It had been years since I'd been to Mighty-O, and I decided on a whim to stop in the other morning while walking by. I just wanted a little snack, so I got one "cini mini" mini donut with cinnamon-sugar topping, and one mini pumpkin spice glazed donut. I also got a tall cappuccino. Now, it sounds picky, but I can't stand when coffee places seem to have trouble making anything bigger than a short cappuccino. Call me heretical, but sometimes I want more beverage than 8 oz, and I know it's possible to get adequate foam in a tall cappuccino!! Okay, rant over. The point is, this Mighty-O barista did an excellent job with my foamy, delicious, 12 oz capp. Yay!! More importantly, donuts: I adored my cini mini, which had the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar to sate my sweet tooth, without being too sweet, and also wasn't messy! Score. I didn't feel the mini pumpkin glazed was that special. The pumpkin flavor was subtle and I wanted more. Next time, I'll get a full-size cinnamon sugar, or try another cake type that isn't glazed. Granted, the pumpkin spice is a seasonal item that won't affect my future visits. While I'm a dedicated omnivore, I do appreciate their donuts being vegan and accessible to many eaters! read more

Literally my go to for donuts. These cake donuts are so freakin moist and packed w flavor without being too overly sweet. LOOOOVE THE FRENCH TOAST DONUT, my absolute favorite. The best part is that they're all VEGAN, but you wouldn't even know unless they told you. Small downside, I think you have to come early in the morning (at least before noon) to get some of the good picks because they only make so much of each kind to last throughout the day until it's sold out. Mighty O is an awesome spot for donuts in Seattle, especially if you're vegan! They don't really advertise this unless you ask, but all their donuts are vegan. I love that they have the classics, like a maple bar, but also mix it up a little with flavors like French toast. They also more recently started selling cream filled donuts (what I would call Boston cream). All the donuts, both cake and raised, have a good texture. My favorites are the maple bar and the nutty vanilla. Also, this would be a great place to work or study- lots of space and great natural light. read more

I stopped here the other weekend when a friend was visiting from out of town and got a variety of doughnuts to try. Is it just me, or has Mighty O gone downhill in recent years? I first tried them in 2011 on my first trip to Seattle, and was impressed by the light, fluffy consistency of their cake donuts. The entire company is vegan, and they offer a great variety of flavors daily. Mostly cake donuts, but they do have a few raised flavors as well as an apple fritter. This location is conveniently located in Capitol Hill, on the first floor of a loft building. The interior is clean and minimalist, with a small amount of bar seating. I came in around 3pm, and found the display case looking a bit stale. I wanted to try a raised donut, but the ones in the case looked sad and deflated, so I settled on two different cake donuts-the French Toast, and Raspberry Riot. Both were just okay. Slightly overcooked and chewy, the consistency was more bready and far too dense than a donut should be. The icing was very good, full of authentic flavors and the perfect level of sweetness. Both were good dipped in coffee, which is excellent here. They use beans from Cafe Vita, which is some of the best coffee around. I rarely meet a donut I don't like, but in my opinion, Mighty O just isn't worth the calories. read more

They were more of the cakey type donut, thick and fluffy inside rather than the ones where you bite in and it immediately deflates. I like these better as I think they are less oily and sweet! The Pumpkin Spice and French Toast flavors were SO GOOD I highly recommend those. The lemon poppyseed was good too but not as good as the other two. I like this location of Mighty-O a lot because it's in downtown Cap Hill and has tons of seating. They tend to have limited supply on weekends by around 11 am or so. Plan on getting their early if you want your pick! I always go for the regular glazed donut (don't know why but this one is my fav) and a drip coffee. They serve medium and dark roast of Cafe Vita which goes well with any of the donuts you pick. The best part about these donuts is they don't use any eggs or dairy, but I think they are just as tasty. The lighting is a great also - I've been a couple times and have seen people with their laptops or reading a book. Since it's not a full cafe, you can usually find a seat which is nice. Give this place a shot if you are a donut or pastry lover. You won't be disappointed! read more

Truly mighty donuts! I am so happy that I happened to walk by this donut shop during my trip in Seattle. It was happy hour (5 - 6 PM on a weekday from what I recall), so donuts were 50% off. I really regretted only purchasing one donut - the French Toast. It was so good! Not too sweet and good flavor. I was craving more after I finished one.
