I have gone here quite a few times and finally met the owner the last time and got to know a few others. I am a female and females usually get taken advantage of because we don't know much about cars. It is a fact. Not once has this place provided me with false information or tell me I needed something I didn't need. Just because of them not taking advantage of me I would pay a few extra dollars than going somewhere cheap to save some money and hassle with people trying to sell me something I don't need. They always check out your car and let you know anything else that may need to be done and give you documentation showing everything you need to know. From what I gathered up the owner used to work for a company and went out on a limb to open up his own business. He is experienced and not all about making money. He also hires good people who provide great honest service. I mean if you look at the reviews nothing is really that bad. Obviously sometimes companies run behind. Not sure what to say about the dipstick thing, maybe the guy was talking to the wrong persona bout the wrong car. Obviously no one can be that dumb who work in that kind of profession... at least I hope not. read more

I would advise you to asked specifically about the parts and cost of the parts. Each Midas is independently owned. They don't tell your that. This particular Midas charges way more for the same parts as the Stockton Midas. When I asked why they charged me more, I was told that they get their parts from a different place. When I asked where and how much, they told me that they did not have to disclose the information. I was told that I should have produced the Stockton estimate and they would have matched the price. I replied, that I trusted them to give me a fair price, especially since the Stockton Midas called to set up the appointment. If you must use this Midas, verify the cost of the parts. Call around to other Midas' and make them charge the same cost. I paid $43 more for rotors and $20 more for the pads. read more

Had some work done on my car. I admit it wasn't cheap, but the cost for the repairs was very reasonable and much lower than other shops and much lower than the dealer. So I'm very satisfied with the honest and reasonable work done on my car. Will trust this shop for all my vehicle needs. read more

If I could give no stars I would. I normally change my own oil but didn't have the time so I took it here. What was supposed to be a simple oil change turned into a $500 nightmare. They drained my oil and said the bolt was stripped out but it was like that when they took it out so it must have been the previously places fault (yeah right) so now they have no way to put oil in my car so I can't take it anywhere else and I HAVE to pay THEM to fix it. So I went and got the part at a auto shop and gave it to them and they proceeded to charge me almost 500 DOLLARS for labor. Something that was a simple fix!!!! AND they had to keep my car overnight and said it would be ready between 7:30-8:00. When I called in the morning they said between 9:00-9:30 and the manager (Christian) told me he never said a time, he just said the morning. These people are super shady! The manager sucks and I wouldn't trust them with my bicycle. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! read more

Our family was in Manteca this past weekend for a Softball tournament. My van did not start, it was a couple minutes before closing, and Ken answered the phone, he said if I can get it jump started, they would wait for us to arrive. We got there in a few minutes, and was greeted with a smile by Ken and Donovan. They quickly replaced my battery and had my van running in no time. Donovan stayed late with Ken to help us out. My driver side front rotor was very warped and I took it to have them look at the problem. They called right away said they said all the pads looked fine and the front rotors were worked. My vehicle has over 106000 miles on it and I decided to put new rotors on. They did a great job with the inspection and said all the disks were fine and just replaced the rotors. It was so much cheaper than dealers or any other place I have seen. Two thumbs up!! read more

