We started with a mixed antipasto which included mozzarella , tomatoes peppers mushrooms and eggplant rollatines and spedines . I chose the stuffed pork chop which was grilled crisp outside and stuffed with cheese and provolone and moist and tender inside that I could not stop eating it and barely touched the asparagus and potatoes although they were equally delicious. My sister enjoyed the filet of sole sorentino and did not leave any on the plate. The service was impeccable; we were not rushed but the wait between courses was not long. EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! WOW! The prices here are absolutely unbelievable. A cup of chicken noodle soup is $8.00, wings are $15.00, a garden salad is $14.00, and wraps and clubs are around $15.00. Entrées range anywhere from $25.00-$40.00, and drinks are $3.00-$6.00. For the prices, we expected a much better experience. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow, and the staff came across as unfriendly and unwelcoming. Definitely not worth the cost. We won't be returning. read more

This is located within the Hilton hotel. I went for a 60th birthday party. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I liked how the food buffet was set up in a separate area from where the guests were seated and the dance floor.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For appetizers/cocktail area there was charcuterie, olives fresh fruit, tomato and mozzarella, olives, marinated artichokes and marinaded mushrooms. This was all good! Now the main entrees..it had such potential to be good, but it kinda fell short. There was salad, beef short ribs, chicken Marsala, penne ala vodka, eggplant rollatini and sautéed veggies. Out of the above I had penne ala vodka and eggplant parm. I felt the penne ala vodka was a bit flavorless. As I was eating the eggplant rollatini I was also eating paper! There was a small (about quarter-sized) piece of paper within the cheese and eggplant. Not great! Other than the paper addition, it did have decent flavor. My fiancé had the beef short ribs and he said it was a little dry. He also didn't like the chicken Marsala at all. Eh. The simplest way to explain it is: They Need a new Chef! It's incredibly obvious in the food, that the Chef is miserable! EXTREMELY over priced! And lower than mediocre! Very small portions. Poorly executed entrees! Sad apps! Pre-made desserts! The Wine reduction was absolutely cooked wrong! Uneven sear on steak! Mushy vegetables! The staff is extremely professional and friendly, but it's obvious they know they are serving over priced crap! You can see it in their faces! Considering this restaurant is part of the world renowned Hilton Hotel chain, and the franchise is owned by extremely good people who love Staten Island and its people. 14 of us were at the "A tribute to Lou Monte" dinner and show last night. The service was very attentive and the food was good enough for such a venue. What was EXTREMELY disappointing was the show itself. ONLY 1 AND 1/2 OF LOU MONTES SONGS WERE SUNG ! That is far from a tribute as it was marketed. It seems Ray Monte is past his "sell by date" as they say ,and filled the performance time with repeated call outs as to where people were from and he introduced the band members 3 times! I wish i could get my $250 back that my wife and i paid. My wife,her sisters and cousins went up to Ray after the show and introduced themselves as being perhaps 3rd or fourth cousins. he said Oh and handed them a Lou Monte CD which he was giving everyone. RUDE! So if you were thinking to go to this show -DON'T . Such a colossal disappointment. read more

Decent food, nice piano music, but the atmosphere of a diner :( Visited Lorenzo's with my wife on 02/16/24 for a romantic dinner with live piano music. Unfortunately, the visit turned out to be a great disappointment :( It's very sad as we planned this for a while and the place indeed had all the potential to live to the expectations. But it didn't :( The food was decent; service was excellent and flawless; piano music was great, the guy played non-stop for 1.5h! However, there were two big tables which got occupied with large families shortly after we came. One was just next us with about 8 people and the other was one table away with about 15 people including children and even babies. Very soon it became so noisy we could hardly hear the piano. All these people didn't care about the music at all being fully occupied with their family gatherings. And then a baby started crying... We felt like sitting in a busy diner rather than an upscale romantic place :( The setting, the piano, the waiters in suits, the prices were not in line with what was going on. It was weird. The food was pretty good but falling short of 5 stars on all dishes except soup. Appetizers Bread basket with butter, olive oil, and ricotta - this one was on the house and it was excellent. Fresh, warm, perfect. Roasted Peppers with Fresh Mozzarella - this was a special of the day. The peppers tasted fine, but were most likely from a can, not freshly roasted. Mozzarella slices were quite tasteless with no dressing on top. We had to add salt on them the get some taste. Rooftop Kale Salad - this was fine, but could benefit from a bit more goat cheese and walnuts. It was mostly kale... Mushroom Soup - this was a special of the day. The soup was absolutely delicious! One of the best mushroom soups I ever had in a restaurant. This was the only flawless dish of the evening. Mains Slow Simmered Beef Short Rib - the portion was good size, with nice presentation, sauce, and garnishes. The meat however was quite dry, certainly not melting in the mouth as the rightly cooked short ribs should be. On one side the meat was actually burned! :( I could request a replacement, but really didn't want to go into this and wait while my wife was eating. The salt level was on a higher side - ok, but on a border line. Basil Pesto Crusted Salmon - it was pretty good, though on dry side, not as juicy and tender as you would expect in such a place. Desert Warm Apple Crumb - the tart with ice-cream was ok, nothing special. The white stuff they added around would be better off a whipped cream, but instead it tasted like a super sweet liquid marshmallow. We cannot recommend this restaurant. They need to figure out their identity. read more

