Fresh mango tea with passion fruit jelly
Vanessa N.

One of the things that makes this boba shop different from the others is that the fruit teas are blended drinks. I got the fresh mango tea with passion fruit jelly (0% sugar). While I did like my drink, I think I prefer the traditional non blended versions of fruit teas with fresh fruit chunks.

Fresh fruit teas is hard to come by and so when Milk Cha-Cha popped up on the list of places to try in Charlotte and so we went as a date. Note that when it's fresh fruit, it's not quite what you think. I thought it was going to be fresh fruit in the tea, but it was more like a slushy? I do like the fact that the fruit was fresh, but I wished it was more of just tea and then fruit instead of it mixed in. Service was great as we were explained what type of tea, but I guess the only thing that wasn't mentioned was that it was blended rather than just tea itself. I enjoyed the interior decor. It was simple. If you're looking for parking, you can park on the street or the parking garage. There's spaces for retail parking, but it is used for those who live there. There were plenty of spaces when I went.

Discover the story of Milk Cha-Cha, where two 'boba-addict' friends turned their passion into a delightful reality. Founded in 2020, they embarked on a journey to bring the freshest and most creative boba experience to their customers. From fresh fruits to premium loose leaf teas, freshness and flavor are their hallmarks. What's more, Milk Cha-Cha is all-inclusive! Customers can enjoy their drinks with dairy alternatives, and they take pride in using powder-based flavors (not artificial syrup) for an extra burst of deliciousness! I thought their Fresh Strawberry Tea was absolutely delicious and perfect for the summer heat! Truly refreshing indeed. EXCITING NEWS: Milk Cha-Cha opened a brand new location in South End! Great location. Cozy and quaint. Cute little sitting area outside. Inside was cute and great for pictures. The service was good. The lady was nice and gave recommendations on favorites. I tried the Mango tea with plain Boba. It was just ok. The Mango was bland and tasted like pureed baby food. They blend the Mango to a puree and you don't taste any chunks or peices of Mango at all. I would go back, but I'd definitely try a different option since there are so many to choose from.

Grand opening today and (I think) I was the first customer :-) nice to have this south end location since it's much closer to me vs. the other two stores in Charlotte. Also a great addition to the south end restaurant portfolio. It's not a big store, more on the "grab and go" side. Menu is consistent with other locations as well, and I ordered my all time favorite - Darjeeling milk tea, no ice no sugar - hope it's as healthy as I thought so. Tasty as usual. Definitely a good choice to stop by with friends to get something sweet while touring around the area.

Mango Yakult and BTS cup sleeve

Came for the BTS cup sleeve collab! Milk Cha Cha is one of my favorite boba spots in Charlotte. I love their yakult options, which is the perfect balance of sweet and sour. I saw that the south end location was doing a collab one weekend and had to snag a sleeve for my friend who is army. So cool that they do collab for cup sleeves. I never thought this would happen in NC, since I came from ATL and CA. So happy it is . I also really love this location because it's so walkable, so if you want to take your boba to go, you can walk along the rail trail OR if you're looking for a park there is one that is a 10min walk away, Latta Park. Great for kiddos! Staff are always nice and helpful, they even asked if I wanted to help them pick out the kpop playlist for the day. So nice! Also lots of cute merch you can pick up for yourself or a loved one. My older cousin picked up a couple things for her kids while she was there. Definitely recommend a stop through!

Went for the brown sugar boba milk tea. It was OK.

Super friendly and fast service with a quaint shop and fantastic location. The menu has some interesting choices, but we went with the classic brown sugar, Boba milk tea. To be honest, I didn't love the drink. It was extremely syrupy and not mixed well. I found myself moving the straw up and down inside the cup, and in attempt to mix the ingredients together and make it palatable. I would try it again due to the cleanliness, friendliness, and service.

The boba drink from this location

I came here with my friends and we order drink and it had more water and honestly its flavor didn't match the price at all fr

Friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere, delicious drinks

I had recently tried this drink at another Haraz location and loved it so much that I officially considered myself a matcha drinker. When I received my drink, I noticed it looked much pinker than it had at the other locations I'd visited. I assumed it had just been mixed and that the usual layers of matcha, strawberry, and whipped cloud had blended together, so I didn't think much of it. However, after taking my first sip in the car, it immediately tasted like strawberry milk. Since I was on my way to work, I kept drinking it, expecting the matcha flavor to come through, but it never did. It was disappointing because the drink was nothing like the one I've had several times at other Haraz locations. I hope this location places an emphasis on training and consistency so the drinks meet the same standard as the rest of the Haraz locations. On a positive note, the staff members were kind, welcoming, and greeted me as soon as I walked in.

The barista seemed to understand my order before I said it, which was comforting and mildly unsettling. The area was clean and the cute interior makes for a good social media photo op. The menu has good variety and explorative flavors that encourages repeat visits. I got a Mango Milk Tea and was not disappointed. It gave a Mango Lassi vibe and was very refreshing. My only downside was the bottom of the drink tasted gritty and had a white residue left at the bottom. Also, I initially wanted the drink with light ice and this was my first encounter at a shop that charges extra for light ice (45 cents). Not a huge deal and I understand that companies incur more costs for light ice or no ice. Maybe I could justify the additional charge for getting the drink without ice, but I still wanted ice---just not a lot of it. I just would've like to have been told about it or seen some signage about the additional charge since the toppings and other add ons are listed out. I could've missed where it was listed out, but I don't think I saw anything written out. Nonetheless, after a few healthy gulps, I was sad that the drink was gone. I would come back to try other items.

The proceeds go to local and global missions of the church. Win, win all the way around. The place itself is very spacious. Two levels. The seating areas are comfortable and far enough apart you can have some semiprivacy if you need it. My friend who brought me says she comes here all the time to study (she's in college). All of the staff knew her by name. (love places like that) I'm not a coffee drinker so I can't really speak to the coffee (although my friend says it's pretty good). The atmosphere was nice, it has the "work on your laptop or catch up with friends" cafe vibe. Somewhere you can hang for several hours and sip and coffee as you work/talk. I don't think I was the target demographic for this cafe sadly. I ordered a BE&C on a bagel. I originally had planned to go to a more "bagel-focused" shop, but they were closed. That's where I feel I was not the target demographic; I was looking to just order a bagel on my morning commute. I should have noticed the atmosphere/vibe of the cafe and realized that this was not going to be fast. It ended up taking over 30 minutes from the time I paid to the time I got my food (genuinely, I looked at the time my credit card was swiped and compared it to the time it was when I got my food). Now, I will say, if I had ordered coffee and brought a book, the wait probably wouldn't have been too much of a bother. The staff was really friendly, and the bathrooms were also very clean! The bagel was not my favorite bagel, but it was on par for a non-bagel-focused coffee shop. It wasn't bad by any means, but I would not order it if you were wanting "real" bagel. Edit: owner made a good point regarding the wait and was correct that I did not notice the disclaimer regarding the wait! I updated the rating to reflect my newer perspective.