Lesson learned: The other day I realized I hadn't received my rebate check from MIdas Corp, so I thought I'd call and inquire. At first, I was going to call Ken directly, but I thought it was a Corporate thing SO .. I just called corporate and inquired about the check. I never complained and even said how much I love Ken & his crew. My wife & I have been going there for nearly 5 years now. They are always good to us! Well, it turned out they gave Ken a "black mark" and called it a complaint against his shop. I was bothered & embarrassed by this because Ken has always been an excellent example of Superior Customer Service. He will go out of his way to take care of you! I would never, never, never complain against this wonderful gentleman! Ken & his crew deserves 10 stars, not just 5. I hope Midas Corporation will read this and adjust how they interact with C.S. phone calls. I could tell she wasn't really listening to me and my worst nightmare came true ... she wasn't! I came here for a transmission flush service and was told I should get my car checked out first at another shop since the problem May not be the transmission. I left and it turns out it was my accelerator cable that needed to be replaced. I had ordered the part from the other shop I went to and they flaked on me, I decided to go back to Midas. I called and Christian asked how did I know that is what was wrong with my car so I told him I went to another shop and had it checked. Christian began talking to me as if I was inconveniencing him and said he would check if he could get the part for my car and would call me back. Still haven't received a call back and I won't ever go to a Midas again. I am a mom and always have my toddler in my car so having it be a safe vehicle is my number one priority. As for Christian you should definitely get a new job since you obviously aren't passionate about your current one. I didn't know the shop was doing so well that employees could afford to keep new customers away. Meineke is a little more costly but they have better customer service, act like they want your business and they're down the street from Midas. They get packed quick but now I know why. read more

Came in to have my car serviced and work done on it. Ken was super nice and even offered me a ride home. Christian was the one who helped me and was great! Gave me a rough estimate based of what I said I wanted and thought needed to be done. He kept me posted on all work that was needed and even the work that I thought was needed and really wasn't. I've been to a lot of repair shops that when you leave, you feel ripped off. I can say with ABSOLUTE VALIDITY that this will not happen here. They worked with me to save me money and find me discounts. They did not force the more expensive parts on me, but actually gave me the reasons why they were better and let me decide. I had told them they didn't have to hurry on the repairs (they were quite busy that day, Friday) so I said to take their time as I did not need my car..even said Monday would work. To my surprise it was ready the following day. Couldn't have been happier. I would definitely go back. This place is awesome!!! read more

Over charged on Parts!!! IF anyone can read this, before getting your car worked on, do your homework on the cost of parts. We had a WOLF IN SHEEPS clothing experience at this Midas. I will never take my vehicle here ever again. We never received a copy of the authorization we signed until the day after we paid because we requested it. We left feeling uneasy and we should have went back and said STOP! We later found out once we received our invoice that we were charged over $70 on an AC belt that is at a value of $19, water pump $170 and is at a value only $70, Serpentine Belt $47 value $3.00, and Thermostat $47 value $4.00 . We had to have our water pump replaced and some belts. We originally were quoted over $780 for the job, then was told they can go down to $750. We still felt that was a lot. We were then told "let us do the job and we will work with you on the price." I guess we made the mistake and trusted this Company. We walked home, gave a few phone calls to different auto shops, even to a different Midas and was quoted $250 less than the Midas in Manteca to do this same job. Called the Midas in Manteca and asked if they could stop working on the car. We were told it was too late. Too late and over charged. To be charged for an AC Belt that is at the most expensive price of $4.00, ended up being $70 is sickening to me. Friendly on the outside.... in the end protect your pockets from this place. We ended up paying over $640.. wow interesting how they were able to bring it down from $780 to $646 as a "church" discount. Still feel like they took advantage of us. Parts are Parts, just be honest. "Have a blessed day" is what we were told. I am glad our family could be a blessing to this Company. After getting tired of waiting and walking around while my car gets its turn, I finally told the front desk my just gonna take my car home and forget about the oil change. I brought my car in for an oil change, have the tires and filters checked-standard service. When I went to pick up my car, they had done unauthorized work including brake rotators and brake pads. The next day as I am driving to work, my brakes give out, also causing a loss of power steering sending me thru a busy intersection at rush hour. Luckily, I got stopped in a safe place and call them. Explained what happened and they want me to drive it in! I tell them it's not safe, so they send a tow truck. The unauthorized brake work that they did was the issue, the remaining fluid had leaked out causing my brakes to fail. After the repairs they had the nerve to charge me nearly $300.00 because they put my life in jeopardy and performed unauthorized work. Will Never go there again. read more

