Waited in a really long line to get this- I blame my daughter for her sweet tooth. Once you get inside, the lines do move quick & the staff are super friendly too. We got the pumpkin spice & Dubai chocolate cannolis, slice of Boston cream pie & a Boston cream donut. Everything here looked delicious, sugar-filled & heavy- lots of desserts to choose from. We thought the cannolis were pretty good- they had a perfectly crisp shell with a rich, creamy filling. I had mine the next day, refrigerated & it still tasted fresh, yum. The Boston cream donut was soft & chocolaty with a nice custard filling that my daughter & I enjoyed. The Boston cream pie was our least favorite, it's like a moist/ wet yellow cake that tasted surprisingly airy but the chocolate ganache made it very messy to eat. This place is definitely worth trying out.
So many options for bakery and very sweet. Lines were long but it was worth the wait. Don't like the cash only option without atm in store and it's obvious how cash will be dispersed and not taxed Loud so have order ready but do go
Very disappointed. Cannolis are not truly Italian. Too sweet. The eclair tasted like the filling was canned vanilla pudding. What a waste of $15.
If I had to describe this bakery in one word, it would be CHAOS. I honestly couldn't figure out where the line started or ended. There was just a sea of people packed in front of the counter, all trying to place their orders. Of course, I ended up behind two gentlemen who proceeded to order FIVE boxes of assorted baked goods. Needless to say, my wait was extra long. And FYI: IT'S CASH ONLY! So, what did I get? Just over a pound of cookies: cherry butter cookies, sprinkle cookies, chocolate sandwich cookies, and pignoli. Unfortunately, most of the cookies were a bit disappointing. They were on the dry side and didn't really do much for me. BUT THE PIGNOLI COOKIES... WOW! They were AMAZING--tasty, chewy, and absolutely worth every bite. In the end, the pignoli cookies saved the day and made the whole experience worth it. Next time, I'm skipping the assortment and going straight for a box of pignoli cookies. Those are the real MVPs!
Mike's Pasty was a must visit when we took the train to North Station. It is located in Little Italy about a 5-8 minute walk from the station. Parking is extremely tight if you are driving and tickets are handed out, so you have been warned. The assortment of pastries is mind boggling, we ordered 2 cannolis and a cream puff. The cream was sweet and incredibly delicious in the cream puff, it was not overwhelming at all. The cannoli was PACKED with filling. The shell was fresh and crispy as well. Our total was $21 for the 3. Highly recommended!
During my trip to Boston I tried Modern, Mike's and Bova's and the cannoli from Mike's was my least favorite. You can't get a single mini cannoli and the full size cannoli is $8 for reference. I found the filling to be dense and thick and the flavor of the chocolate chips was not as chocolatey as the ones at the other two shops. It's cash only. If I were to come back to North End I'd probably skip Mike's and head to one of the other two spots.

This an iconic location and iconic cannolis. Cash only and they serve you fast and out the door. It's a large store but no seating. So be prepared to take it to go or stand and eat. Got the mint and the chocolate covered. Of course both were amazing and filling. They are really large cannolis. Tried the Dubai but it wasn't as good. They have so many other pastries as well. Worth trying them all!
2/10 - It's a tourist trap! The line was sooooo long, and the pastries are so mid and kinda stale. For a place that only takes cash, the pastries were kinda expensive for what it was.
What can I say? The HYPE is real. I was there on a Monday, no wait. I got a regular canoli and ate it right out of the box. So fresh and yummy. Don't let a line deter you, it moves fast. Just go. That is all. Cash only.
This location is the original, but there are now others. It tends to be crowded with about 6 or so long lines. It's probably because it's a block from the Freedom Trail near Paul Revere's house and popular Italian restaurants and shops. If you see people walking around with a white (multiple cannolis/desserts) or blue (single cannoli) box tied with string, you know you must be nearby a Mike's Pastry. Though the line gets long, it does move quickly, and there are periods where it's not so crowded inside. It's cash only at this location. I didn't think I'd be here that day and realized I didn't crab enough cash but saw the sign for Uber Eats and GrubHub pick up, so I just placed an order for pick up from my phone on Uber Eats. It took about 5 minutes when I got my cute blue box order. There is a Bank of America down the same street if you need to withdraw cash which I later did. I'm sure there's also ATMs nearby. I think it's easier and quicker to order through Uber Eats or GrubHub and pick up. I've been here once before about 12 years ago. I tried the pistachio cannoli that time and loved it. This time, I wanted to try a different flavor, so I got the hazelnut cannoli. It didn't have the nuts I was expecting from the photo on the wall. It didn't quite taste like hazelnut to me at all. I regretted not trying something else. I eventually did at Hub Hall (another food hall) connected to North Station. This location is a little more expensive by $1-2 for cannolis compared to the one in Hub Hall and sells other desserts like turnovers, donuts, croissants and sticks if you don't want a cannoli (but then why come here for anything else?) There's also nowhere to sit.
I was so excited to try Mike's after moving to Boston and learning about the cannoli essential experience in the North End. The long line outside was a great sign and luckily it moved pretty quickly! They are cash only as well as Modern Pastry down the road. Be prepared to order and pay fast. The chocolate ricotta cannoli was absolutely divine and the best cannoli I ever had. The Dubai I thought was a bit overdone with the pistachio filling and it tasted more sugary than nutty imo. I will definitely be back again for the chocolate ricotta cannoli and try some more of the classic flavors!
Let me preface my review by saying that I am not a cannoli fan. I rather spend $8 on a different dessert, like a really good gelato. However, Mike's cannolis is an iconic Boston pastry shop that is a must-stop for first-time visitors. There are so many different flavors of cannolis. I got their blueberry mascarpone flavor and it was unique. All the cannolis are a bit too sweet for me (1 star off) and the other desserts do not look appealing (1 star off). Again, this is my opinion only. Note: Cash only.

