They broke my calipers when they took them off and replace them "for free." They should have. They broke them! They never bled my brake lines when they were done, and I've been having problems 4-5 months afterwards when air getting in my brake lines. I've been back to another mechanic THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING and they said the calipers they put are my car are bad! I should not have to replace calipers 5 months after getting "new" ones. When I called Midas to get my money back, they have a "90 days warranty" but continued to tell me that my calipers were still under warranty. I'm scared to drive my car, and Midas will not give me my money back and I have to pay for another company to do it right. I have to pay AGAIN! They don't care about you or your vehicle. I will admit that I haven't quite adjusted to this post-pandemic world where it seems like most auto shops are operating primarily by appointments. My car has been really dependable since I bought it, however, recent check engine light indicated it was clearly time to get some standard maintenance done. It had been a long time since I'd been to this Midas. It's almost hidden on Keystone as it sits right by a car wash and it somewhat hidden by Hedlund's Hardware. I went on the Midas website to make sure they could do what I needed done. I found the location needed and scheduled an online appointment. It is stressed when you schedule online that you will receive a confirmation and that merely scheduling online does not confirm. As I was scheduling at around 6am, I knew I'd likely be contacted sometime after 8am. I received a text (they also do phone calls according to customer preference) and the appointment was confirmed for Friday. On Thursday afternoon, they texted me again as a reminder and to have me confirm the appointment (which I did). I also let them know the light had actually gone off, however, I still wanted to do a tune-up to check things out. I arrived at my scheduled time. I was a bit disappointed at the lack of accessible parking (none), though I was the only customer at arrival and I was able to find a spot offering room for the wheelchair. They opened right on time and, of course, I was in the computer. They mentioned a diagnostic and I reiterated that I'd had one done and that the light had gone off. However, I still wanted a tune-up. We discussed the various options and while a full tune-up isn't cheap, I appreciated that there wasn't a lot of upsell (as opposed to a certain national shop down the street - I won't name names, but it rhymes with LiarBone). My car was done in a couple of hours and they noted it should not only run much better but the atmosphere should be better. He noted that there was a big whoosh of toxic air when they cleared out everything. It definitely needed a tune-up. I appreciated that they put the car in a place where I could easily get into it. I also noted that they'd re-attached a fender that had come off (I love my little Kia, though the fenders back in 2012 were flimsy at best). This is relatively simple, however, it was a nice customer service touch. They do have a credit card option - you can get six months same as cash if you pay on time for charges over $199. Mine was, however, I opted to use existing credit. This Midas is definitely an older location. It's incredibly basic, however, I was treated well, the car repair was done as needed, the pricing was consistent with the market, and overall I'm quite pleased. My car broke down off the side of 465 on a Friday night. I had the tow bring it to Midas in Keystone because I already had an appointment for a brake check on Saturday morning. I talked to the guys on Saturday told to please check it and let me know the cost t get it repaired, at around noon I got an email to call in, the man had bad news. My car's engine had seized up and there was nothing they could do at that location. The man was very nice, explained everything to me and then told me how much he hated giving me the news. I GIVE MIDAS A ZERO STARS!! I have had several issues with them but still used because convenient to where I live but never again! I purchased road hazards I bought tires from them and still cost me 50 bucks for them to fix and I have purchases tires else wheres I never had to pay anything. They are slow as hell to do anything. Very friendly service, and my car was finished earlier than the time estimate I was given. Great location, several nearby restaurants are within easy walking distance so you can drop your car off and easy lunch or dinner while you are waiting. One amusing item here: an old fashioned roller towel thing in the restroom. Being the germaphobe that I am I didn't touch it but opted to use the hand sanitizer on the counter instead. Still it was very interesting, I haven't seen one of those things for years. Or maybe in a musuem. I didn't even know they made those anymore. So visit Midas for friendly, honest service or repair. Out of state on a Saturday this was the only place for miles around that would fit us in. My husband watched and stated they seemed to really know what they were doing. He's capable of having done this himself if we were home with tools etc. The guy inside had every customer being so difficult and his customer service was great as well. He gave us a discount on the highest end part since a moderately priced one wasn't available. Had 9 more hours of driving to do and didn't want be stuck all weekend waiting to get our truck fixed. Had the wheel bearing hub replaced within two hours. I was scared of some of these other reviews but wanted a nationwide chain warranty that will follow us out of state. So far so good the popping noise has stopped if it isn't the problem I will update review. read more