I initially took my vehicle in for a oil change. I received a coupon when I picked up a few things from the grocery store and thought what the hell $19.99 for an oil change isn't to bad. Especially since the last time I had my oil changed I went somewhere else and paid $70. And all they did was change my oil. Rip off. Anyways, from the moment I walked into this Midas location I was pleased. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and even joked with. The guys at the front were like man we very rarely see this coupon for an oil change. When I picked up the car I was informed we needed new tires and both front and rear brakes needed to be done as well. They had my price quote ready when I picked up the vehicle. The front brakes were done at the Midas in Fremont last, and we had the lifetime brake parts. The service writer in the front as well as the store manager worked with the Fremont Midas manager to make sure we received the parts guarantee for the front brakes. We made an appointment to drop off the car and the brakes were done a few hours later. We felt that we got a great deal and awesome customer service from the front end to the manager. When our other vehicle needs service we know where we will be taking it. Great job guys! read more

Took my car here this morning for a thermostat replacement. I had heard good ratings from the girls over across the street at Precision Hairstyling. I called the day before and was quoted a price for parts and labor. Ken, the owner, asked great questions to make sure what I thought I needed was in fact what I really needed. Price charged matched my quote. The technician was very thorough, making sure there was no air in the lines, all my fans worked, the engine ran cool when it was revved up and hot, etc. He even chatted with me when he was done and explained what he did. All in all it was a great experience, and the best bonus of all is that it turns out Ken was my childhood neighbor from the Bay Area. What a small world! My name is Christina I brought my car here on Wednesday I believe for my front brakes to be repkaced, I felt very confident leaving my vehicle there because the management who helped me at the front desk was very helpful but my appointment was at 8 a.m. and when I called around 11:30 a.m. my vehicle was just being put up to work on he said he would give me a call back in 20 minutes so he did. He proceeded to tell me all the things I needed fixed which is fine but all I asked for was the front brakes he then told me he could not replace the front brakes without replacing the rotors needless to say I told him call my husband. I haven't really driven my car since then but when I got into drive last night I noticed a thumping noise in the rear end he did tell me I had a screw in my tire so I got out to check what the noise was. As I got in my car to drive off I noticed just they left out one of the lug nuts which left my tire really loose. My vehicle is squeaking very loud and wobbling like crazy I can't drive it I'm waiting till tomorrow to see what they say the only noise that concerned me when I brought my vehicle there was my brakes I don't see all of this happening if they would have never touched my rear end when they were only supposed to be replacing front brakes. I am going to call them first thing Monday morning I usually don't leave reviews like this but I am very unhappy. The management seemed very nice so I'm going to give it a shot first thing Monday morning hopefully they could fix the problem with no extra charge because my card definitely did not sound like that before bringing it to them read more

This place is horrible! I have a Brand new car and went in for something very simple and easy, i KNEW for a fact that there was NOTHING wrong with my car before i took it in there, and then suddenly all these things were wrong with it. they quote you one price and then find a way to jack it up, they say one thing and then do another. they put in parts that mysteriously don't work and then they have to order a new one because it's "defected" but then again you are being charged AGAIN! when you have a coupon, they jack up the prices. When i was talking to the guy, there were 3 other customers yelling at him for something or another.. i should have saw the RED FLAG therer! This place is VERY dishonest and i would NOT recommend it to anyone! read more

I went to Midas for my diagnostic test and they called me and told said your car is ready for pick up. So I came to pick up my car and I drove on the freeway when my hood flipped opened and busted my sunroof, cracked my windshield and dented my hood. I called them and explained to them the situation and they said oh well I'm filing a claim against you. I was hella puzzled so I called my insurance company explained to them and Midas is solely responsible for my damages to my vehicle. I could have died to due to the fact I had to merge over two lanes in order to pull of the right side of the road. The funny thing is this just didn't happen to me, it has happened to other customers. Also, one of my friends told me that she got all fluids flushed and they left the oil cap off and she drove from Lodi to Stockton where she lived and her car was overheating and smoking. Then the guy from Midas says can you drive it here. Really? That could have damaged her engine. Seriously? I will never take my vehicles there again and I highly recommend you shouldn't either unless you want a new car from them. Never ever again. read more