We were recommended by a few people to stop into Mikes Pastry while we were visiting Boston. This was definitely the best recommendation we got. Wow, what a scene, what chaos, beautiful, organized chaos. Strolling around the area was a bit surreal. Crowds, smells, sights, everything a big city of yesteryear should have. Coming by this place, crowds thronged both inside and outside. I figured, "well shoot, we have to stand in this line" and we did. Nearly as soon as we did, a man came from the inside and started yelling saying that we need to squish in and the rest to form orderly lines. It was honestly funny and much needed as people were just amassing any which way. Once order was regained, we found a spot in one of about 15 lines inside and patiently waited to get a glimpse of these pastries. Getting to the front, the tired woman helped us almost begrudgingly but also dutifully. She tried to explain what was inside thee pastries to me as I was a newb but some of the explanation was lost in translation. My mother and I decided to get a lobster tail and a chocolate chip cannoli. Both were monstrous, flaky, and tasty. The lobster tail is a layered pastry resembling a lobster's tail, hollow but filled with cream, cheese, and other soft fillings. I didn't try my mother's cannoli but she quite enjoyed it. Now, although these were good, I don't think they were worth the wait and if I lived there, I definitely wouldn't bother with the crowds to get these. This may be one of the greatest debates in the Boston north end area...who makes the best cannolis: Modern bakery or Mike's bakery? What better way to resolve this than to test them both. Mike's = sweeter filling, softer shell, larger cannolis (between the two), and an array of options. Oh my the OPTIONS! Chocolate, chocolate dipped, chocolate chip, espresso, chocolate drizzled, sweet cream, Oreo, lemoncello, plain, pistachio, the list goes on and on and on. And on and on and on. The one we absolutely had to get was the chocolate chip, because our family was over at Modern pastry grabbing that as well for a taste-off. The line was easily 100 people deep, circling around the block. I will say it went a lot faster than I was expecting, but as we entered Mike's pastry we realized there were eight employees running around filling pastry boxes at Godspeed. Each cannoli was $5 and we got four: ricotta, chocolate chip, chocolate dipped and espresso, and a slice of tiramisu because that's my favorite dessert of all time. Let's not discuss the fact that 30 minutes before this, we had a huge Italian meal at Dolce Vita and ended the meal with a tiramisu... Modern = equally long line, which is why we split parties, slightly smaller cannoli and a harder pastry shell (less flaky), also $5/ea. Cutting both Modern and Mike's cannolis was a challenge in it of itself. Cannolis aren't meant to be cut with a dull butter knife, but we had to find a location for where we could taste test and next-door to Mike's pastry sat a little coffee café. Three lattes and two cappuccinos later, one tiny 2-person top table surrounded by 5 chairs, one dull butter knife and two boxes of cannolis later, we were ready to begin the competition. Final tally = 2 votes for Mike's, 2 votes for Modern, 1 party liked them equally. I chose modern in the end because the filling was less sweet, and the less sweet for me the better. I felt the filling matched with the harder pastry shell made for the perfect combination. I must say both were absolutely fantastic. Me and hubby went to Boston for his birthday trip from the wifey and Mike's didn't disappoint us on trying our very first cannoli espresso and the other I can't think of was favorite It was so good we brought back the chocolate peanut butter brownie back to Texas for the kiddos and couple of espresso cannoli's!! Great cannolis. Everywhere we went with our Mike's boxes we heard from the locals " you must not be from around here". Apparently all the tourist go to Mike's. The cannolis were huge and very tasty. Their eclair was top notch and our favorite item in the box. read more

