I was so excited to try this spot after reading these rave reviews on Yelp, and let me say..my fellow Yelpers did NOT disappoint! I came here before a show at the Adrienne Arsht center, which was perfect because the service was fast and it is only about 5 minutes away. My favorite thing about this spot is how I felt like I was back in New England immediately, something I've yet to find in Miami. It was reminiscent of a local oyster shack in Maine, and their selection of oysters was very impressive... everything from the west coast to my favorite from Wellfleet, Massachusetts. I never would have found this place without the hype generated on Yelp.. it is a super small corner restaurant in between Midtown and Wynwood with only a discrete oyster sign marking it's location. Since it is so small and quite popular you definitely should make a reservation. I recommend trying a sampler plate of the oysters so you can get a small taste of the different flavors from coast to coast, this is what we did and it was super fun! Also- an appetizer of the croissants with lobster jam and mango chutney is an absolute must! For a main dish, there is a good selection of fresh fish, but for some reason I decided to order something called Thanksgiving Dinner (which consisted of chicken, and a stuffing casserole). Super good, but next time, I'll order seafood. Another thing I will say about Mignonette, is the service is excellent! Everyone from the moment we walked in was welcoming, attentive, and friendly. Ok, so this is the BEST seafood place I've been to in Miami and one of the Top 10 I've been to in the US. Mignonette reminded me a lot of one of my all-time favorite seafood spots - Eventide in Portland, Maine, with Eventide taking the top spot over Mignonette. That being said, being mentioned alongside Eventide is amazing company to be in. My friend and I went there on a Sunday afternoon, but I think this would be a great spot to go to at night, so I'd recommend that instead. We had: Wine/Champagne- we didn't order wine, but they had an excellent list of old world whites and reds. For being Miami, which isn't a huge wine city in my opinion, they had a wonderful list. Much better than most of the high end restaurants in South Beach. Fresh Squeezed Lemonade- not too sweet or tart, just right and perfectly refreshing. Loved it. Warm Croissants with Lobster Butter & Mango Jam- was Simply AMAZING. This is a MUST order to start off with. Chilled South African Lobster Tail- they're slightly smaller than a Maine lobster tail, but have an amazing flavor to them, much more flavor than a Maine tail. Highly recommend this. Chilled King Crab Legs- was very good, but the South African Lobster blew it out of the water, so I'd pass on these and order the lobster tail instead. Florida Grouper Filet- what can I say...I LOVE Florida Grouper...one of my favorite fish. It was excellently prepared, tender, flaky, flavorful. The skin didn't stick to the flesh and had a nice seared taste to it. The accompanying mashed potatoes were amazing...and I'm not even a huge potato fan! Meyer Lemon Square with Berries- was pretty tart, but an excellent way to clean the palate after a wonderful seafood meal. Couldn't have been more pleased. Overall, this is the BEST seafood place in Miami, hands down. It's a little off the beaten path in an odd neighborhood and away from the hustle & bustle of South Beach, but it's WELL WORTH the drive there. Friends in town, dinner plans needed, Wynwood location = perfect excuse to get to Mignonette, and it didn't hurt either that the Wynwood event we were headed to after dinner was only a 4 minute walk away! Mignonette is quite a small place, and I definitely give them credit for allowing me to alter my reservation from 4 people to 6 the day before and still keep the same time (we actually some how even ended up with 7 jammed into the table lol). Moral of the story, make a reservation for sure! The place was full when we left. AMBIANCE We dined in the side room, which seemed rather bare and nothing to write home about. I'm not sure if the main dining room is slightly better. Either way though, good company + good food means ambiance isn't much of a concern. SERVICE Jason our server did an amazing job at taking orders, checking in on us, and putting up with our drinking antics (some us may have been day time drinking before dinner lol). The tuxedo shirts are pretty amusing as well! FOOD When you think Danny Serfer, you think Blue Collar style comfort food, but after eating at Mignonette it's clear his talents extend further than heavy carbs. With a party of 7 I was able to try quite a lot of the menu, and I'll be honest, some of the things I tried were only 4 star worthy in my mind....but luckily the things I ordered hit it out of the park and were more than deserving of my 5 stars! Will definitely be recommending my friends come here ASAP. We decided to start off with oysters to share. One dozen from each coast, which meant 3 of each type available. I truly love fresh oysters and I really enjoy these fresh oyster "taste tests". It always wows me how different oyster varieties can taste. I can't remember which were my favorite, but the options included: Dabob, Fanny Bay, Skookum, Denman, Riptide, Beausoleil, Deep