Had this place bookmarked even before we moved to Milpitas. Finally got a chance of trying it over the weekend. The place was just a mile away from our place. After reading the previous reviews I was anticipating a long wait but we got our table in just 5 minutes. The place seemed quite popular among the locals. Food Mediterranean Omelette 4/5 It was from the weekend special. I subsisted whole eggs with only egg whites. Omelette came with a side of hash brown and wheat toast. I didn't like the cheese on top but overall the omelette was yummy. Had perfect mediterranean flavor and sausage was cooked and very well seasoned. I think the star of the plate was the hash. It was so crispyyy !! Just the way I like it. Make your own Omelette 5/5 My husband made his own omelette. He selected beef as his protein and it was super juicy and just yum !!! He really enjoyed it !! It also came with a side of hash and wheat toast. French Toast with Bacon 3/5 Only reason I am not giving this entree a 5 star is because it was a huge plate for a kid's meal. It would have been difficult for me and my husband to finish the whole thing. The toast was delicious, I didn't like the bacon it was over cooked. Overall, We really enjoyed the food. The owners, European descent, are super friendly and call on their frequent visitors by their name. We are not quite there yet, but pretty soon we will be accepted into their dining family. The food is very delicious with an old fashioned and family style preparation. As an example, their 3 egg omelettes define gravity by their hefty 3 inch thickness, and are loaded with your desired or per-selected ingredients. I think they should patent their method of preparation, since I have never encountered such a fluffy omelette. To further sweet talk my shrimp and cheese omelette, it was a steal for only $8.95. While Mil's is still one of my fave breakfast places in the South Bay, it isn't the same as it was before. Service is slower and the food quality not as spectacular. Don't get me wrong, it's still great (especially the bacon). However, depending on which staff member you get, they may not be as attentive. I have a fave waitress and I make sure that we get her every time we go, if we don't, we find that the experience isn't as spectacular. Prices have also gone up considerably compared to when we started coming here a few years back, but I guess that is to be expected due to the area. read more

Was craving some breakfast, so I decided to try this diner based upon Yelp reviews The service was slow... I get it, the place is packed, but you should at least acknowledge someone or say hi. I had to flag down my waitress to place my order. Maybe she was having a bad day...she seemed fairly unpleasant. I sat at the bar, which is in front of the kitchen window and all I heard from her were complaints and some sarcastic remarks at her co-workers...felt bad for them. Enough ranting...onto the food itself. I got the eggs Benedict. Most certainly not the best I had. While it was definitely edible, nothing stood out about it. I'm in LOVE with Greek people, culture and more importantly, Greek food! What the heck does all this Greece talk have to do with this diner? Well...let me tell ya! The owners of this diner are actually a couple from Sparta. Yes, like Spartans from the movie 300. We had to put our name down the morning we arrived here and the wait was...not that bad but I can tell this place can get REAL packed REAL fast. We ended up chatting it up with Roula, the wifey owner. She told us all about how they took over this diner and plan to move back to Greece once their children are all settled into their adult life. She even taught me some Greek that morning. Made me super happy! :) Okay, onto the service and food. Waitress: Didn't get her name but she was very efficient and extremely friendly. I was seated fairly quickly.. it was just me and my Daughter.. Terry, our server greeted us by sitting across from us and started a conversation w/ my Daughter.. we felt comfortable and ordered away. She got the eggs, bacon, sausage, and toast and I ordered the jalapeño and sausage omelet.. the toast was buttered lightly, not just 2 pieces of bread toasted in the toaster.. the hash browns were not greasy, not too crunchy/crispy, and just melted in my mouth.. the omelet was so good that there was nothing left when I went to go pay!! This place was suggested by my friend's mom & I'm glad she did! It's a bit hard to find. Look for the big sign that says RESTAURANT. Seated immediately by a very welcoming hostess. I ordered from the breakfast specials: country fried steak topped with gravy plus sides: scrambled eggs & hashbrowns & sourdough toast! Portions are humongous! Country fried steak was super good! I loved the gravy!! It was smothered in gravy though. Had to scoop some off. My eggs were cooked the way I liked it & the hashbrowns had the crispy top with the soft inside. I wish I could give it a better rating, but I give this place a 1.5/5. I went here with a group of 6 other friends to grab some brunch. The parking lot was huge and we ended up getting a booth which was nice. I ordered a bowl of Broccoli cheese soup ($6 after tax and tip) while the rest of my friends ordered heartier meals. I got my soup fast, but the rest of my friends waited about 35 minutes which wasn't cool. The waitress came by every 10 min. to apologize for the long wait which was nice, but wow we waited a long time. We waitied longer than families of 5 who were seated 5-10 min. after us....As for the bowl of soup, it was meh. I'd rather go to Quiznos or somewhere else for broccoli cheese. It was thick, like clumpy thick. Unless you're into that I do not recommend this. I'm not saying to water it down, but it should be thick, creamy, smooth, and hot. On the plus side, the bowl I got was massive. Way bigger than I expected. So much that I couldn't finish it. Or maybe it's because I just did not like the soup.... Once the other food arrived the table became quiet since everyone scarfed everything down due to our rumbling tummies. The servings were enormous! Some of us could not finish because there was just too much. The service was definitely slow. Like very slow. But thankfully the staff was very nice and apologetic and our waitress gave us a complimentary waffle which I heard tasted really good! Even though I noticed this place has won "Best Diner in Milpitas" for many years, I most likely will not be coming back. This is very much the old school american diner located just off the highway in milpitas, It's in it's own strip mall thingy with a half dozen other businesses but even so there will be no shortage of on site parking, The layout is typical old school american diner-lots of booths, tables, and a fair amount of counter seating. upon occasion they put out some patio tables on the sidewalk, but the outside seating is meh to the max. All sidewalk and parking views, nothing green. I came on a very quiet weekday late morning (9 am ish) and the while the staff was sparse, the service was not. The one waitress worked all three tables with aplomb, and the one cook was highly competent. He runs a tight kitchen. No real delays with anything, and my order came out with reasonable speed, fresh and hot. I went with the country fried steak and eggs with biscuits because that's how I roll. The menu is more on the classic american diner style foods then some-not a lot of latin influences. Lots of omelette/egg/meat combos. The waffles according to the crosstalk at the counter are highly recommended and a very popular choice. Lunch is heavy on meat based sandwich choices like burgers. The country fried steak stuff was good but falls just short of being great. The biscuits were a weak spot, but drown 'em in sausage gravy and it's all good. Pricing is on the mid to high range. While it's possible with the specials or ordering a la carte to get thy tab down to just over ten bucks, it's far more likely that you'll be in the 15 to 20 dollar range per plate. So the four stars is for the old school effect, great service and waffle potential. i wouldn't make a trip here just for the food unless I was feeling nostalgic for the decadent carb heavy dining of yore as a treat. The food here was good. We arrived around late morning on a Sunday, so we expected the breakfast rush and didn't mind waiting for our table. However, it took a very long time to receive our order after ordering. Luckily weren't in a rush. Our server was friendly and refilled our drinks often. Excellent! We were looking for Breakfast today, So as usual I turned to Yelp. Yelp never fails me! Neal's diner came up and it sounded like just the place we needed to go to. Drove over to Milpita's using my Waze application. Pulled into the shopping mall but we had a hard time finding the restaurant. This sign for Mil's diner was small, RESTAURANT was big so it took a second pass to find them. As we entered, it looked like a comfortable, familiar place, somewhere that I'd been to when I was young. We were seated and they brought a booster seat for my little granddaughter. As the young man handed it to me he said he had wiped it down, thank you! The menu offers entrees and breakfast items, and even a children's menu. For $2 more, adults can order the children's menu items I