The manager than explained to me what was wrong with my car and even offered a credit plan, since I didn't have the available funds at that time. One of the high end cheaters in this area, they charged my son (who is a student) $132.00 for screwing license plate (2 screws) , only one plate I have never seen in my whole US life charging this much just to fix Indiana license plate (just replacing old plate to new plate). Made such a mistake coming here. My normal locally owned car shop was booked for several weeks and I needed an oil change badly so I settled for here because there was a coupon and several decent reviews (you all are blind or being mislead if you think they are a good shop - by the way). A simple oil change and tire rotation took over an hour and a half and I was the only one waiting. They also tried to tell me over $500 worth of things were wrong with my car, even though I've never had one problem mentioned from my normal mechanic nor trouble when on the road. They also tried to blame the "problem" on my previous mechanic, which is laughable. I'm afraid they may have done something to actually damage my car. Its very obvious they tried to take advantage of me because I am a young female, because they got defensive and blamed others when I questioned them. Guess I will see when I go back to my normal service provider. They also had the Spike on the TV in the waiting room. Who watches that? I definitely will not be back. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Fool me three times and, well, that's just seriously not cool. I've been going to this Midas for 2+ years, but today was the last straw. A summary of my past month interactions with this sham shop: Bring in car A for an oil change and ask them to check on the AC. The guy at the counter tells me it will cost $40 to run some diagnostics. They do the usual upsell-you-an-air-filter routine (is it even possible to get an oil change without going through this?) and then charged me $89 for the AC check (and offer to fix it for $1,300). So I am disappointed that the AC evaluation cost double what I had been told, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. Bring in Car B for oil change a week later. They do the oil change, rotate tires, and send me on my way. Unfortunately, now I suddenly (as in, never had before) hear a squeaking noise from my front wheels. I'm assuming a loose bolt or something just didn't get done correctly when they had the car in for the oil change/tire rotation and this will be an easy fix, so make an appointment to bring the car back in. Bring Car B back in to have them fix the squeak. Apparently I now need $700 in brake work that was all somehow overlooked during their last '17 point inspection'. While I clearly don't trust these guys anymore, I agree to have some of the work done. When I finally pull away from the shop three hours later, I discover that my AC button is now broken. How the bleep do you break an AC button when you're working on the brakes?? Clearly these guys have adopted the fix one thing, break another business model in order to generate repeat visits. Or perhaps their mechanics are just incompetent, but in either case I'd strongly recommend you take your car elsewhere. read more

My wife scheduled an oil change appt for 4/17/23 as we always did for the last 14 years at this Midas. On that morn she rec'd a call to reschedule for 4/19/23 due to only have one tech reporting to work. On 4/19/23 she showed up at the appt'd time and was told that she was not on the schedule. Understanding that mistakes happen she asked if she could be squeezed in since we've always taken our cars there for 15 years. In a nutshell, she was told our loyalty was worthless and she could re-schedule for another day which was an inconvenient day for us. Not to mention that she homeschools our son and getting an oil change in the middle of the day was already an inconvenience as well was the rescheduled day. So we will find another place to take our cars with the hope that loyalty is worth something to them. The funny thing is we are relatives to the owner of this Midas, by marriage, and I am so tempted to mention this to my nieces' husband but I don't want to get him involved. read more

I have gone to this Midas 3 times and I really like it. The prices for an oil change and tire rotation are usually $22 when you use a coupon. They are also fairly fast (30-45 minutes). They do a nice inspection of your car. I've gone to the Midas on Illinois in downtown and was dissapointed because they told me all these things were wrong with my 5 year old car. The Midas here has never told me those things were wrong, but they have told me other things needed to be replaced over the years. One of those things were my tires. They told me I need to get my tires replaced asap. We did some research and yes, my tires needed to be replaced asap and I got them replaced two days later at another business for cheaper. The most recent time I went was another success. While rotating my tires they checked my brake pads and told me that I needed new break pads in the front. It was nice because the mechanic actually pulled me out of the waiting room to show me that my break pads and rotors weren't looking as good as they should be. They also told me that they may have to replace my two rotors for reasons I don't understand, but they may be able to replace the break pads without having to replace the rotors. I liked that because they didn't find a small opportunity to rip me off (i.e. let's just tell her she needs new rotors), but they were honest. They gave me a quote (about $450) to get all that done with labor and tax. My fiance ended up doing all of it today with a few of his friends. I paid $130 for two rotors, two break pads, and lots of equipment and lubricant to flush out my break lines, and new break fluid. I got the job done but not for $450. I give them 4 stars because they have never disappointed me but they could be expensive. Sure they have high prices because there is labor involved, but I really appreciate that they are honest with me. read more

