    50/50 (2 bacon & 2 sausage)
    Carolen M.

Mil's Diner is a Milpitas institution. I've been here in the past but this time I came in with a few friends to do a major catch up as it had been a couple years since we met up. So they decided why not Mil's? L O C A T I O N Mil's Diner is located off of Calaveras Blvd and Abbott Ave. It's in a plaza close to Goodwill. The parking situation here can be very difficult during the busy times of eating. I N S I D E It's a diner! Yes it feels like an old school diner with a bar area and booths to sit in. They do have a restroom if you need it. M E N U It's a fairly extensive menu with all your good ol' diner food from breakfast fare to lunch. That day I decided I'd get the 50/50 (2 bacon & 2 sausage) with over easy eggs, hashbrowns and sourdough bread. Pricing feels a little bit on the high side, but to be honest it's been so long since I've been to a diner that this might be normal. How was it? It was good! The hashbrowns a tad bit oily, but I was expecting that. Eggs good, bacon crispy, sausage bouncy. S E R V I C E It was warm, friendly and lovely. The wait though was uff. So if you can send out someone early to scout the line or I'm unsure if they can put your name down as you drive over. But the wait times can get really long. I think we waited about an hour or maybe 40-ish min? But this was a Sunday at lunch time and we had 4 people. We actually paid by cash which was easier for all of us and we didn't need change back. Amazing when we all have cash handy. O V E R A L L I think it's a pretty solid diner with good food with friendly service. I'm sure we'll come back again as we enjoyed our time there and catching up. Just be prepared for the wait as it's just that popular!

11/8/25 Back in the area for brunch and kiddos wanted an all American brunch. We haven't had Mil's in awhile and had to come back. Solid breakfast as expected. Chicken and waffle (4 piece chicken - breast, leg, wing and thigh) - not tenders like most other places! Kids ordered country fried steak (with over medium eggs and crispy hash) while the other wanted one with over easy eggs and regular hash. I got the mimosa and my lil one added a hot chocolate. Service is family friendly. Ambiance is comfy diner feel. Ample parking available. We came at 9:30 and it was a 20 minute wait.

One of our favorite breakfast spots! Small kine coffee shop w/ friendly staff and great food. We've been coming for years now. Try it out! Easy parking in lot. Early not as long if wait.

GAMBLING SUPERSTITION: STEAK BREAKFAST Athletes have a routine before games. If their routine breaks the athletes feel back luck will come. I'm not a professional athlete however as a horse racing gambler I have a routine before I go to the racetrack. I eat breakfast at a diner where I order steak. If the steak is overcooked when I go to the racetrack I lose. I picked this place last Saturday as I wanted to try a new diner. I've been to Mel's Diner in San Francisco. This place appears to be a play on the town's name Milpitas. I sat at the counter. When I looked at the breakfast menu it lists ribeye, which I ordered. I asked the ribeye to be cooked medium rare. Instead of toast I paid extra for English muffin. Lately at diners I noticed that steaks served tend to be thin cut. When my ribeye was served the steak was thin cut. I was concerned because previous steaks I've ordered have been overcooked because they were thin cuts even though I requested to be cooked medium rare. Also those steaks tended to be dry. When I cut the ribeye juices were oozing. The ribeye was tasty and moist. I enjoyed my steak. After breakfast I headed to a parimutuel facility to bet on horse races. I ended up winning money at the track. My luck on the racetrack depends on how I enjoyed my steak still exists. I came back the following day. I noticed the day before the serving of chicken and waffle. I've seen pictures on Yelp of the chicken and waffle at Mil's Diner. The best chicken and waffles I ate at the Bay Area was at LB Steak on Santana Row in San Jose. The chicken and waffle at Mel's Diner is $9 less than at LB Steak. When the chicken and waffle was served there were four pieces of fried chicken drenched with honey on top of one waffle. I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffle at Mil's Diner. Is it better than I ate at LB Steak? Even though I get four pieces of fried chicken at Mil's Diner the single piece of fried chicken at LB Steak was super moist and what made that piece of chicken impressive was it was the breast, which tends to be dry. Even though I get two waffles at LB Steak the single waffle at Mil's Diner was crispy. I love my waffles to be crispy not soggy. What's my verdict? The chicken and waffle served at Mil's Diner is in my top two of chicken and waffle dishes in the Bay Area. When you enter Mil's Diner the place is small compared to most diners. Even though this place is small since I enjoyed my two breakfast servings I'll come to Mil's Diner to try new items.

I came here for a date! I love the menu and the cozy little mom and pop seating inside. The menu is pretty extensive and they even offer Latino dishes like huevo con chorizo with tortillas! I ordered the French toast and it was very surprising because the toast felt so rich and buttery. The flavor was absolutely delicious. It tasted like the batter was made with something thick and delicious, much unlike other French toasts I've tried. I would definitely love to try this place again! Service was quick and they're quick with giving you your food and helping you clean up for the next guest. Super friendly and kind staff.

I just had the Country Fried Steak, what a feast! The portions are huge! The steak was cooked to perfection and scrambled eggs were delicious. The hash browns were cooked to perfection. Another hit.

