This morning, I had the country skillet. I have visited this place four or five times and so far this is the best one..

Food is always good, good service. [[HIGHLIGHT]]And I like the music playlist![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bathroom is always clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lots of toilet paper and soap to clean your hands.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back!!

Came to the cafe on a random Tuesday and was pleasantly surprised that such a local spot could deliver such amazing quality food. Both pancakes and the scramble were superb. The hashbrowns perfectly golden which is funnily enough hard to get at cafe/diner nowadays. The jalapeño's in the scramble were also delicious with plenty of flavor. Will definitely be returning with the great service as well. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only critique is the ambience is cute and quaint, but to perhaps raise the volume on the music.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire time you can hear the fridge display louder than anything else in here[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Came to try brunch at Mikayla's and it was a good experience! It's a small plaza but not busy so we could easily find parking. Service was quick and kind! The pricing is pretty standard. I got the spicy crab cakes which was delicious and surprisingly pretty spicy. My boyfriend got the hot mama scramble and it was good. I wish there was more even balance of everything but there was a lot of sausage. The potatoes were yummy, but the hashbrowns really stole the show. We got the French toast to share and it was perfect texture.

Nice breakfast place that has a wide selection and good quality. Came right at the crack of dawn when they opened and was greeted with a warm welcome. The food was decent and a nice start to the morning. Portions were a bit lacking but overall ok value.

I've only gotten pick up from here (twice) but each time it is such a solid breakfast meal! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is casual with lots of seating, even some seating at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I sat at the bar while I waited for my food. Service was friendly as well The corn beef breakfast meal is my favorite. I got it with scrambled eggs and hash browns and it was beyond perfect. The eggs were fluffy and the hash browns had the best crust. Sour dough toast was delish as well, however I would like two pieces not just one. I also got a pancake and chose bacon and chocolate chips as toppings. It came out as one large pancake with the bacon on top and mini chocolate chips in a container. It was delicious as well. I also got a fresh squeezed orange juice, which was decent. Would repeat this meal in a heart beat!

Mikayla's is a OG bay area brunch spot that has been long standing classic that everyone frequents They deliver high quality food and great service to everyone! This is one of two locations and both locations have high quality food! Overall great place for brunch or breakfast! [[HIGHLIGHT]]May get busy at peak hours[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I definitely recommend any of their pancakes and eggs benedict as all of them taste fresh and in house made! Their hashbrowns are also unique and has very good texture and flavor

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely little spot for breakfast or brunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped there while in town for Metallica weekend!!!! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Service was friendly and prompt, outdoor seating was comfy and shaded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was attentive to umbrella positions and making sure you're comfortable. The prices were reasonable. I wish I had paid attention to their coffee options before ordering a regular cup of coffee but I was happy that they offered Oatmilk and other non-dairy options. We had the crepes, South Bay style... hella good! The toasted coconut was the perfect addition. We also had the chicken and waffle, the waffle was perfect. The chicken was good, but more Asian style in the batter so included a little cornstarch to keep the batter crispy and the chicken tender - I just don't like the texture it gives the meat - personal issue lol We will definitely return next time we are in town! Oh added bonus - they didn't make you feel rushed, even with a line of people waiting for tables.

When there's a line, stop here!

I was in town for the Metallica concerts and staying at the Aloft Santa Clara. I was looking for a great spot for breakfast and hit a home-run with my decision to eat at Mikayla's Café on Tasman Drive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I knew I must have pick the right spot when I arrive and found a line outside waiting for seating. That's always a great sign you've picked a popular place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I went inside and put my name on the wait list and in about 15 minutes, I was seated on a Satruday morning. My biggest decision was selecting what I wanted to eat. The menu is packed with so many delectable breakfast items. I went with the Hot Mama signature scramble and it was super tasty and a large portion. Loved the spicy Cajun sausage, with onions, bell peppers and mushrooms. I saw lots of diners ordering drinks served in a large glass mug and handle and said I got to get one of those. The iced coffee was delish. Super efficient and friendly service. Can't wait to come back on Sunday for round #2.

