    Bun Bo hue

Food here is very authentic and delicious! Staff was nice and very efficient. Would recommend for authentic viet food.

Super cozy little spot! Parkings a bit small, but nonetheless was able to find parking right away. Food was quick to get out. I ordered a bun boe hue(large) and chicken wings. Never had tried bun boe hue before but it was pretty good, the lemongrass citrusy flavor was delicious in the soup and the wings were super fresh and delicious!!! The wings had garlic and jalepenos and were slightly sweet but the flavors complimented eachother. Service was good and quick and they seemed pretty busy on a Sunday.

There aren't too many restaurants in SD that have this type of Vietnamese food. We came here for lunch and got com hen, mi quang, banh nam, and banh bot loc. The last two items came out 20 minutes later, so we thought that they forgot LOL. The food is authentic and they are known for their bun rieu or bun bo hue! It's cash only and service is pretty nonexistent, FYI.

Visited this place on the drive through Linda V. Didn't notice this place at first. It's like a hole in the wall spot. Nothing fancy but you'll get a bang for your buck. I really wanted to try their fried chicken as the picture on the wall had me sold. Unfortunately it was not what I expected. It sort of sweet. To sweet. I balanced it out by eating lettuce with. The chicken was cooked perfectly though. The guy tried to talk me out of getting the chicken cause he said it was 15 mins wait. I got the chicken. But I should have listened. Haha The egg rolls was delicious.

The pho here hits different (spicy beef noodle soup). Highly recommend. The coffee, very strong with a distinctive taste. 3rd sip into yours hooked on the style though. Been coming here for years. Awesome mom& pop service too. Kinda small inside. Great hole in the wall find.

A cozy spot for some delicious and very fairly priced food! We got a Bun Cha Gio Thit Nuong (L) and it was huge. Portions were also generous for the Bun Cha Ca (S). They both came with heaping portions of vegetables and were filling. Food came out just a few minutes after ordering. They are cash only! We will be back to try more of their food.

We recently ate here for the first time and enjoyed each dish that we ordered. Most authentic Vietnamese noodle house that we have found since traveling to Vietnam. Friendly service (they do have English speakers), clean restaurant, large free parking lot, CASH ONLY. Dishes are ample portions with plenty of fresh veg on the side. We plan to go back and try new dishes. Definitely worth checking out if you like Vietnamese food other than pho.

This Is the only place in San Diego in which I will eat BBH. I have tried the other place in city Heights and my family and I thought it was odd tasting and very sweet. I've been here a couple times when I crave BBH and it honestly takes me back to my childhood where I used to eat at authentic Vietnamese restaurants with the TV playing Vietnamese cooking shows and menus that are taped onto the walls. The only thing I get here is the BBH and and I love to put extra sate chili sauce because it's that good. They also sell their chili sauce on the side in jars if you wanna grab that too, and I think they sell cha Lua too. The vibe here is very authentic Vietnamese and so are the workers who are the owners. They are very sweet and they're really friendly. It's cash only so make sure you have that. I think they have ATM inside. Parking is a little tight. I hope this place stays open forever because there is so little good Vietnamese food in San Diego already so this place needs to stay open so I can eat bun Bo hue when I crave it and am missing home.

Mien Trung's bun Bo hue was really good. We got a large to share since it wasn't that much more ( I love a good price anchor) The broth was more pork focused instead of shrimpy which gave it a light flavorful broth. I thought the portion size was decent but after going to Hoai Hue right after and getting their bbh dac biet which was bigger for not much more, I think Mien Trung is still decent value. The cash only thing isn't a big deal since they have an ATM right inside their shop. Lotta viet locals came into eat while we were there which is great to see. If I were sick, I'd definitely come eat this bbh because the broth was really refreshing.

Great quality, Great quantity, Great value This is the restaurant for you if you are looking for an authentic and genuine Vietnamese dining experience with great food at a great price. From the aromas and taste to the ambience and regulars, everything about this restaurant screams genuine. This has got to be one of my favorite hidden gems that I have tried recently and I am surprised with how few of my friends and colleagues know about this place. The only potential downside of this restaurant is the fact that they are Cash Only but this is a very common practice for genuine asian restaurants back where I am from. I sat for a meal for two and ordered the following: Bun Bo Hue Dac Biet Bun Rieu Dac Biet: Tangy, rich, light. This is probably the best Bun Rieu that I have had in all of San Diego. Cha Gio (Egg Rolls): Crispy, flakey, refreshing. This dish comes with 6 eggrolls and lettuce wraps along with a savory chili fish sauce (nuoc mam cham). The eggrolls are made fresh meaning each bite is hot, crispy, and flakey. I enjoy lining the lettuce wrap with the chili sauce at the table and wrapping the egg roll with the lettuce and finally dipping that all in the fish sauce. Few words need to be said for how simple yet delicious the egg rolls here are. They are also quite cheap so I highly recommend this appetizer

i was taking my parents around san diego and they wanted viet food so i took them here! we came around 2pm on a sunday, and there was a small parking lot in the back. my mom loves bun mang vit, and this place definitely satisfied her craving for it. i hadn't had that dish in a long time, so it was so nice to come to a place that could make it authentically. i've been on the search for good bun bo hue in socal, so that's what i ordered. it was definitely good, and i added more fish paste & chili oil to make it more spicy. i'm biased to the bun bo hue in san Jose since this dish is usually more flavorful, but this place is definitely one of the better places that i've tried in socal! the service was good, and the food came out pretty quick. the restaurant felt very homey and authentic. make sure you bring cash for this place as well!

If it's cash-only, then you KNOW it's about to be good! I stopped by for a weekday lunch per a friend's recommendation. There was plenty of parking so I found a spot and made my way inside this casual but lively restaurant. I was seated right away, and even though they seemed busy, the server was attentive and my order was taken right away. I decided to try their spicy beef noodle and it did not disappoint. There was plenty of tender meat, and the broth was flavorful and yes- super spicy. I'm glad I ordered a Thai tea for some sweet relief! Overall, I would definitely recommend you check them out next time you're in the area and craving some authentic Vietnamese dishes!

    Banh beo
    Katie L.

Such a legit hole in wall type of restaurant! Circled around because Google Maps kept leading us to different plazas but it's on the side as a stand alone restaurant down the street with its own parking lot. Got the banh beo, chicken wings, and duck bamboo shoot noodles #7 bun mang vit Portions are big and great value for what you get! I got the duck noodles because I don't see it often on the menu at most viet restaurants. It was great, at first I got a kick from the spicy chili oil in the broth but it isnt too spicy at all! Lots of pieces of duck meat and came with veggies to add to the noodles. The fried chicken wings were the best tho! Extra crispy and fried to perfection and beautifully golden too! Loved the flavor on the wings. The banh bao was good, comes with a bowl of fish sauce to dip or pour and two pieces of cha lua. I will say ordering may be a bit more difficult because the staff that took our order seemed to only speak Vietnamese but our broken Vietnamese came thru to say which items we wanted to order lol also note that this place is cash only but there's an atm located inside the restaurant. The dishes came out quick and there was a lot of seating available inside.