Cove. While most of the group went for one entree I decided to span the menu and try an app, a salad, and throw in a veggie side for good measure. Honestly, this may have been the best plate of octopus I've ever had. Get the OCTOPUS people, it pairs perfectly with pigeon peas! The BOSTON LETTUCE salad also wowed me more than I was expecting, as the dressing is absolutely delicious. For a side I had to go with the SWISS CHARD which was just right with it's lemon sauce. The one dish that didn't wow me was the bite of the Monkfish. DRINKS Beer and wine only. Those in the group drinking beer seemed happy with the selection and all ordered the same thing lol. Those (like me) who went with wine found the list to be pretty comprehesive and priced from $38+. We ended up with a French (Rhone region) Grenache/Syrah blend that was quite nice! PARKING We ubered over to be responsible, but other friends that met us there did find parking a bit of a challenge. There is valet available however. My only regret is not saving room for dessert because butterscotch bread pudding would have probably made my night (ok not true, the octopus already made my night lol, but it would have been a nice ending). A little pricey, a little " uptown Spartan".... Very fresh seafood expertly prepared with interesting sauces and accompaniments. My baked redfish was served with spicy lentils with small shrimp. My wife's sea scallops perfectly cooked, served with 2 sides ... 1 of them being the tastiest Brussel sprouts I've ever tasted. Known for their fresh oysters but the guy in the kitchen shines just as bright. Lastly, not to be overlooked is a most friendly well tuned staff from the person who answered the phone when called to see if there was a table to the hostess who seated us and knowledgeable wait staff that served us. well worth digging a little deeper for an enjoyable evening. read more

If you're a seafood fan or a Blue Collar fan, and you haven't been to Mignonette yet, you are doing yourself a serious disservice. First thing to know about Mignonette is that you must order oysters. They have 8 types available on a daily basis, and if you know your preference, more power to you. We asked for some guidance, knowing only that our group tends to prefer the bigger East Coast oysters. We ended up with amazing beausoleil, Irish Point, Marin Miyaki, and malpeque bivalves which we gobbled up without a moment's hesitation. The overwhelming fave at our table was the beausoleil - and armed with that knowledge, I will most certainly return for more deliciousness soon! Oysters weren't enough for us (clearly), and we moved on to the popcorn conch, the warm croissants served with lobster butter and mango jam, and sides of the roasted cauliflower (with smoked trout roe mayo) and the sauteed mushrooms. The popcorn conch was a bit disappointing to me - a little too greasy for my taste. The croissants with lobster butter and mango jam were phenomenal. I couldn't decide which spread I liked better - they were both amazing. Now for the veggies. Chef Danny Serfer does veggies, and does them well. His offerings at Mignonette do not disappoint. The roasted cauliflower with smoked trout roe mayo was great. The mayo offered a nice salty contrast to the roasted cauliflower. The real stars were the simple sauteed mushrooms - no frills, just delicious. If you're a mushroom fan, order these - you won't be disappointed. We, of course, had wine to go with our light dinner. The wine menu is organized in various ways, including by color, by food pairing, and by origin. It can be a bit confusing, so don't hesitate to ask your server (which is ultimately what we did). And of course, we saved room for dessert - a deliciously decadent Heath bread pudding topped with a cayenne whipped cream. It was the perfect combo of sweetness and spice to end our meal. Prices are on par with the Miami dining scene - expect roughly $60/person for a filling dinner with drinks. Street parking is plentiful, but there is also $3 valet parking available at S&S Diner. Hurry up and eat at Mignonette before the line stretches out the door! Chef Danny Serfer's latest informal fine dining offering combines a seafood raw bar with lots of amazing flavors you know with new preparations you hadn't imagined, or just plain can't or won't make at home. Their nighttime menu features prime rib, but we visited for Sunday brunch. We started with Warm Croissants served with mango jam and lobster butter. Both condiments were amazing, but the Lobster butter captivated me! We lobster butter to put on just about everything else :) Chef said it's a multi-day process to create the perfect lobster stock, clarify it, and mix it properly into the butter, then give it time to cool along with its chunks of claw meat. Best to proceed immediately to the raw bar. We chowed down on some local fresh peel & eat shrimp sprinkled with Old Bay seasoning (I think), dunking them in lobster butter (sinfully delish!) or the house cocktail sauce. We sampled Oysters Bienville (spinach, bacon and a few other things) and Oysters Rockerfeller too, followed by a plate of the finest, freshest raw oysters I've had in Miami. I'm not going to lie, my oyster slurping has been confined to the Monty's in the past, all