Great food, fast service. I've been coming here for years and have never had an issue up until a few weeks ago. The issue was not the food everything was great as usual in that department! I felt inclined to write my review based on a situation that made me and my husband very uncomfortable and kind of annoyed enough that I hope the owner reads this. While dining, we couldn't help but notice how incredibly rude and unprofessional the hostess (Kathy) was when not only seating us but the way in which she treated our waitress. Our waitress was a woman with short red hair (I don't know her name) she was so incredibly kind, helpful, personable, spunky and it was clear that she has been doing her job for a long time. she was even joking with our 6 year old son who totally got a kick out of her. Anyway, the hostess was so mean and demeaning to our waitress in front of the whole restaurant to point that my husband was so mad that he almost approached her to tell her that her behavior was terrible not only to her coworker but in front of patrons particularly our son. I convinced him not to and I now regret doing that. Someone needs to inform this women to treat people how she would like to be treated ( even my 6 year old knows that!). Like I said great food, wonderful waitress but Kathy (the hostess) put us in a very uncomfortable situation and I'm totally annoyed by it. Extremely high prices. Had an egg white Spanish omelette with no bread, potatoes or meat, a bowl of disgusting oatmeal and a cup of coffee and the bill came out to $19.75. The omelette was mediocre at best. NEVER AGAIN would I eat at this diner. read more

I dont know what these other yelpers are talking about. I went to the diner yesterday when I took a break from Xmas shopping, and the food couldn't have been better. I ordered a greek burger, and having had alot of them on the island, this was the BEST one I've had. It came in a large pita with chopped tomatoes, onion and lettuce, with blocks of feta and drowned in Tzaiki sauce. The coleslaw was amazing and I am not a coleslaw girl. Then we got the traditional mozz fries and gravy, which were delicious!! Service was also great. I love this place and I can't wait to return and recommend it to everyone!! read more

This place is awesome!! Debbie our waiter is the best! Friendly and honest We love her. Richie is good too. So far all the food we have tasted has been amazing. So good!!. Ordered pastrami sandwich... Bread was soggy and meat was like rubber. French onion Soup was oily and tasteless, the Caesar dressing is anything but Caesar dressing. Its some mixture of Italian and can't figure out what else. I had occasionally ordered here for years so this isn't a single experience. The food had been going downhill for a long time and they make no attempt to change anything it seems. If you go for breakfast I guess that's hard to mess up. But Perkins or ihop is a much better choice. read more

We only have gone to this diner because of its close location to work. After today's most disappointing visit, we will never return. After the manager took the wrong order out of the 7 meals ordered, she refused to remove it from the bill. The meal went untouched. (What diner doesn't know how to make a montecristo???) While paying the bill, the same manager put the entire bill (over $100) on one card instead of splitting the check like was asked. I was then blamed for it being clear enough when asking the split the bill. This manager then asked another employee to deal with me. Our experience usually isn't this bad because of our really sweet waiter. This manager needs to worry more about cleaning her diner, her teeth and her attitude than being right. Take it from me, go somewhere else. Food is subpar at best. read more

Most of the girls are really nice, particularly the younger girl with the purple hair and the older lady with the red hair. I don't like the fries, they taste and smell like fried chicken which might be why other people enjoy them haha, I love the stuffed mushrooms, they have a crab stuffing and are soooooo good. The calamari is okay. The mushroom chicken sandwich is really good, the Philly cheese steak is okay, but I probably won't get it again, it's not anything special, the nachos are awesome, and the brisket is really really good. So far I've been here 3 times and 2/3 were exceptional. The one time I didn't particularly enjoy it was with an older blonde lady who didn't seem very attentive and rarely came to the table to check on us. read more

It's a shame I can't leave zero stars. The positive - we didn't get the runs. The negatives: ordered a turkey sandwich - the turkey was turning yellow and smelled bad - waitress insisted that it was our eyes and that it was "fresh." Standard diner food. I haven't had anything but their breakfasts and burgers, and was pleased. The "all the way" bagel (lox and cream cheese) is pretty good and the fish was fresh. Their hungry man breakfast is a very good deal compared to the other choices and it's guaranteed to fill you up for the remainder of the day. Mike's diner has several locations and this one is less traveled and smaller, so the food comes out fast and hot. You will not go wrong with the burgers. Place is the absolute worst. Have flat out forgotten my deliveries twice , then when I called to ask where they were they got nasty with me for being upset that they forgot it. On a recent Saturday evening my wife and I decided to try Mike's Olympic Grill since we hadn't been there for a long time. After, receiving and tasting the food, I remembered why we hadn't patronized this diner in several years. I ordered a roast beef sandwich on rye and my wife ordered a pastrami on rye and a side order of french fries (thank goodness we did).. The roast beef was way overcooked and dry and my wife's pastrami was stringy and fatty. Fortunately we had ordered French fries which were edible and pretty good. We patronize other Mike's diners on the island, ordering the same meals, and only experienced good food. I don't know who runs this particular diner but, it will be many years before I contemplate patronizing this place again. It was waste of money! read more

The service is ok, if you call on the phone you may have to hang up and call again before anyone picks up the phone. They make the beast soups, and they give you a lot of it for a bowl. Their Cheddar Chicken Wrap is to die for. It is giant, and it comes with fries. It takes two people to finish it. Probably one of the better if not best diners on the Island. First off it's open 24 hours and their food is fresh whether you're there at 3PM or 3AM unlike a lot of other places. This is a typical diner with above average food. The food is not cheap but I wouldn't say it's overpriced. You get what you pay for here. They have the best honey mustard I've ever had. read more

Tonight the hostess messed up and charged us twice and when we went to the bank to find out why the card kept getting declined we realized their machines were the ones messing up.. Also when we asked them if they'd mind us going across the street to chase they asked to hold an id.. It was insulting considering how often We go there for dinner. Meanwhile they were the ones holding on to our money.. Be careful with your card there they might be charging you double without you knowing!!! This place is a joke. I ordered take out; a Cesar salad with grilled shrimp. The shrimp were not properly cleaned and had gunk all over them. The salad had no dressing when I called the restaurant to ask if I could come get some dressing (didn't even mention the shrimp I don't like to complain) he argued with me saying he already gave me dressing I told him he gave me two white sauces instead of Cesar he told me "if you really want a second Cesar dressing you can come and get it but I already gave you one". I ended up paying $20.00 for something I threw out. My husband had a Ruben sandwich which was totally dry with no Russian dressing. Do yourself a favor and don't pay a fortune to eat at this dive. So ive been to this place 3 or 4 times . Last night was the worst experience ever. I had ordered a "black jack burger" which was described to be a Cajun burger. When I received my order I spotted a bug on my burger immediately and they apologized and took my food away and said they would make me a new burger. 15 min later I get another burger which was very bland so I call the manager over and ask him what a black jack burger consists of and he goes "u ordered a black jack burger?" then walks away. 5 min. Later my waitress brings me over a bowl of spices which was poured straight from a spice bottle and I was expected to pour that on my burger and enjoy it. I immediately got up paid for my order which was only discounted 3 dollars and got a plain old sorry. So if u want bugs in your food and not so good service this is the diner for you . read more