checked out the yelp reviews and chose the salmon Benedict. My husband had a waffle, omelet with hash browns and my granddaughter had the scrambled eggs and bacon. Waaay too much food. Coffee was good and breakfast food was very traditional, good. Our server Laura was very pleasant and checked back a couple of times refilling my coffee. Before we left, the gentleman who was sitting at the counter too his place behind the cash register. I has been asked if he was the owner to which Laura replied yes, but his name is not Milton or Mil. His name is Louie. Mil's diner is named after Milpitas. Was looking for a place to Brunch at on a Saturday morning and found this treasure on Yelp! It was rather difficult to see the sign saying Mil's Diner and we had passed it a couple of times. Mil's is written really small, but it's got a nice corner location in the plaza. The line was not too bad and one of the owner's who was at the cash register was really friendly and talked to us while we were waiting. We didn't wait long before we were seated and after having some time to scope out other people's meals we settled on corned beef hash and chicken and waffles. And the food came pretty fast! My boyfriend said he's had better corned beef hash, but it was pretty decent here. My chicken and waffles on the other hand was quite tasty! The portions are good sized and we were stuffed when we left! Service was great, prices were decent and food was pretty good! Open for takeout during shelter in place. Called in my order and picked up in the restaurant. Wow, this place is really popular. Picked up food at around 11AM on a Saturday and all their outdoor tables were full. Standard American breakfast fare here and the food we tried was really good. I got a custom omelette which was very dense / satisfyingly substantial. There was plenty of the fillings I requested and covered with the cheese I asked for. I take away one star for the service because we waited a really long time for pancakes which was interesting. I had the fried chicken and waffle with honey and it was delicious. Plenty of food to take home or even share with another person. We came during the pandemic and were seated after we watched one of the bussers sanitize the table which was nice. Every time I visit family in Fremont 2-3 times a year, I motor on down to Milpitas for breakfast at Mil's. Haven't had a bad meal there yet! Talking to owner Roula Perivoliotis, I learned they're likely retiring at the end of the year. Owner/chef Louie Perivoliotis is getting a bit tired. My most recent breakfast there was on June 17. Their country fried steak was perfect, tender and moist on the inside, crispy and crusty on the outside. And the gravy, oh my gosh! Plus, they serve their scrambled eggs just the way I make mine at home -- soft and moist. I wonder if their grown children will take over. Most of the dishes I saw were on avg 8-12 bux dependin what you get ,but the portions are huge! Food: Mimosa- For 5 bux you get you pretty damn big glass. I was pretty buzzed by the end of my meal. Its about twice the size of the amount you get at whispers cafe. Country Fried Steak- Came out to bout 11 with tax. You get a huge steak fried n crisped to perfection drenched in their white gravy. FRIGGIN BOMB. It comes with hash browns also perfectly crisp. It also came with 3 eggs however you want em. Pizza Omelette- Probably one of the weirder items on the menu. I only got this cause i was slightly craving mozzarella sauce and plus ive never seen a pizza omelette on the menu. I really enjoyed it though it was quite simple. It definitely did taste like pizza or an egg pizza...Now, most places the omelettes are really packed in and kinda dry. Over here the omelette came out very fluffy like a huge omelette lasagna! Very friendly staff. Sit where you like, small and cozy. I have not found any good Mexican food in SJ. But the chorizo and eggs where delicious and the flour tortillas tasted very good. We also ordered the chicken and waffles and finished it all. The chicken was good and crispy with honey. Came here to grab brunch with a friend and wasn't overly hungry so settled on ordering of their a la carte menu - got a couple of over easy eggs, some breakfast sausage, and a side of biscuits and gravy. They were good as well, I would advise if you happen to order biscuits with gravy, that you ask them not to cut it in half (open face) because it becomes it a lot more gravy than biscuit. Had a hard time finding this place. The signage that said "Mil's Diner" was too small and blended into the while paint, while the word "restaurant" was huge. Wasn't too busy during lunch time at 1pm.