frozen likely. These oysters are a million times more delicate, tender and looking to accept the house purple sauce. If you like deviled eggs, the Lobster Deviled Eggs are a must try. I call them #GringoSushi and they're filled with tasty chunks of fresh lobster on top of the half egg, and melt physically in your mouth. Inspired, we ordered the Turducken Burger and a Fried Conch Po Boy to share, and devoured them. Turducken was invented by Hebert's Specialty Meats in Louisiana by stuffing a chicken inside a duck, then stuffing the duck inside a turkey. Needless to say this burger is STELLAR! The Turducken burger is served with a little "mayonette" and smothered in yummy muenster cheese. It tastes like a cross between a burger and sausage, and is simply unlike any other burger in this patty crazed town. The Fried Conch Po Boy is served on a Portuguese bun smothered in a tangy sort of remoulade sauce. Both sandwiches were served with the house french fried potato chips - round chips that are kind of crispy like chips, but have a warm inside like a french fry. We topped it off with a little Panther coffee and the house Strawberry Rhubarb Pie a la mode. Apparently, rhubarb is an acquired taste - which I long ago picked up, and if you like the flavor, this is a place to indulge it! They also serve a fantastic desert everyone else calls "Crack Pie" but they simply call "Biscayne Pie" made out of sugar, spice and everything nice. Okay, I am complicit in the crime committed tonight at Mignonette. Looking back at it if you are foolish enough to order a New England lobster roll in Miami in January you're more to blame than the restauranteur that sticks it on the menu. That was my "creative" idea of a starter. Chokingly tough, thawed out, beefy chunks of lobster that started things off on the wrong foot. But actually the misdirection that constituted our welcome lies squarely with the waiter. We arrived and my wife was starving. Before even ordering she asked if the meal came with bread and he responded yes that it would be right out. Thirty minutes later, after several promptings, out comes, no lie, drumroll, a BUN from a lobster roll. Later when the bill came and we questioned why we were charged for this he quickly obliged and removed it and another failed item from the bill, (but thoughtfully left the obligatory 18% associated gratuity tacked on!) By then we went with the flow and paid it just to get out of Dodge The featured, or hold it, their anointed "fancy (see lower right of photo) redfish" had wonderful morsels of moist fresh from New Orleans redfish, unfortunately covered with a woefully rich andouille sauce. The couple of pieces of rock shrimp floating in were of sublime quality though. This, and the raw bar, which we admittedly did not partake in are probably their strength here. A buttermilk pie topped with a scoop of ice cream, was so sickeningly sweet we wondered the chefs technique for concentrating sugar to such an alarmingly sharp crescendo. This is probably one of a few restaurants in Miami that you really taste the freshness of the seafood. The oyster selection changes frequently depending on the season and where they are being imported from. Although it is a tiny bit pricey, it is really worth it. I left obsessed with their sweet potato wedges because apart from loving sweet potato in general, it is baked with something that gives it an extra crisp and taste to it. The restaurant is not the big. Actually, not big at all. It is located in a little corner across from...a cemetery. Yup, your view is of a cemetery as you munch away. At first I was weirded out about it but after eating the food I can care less of the view. I would recommend this restaurant to every one. The staff are all young, good looking and extremely friendly. Which create an awesome experience. We had oysters from four different regions, Scallops with Baked Sweet Potato Wedges, Crispy Skin Snapper with Sautéed Cauliflower and the Grilled Chicken Po Boy with Fries. I'm tired of the "New American" comfort cuisine trending in all the high end restaurants. Tired of fatty mac and cheese with truffle oil, overblown cheeseburgers and meatloaf. Mignonette is all about seafood, and it's simple, yet different. Chef Serfer created a unique menu of delicious simple food with unexpected little elements of bright and delicious taste to enhance it. For example, the warm croissant plate. They a just big warm buttery croissants. However, these croissants are served with a decadent lobster butter, and a mango marmalade that is unbelievably tasty! I came here for Happy Hour yesterday, and I will admit, the reason why I came was primarily to kill time and let traffic die down after running an errand in the area! However, I was pleasantly rewarded with great food AND less traffic, so, win-win. First of all, the interior is great! Even with the artisinal lightbulbs (*eyeroll*), it exudes charm without being overly hipsterish. Larry S. and I sat at the bar, and were welcomed warmly even though we were dressed "down", which is actually normal for me. HA! It was happy hour, so we availed ourselves of the special pricing on appetizers. We enjoyed the lobster deviled eggs, the steamed clams and popcorn conch. The deviled eggs were fabulous. I make deviled eggs on the reg and these blew mine away, which was pretty much what I was expecting! The clams were also delicious; steamed perfectly in a rich, umami broth. The little sidecar of drawn butter that came with it was superfluous! The conch was totally tender with a spicy batter and both cocktail and remoulade sauce on the side. I used the clam broth as a dip for the conch, it was that good! So, all in all, delicious food in a neat little setting, with pretty decent service to boot, but a few dings that keep it from being 5-star: 1. The food is great and high quality, but not a value. We were not intending to eat a full meal, but we still spent $35 with tax and tip on a snack. 