Loved the old timey classic diner vibe, cozy and nostalgic. I went with the #1 combo - they were able to do 1 bacon and 1 sausage which I appreciated, and it also came with 2 eggs, hash browns, and toast. I also got a buttermilk pancake on the side. The combo was pretty standard brunch, reliable and classic. I do think the hash browns could've been crispier though. The syrup for the buttermilk pancake was also kind of hardened, and it wasn't super liquidy like normal pancake syrup. Felt a bit plastic-like. The pancake itself was great though with fluffy soft texture. Service was wonderful and food came out quickly, would come back in the future for a classic brunch vibe.

We came to Mil's to fuel up for yet another big hike. The servings here is massive and fairly priced for this day and age. Our coffees were refilled frequently. Retro diner feel. Good service. Shopping center parking lot. Open early. Please come and create your own adventure.

This is first time I and my husband went there. We ordered crab cake Benedict and CA Benedict. Both dishes were good. We ask hash brown to make extra crispy, they did it. Amount of food was generous portion.

Mil's Diner is definitely one of those old-school, local hole-in-the-wall spots. The place has a bit of a dated feel. The service was the highlight. Our server was bubbly and welcoming, which made the experience much more enjoyable. As for the food, it was just okay. I had the Popeye omelette, which was decent but nothing to rave about. My husband and I also split an order of waffles, and those were fine as well. It wasn't special, but not bad either.

This is my favorite breakfast spot! The service is always fantastic! Plus the owner is always helping out too, which is a rare sight as not many will be this involved. I always get a sense of a family atmosphere. The food is also great. My two favorite dishes are the chicken and Waffle and the country special. The chicken is a great size! All the food portions are also great. I definitely recommend this breakfast spot in Milpitas. I became a regular because of how often i go.

Stopped by on a Wednesday morning and it was pretty busy. Ample parking which is a plus. There isn't a wait when you walk in which is great. Was greeted immediately once I entered. Definitely a homey old diner type feel and I noticed they have tons of regular at the location. You can tell the vibe and atmosphere is great here based on relationships with customers and team working there. What we ordered: My son got French Toast: it crispy and tasted good per my son lol. My daughter got the #3: Two pancakes, bacon with scrambled eggs. The pancakes were fluffy, and she loved how the butter melted immediately on the pancake. Eggs were scrambled perfectly and bacon wasn't too soggy or too hard. I got the all meat omelette: The omelette was hefty and was flavorful and delicious. The hash browns were good and wasn't oily. Overall a decent breakfast spot to try out when you're in the Milpitas area. There is a service charge when you use a credit card.

First time coming here with hubby for brunch Wednesday. Staff is really friendly and felt welcomed. Pretty fast service. Food was fresh and great. Pretty good for breakfast spot. Definitely would stop by again if we are feeling like going out to grab breakfast. And plenty of parking since it's in same plaza as O'Riely.

Great Food Local Restaurant been coming here for years. You won't regret it!

Since every drink is freshly brewed to order, I decided to give it a try--and I was completely blown away. The jasmine tea was incredibly rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with the creamy A2 milk. As someone who's extremely picky about boba tea, I have to say they got everything exactly right. So many places make their jasmine tea taste overly floral or perfume-like, but here the flavor was delicate, smooth, and just the right intensity. And let's talk about the boba--it was cooked perfectly! Soft, fresh, and delightfully chewy, exactly how boba should be. Beyond the drinks, the atmosphere is absolutely charming. The décor is beautiful, warm, and thoughtfully designed. It feels like stepping into a little fairyland rather than a typical grab-your-drink-and-go boba shop. Every detail--from the chairs and tables to the decorations--comes together to create an elegant, high-end experience that makes you want to stay and relax. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you receive. I also want to give a special shout-out to Lynda, who was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and happy to answer all of my questions and concerns. It started with the barbacoa chilaquiles. When I saw that that the chilaquiles in the menu had habaneros on it, I knew I had found my place. I often cook at home with ghost and scorpion peppers, which are not traditionally found in restaurants, but they've done some pretty amazing improvisation when I've asked to make it work. One time, I recall getting the chilaquiles and asking for extra habaneros and asking if their chef had a secret hot sauce that was stronger than "white people spicy." Miriam brought me a little ramekin of a pepper sauce puree that the chef prepared - and it was EPIC. I don't ask for that every time, but you know whoever was on the line took the request seriously and actually had some fun making my mouth burn. I can't tell you how appreciative I am of their willingness to "play" in the kitchen. Today, I went for breakfast and ordered the Carne En Su Jugo for my first time. Not just here - first time ever eating it anywhere. I had totally forgotten to ask them to make it spicy! I asked Miriam if there was anything they could do to spice it up. She assured me they could. Then I received it. And I tasted it. And it was cathartic. The chefs prepared a PERFECTLY spicy stew, and I downed that whole thing in 7 minutes. It was delicious, put some sweat on my brow, and left me feeling more than satisfied with my meal. I love this place! Miriam is always great every time I've been there. I will continue supporting this business as long as they keep doing business. Please give my compliments to the chefs again. Their creativity keeps me coming back for spicy treats!