We went to Lorenzo to celebrate our anniversary. Although the ambiance is pretty, spacious and elegant, unfortunately the food quality isn't. The French onion soup was so thick that it tasted as if we were drinking gravy instead of soup. The clam appetizer tasted very wine-heavy, as if the alcohol wasn't cooked thoroughly through, resulting in a bitter and unsavory taste. The pappardelle was incredibly bland and the sauce was mild in flavor. The pasta was a bit overly al dente, which detracted from the already negative experience. The ribeye had a nice crust, but the seasoning was once again lacking. The accompanied mushroom and onions had a sour taste to it, which made the entire dish less enjoyable. Overall we were unfortunately disappointed in our dining experience. Although the ambiance is nice and service is friendly, especially with Jakup who was funny, accommodating, and easy to talk to, there is so much room for improvement in regards to the quality of the food. Stayed at the hotel during Thanksgiving. Had breakfast 2 days of our stay at this restaurant. First day, bacon was raw, as was the French toast, frozen in the middle. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Fruit flies were swarming (in Nov!) at our bar seats. Ewww.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Second day, home fries were cold, hard and almost gone. I asked for scrambled eggs which tasted like grease. Not sure if they were liquid eggs- definitely weren't fresh eggs. Felt badly for the wait staff. She was all by herself and clearly overwhelmed. Severely understaffed. If this is really the #1 restaurant in Staten Island, as it claims to be, then I would really not like to visit restaurant #10 on that list. We came by the restaurant as we were already staying in the hotel and wanted an easy option for dinner. I honestly wish I hadn't, as I only had 2 positive experiences out of the evening. I will start with the positives (Unfortunately both don't have to do with the food itself). First, the piano music for dinner was lovely to listen to and really added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. I'm a big fan of any venue continuing to support live arts. Second, the hotel owner came to every table to introduce themselves and interact with the restaurant patrons and that was a nice experience meeting with them. I wish I could say that the evening continued on that wave of positive experiences. But alas, we ended up waiting an hour for food prepared in all sorts of disappointing ways. First off, my burger came out completely charred and overdone, when it was supposed to come out medium. When it was sent back, I was brought a small caprese salad, free of charge. A nice gesture, to be sure! But unfortunately, the tomatoes in the free salad were rotten! It felt like a total slap in the face at that moment. I then finally get my burger prepared properly and it is probably one of the most disappointing and bland burgers I've had in my life. The rest of my party didn't have good experiences either, two of which were waiting an hour just to get a bowl of soup? (Which is confusing to me, since it should be simple to prepare) The other two in my party got the salmon and it was overdone, and the lemon sauce with it was NOT GOOD. The polenta with it was tasteless as well. I ended the night disappointed and still hungry. Do yourself a favor and do not make the same mistake I did by coming here if you're staying in this hotel (which we had other negative experiences with but I'll save that for a review of the actual hotel). read more

Respectable menu variety but not worth the trip if you're not staying at the Hilton. It's a 3-star restaurant presented as if it's a 5-star restaurant, inside a 3-star hotel. There's really nothing to hate here, aside from the person who designed chairs with wavy back slats. The basil encrusted salmon came out like my food did the first time I tried to encrust something, with an overcooked protein and gooey yet grainy "crust." Breakfast is totally respectable for $17 at a 3-star hotel. There is just no way this can be the #1 Restaurant on Staten Island, as proclaimed. read more

A really nice restaurant attached tied to the HGI. Breakfast is also served here. This is a combined dinner and breakfast review. Ample seating and a full bar with decent seating. Lots of tall tops in the bar and 4 tops in the main room. There is a stage for bands or shows. There is a wine room for groups. The food is good to very good. I had the cavatelli after reviewing the menu for a good 10 min. I juts couldn't make up my mind. I spiced up the cavatelli with Parm and black pepper. I wish the sausage would have been spicier. Order the lemon caper sauce for your bread. Wow is it good. Bread also comes with 3 different options. Oil peppermix and butter. My colleagues were both clean plate rangers on their seafood parapadelle dish. Neither stopped eating until it was gone. Breakfast is hot and cold for $14.95. I asked for poached eggs. They were runny instead of the medium I expected. I should have had the omelet. Turkey and pork sausage options. Bacon of course. They also do Pancakes. Normal fruit and breads. Now, keep in mind, I have traveled and works all over the North East through the "pandemic" and never had I come into contact with this level of insanity. I was staying at the Hilton Garden Inn for business and I was hesitant to try this place because I'm an avid Yelper and the 3 stars made me wary. Travel fatigue won and I wandered down for dinner. I found a quiet spot at the bar and was immediately found by an attentive and kind bartender. I ordered the parpadelle at the recommendation of the bartender and the Italian salad. I was impressed at how fresh the veggies in the salad were and the perfect amount of vinaigrette dressing. I was offered fresh ground pepper and it took the salad over the top. My pasta was tasty too! Shrimp was cooked to perfection and was of good size! There was plenty of shrimp in the dish and the tomato sauce was flavorful too. Overall I highly recommend swinging through. Not sure why this place only has 3 stars-definitely deserves 4! read more