Holy Cannoli. We tried the pistachio and chocolate ricotta cannolis. Loved the pistachio, but sorta wish I stole a few more bites from my friends cannoli. It was stuffed full and is a total classic. Make sure you bring cash because it's cash only. They know how to do it right read more
I was recommended by many, many people to go to Mike's pastries for the best cannoli they've ever had in their entire life! I couldn't miss out on trying the best cannoli. This is a classic pastry shop with so many different options. The brownies looked amazing, but I was there on a mission to get the cannoli. We got the chocolate chip classic cannoli and shared it, they're very large and tasty. I'm going to also check out Modern which is across the street and apparently is comparable, you'll see my review on that later. There are a few tables to sit and enjoy your dessert, which I appreciated. The cookies looked really good, but there's only so much room in my stomach and we're on vacation, so I couldn't take it home and eat later. If I lived here, I'd probably want to try everything! read more
I was expecting it to be packed based on the reviews, but on a Tuesday late afternoon there were only a couple people in here, yay! The cannolis are huge and they have a ton of flavors! I went with the chocolate chip, pistachio, and hazelnut. The shells had a perfect crunch and the filling was creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. We visited Boston for less than 26 hours for a wedding. To kill time my friend asked me if I like cannoli in which I said, "nah not my type of dessert." I have tried cannolis in various restaurants and even homemade ones and still I am I always ." It's alright". My friend insisted I try Mikes pastry. I gave in since the wedding wasn't until a few more hours. We walked around Little Italy and as we enter the store my friend asks me if I have cash because she doesn't... I was like why?... yup you guessed it, it's a cash only bakery. The line was almost out the door and seats were very limited but the line goes by fast. There were so many different flavor... too many choices equals a confused child. We decided on getting four different flavors: original, pistachio, lemon, amaretto with nuts. Hands down THE best I ever eaten. I loved the original and amaretto... pistachio came in close or almost tied with the original and my least favorite was the lemon filling. They were not too sweet, full of flavor and they are huge! After a few bites I was craving for more but I was already full. I brought my leftovers to California.. hand carried it through tsa, layovers and connections, I had a lot of comments, some even tried to ask them from me. When I got home it was time to see if the cannolis withstood the trials of travel... The shell was still crunchy after 24 hours and the filling was just as delicious as it came out from the bakery. FOOD - Pistachio Cannoli: these cannolis are huge! The pastry was crunchy and the filling was sweet but not too sweet. Mines with dipped with pistachios. Yummy! 4/5 - Boston Creme Puffs: The puff was filled with cream and dipped with chocolate. I really wanted to love these but my puff tasted day old. The cream was sweet. 3.5/5 SERVICE: Not sure. A Boston must-go but a little overrated... Mike's Pastry has been a staple around Boston for the longest time. They serve delicious and authentic Italian cannolis along with many other pastries like lobster tail, boston cream pie, italian cookies and much more. I'll start with the food - the cannolis are solid and big. There is a reason this place has all this hype. However, if you are from NYC, I would skip over this touristy foodie spot. Little Italy has amazing cannolis and I prefered the ones in NY more than Mike's Pastry. For everyone else, I would definitely recommend stopping here. Stick to the cannolis and maybe get a lobster tail. The boston cream will disappoint you. The cream is very heavy and the dough is just OK. It just didn't hit the spot for me unfortunately. The florentine cannoli though is mouth-watering. It is the shop's best seller and also has a unique shell unlike the rest. Make sure you share it with someone else so you can try another cannoli here or maybe at Modern Pastry across the street. As for service - wow...get ready to wait. The shop only has one register that everyone uses and they do CASH only...It is very inconvenient but there is an ATM across the street. As an Italian, these are some of the best cannolis I've had. Crunchy. Crisp. Good flavor. Not overly sweet. I'm actually very amazed. It's a touristy place, but the flavor and texture is bar none one of the most memorable cannolis I've ever had. Great company and great food. Can't go wrong. Also fast service! read more

I'm not a huge cannoli fan, but Mike's Pastry was pretty decent and probably amazing if you're into cannolis. We hopped off the trail and stopped by this busy place for a snack - be prepared for decently long lines and a ton of tourists. Mike's offers a ton of different flavors, we opted for the chocolate covered and espresso. Definitely recommend a flavored cream like the espresso if you're not a huge fan of cannolis. PS. By far, has the best cannolis I've ever had in the United States! Cash only, and two ATMs are located across the street! I was in Boston for work and I had received tons of recommendations to specifically visit the original location located in the North End and I was not dissapointed! I ordered a chocolate chip cannoli and a pistachio cannoli, which I actually brought back to my hotel to divulge in alone, without jusgement. I ate one cannoli and my body could not handle any more simply because they were so filling and so delicious! The outside was super crunchy and the inside was soft and creamy and writing this review is making me want to go back and have another! I also ordered a lobster tail, another recommendation I kept getting, and it was so good but definitely not for only one person! read more

I'll be real: Overhyped. I mean quality cannoli, trash customer service. I understand efficiency, but when there's only 5 other people in the restaurant..there's no need to cut me off mid sentence to ask for the 3rd time what I want. Holy Cannoli! This is one tasty cannoli making business. If you've been wondering about the lines they are usually long. In order to get your cannoli you are in a pretty small space with a bunch of people also waiting in line like a squished cannoli, but in all honesty it's worth the wait. Patience is a virtue and in this case it ends happily with a a cannoli or another artistry pasty that they make. Mikes been in the game for a bit and I had to try for myself. I was not disappointed. I got the mint chip cannoli and my girlfriend got the chocolate dipped cannoli. Everything about the taste and texture was sensational. I especially like how they design your to go box in front of you, really nice. Please make sure to bring cash as they do not accept credit cards. I know It's hard nowadays to carry cash, but this may be that exception to carry some loose change. Can't wait to come back and try another exceptional tasting cannoli.
