DO NOT use Midas for your auto repairs. Midas spent one week with my car for a simple windshield washer repair. They charged me $699.00 to fix it. After a week, they did not repair it. After asking for a refund, The Manager responded, "We do not give refunds". I left it for another two more weeks in hopes of a repair. After another two weeks with no success. I asked to speak with the regional manager. The Midas manager said the Regional Manager was too busy. I asked for a refund again. They again refused. My attempts with two disputes with Synchrony were unsuccessful. Midas auto repair should keep their work on mufflers only. Was told I could go elsewhere, but had already purchased the Groupon for this store. DO NOT SERVICE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. We took in our atlas cross port for a simple oil change and they broke the hood release - and didn't say a word. The guy that checked me in said -- oh Volkswagen oil changes are tough to do because the cover is hard to take off -- well they did the change and then proceeded to mess up the hood release and either disconnected or snapped the cable. Don't bother.....Very disappointed...they have a new franchise owner and cleaned up the place inside but that doesn't makeup for bad customer service. I made an appointment for oil change it said 8:00 am. I arrived at 8:00 am and sat in the waiting area for almost as hour. The manager never spoke to me after I was checked in or give me an update. At almost 9:00 I walked outside to ask if my car was ready and then he walks up and says "as soon as they get done working on this car, you're next". I could see they had tires off of that car so I deducted, I'm in for a longer wait. I replied "you guys sent me an email with an appointment time of 8:00". He said "that's just a window". Nowhere in the email does it say a window of time. I informed him that I could not stay there any longer that I needed to get back to work. He handed me the keys and never once apologized or anything . Now I'm out an hour of pay. :(. I've been going here for over 1.5 yrs....but this new management leaves a lot to be desired. When I left my vehicle died. So I took it back. He then told me it was MAF sensor. And quoted me 308. Advising he will discount me from the $123. I paid for the exhaust throttle clean out. He asked to leave the car until Monday so I did. When I went to pick it up i was charged 485. When i brought up discount he then stated. " well who told you you needed this". Well you did. You stated you would check what it needs first before doing any work. He then continued to get fisty and say inwas putting words in his mouth. No sir. I was quoted 180 less before you started doing the work. And at no point did i reciieve a phone call for all yhe extra shit. They said Mass Air Sensor. And i agreed to that fix. If youre frustrated that you cant remember your own words. Dont take it out on me pal. Con artists. Went in for an oil change several months ago. I was quoted a reasonable price (I could get it done $30-40 in Houston), but when I went to pick up my car several other charges were added, and it ultimately was fairly expensive (I don't drive a luxury import, either). The worst part was when the mechanic who was handing me my keys told me the engine was making very weird noises when the car was starting. At the time, I had the car over two years, fired it up almost every morning, and never noticed anything wrong, no warning lights even. The mechanic, however, said something was seriously wrong, and I needed something else inspected, blah blah blah, pay more money. My car was running fine, so I ignored him. Recently, I went to North Park Mazda for a 60,000 mile check. Aside from worn break pads, nothing else was noted. The car has been driving fine as well. This Midas ship gives an unscrupulous vibe. It's in a good, convenient location, but the convenience isn't worth the bad faith practices. There's a Valvoline a few blocks north which is quick and won't try to scam you (we've had an inspection and oil change there, no prob), and even the Mazda dealerships will give a better value on the oil change. I wish I could give this place NEGATIVE stars Never ever go here. These people are liars. We came here to have a car window fixed. They charged us more than double for the parts. Not only that but they returned the car to us with a BROKEN power lock on that same door that was working fine that morning when we brought it to the place. When we asked about it, what did they do? Lie to our face and say "oh it was broken" as if we wouldn't know they were lying. If you break it, at least fess up to it because at that point I will respect you more and try to work with you, but if you lie to my face and say something was broken which I know wasn't and then after a little prying you finally fess up, it's going to really piss me off, especially after you try to RIP ME OFF. So here's how it's going to work. We will get the Better Business Bureau on this place and take further action if that isn't enough. Don't ever go here. I would never recommend it to ANYONE ever. It's horrendous. In today's economy, it's a buyer's market and you can take your business elsewhere if you so choose. read more

If you like Dishonesty and Surprises You're in Luck I do not trust Midas, here, the manager, Annette, spoke an unnatural amount of times about "getting me a deal" and "helping me out" and even "calling in a favor" -massive eye roll- in my opinion a ploy to make the prices seem better than they actually are. I got that crappy call where the shop says it's going to be more - a lot more. I was not able to afford to complete the repair - but hey!, they did offer me financing! - another massive eye roll. Please remember when you go into a Midas you are dealing with a SALES PERSON. His or her job is to sell things to you. A Midas store is incentivized to increase their store's numbers for the current period. It is not about customer care or relationships or even honesty, it's about money. I paid $900 for repairs at this Midas and now I have a car that 1) is still in need of repairs and 2) now shakes and stammers when I accelerate or turn. It never did that before. I went in for a radiator replacement and now my car drives like a lemon. I recommend using the Next Door App to find a recommended mechanic in your neighborhood. That's what I knew to do, but I took a chance with Midas and definitely re-learned my lesson - the very, very expensive way. read more

