Some of the best gyros you'll find in Pittsburgh! The place is super casual and service is fast!

Yep and yep. Just go here. The sandwiches are amazing.. and that sauce they use?! Still dreaming of if. I can't believe I haven't been here before but I will definitely be back! I ordered the chicken sandwich and my fiancé got a gyro. I tried a bite of his and it was perfection. My chicken sandwich was also perfect. I could taste the the "grill" - in a good way, of the chicken and it was loaded with chicken, lettuce, tomato, onions, and sauce. I'll Just remember this place is cash only. You can eat in or take out. Everything was prepared quickly and was fresh!

The gyro was good and the lamb was seasoned. Atmosphere is lack-lust. They did forget to add my onions lol.

For what this place is...a divey little cash-only spot serving Greek favorites, it really hits the mark. The gyros were ordered were good (not great) but plenty large and filled with seasoned lamb and fresh veggies with tzatziki sauce on them as well. Fries were seasoned well and served piping hot. We also had a spinach pie which was large enough to share (between the three of us) and was pretty tasty with its layered phyllo dough. Small place, but kept pretty clean and service was prompt. Would be a great late-night spot after visiting some of the local bar-type establishments!

I have been a fan of this place for years! I love love love love love love this place. love! (get the picture?) =]. I have become a serious regular there- to the point that when I wasn't there for a month, an employee noticed right away lol. Amazing gyros! My boyfriend and I order the same exact thing every time we come here. I get the chicken gyro special with ranch instead of cucumber sauce and an Iced Tea as my drink. The boyfriend orders the gyro special with everything on it and a Coke. The food is always consistently good! I adore the chicken gyro. They marinate the chicken for hours and it is obvious when you take a bite out of it. It's full of flavor and it's juicy! Since it's cooked on the grill, it has that charred taste to it slightly and I love that! The ranch is awesome too, although it is a little runny. The pita bread is amazing too- soft, but at the same time it doesn't get very soggy if you order take out. The fries are delicious too- although, sometimes the cook (depending on who is working) over fries them and they are a little too crisp for my liking. My boyfriend LOVES the regular gyro. Never anything to complain about there. We are addicted to this place and do not plan on venturing out to try other gyro places. We already found our favorite!

My husband and I ate one lunch here. Indoor and covered outdoor seating was available. The employees promptly greeted and seated us, and I appreciated that they recommended specific menu items to help me choose. After a reasonable wait, the foods were brought to our table. Here are my ratings for what we ordered: Grilled Shrimp - 5 stars - Several large, juicy shrimp were on skewers and had been perfectly cooked. Sides were mixed vegetables and a mix of rice and bulgur. Chicken Shish Kebab - 4 stars - The chunks of chicken were large and juicy and had a mild seasoning. On the side was rice pilav. Turkish Tea - 4.5 stars - This black tea was a good size and was served hot. Packets of sweeteners were available. The total price was $55 plus tax and tip.

Falafel appetizer was very, very hard and chewy. Even with a serrated knife it was difficult to cut! Shepherd Salad was fresh but was mostly red and green bell peppers. Very little tomato or cucumber or onion which I was expecting. Not their fault but mine for not knowing about this salad. Again they were super nice and offered to take it back. Donor Kebab was over cooked. Dry. Chewy. Tzatziki sauce was fine. I ordered two extra mini-cups of tzatziki to help me finish the donor kebab. (Extra $1). Bread was very good. I ordered the Turkish Tea but it never came : (

We were confused as to where the actual restaurant was. There is a sign on Route 8, so we parked there, looked around, walked downstairs, only to find it was offices. We then walked upstairs and found that the entrance was actually on the other side of the building but accessible from the front. It's an interesting place when you walk in. We were quickly greeted and seated. It seemed as though the owner and family were working. The menu was interesting, not real large but sufficient. We had, who I believe is the owner, come to our table and ask what we typically like to eat and then she was making suggestions. We thought she was just being helpful. My wife finally looked at her and said, I'm sorry are you also taking flour order now? She replied well that's what I was trying to do. To me that was a little off putting. We all took her suggestions and ordered. The food came out fresh and warm. It was good. We all tried each others meals. We felt that what my wife ordered was the best. The place isn't huge inside but it was fairly busy. It was a little pricey but not bad.

My favorites were: 1) the char-grilled octopus - so tender 2) chicken souvlaki - the roasted veggies were so good with the smokiness of the chicken! 3) the salmon on top of the Elia salad - it was cooked to perfection. Juicy and flaky! Our server was the one who recommended the Elia Salad with salmon on top with the Champgane Vinaigrette. But, we went with the Greek dressing... I think we would have liked her recommendation more because the combo of salmon and salad was spot on! She definitely knew what she was doing and what tastes good! We sat in the indoor patio-like area and it was very bright with natural light and I love the exposed wood deco inside. It feels rustic and classy at the same time. Seeing him still there, working hard after all these years, was genuinely heartwarming. We visited over a busy holiday weekend, and although things were hectic, I couldn't help but feel for the owner, who was doing his best despite his age. I just wish the younger staff had stepped in to help him a little more. The food had some great highlights. The lamb kabob was tender, juicy, and full of flavor, the hummus was delicious, the lemon potatoes were amazing, and I enjoyed the sampler platter with the stuffed grape leaves. Overall, Christos has a lot of charm, history, and heart. I truly hope this Pittsburgh staple is around for many more years. With a little more attention to the service, the experience could easily match the quality of the food.

The server, Christos, who is 86 years old, came out to greet me as I was looking at the menu on the window. He certainly has a lot of charm and decided to take a chance. He doesn't understand English too well but definitely knows how to upsell. He asked me if I wanted hummus and bread, so I naturally thought it was part of the meal, but it was an additional four dollars. I ordered the great version of the Shepherd pie and he asked me if I wanted boiled potatoes since it was his grandmother's recipe. Again, I should have asked, but didn't realize I was going to be charging another five dollars as well as for anchovies on the salad. He seemed a little offended when I said I didn't really enjoy the Onassis dessert which he raved about and suggested that if I didn't like it, he would not charge me. Because I did not, and wanted to try the baklava sundae, he instead deliver the regular Baklava although it was not very crunchy and actually pretty soft and soggy like it had been sitting around and then microwaved. Probably the worst I've ever had. But he didn't charge me for the Onassis dessert. The salad was actually very good, particularly because of the added anchovies. The boiled potatoes were not anything special so I would pass if offered another chance. Sorry, grandmother! The main dish was also not very fresh and the Lamb tasted a little gamey. The "complementary" vegetable with the meal was green beans, which were very soggy and overcooked. Similarly, the rice tasted like it had been sitting around and prepared days ago. I also found two hairs on my plate. For $50, I would've expected a little bit more other than some interesting stories of how he used to work for Jackie O. But the worker who was sitting in the dining room and doing his own belching contest certainly added to the ambience as he was organizing the cutlery. Now I can understand why the place was so empty. I had planned to go to gaucho's down the block, but the wait was 30 minutes. Next time I will go to gaucho's instead.
