublin quickly diagnosed the problem as the alternator and he tried but they couldn't finish the repair that day. He promised to do everything he could to have the car fixed the next morning in time for us to make it to the show ring the next day. Eddie had Amanda, the woman at the front desk, arrange for an Uber to get me and my 2 dogs home for the night. Then Amanda put the Uber App on my phone for me and gave me wonderful instructions on what I needed to do to book an Uber to get us back in the morning INCLUDING giving me her home phone number in case I had any problems booking the return Uber. The next morning Uber dropped us at Midas and the car was ready in time for us to get to the 2nd day of the show and my youngest dog took Winner's Dog in the ring both Saturday and Sunday. I can't say enough about the people at Midas of Dublin, they went above and beyond to take care of me, my car and my dogs The service was top notch and they made me feel so safe in a scary situation and were very gracious about letting my dogs wait with me inside the office. read more

I've been to you guys a few times over the years, and while I appreciate you doing the jobs I need (and doing them well), I honestly don't think I'll be coming back. When I asked questions, I was met with things like "it's a different job to do" and, on the topic of what I needed, I went in for a transmission fluid flush, I asked if my transmission looked okay (Francis is an old car I'm worried) I was basically told they didn't look since it's technically a diagnostic job. That's..a bit of a reach, but whatever. I also didn't like how Cam (i think that's his name, he's an older gentleman) was talking about customers on the phone or after they left. It begs the question if he talks about me like that and all that. So while yes, what I needed was met, I'm not happy with the customer service. You should be checking the vehicle you're working on and making sure WHAT you're working on is fine. Also, don't treat people like they're stupid. Not everyone is a car person. So yeah. Highly overpriced!!! Midas of Dublin charges outrageous prices for their service. I had gone there for a brake inspection. They recommended that the rotor and brake pads be replaced and quoted me almost $1400 for the service (see attached quote). The prices for their parts are almost 2.5 times what they get it for. For e.g. the price for the rotor they quoted was $182.99. They get their parts from Monument Parts in San Ramon. This same rotor is quoted on Monument's website for $74.99. Overall, for all parts combined, they charged me approximately $500 more. The Labor charge is also seems extremely high. I was charged $380 for approximately one hour of labor. When I asked the manager about this, he acknowledged that their prices are higher and justified tried saying they provide Lifetime warranty on the brake pads. Brake pads cost $40 and and the lifetime warranty doesn't justify being charged 2.5x the cost. Not sure if other shops follow a similar practice of charging 2.5x for parts. But this is just cheating the customer. Never going back to Midas again. read more