I went to this midas 6 months ago and forgot to write a review. I came here because my tire had a bubble one day after purchasing a tire from the midas in carmel. I bought a warranty for the tire and the people at carmel told me I can take it to and midas for a replacement. So I took it to this one. When I got there was a rather large man standing at the front desk not greeting me. Didn't say anything. And then went to the back. Came back. Left again. Then came back out 10 mins later and said " can I help you" that's it. No apology for making me wait after they saw me. I told them about the tire and handed him the warranty paperwork. The rather large guy looked at it and said he couldn't help me and that I don't have a warranty and they don't have time for me. I felt really insulted, like I was a liar. I told him that wasn't true and to call carmel midas. After 10 mins of back and forth he finally called. He said I do have a warranty. That's it. No apology again. I will never be back. I've never been more disrespected. I also want to say I'm a black woman and I feel that had a lot to do with it. read more

The guys at Midas are brilliant. I have had a couple of problems with my car and they are very fair and are willing to overlook the fact that I could really care less about car related things. Our most recent conversation went like this: Me: "My dash has this light that keeps coming on. I'm pretty sure my car is ready to explode. I'm really sorry, but I didn't get a user guide when I bought it so I don't know what it's trying to tell me. But I'm pretty sure if it could talk, it would say it was going to explode." Midas Guy: "I took a look, and it was just a loose wire. We fixed it. Oh, I also looked up the dash lights on the web and printed them off for you. That way you can tell what's going on the next time. Just so you know there isn't a light for explosions. But if this one ever comes on (points to symbol on page) you may want to be worried then." Me: "Thanks. What do I owe you?" Midas. "Don't worry about it. Have a good day" Like I said they are brilliant. And honest. And you should feel good about going to them. So what are you waiting for? Very disappointed in the work I have had done there. Replaced my catalytic converters when it was stolen off my Honda Element. New exhaust pipe rusted through in a few months. Only covered parts not labor to fix. Cheap Catalytic converter they used gave up the ghost a year and half later, along with both oxygen sensors. Out of warranty, of course. Should have gone to the dealer instead of these clowns. Lesson learned.... read more

One of the first things I like to do when I get to a new city is find a reliable mechanic. I have found the people at this Midas location to be some of the most honest and trustworthy I have ever had the pleasure of working with. They always shoot me straight and tell me exactly what I need to know to make a solid informed decision. They never try to upsell and if they suggest something additional they explain why and what the ramifications would be down the road if I want to hold off on it. These guys are true professionals and everyone I've ever steered in their direction says the same thing. The only reason for the 4 stars is that they are a little pricier than your run of the mill auto repair shop, but i think that it makes up for itself in the fact that they give you honest estimates as to whats wrong with your vehicle read more

I went in for an oil change and instead the mechanic drained my transmission and put engine oil into my transmission. Immediately after leaving the lot I noticed something wasn't right so I came back for them to fix it. They did fix it by flushing my transmission and actually doing the oil change. The reason behind the mistake is "your oil pan and transmission are really close".... in sorry but you're a mechanic and I drive a 2015 Subaru Legacy nothing fancy. Great service.... I had to have my car towed to this location due to hitting a pot hole, swerving , hitting and landing on a curb which left me with a flat tire and a bent front control arm. I called to let them know that my car was in route. When my car arrived Tony the manager contacted me and told me the time that my car would be put on the service lift for inspection. Our front brakes were grinding. My daughter drove to the Keystone Ave Midas and had the brakes "inspected" at this facility and we were informed that the front brake pads and both rotors would need to be replaced. We were also informed that the rear brakes were "dangerous & unsafe" needing to have the brake pads and both rotors replaced as well. My daughter called me to give me their diagnosis. A little background here, I am an ASE certified technician but live in the Chicago area and didn't want her to drive it 3 hours to bring it to me with the brakes grinding. I had her authorize the front brake repair only, pads and rotor replacement. I also requested all the old parts back which I am glad that I did. They replaced the front brake pads and rotors and my daughter had to ask them for the old parts as they had forgotten to put them in the car. The next weekend, my daughter drove 3 hours to bring the car to me to repair the rear brakes. I had already purchased the rear brake pads & rotors as per their "inspection". I removed the rear hubcaps to find that the wheels were not recently removed. There was rust all along the studs which I ended up removing when I removed the wheels. Upon inspecting the brakes, I discovered that the rear pads were not even half worn & did not need to be replaced. I took pictures of the studs before removing the lug nuts & also of the brake pads. I pulled the old pads and front rotors that Midas replaced out of the trunk and measured the front rotors.They was plenty of thickness to machine them and reuse them. (I found it hard to believe they needed replacement because I had just replaced them not even 2,000 miles earlier to cure a pulsation.) Twice I spoke to the store manager and was promised a call back. Never happened. Midas Corp never responded after 2 calls there either. I gave this shop the chance to make it right. There is no need to rip people off and that is what they did. Do not trust this shop. read more