2. The music was not too loud, but Beastie Boys in a bistro? Really? 3. TONS of waitstaff, bartenders, line cooks, bussers milling about in a small space felt very claustrophobic. I know, I know, if they didn't have enough staff, then people would complain about the slow service. First world problems! 4. I am only mentioning this here since I had other "constructive criticism".. the batter on the conch wasn't sticking, so as we were digging in, we got either conch or batter. Not sure if it was an issue with fry oil temp, the conch temp or what, but it's worth mentioning, especially since the conch itself was so perfect. Last weekend I finally got to try Mignonette, the new oyster bar in Edgewater that has practically been the talk of the town, or well, Twitter, for the past few months. The restaurant is owned by one of the master minds behind Blue Collar, another Miami favorite, and specializes in oysters, as the name implies. These are sourced from the East and West Coast and proudly featured in a massive marquee smack on top of the kitchen area. Movie Theatre Marquee sign featuring the oysters of the day I had the chance to try Mignonette with a group of friends, and after the meal was over our opinion about it was unanimous: the restaurant is great and worth coming back for, but you must know what to order, as some of the dishes are weaker than the rest. The main issue, I think, were the appetizers. Take the Clams Casino, for example. Despite the meatiness and freshness of the clams, the butter and bacon sauce they were served in totally overpowered the flavor of the fish. I'm not saying it wasn't good. It was. But it tasted like... bacon. Not like clams. A similar thing happened with the Lobster Deviled Eggs. The mountain of mayo completely took over the dish and made it difficult to appreciate the lobster chunks on top. Again, not bad, only that it tasted mostly like a regular deviled egg. On the bright side, the conch popcorn was pretty good, definitely the best of the appetizers, and paired well with the aioli sauce it's served with. Lobster Deviled Eggs: OK taste, but don't see the point if you can barely taste the lobster. Popcorn Conch appetizer: delicious, especially when paired with the aioli sauce. Once we moved on to the star of the night, the oysters, things improved. We started out with a mix of both coasts, the Royal Miyagi, Effingham and Beausoleil oysters, which were served in a circular metal plate filled with ice, and with the requisite cocktail and mignonette sauces on the side (though personally, I like to have them on their own!). The plate comes with a little yellow paper slip with the names of the oysters in clockwise order, which comes in handy as it can sometimes be a little tricky to tell them apart. All of them were fresh, plump, and pretty reasonably priced at $3.00 a pop. Another favorite of the night were the grilled South African lobster tails, which were incredibly sweet, juicy and probably one of the best lobsters I've ever had. You could taste the grill in them, and surprisingly, they did not get dry in the cooking process. How do they do it?! I would come back for them over and over again, and for just $29, they were very well priced. The scallops were another great choice, perfectly tender, just the right size and served with a side of mushrooms that complemented the fish nicely. To conclude, when it comes to Mignonette, my recommendation is: stick to the oysters and their more simple dishes, and your experience will most likely be great. Their seafood, as well as their service, is fantastic and the ambiance is fun and friendly. Just like with many other restaurants in Miami, it's all about choosing the right dishes. read more

Bottles of wine are 25% off and the selection is great (Austria, Slovenia, Grower Champagne, etc). The oysters are $2 each and wine by the glass is $9. The service is always very friendly. Came here for a business lunch today. It opened promptly at noon with a line of people waiting to get in. We had reservations and were seated at a nice corner table. We were asked if we would like still or sparkling water. We said sparkling but there seemed to be a confusion as we were brought both still and sparkling San pelligrino. We ordered deviled eggs with lobster and a half dozen oysters for an appetizer. Main course I had the scallops but appetizer portion and my colleague had the grouper. What a cool spot! And such great seafood. The ambiance here seems a little casual, but you are pleasantly surprised with excellent food and huge portions. The