Chicken fried steak is wonderful. Gravy is flavored, consistent and tasty. The hash browns were fried, buttery and well seasoned. The coffee drinks are delicious too

The food was phenomenal. We had the Morning Burger and ultimate fried chicken sandwich. The chicken was spicy but the coleslaw balanced it well. I will be returning.

Came here on a trip to Great America as our pit stop / breakfast of the day. We randomly found this place online when looking for some where to eat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is small, but it's clean and the staff were friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was slow and quiet when we came and our food came out pretty quick I would say. We all ordered different things and in general we enjoyed the food. I had gotten a country skillet that was potatoes, eggs, and country gravy. It was super filling! Other people in the group got French toast and a breakfast sandwich and they liked their choices. My coffee was ok, not very strong, and the hot chocolate also lacked flavor. If I was in the area I would come back and try some other things.

We were seated right away for Sunday lunch. Most tables were taken and it's not a big restaurant but luckily didn't have the overcrowded vibe. I got the All American Favorite and chose bacon, poached eggs, hashbrowns, and sourdough toast. Can't really go wrong with these classic breakfast items and I had no complaints! Tried the buttermilk pancake too which was my favorite item! It was fluffy and so good with the powdered sugar, butter, and syrup. Food came out pretty quickly and service was good. Would come back!

Beautiful, flaky, sweet and savory; there are so many delicious options. Gourmet pastries with gourmet coffee equals perfection. Best way to start the morning. I love that. You can actually see them fresh baking pastries while you're sitting. We didn't go overly sweet because it was the morning, but I would love to come back in the afternoon to have a nice sweet treat and a cappuccino. For my family of three we definitely got over excited in order too much, but each bite was delicious. We got a leek quiche, a banana latte, spinach, artichoke danish, mango croissant, almond croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I was trying to increase the protein to not spike my blood sugar. Lol. I'd have to say the mango and the almond croissant were probably my favorite. The strong second would definitely be the artichoke and spinach croissant danish thing. Sorry, I forgot what they called it. They offered to heat it up a bit and I definitely recommend this. They did the perfect temperature for the perfect timing. Just enough to make the outside flaky and the inside warm and soft. The pieces that had cheeses were so much better warmed up. They definitely know what they're doing there. Seating was great. I'd love the decor. You can also order off of a menu, but we were too enamored with the actual pastries to even glance at it. I took photos but made sure to not take photos of the staff. I let the staff know that I wouldn't include their faces without their permission. they were very friendly and very appreciative. My family loved your little shop and we will definitely be back when we're in the area.

Fresh florals on every table and in garnishes for the drinks! They had the FIFA World Cup on their flat screen above the bar. Drinks: Garden Spritz and the Ube matcha latte - not too overly sweet but great flavor and not too much alcohol! Would come back to order the other options they have. Food: Crispy thoroughly cooked through diced potatoes are to die for. I still remember the crisp crunch. The chicken waffles? I don't usually get these but this is a place I would definitely come back to just so I can eat this one specifically because I know it's good. The chicken was tender and not dried out, the waffles had flavor and the proportion was perfect!