First, I want to say the ambience was great I stayed at the hotel and had lunch and two dinners at Lorenzo's. I'd have to say it was mediocre. The prices were above average for average food. I thought it might be a little bit better than what it actually ended up being. The dish I liked most, was the linguine , but the crabcakes were over cooked the chicken soup had three pieces of chicken and zero noodles. All the dishes were a bit bland, and I had to add salt and pepper or Parmesan cheese to everything. All in all it was an OK place to eat but nothing like the advertisements suggest. read more

It had been a lovely evening, until the check came. We were splitting the bill among three of us. Afterwards, the server came back to apologize, explaining that he had only run one of the three cards and not the other two. Two of us provided our cards to run again. Next day, I discovered that my card had, in fact, been charged twice. When I called to have it resolved, I was initially told that the confusion was due to the fact that they don't usually split bills and that they had done it as a "courtesy". (What year is this?) During a follow- up exchange, I was told that they must have run my card twice and not run my friend's card. Rather than simply reversing the erroneous second charge on my card, it would be contingent upon my providing my friend's contact information. After dealing with 3 different staff members, I eventually had to have the charge reversed through my bank. read more

Ok perhaps is how they liked Then I ordered a Creme Brûlée what a Sad experience was based cornstarch it came with a Vanilla icecream ball, the ice cream get no melted after 7 min, deciding to write this Bottom line pricy not good quality food, ok but not good for what they charge. Mussels were ok but the calamari was HARD as a rock. It was so hard that I couldn't put my fork in it. Delmonico's ribeye? 1/4 inch thick? Forget about it! Steak tasted like it was straight from the freezer. Bland, no taste. Cmon, Lorenzo's! Throw some salt and pepper on it! I could of made a better steak at home with my eyes closed. Price wise your going to be spending close to 100 dollars per person if you order apps, entree and a couple of drinks. Would I return? Hell no! Too many options on the island. The food here is average. There is no beer on tap. The wine selection is limited. There is a happy hour menu which provides some small and tasty selections for about seven dollars per dish. Staying here at the Hilton Garden Inn and decided to eat at Lorenzo's with my fiancé. I'll get straight to the point and let it be known that the food is terrible. The water glasses that were at the table were dirty and we asked for them to be replaced. (Wasn't water spots, was actual Food particles on glass). Decided to order our food to go so we could bring back to our hotel room. Regret doing this because once we got settled in to eat, the food didn't taste good at all. After a few bites of what we ordered we both felt as if we should of went back down stairs to see if we could be refunded. The breaded chicken in the chicken scarpariello was dry and hard to chew. The lemon Chardonnay sauce was just overwhelming. My fiancé ordered the Lobster ravioli with arugula/diced tomatoes and she was disappointed about the quantity of what she paid for. This is my first time hearing or eating at this place and it wasn't a very pleasant experience. Maybe I need to explore the menu a little more before I judge the quality of this restaurant based off the two Entrées we ordered. read more

The only reason Im giving this rating is our waiter.  In short, he was terrible.  We came in around ten thirty on Saturday morning for the breakfast buffet after a fun night enjoying our room in the hotel. We had on our pajamas and the hosts sat us right away.   Jimmy J was our waiter/server according to our receipt.  He came off a little aloof at first,  I thought,  hey,  it's still early,  maybe hes not up yet.   The dining room was empty and it was buffet style so I didn't expect much service... that is until we asked for coffee and then juice and it felt like I was bothering him by asking.  Fast forward.  We came back for dinner later that evening and to our surprise, we had Jimmy again. Poor guy. Poor us. We were seated right away and the dining room was beautifully lit and the lounge pianist was so soothing and set a wonderful mood. Jimmy coldly asked us if we wanted drinks, and swiftly left. He never stayed at our table more than a few seconds to interact with us. Again, I felt I was bothering him when we finally ordered. Other patrons near us got a sweeter Jimmy. He laughed with them, I over heard him mention specials and other things that weren't on the printed menu he dropped on the table.   (Our meal was wonderful! Great prices and great portions!) We were alone most of our meal. A different host checked on us. I saw jimmy check other tables many times before he returned to ours, which he simply peeked at whole swiftly passing us.  He didn't ask us what brought us to the area. He had seen us twice in the same day. I would have told him it was one of our birthdays and that's why we even came here in the first place. Instead, I had to flag him down to see a dessert menu.  He seemed to rush the check on us and by this point, my partner and I were just not feeling welcome at all.  We swallowed our drinks and left. We really wish we got one of the other servers we encountered. Hopefully this message gets to Jimmy and the management at Lorenzos. read more