most notable thing that I ordered was the Branzino, and I couldn't believe my eyes when i saw its size. Perhaps one of best I've ever ordered, I loved the crispy skin on the outside. Who knew there were perfectly cooked, meaty lobsters to be had without breaking the bank in Miami, FL? Probably the same people that have been enjoying the fresh delicious ingredients that Daniel Serfer has been cooking up for brunch and dinner for over three years. Those lobsters were delicious but the favorites (that we ordered two of) were the warm croissants with lobster butter and the lobster roll. The lobster roll was so good that I want one right now and will want one everytime I relive the phenomenal memory of dining at Mignonette, a perfectly eclectic little restaurant with big windows and great service in a newer yet still reasonably quiet neighborhood. Don't skip out on dessert. It changes; however, we had a delicious hazelnut mousse pie with Oreo cookie crust. Not too rich, just perfect. The best part about this restaurant is that Daniel Serfer meets reservations!! So make yours and enjoy heaven, at a very reasonable price. Oh, the wine list is like the restaurant... read this was a Michelin star restaurant so we decided to come based on what we read. super disappointed!! no ambiance at all. tables are wobbly and floor is dirty when you walk In. if you are trying to make an impression don't go here. you park next to a run down field. king crab was out of control salty. bass fish with capers tasted of pure salt. the only thing good was oysters Rockefeller no liquor license so forget a nice cocktail this is a trap for a nice restaurant and really isn't. if oysters are your thing it might be but otherwise I do not recommend- plenty of other non Michelin restaurants that surpass this. read more

I was so freaking excited... I reserved this spot for our 9th wedding anniversary (key word here is RESERVED) two weeks ahead with the idea to try the Miami Spice Menu. We arrived at 8:50pm though our reservation was at 9pm yet we didn't get seated until 9:40pm. Yea... I decided I would still stay neutral even after asking how long our wait would be and being told they couldn't give us an estimated time and seeing people without a reservation being seated before us. When we were finally seated (after standing in the drizzling rain) the server took her time to approach us, did not provide us with the miami spice menu let alone even mention it but they had given us two glasses of champagne so we were supposed to be fine. The Miami spice menu changes weekly so the menu that was on the website and I had longed to try was no longer available. I settled for some mediocre shrimp nicely placed on a purée of (what I think to be) purple potatoes? With a few pecans sprinkled on top and jalapeño jelly. It was tasty but nothing to blow my mind away in neither presentation, taste or texture. I feel like I could have gone to publix and bought those same shrimp and mashed up some potatoes let them get to room temperature and called it gourmet or something. I then received my entree... when you see me take my time with food it does not mean that it is so spectacular that I want to cherish every moment of it... no! It means that other things around me are far more interesting to pay attention to. It wasn't bad but ehhh. Swordfish over possible navy beans with maybe chorizo and something that could have been a tomatillo thing on top. Notice how I'm not sure of anything please. Dessert was bread pudding and I would like to note that the cayenne whip cream that I was so looking forward to was nowhere in sight. This was by far the biggest disappointment of the night. By the time we were done the restaurant was closing and we felt we were being rushed out... our bottle of wine was not even wrapped up until we asked for it to be (as it should legally be when you are taking a half consumed bottle with you) It wasn't bad but it sure as hell was not fantastic. Set in a post modern seafood counter setting you might find in Seattle or San Francisco, Mignonette offers a pretty fabulous spread of oysters and stone crabs, and a great selection of fresh fish, too. (The redfish is light and fresh, and the house usually offers a great whole fish special, too, a rather large dish.) Mignonette has one of the most reasonable price to quality ratios in town, too. It is a sibling of Miami's Blue Collar. And while the decor here doesn't really bring blue collar workers to mind, the pricing is moderate given the high quality here. Very nice wine selection and delicious desserts, too. Try the lemon squares for a very light treat. Highly recommended, and sure to become regular spot for me. read more

I am a big fan of Cobb salad and this is one of the best Cobb salads you can get in Miami. It includes both crab and shrimp, but it is missing avocados and cheese. I think the best part of the Cobb salad here is the giant chunks of bacon, which I believe are pancetta. The oysters are extremely tasty, but be prepared to spend $3 per oyster. The best food in this restaurant just might be the various side dishes. The cauliflower is my wife's favorite, but I am a fan of the brussel sprouts. There are times when we are tempted to come to this restaurant simply to eat two or three vegetable dishes as our meal. Unfortunately, I have never felt the urge to buy any of the fresh fish so I can not comment on that in this review. The freshest thing that I've noticed are the oysters and you certainly should come to try them out. read more

