    Spider Roll (Soft Shell crab)

Mikado Sushi is another great place to go for creative sushi presentations and just plain good sushi. I'll admit I'm far from a sushi expert but I've enjoyed everything I've ordered from Mikako. We started with Gyoza (chicken dumplings). Too often, choices like this are overcooked with most of the flavor lost in the hard crust of the dumpling. Not at Mikado. These dumplings were perfectly prepared and were extremely good. We then ordered a Mikado roll (shrimp tempura, chili tuna, etc) and a soft shell crab (Spider) roll. Both rolls were delicious. If I have any complaints, it is that they only serve Diet Coke by the can. I much prefer the fountain variety. It's a small issue to overcome when the rolls are so good. We need to put Mikado on our regular Sushi rotation.

We came here at the suggestion of someone. Its a small place but the sushi was excellent. We were enthusiastically greated when we came in. Sushi was great. The head sushi chef is very passionate about what he does. We brought our toddler with and he even cut up a special orange for him as a surprise. Sushi was excellent and unique. Smaller sushi menu but plenty of options.

Loved the Pink Monster Roll! Spicy Tuna, crab, avocado in pink soybean paper. It's pink so I HAD to try it!

Sat at the sushi bar and what a great experience. Entertainment and great food. Highly recommend the crispy rice!

Best Sushi in Midwest! Jay & his family have been serving me sushi every week for 15 years. I have tested their quality fish & the taste & presentation against the best sushi bars across the USA & Hawaii. I struggle to say anything is better than this.. one bar in Hawaii had a different mix of very large & fresh fish pieces, but even some of the parts of the Hawaii bar was missing the taste & presentation that Mikado gives. I rate it one of the top 10 in the USA. Definitely sit at the bar & talk to Jay or Roger. They are the best!!

Oh my gosh. Genuinely the best sashimi I have ever had. I could have been there for hours the way I wanted to just take the smallest bites and savor it. Fresh wasabi was amazing too and my boyfriend loved his udon. Very friendly staff as well!11/10, will definitely be back. Absolutely divine.

Went again they never miss... had the yellow talk neck? A really nice fatty cut of cooked fish, Age Tofu (friend tofu in a tempura sauce

    Complimentary orange

Possibly the best customer service ever. The food was amazing, sushi tasted fresh, and we were served a little orange monkey at the end!!! Fed three people for $50 with two sushi platters that came with salads, miso soup, and the orange after. Ambience was amazing, the place is beautifully decorated and the piano music was a nice volume.

Always delicious Mikado Sushi, long time favorite with NEW rolls! So far the "Rattlesnake" (not pictured) and "Sensational" are AMAZING!

Friendly servers and fast food service. Prices are decent and sushi was of okay-good quality. Boston roll: was rolled a bit too large, nice surprise with the inclusion of tobiko Blue fusion roll: sliced oddly thin and diagonal, but nice eel sauce flavor with a spicy kick Godzilla roll: fun and colorful, with straightforward eel flavor, I found the ones topped with black tobiko best The menu also boasts many Korean entree dishes and bento options that I would like to try next time.

Salmon skin roll and spicy white tuna i think

No. Lunch has great deals and is therefore very busy, dinner is pretty empty if you want to sit and chill.

I got the fried goza and the yaku udon. I was super excited. It came out in about 5 mins. OK portion. I tried the goza with the ponzu sauce. Ponzu too salty for me and not much flavor. Ditto that for the goza. Crunchy but zero flavor. I don't even know what I was eating. And unfortunately the same for the udon. The chicken which you get a good amount was way overcooked and hard, flavorless and dry. It was supposed to be to have veggies and it had some lettuce on top and a few shredded carrots but no real veggies. The noodles had a nice coating of sauce and were OK but couldn't make up for the dish. Very disappointing overall. Reviews good so I was excited. But honestly it was not good. This is a skip. Maybe an off night but it wasn't good.

If you want noodles and want them fast then it doesn't get any better. They provide many options outside of noodles as well. This is a fast food restaurant so service shouldn't really be a factor unless your register person is screaming at you. I always order the Japanese pan noodles. It's very filling and delicious. It has a strong umami flavor so if you don't like salty then probably not a good selection for you. I also order the Mac n cheese which is also amazing. In the last 10 years of eating at this restaurant I have yet to find anything I didn't think was delicious. Was very surprised to find it Michigan considering it's a noodle fast food restaurant. Thankful they have been successful though!

The place looked the same and a bit outdated to be honest. Seemed like there were no updates in many years and the bathroom could've really used some TLC. The girl at the counter was friendly and helpful during my experience at least. I was happy to see they still had the Japanese pan udon noodles because that's what I always got. I asked her to hold the carrots and add bean sprouts. She told me they didn't carry it anymore. I was devastated because that's one of my fave components on that dish. So I asked her to add chicken and just hold off on the carrots for now. She recommended the Korean noodle dish that had a small kick to it. When we got our food, I noticed I didn't get any chicken, the noodles were very dry with very little sauce coating them and there were carrots and no mushrooms. I brought this back to the counter to show her what was missing and if they could just add the chicken and mushrooms and I'll get over the carrots. She took it from me and had him "fix it." The chicken was fine but the mushrooms were still quite raw. It was like he threw the raw sliced mushrooms back in with the noodles in the wok and just tossed it a couple times so it wasn't exactly pleasant to eat. My sister's dish was more flavorful but the noodles were definitely overcooked (too soft) and was over sauced. I was pretty bummed since I waited to choose and eat lunch here for my birthday. Not sure if I'll ever return again to what used to be one of my favorite places in GR.

We stopped for lunch slightly after the lunch rush and still found a crowded restaurant. We were seated quickly and despite being pretty busy, our server was great and the kitchen was as well because our wait for food once ordered was minimal. We ordered Gyoza, Bao, Spicy tuna rolls and Big Shrimp Tempura rolls. 1. Gyoza-fantastic. Pan fried just enough to bring out the flavor of the ingredients and wrapper. Most places overcook gyoza and while still decent, are not nearly as good as these were. 2. Bao. Once I tried these out of town I was hooked. Have-not seen them one any menu until I came here. We ordered pork and it was perfect. 3. Spicy Tuna Rolls-slight disappointment. The tuna is ground up and mixed with the spices to make it spicy. I would not order this again. After talking to your server, she said I could oder traditional tuna rolls and have the spices applied externally rather than mixed up in a ground up fashion. Perhaps I will order this way next time but there is so many other dishes that need to be tried. 4. Big Shrimp Tempura. Wonderful. Great flavors I looked at other tables and Bento Boxes, ramen dishes and hibachi items looked really, really good and need to be explored as well. I'm predicting we will become regulars here.