I went to this Midas today to get my brakes checked and have an oil change. This was the biggest mistake I could have made it turns out. I gave them the keys and went back to my office, waiting for a call back. I was called in about 30 minutes by Don and told that while removing my front right tire, they broke two of the five studs on my wheel because "the lug nuts were too tight." I was thinking oh man that's not good, but since they broke it I know they'll fix it, right? Wrong. I was told because I asked them to service my vehicle and it belonged to me, I would have to pay $15 per stud and $50 for the labor. In order to fix the studs, they would have to remove the three remaining lug nuts and risk snapping them off. In total, if I had let them proceed, it would have cost me $125 before they ever made a determination about my brakes. I asked him why I'd be responsible several times and Don kept trying to explain to me what they did to my car. I understood what they did, I didn't understand how the repair was going to cost me additional money. When I arrived to pick up the car, Don handed me the lug nuts with the snapped off pieces of the studs and explained to me what happened like I'm an idiot even though I already knew what he did. He didn't apologize for creating a costly situation nor did he offer to do anything for me. I'm pretty sure he assumed that I'm a woman and therefore I must be an idiot when it comes to mechanics. I called my normal auto repair shop and he instructed me to bring the car directly to him, which I did. They were appalled at how I was treated at this Midas. I did need a very costly repair and it is going to cost me over $500 to do, but now I have to pay additional money to repair the studs when I didn't cause that damage. They charged me less than Midas was going to thankfully, but it's still money I didn't have to spend. Oh and my mechanic had zero trouble taking my wheel off. They said it all happened quite easily. I called corporate to complain and they said someone would contact me, but couldn't tell me how long it would take to get a response. I spoke with them twice. If you are thinking about going to Midas because it's convenient or you have an emergency, I suggest you avoid it. Terrible customer service and awful technicians who apparently have no idea how to work on a car. read more

I'll preface this by saying I've had numerous services performed on my vehicle by this location without incident before, mostly due to how close it was to my house. Today, after taking the afternoon off work, I took my car in for a schedule oil change. Midas, and this location in particular, had previously offered a buy one oil change get two free deal plus some other add-ons. I take my car in and they tell me that they are no longer accepting the Groupon except at 730 in the morning, however, they are booked for the foreseeable future. All this without any cars in their bays. Nowhere in any documentation was this mentioned and the first Groupon oil change had no issue with me dropping my car off at 1:00 pm. Just poor business practice. Would avoid this Midas at all costs. There's a Jiffy Lube and GoodYear within a half mile that will be getting my business from now on. read more

If Mineke quotes me $350 for a job, I know this Midas will quote me over $600. They always overcharge with little explanation as to why. They wanted $580 to change out one caliper, rotor and brake pad. Total cost of parts when I called around, $240. I'm never going bake to this location. read more

After a few years living here in this town with a 10+ year old vehicle, I've had experience with a few of the north-side mechanics. I've been most impressed with the folks at this particular Midas location. Very friendly and priced right. They have been able to identify the source of car-related problems that two local dealerships couldn't figure out, and always take the time to explain the problem and present whatever options I have for getting things straightened out. Location is convenient to shopping and eating, as mentioned in other reviews. I will no longer be shopping around for my auto repair needs. read more

The location is great since Goodwill, Target, & Panera's free wi-fi are across the street so you can grab a latte or meander through the thrift store while waiting. I've been taking both my new car & my ancient one there for the 2 years I've been in Indy & am impressed with how informative and helpful they are. They'll let you know if something's going to need some attention soon, without insisting that it needs to be replaced now. Honest guys. The manager, John, is always the one to answer the phone it seems, & always seems to remember me & my automobiles. ( I know, he's got my info on a computer screen when i call to make the appointment, but still, he's really friendly & personable.) Also, they keep mailing me coupons for $10 off an oil change, so that works for me! My dealership keeps trying to get me to take my car to them for service, but for the same price, I'll stick with John's Midas crew. read more