Went there with friends for lunch today. We were in town for umf and walked about 20 mins to get there just to try the lobster tails, but they didn't serve it during brunch, and I was disappointed by that. We decided to get the lobster roll, deviled eggs and the benedicts instead, and we liked them. Fresh and tasty. In fact I was going to give it 4 stars, because I didn't get to try the lobster tails and it still kills me inside even when I'm back to L.A. at this point, however our server was really nice, cute and funny, and he deserved that star! Love this place. Stopped in for an impromptu lunch on Sunday with friends. Great food, great service! Miami Spice is still going on so we had a little wait and hung out at the bar. At the table we shared a dozen and a half of their east coast oysters...they were the best oysters I've had in awhile. 2 in our group did Miami Spice: 1-po boy clam sandwich, 2-lobster Benedict. Danny Serfer knows seafood, and how to cook it. Make a reservation, as the place gets packed and allow yourself time to find parking. There is very limited street parking, but supposedly they have an arrangement with S&S Diner, to use their lot when they're closed. Service is excellent and the staff sincerely friendly, helpful and unpretentious. Hell, they wear tuxedo T-Shirts like little baby jesus who likes to party. The crowd is equally cheerful and refreshingly un-Miami. An eclectic mix of Woody Allen artsy types and wine lovers who know how to have a conversation without shouting their business out to the entire restaurant. We ordered the monkfish with smoked trout roe and broccolini, a side of spinach and water cress, and the grouper with a side of mushrooms. Both filets of fish were cooked to perfection, crispy sear on one side, medium center. The flavor on the vegetables and sauces was amazing, everything had that umami that usually stems from the use of MSG, but I hope that's not the case here. Smoked trout roe? Genius. Smoky, little bubbles of just right salty flavor in your mouth. My one complaint is the heavy use of butter in everything, including the vegetables. If I return I will be sure to ask them to hold it. For dessert, they have their infamous Heath Bar Bread Pudding, same as Blue Collar's. I order BP whenever I see it on a menu, it's my ultimate comfort dessert. This one is very, very, sweet and dense You get lots of crunch from the crushed candy bars inside, it feels more like a warm chocolate & nut cake. They top it with spiced whipped cream, which lessens the toothache slightly, but it is still oh so sweet. Goat milk ice cream would be a better topping to balance it out. The seasonal pumpkin pie with chocolate is a must. It's not like any pumpkin pie I ever had. The crust was dark and slightly burnt, which I don't mind. The filling tasted more like a ricotta cheesecake than a pumpkin pie, and that is a good thing, because so often all you taste in pumpkin pie is nutmeg. The chocolate on top totally works. We couldn't get enough of it. All of that and a bill under $70! Pretty unheard of at a restaurant this caliber in Miami. Of course, they have pricier menu items like seafood towers, but you can have a very nice meal and dessert for literally $30 a person. read more

And just overall ruined the experience .. the food was decent .. couple things returned back do to being burnt or just plain not good .. will not come back and wouldn't recommend . Went to Mignonette for National Oyster Day knowing they have $1.5 oysters for happy hour at the bar. We opted to sit at a table anyway, and much to our surprise, oysters were $2 bc of National Oyster Day. Our server, Adrian, was amazing. He explained the difference in east vs west coast oysters, etc. etc. etc. We got a bottle of the Sauvignon Blanc and a dozen mixed oysters to start. The oysters were fresh and delicious (my mouth is watering thinking about them). They had 8 types of oysters that day, and since we had only tried 6, we ordered 2 of the ones we liked best and a couple of the two we hadn't tried yet. Our faves: Blue Mountain (west coast) and Black Bear (east coast). We then ordered the Seared Scallops appetizer. So so so soooo good. I love scallops and these were cooked perfectly. Truly a hidden gem. Food, ambiance was spectacular. Ordered the clams casino - very interesting original twist of the dish- the broth was freaking outstanding. Next the seafood tower which consisted of east and west coast oysters, clams, shrimp, and crab meat cocktail accompanied with an assortment of sauces. Absolutely amazing! And last but not least the Boston Bibb salad, very simple but delicious and Crisp. The croutons made the dish. Very content with my meal. Will definitely be back :) I can't get enough of this place. OUTSTANDING FOOD !!! We ordered mussels in red sauce - pretty spicy and Octopus, which was delicious! Big serving too, very generous on the crab meat which is a great change from other places. Even the side greens were yummy.