Final Thoughts: 4.20/5.0…read more Contrary to many other opinions, I personally really like brunch. It really is more for the vibes and spending time with my friends and family versus the food sometimes. For some reason, this place has always been on my list of to-go brunch places, but I've just never had the chance to go here. After our matcha run, my friend and I decided to go here for brunch. It was around a 45 minute wait today. On their Yelp, appears to be quite the quaint place to to get food and relax. Will definitely be a 4 star for me. Food: Jumbo Crab Bene with seasonal fruit: 4.0/5 This is their fresh lump crab with sliced avocado, whole grain mustard and poached eggs stacked on lightly toasted English muffins, topped with scratch made Hollandaise sauce and garnished with locally sourced microgreens. This is served with either house potatoes or seasonal fruits. The lump crab is actually fresh crab I believe. There are some pieces of the shell that were still in there. I'm honestly not even mad because that's a pretty big indicator that it's the fresh crab meat picked out. The egg is nicely poached with a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce is quite nice and light. The Dijon mustard was quite strong for me and did overwhelm some of the other flavors on the plate. It does add a nice flavor, but occasionally, it was too much. For the English muffin, it was quite thick, so it felt kind of dry. It's noted to be slightly toasted, but its somewhat hard to tell with the mustard, crab meat, and poached egg on top, which are mainly wet items. Avocado is perfectly ripe. I'm not an avocado person, but this one did it just right for me. The fruits came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Very refreshing and needed after the savory foods. Philly Steak Sandwich with garlic fries: 4.0/5 This sandwich has grilled steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese on a toasted baguette with mayo and a light teriyaki drizzle. Will come with either a side of house salad or garlic fries. I really liked how they caramelized the onions and peppers inside of this. There's that additional sweetness from it that works well with the steak and cheese. Very tender meat. The bread also seemed kind of big and just almost dry too. Not too big of a concern given the amount of filling that they give. My friend choose the garlic fries and those were amazing. The cut is just right and the crisp on the outside is just so good. You can taste the garlic, but I could do with even more garlic to it. --------- Quality: Fresh Something I really like is that they use real crab in their jumbo crab bene. You can actually feel the tiny pieces of the shell in it, which usually means its fresh. The food did take a second to come out, but both were piping hot. My friends onions and veggies were quite caramelized, which is nice. Brings out a lot of the flavor component in the sandwich. The fries were actually so good too. I wanted the side of garli fries, but it was convenient that his came with it. Super crispy, nice size, flavor is good. May need a little more fresh garlic, but overall, really good. Price: Reasonable Prices seem reasonable for what they give. Initially, it does lean more on the expensive side, but their portion sizes are larger than your average brunch place. Prices will range from between $18 to $24, with a few outliers. Service: Very sweet workers Very nice service here. Everyone was sweet, greeted us, and checked on us. Our food did take a little longer than some others around us. For us, it was around a 25-30 minute wait after ordering our food. Even the table next to us that were seated after got their food first. The food did come out fresh, so I'm not really complaining. They did let us know and give us little updates about our wait and food though. Ambiance: Classic Brunch Spot The space is nice and looks slightly cramped inside. It was just my friend and I and they gave us a seat right in the corner next to the window. Honestly, probably the best spot for me and the person who seated us also noted that it was his favorite spot in the house. I didn't see much beyond from what was seen by the door. The space looks fairly small, but fit a decent amount of tables with walking space in between still. Always love the open kitchen. It's fun to watch what happens behind the scenes. Location/Parking: Large space It's located right on Saratoga Avenue. There is a Lucky grocery store here, so there is a lot of parking around. We really didn't have any concerns finding a space at all.

The last sandwich I purchased had to be thrown away after I took a big bite out of it and pulled out a long strand of hair from inside my mouth . It wasn't crazy busy so it was easy to order through one of their two tablets and find a spot to sit. It is very spacious and filled with many tables, so even when busy you'll likely be able to find a spot. The menu is a bit messy to look at--there is a big menu hanging over the kiosks, another posted alongside where a line is formed, then the menu on the tablet kiosks themselves. It's a pretty big menu featuring primarily coffee-based drinks, matcha lattes, and a wide variety of food, so you'll likely find something appealing. I ordered their smoked salmon bagel (which rang up to about $16) and their matcha latte ($8); to be honest, neither were outstanding. The salmon and avocado in the bagel were great, but the bagel itself was a bit stale--for $16, it's a bit hard to swallow. The matcha was very milky, and there is another store offering better matcha drinks in the same plaza. I'll admit, though, it's a little on me for not picking coffee at a spot with "coffee" in the name. I will say, though, that the atmosphere in the main area is pretty good; the decor is understated but comfortable, and the lighting is good. The service is also solid--the servers are friendly and our order came out quickly. I will say that the bathroom feels ominous. Overall, it's a great spot to study; Big Mug is open late, has free Wi-Fi and a bathroom for customers, and offers both food and caffeinated drinks for longer study sessions. I feel that the prices vary widely for items but skew towards being too pricy for the quality, at least from my limited experience. I plan on coming back to give other items a try, but for now, it's not a favorite.