Bonus points for having fun seasonal choices. The kids menu has good options but it is kinda pricey for being the kids menu. Bonus points because they use handmade tortillas for the kids taco. They also offer unique things like a breakfast molcajete and a mini birria pambazo. We didn't try those but it sounded intriguing. Also so many drink choices if you're looking for a michelada or mimosa. Cute vibes inside & love the plates and ceramics they use. It is small though so wouldn't really accommodate a large group easily, especially if it's busy. There is parking but even though it wasn't busy it was hard to find a spot. All that said, it was a very mid experience. The meat for the kids birria and the chilaquiles was more on the dry side. Same for the rice. The Grinch milkshake was good and cute. The tamarindo mimosa was good after we asked for extra tamarindo. Initially it was very heavy on the champagne. The country potatoes were yummy. The gingerbread pancakes were also dry & didn't taste like gingerbread. Also was sad that they were out of the advertised Holiday drinks: chocolate abuelita and atole de mazapán. I ordered the hot chocolate in its place but even though it looked cute, it tasted watery. I came here specifically for the Holiday items so that's why I was so disappointed with that. Service was okay. Our server was friendly when we interacted with her but it was very limited. Pretty much when she took our order & then when I flagged her down to return my pancakes & hot chocolate. She was very understanding though about that so I appreciated that. Overall, if they made adjustments to their flavor & quality it could be really good. From this visit I would say their Mexican food is better than their American food. I'd try again in the future, just not any time soon.

The food can take long for a reason and there's no music or TV anywhere so it's quiet. The furniture is random as well; some from an office space, elementary school, and an all wooden table with chairs from someone's grandma's house. Me and my co workers ordered 2 burritos: Regular steak and eggs and a steak bulgogi. We waited maybe 15 mins for our which wasn't too long. The burritos had this soft white cheese melted on top which gave the tortilla this vanilla sweetness. I didn't really like that. The steak meat was sweet but didn't have that bulgogi marinade taste. Both of our burritos tasted like a plain egg, potato, and blank steak breakfast burrito. It was nothing special but the size is huge and one can be shared by two people. The burritos came with this sweet chipotle sauce with some sweet peppers in which it did add some flavor. Kenny is the man though! He's super nice and proud. He's very entertaining and enjoys talking to his guests. His son is in the army so it's one of the reasons why he's very patriotic. Is it a bit much?! You can actually see them fresh baking pastries while you're sitting. We didn't go overly sweet because it was the morning, but I would love to come back in the afternoon to have a nice sweet treat and a cappuccino. For my family of three we definitely got over excited in order too much, but each bite was delicious. We got a leek quiche, a banana latte, spinach, artichoke danish, mango croissant, almond croissant, and a ham and cheese croissant. I was trying to increase the protein to not spike my blood sugar. Lol. I'd have to say the mango and the almond croissant were probably my favorite. The strong second would definitely be the artichoke and spinach croissant danish thing. Sorry, I forgot what they called it. They offered to heat it up a bit and I definitely recommend this. They did the perfect temperature for the perfect timing. Just enough to make the outside flaky and the inside warm and soft. The pieces that had cheeses were so much better warmed up. They definitely know what they're doing there. Seating was great. I'd love the decor. You can also order off of a menu, but we were too enamored with the actual pastries to even glance at it. I took photos but made sure to not take photos of the staff. I let the staff know that I wouldn't include their faces without their permission. they were very friendly and very appreciative. My family loved your little shop and we will definitely be back when we're in the area.

I've visited several times for brunch with friends, and my recommendation is to come early as the line can reach out the door and down the sidewalk. At the same time, I give a lot of credit to the staff who are always friendly and helpful with indecisive patrons who are always asking questions and unsure of what to get. Somehow, they keep the lines moving at a good clip. The inside has lots of seating but it fills up fast. And it gets pretty loud. There isn't really anyone cleaning up the tables as it is self busing so it can get a bit crazy and messy by midday. Somehow, I keep coming back to drop $60-80 at a time everytime I visit.

I love having breakfast at Bill's Cafe. Unfortunately, this location is not the same experience as the two other locations I've tried. The hostess told us they had no tables, and we could sit at the bar. My daughter stated she would rather be seated at a table, and we could wait. Three customers were walking past us, and the hostess said we could have their table. We were immediately seated in a booth, and we noticed there were at least five empty tables around us, peculiar. Whatever, we had time to look and decide what we each wanted. When our waiter came for our orders, he was quick and efficient. We didn't have to wait long for our meals and drinks to arrive. We generally liked our food, but the country potatoes were a little too firm, and seemed like they weren't cooked all the way through. We had to wait awhile for refills on our drinks. We caught the hostess walking by, and asked if we could get refills and napkins. She said okay, but brought only napkins, and we waited some more for refills on coffee and water. The hostess seemed a bit brusque, on the other hand our waiter was, quick and professional. I will drive a little further to the Alameda location, because the Newbury location is not as great, or team conscious as the other location.