BUT...dunh. dunh. duuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhh...the first guy that I talked to barely spoke and didnt give me half-way clear directions about what I needed to do. He told me to "pull over there" but I guess it wasnt the correct "over there" so when I was getting out fo the car he told me to pull "over there" and kinda waved in the general direction of where I should have been. Oh. Okay. Whatevs. No big deal I guess but a few extra words in the original sentence like "over there by the sign" or perhaps "over there by the jeep" would have been a little more helpful. Took my Honda here for a simple oil change...meanwhile, Midas managed to screw up the oil pan ($600 repair). Not only did they damage the pan, they refused to acknowledge their mistake and lied to me about the consequences of putting an oversized oil plug in as a quick "solution". Save yourself the hassle and headache that will result from dealing with annoying and degrading employees who attempt to shirk off any responsibility from mistakes caused on their part. Better Business Bureau will hear from me shortly. Go to a reputable business like Valvoline for a satisfactory oil change. Don't trust them. My radiator was leaking, which causes the engine to overheat. The mechanic told me that the problem was the radiator. They replaced the entire radiator for almost $1,000. It seemed to work, but sure enough it kept leaking; a few days later, my engine started smoking. They didn't solve the problem, and now I'm out almost $1,000; I think it could've been fixed for less than $100 by replacing the hoses. The worst experience I have had getting an oil change. I went to this Midas because of convenience in location and typically Midas is very reputable...(my mistake) First visit they were not able to service my vehicle because they had one working lift so I went to work and returned a few hours later. The oil change only took 30 minutes but I waited another 15 so they could play around with the service menu on my vehicle because they had no clue to how to turn off the service light. At the end of the day I know I had a choice in places to go and obviously I chose wrong. Lesson learned! read more

I went in with a broken headlight. They said it would cost $200 because the bulb needed replacing, and it was a special bulb, and I had to buy 2 because they only came in packages of two. I couldn't afford this and said no. Not having $200 to fix my headlamp, I waited 5 months, driving around without functioning lights, having believed these people. I finally went to a place up the street and they said that 1. The light was not broken, it worked fine and in fact it was a cheaper $26 piece that needed replacing. 2. The lights I have are not special and not expensive and don't have to be bought in pairs. With an oil change, I got everything fixed and my car ready for inspection for under $100. Tony was working on my car, Darius was at the front desk when I walked in, and throughout the process, and Robert was managing. I came in to get an oil change, and a car I just bought inspected. Instead of doing what shadier folks would've done, Tony stopped the work and came back in to show me a park that'd obviously fallen apart over the years, and suggested I take my Jetta to the VW dealership rather than wait on a part they'd have to order there at Midas. If there was a way I could write a NEGATIVE 5 STAR review, I would. This was BY FAR the WORST experience I have ever had with a repair place. I can tell you without a doubt that I will NEVER take any vehicle I own to Midas again, to the point that if it was the only option, I'd figure out how to repair it myself. And I know nothing of cars. But I figure, even if I was blind, deaf, and dumb; I'd do a better job of fixing my car than they did. Without question. Because after I was forced to spend over $1300 in Cash, demanded by the idiot GM Jason, I ended up having to take my vehicle to the dealership because they messed up the repair so bad. Do you know that the TOYOTA DEALERSHIP charged me only $825 for all the parts and labor? They were very kind to me after my absolutely horrific experience with Midas. There are some good things that came out of this. I work near this Midas. And I know a lot of people. So I'll make sure that everyone I know doesn't go there. Because I sure wouldn't want anyone to have the same experience as I did. Ever. So let me give the rundown of this experience - 1. My car got towed here despite my wishes. 2. The price was negotiated to around $600 for a fuel pump. 3. The repair was done, and the price was increased exponentially to $1200 +. 4. They wouldn't talk the price down, and when I tried, I was forced to pay cash. 5. I got the car back, and it still didn't work. 6. I took it to the Toyota Dealership and explained who repaired it. 7. They only charged me $825 for the parts and labor. My car was at the dealership getting the correct parts ordered and finding more parts that needed to be ordered because of what Midas did for 3 weeks. The Director at the dealership sympathized with my experience and did not charge me extra. Here is the actual costs and parts ordered that had to be replaced so the car would actually run - Fuel Gage assembly - $99.30 Fuel subtank - $21.49 Regulator assembly - $152.14 Plate sub assembly - $178.92 Fuel tank cushion - $6.35 Fuel pump spacer - $1.67 O-ring - $3.94 Fuel tank holder - $4.40 Fuel Suc? Went for my inspection on a Tuesday at 10:45 to intentionally avoid waiting for hours. When I arrived I was greeted with a smile from multiple people and helped right away. They all just stared at me and continued talking amongst themselves... After around 5 minutes, one guy approached me from a distance and asked what I wanted. I'm then told that I have to go inside first... I go inside only for one the people that was staring at me to walk in and help me. Then 45 minutes for an oil change ?! On a small sedan?! This is a well qualified auto repair and maintenance location that I highly recommend going to. Davin, was a very superb and excellent mechanic. Which if I'm not mistaken, he's the manager. He's 100% honest and truthful. He doesn't try to rip you off nor in any way was he around the bush. He sees it apples for apples.
