Usually I love this place! I come here for my favourite "fresh crispy shell", traditional chicken taco, priced right! You have to unwrap right away so steam doesn't make shell soggy. Tonight bought the relleno burrito, wet style. Bummer & gross, the outside of the bag is all wet w food residue, from dirty hands. I was stoked that Miguels Jr's had bowl meals. I ordered a bowl that i got carne asada, potatos, sour cream and cheese. It was around $13.00. I get home and my bowl is MAYBE 1/4 full! I called the Menifee location where I purchased the bowl and she said thats the correct size!!! I said are you kidding me...Seriously? She said yes that's how much you get. What I find interesting is the picture of the bowl in there advertisement does NOT the amount of food I got. I included pictures. Miguel's has been a family favorite but now we will pass! We went here again today for brunch. Absolutely DELICIOUS. I had Chili Relleno plat #4 with a Beef Taco: excellent. Hubby had #1 with Beef Taco and Chicken enchilada. Exellent if we weren't so full, we could have ordered more and kept eating. I have no idea why this restaurant gets ANY low marks - their food is SO AMAZING for a "fast food" place. I like Miguel's the restaurant but decided to try Miguel's Jr. today. I ordered the Chile Relleno combo with the Chile Verde Pork (extra pork). While the taste was great, the cheese inside my Relleno was NOT melted, at all, and the Chile verde pork "extra" was just pork inside a shell with no verde sauce inside or cheese. There was NO extra pork at all and it was all swimming in sauce to the point I couldn't tell the refried beans from the rest of the meal. It was very sloppy. My husband ordered a taco with Chile verde and got beef. Won't buy from them again. I was disappointed...yet again. The quality of food overall is getting worse and worse I noticed. The "guacamole" for the burrito was non existent and when seen with the taquitos it looked like tooth paste...very liquified and light green/blue. Not worth the price at all. Two stars because the food is usually good. The service, however, is another matter. In the era of Covid, and the overcrowding of our community, drive thru lines just keep getting longer. It's bad enough to have to wait 3 or 4 times longer than "normal", but when you finally get to the window and pay for your order, you'd think the staff would have a policy in place to at least double check your order and make sure it's all there. I'm trying to be considerate and not hold up the hungry folks in line behind me any longer than necessary, but apparently, when it comes to this place, I will have to do everything, short of cooking my own order from now on. Nothing is more irritating than to get home and find out half your order is missing. It's a shame In-n-Out and Chick-fil-a can't manage all drive thru restaurants, because Miguel's Jr sure as hell can't manage theirs. read more
