Newest bubble tea place in Charlotte! I think this place is one my newest to-go spots in Charlotte out of all the places I've been. Unfortunately, due to COVID, there's not really seating going on. It is a locally owned business and they created all of the drink recipes in house. The mango and strawberry purée were both made fresh and fresh fruit was used in each drink. Probably the most refreshing boba tea iv ever taste/had. It had grapefruit chunks. Slushie enough to drink but will not clunk up after slurping it for a while, so it had the perfect consistency. Was invited to check this place out and I had a great experience. The space is open and bright. They have a lot of "instagrammable" photo opps if that is your thing. I got the strawberry fruit tea with strawberry heart jellies. The tea was a good size and it was super fresh tasting. I love jellies they make it super fun to eat and just added another level of strawberry to the drink. This is designed as more of a grab and go place. They have a few random chairs placed to sit in quickly while waiting on your drink but no real tables and seating inside to hangout or anything. This is in a shopping esque area though where you can walk around or grab a bench though. I would definitely check them out. read more

A pretty solid bubble tea place. Not the most extensive menu but has some unique options like the yakult (Asian yogurt drink) section. I grew up drinking yakult so I was super happy with this option. Mango yakult tasted more like a mango smoothie. I couldn't taste the yakult as much. Boba was a good chewy consistency but sweeter than what I was used to. The chocolate milk tea was pretty much a chocolate milk. I couldn't taste the milkie popping boba because the chocolate was too strong. Custard was ok. A little too sweet. I always order 25% sugar with no ice. This place did the 25% sweetness right. I'm willing to try this place again. read more

Milk Cha Cha is hands down the best boba tea I've ever had and I've had bubble teas from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Canada, and Korea. I live in the Raleigh Triangle area, and saw this store while driving around and I'm SO glad I stopped by. After my first visit, I had to go 3 more times to try their other drinks and now, every time I go to Charlotte, I will come here first. They use organic tea and the freshness of the fruit they use is clear from the first sip. You can actually see them preparing the fruit and it's not the powder stuff a lot of other tea shops will use in their drinks that are just full of sugar. They have a lot of different drinks to choose from and every one that I've tried is fantastic! My favorite is their fresh strawberry tea. Not only is it delicious, but the pattern of the drink when it's mixed and in the cup is quite exquisite. Not only that, their shop is very cute and Instagram friendly. They have lots of nifty signs and decorations that you don't find in other typical chain restaurants. This place is locally owned so they really focus on the minor details and customer service. I really hope they open one in Raleigh so I can go regularly and try all their drinks! This place is a must visit whenever you go to Charlotte! I drove up to Milk Cha Cha as part of a yelp elite promotion. I'm a huge fan of these kind of shops so I was very much looking forward to giving them a try. All I can say is it was TOTALLY worth the drive from Monroe (about 45 mins). The location is inside a new urban development that includes businesses and apartments. It's not easily seen from the main road, but not hard to find once you get in to the area. Upon entering the store I noticed that it was very clean. They have several tables and they offer games like Uno for people that come to have a beverage and hang out. They have an extensive menu of beverages that might seem overwhelming to a newbie, but their employees are very helpful in helping you figure out what you would like to order. I started with something I was familiar with, which is taro milk but rather than getting the tea, it was suggested that I try the slushy with boba. Considering it was 95° outside, this was a good call! They created my drink quickly and I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful it was. I took my first sip and thought I was going to die of pleasure. It was one of the tastiest things I've had in a long time. I know I will be returning to try more items (that is if I can talk myself out of ordering the slushy over and over again). Milk Cha-Cha uses premium tea to brew which allows for their tea to not be overly herbal. Their drinks are also not bogged down in refined sugars and it has a natural sweetness to it. I have never waited longer than 10 minutes max, even with a large group in front of me, for a drink. If you are placing a large order, you can always call ahead to place it. Their facilities are always clean and sanitized especially during COVID. And the best part, the whole shop is aesthetically pleasing and not overdone with tacky decorations. The staff themselves are always friendly and accommodating with suggesting drinks/customizing it for you. Louis, the owner, is one of the most friendliest and hardworking owners I've seen at a bubble tea shop in Charlotte. The best drink for someone new to bubble tea is Hong Kong Milk Tea. They have topping you can choose from to go in your drink. I picked mango star jellies to go with my mango drink. There were plenty jellies in the drink. Every sip I took I got jelly's as well. The drink was good it was nice and refreshing on a hot day. At the location they had tables where you wait and drink your beverage. On the tables they had some games the customers can play such as jenga, uno and some other games. This place also had parking which is great. My main problem was for new customers we were met with some apathy, and tension. We came in excited and bubbly with good energy. I can be awkward at times but I was asking questions about their products because I was new. The cashier didn't really seem to care and was responding kind of weird. I didn't pay mind to it because I thought it was normal. I said out loud that the prices seemed outrageous for such a small cup. It was not directed to the cashier because I know she doesn't set the prices but she might have taken that weird. The drinks came out really fast and the person making the drinks was nice. However there was a worker that kept looking at us and would not stop, she had come from the back. We all drank our boba and found all of our drinks tasted off. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with lychee and a milk foam. I've ordered a drink like this at another boba place so I thought I could not go wrong. (16. Oz) My sister ordered the brown sugar boba (16 oz.) My friend ordered the mango slushee and my other friend got the strawberry slushee. All of our drinks ended up making us nauseous. My sister and my friend now have a slight headache. The milk kind of tasted off. Some of the drinks were extremely sweet when we ordered regular sweetness.
