After all these years and I have yet to post a review. A staple in Wailuku that offers your typical local kine grinds from a husband and wife duo. I do enjoy their hamburger mix but love it best in a burger with fries rather than a plate lunch because personally I can honestly say I'm a brown gravy snob. Their mac salad isn't my fave but nothing some tabasco can't fix. They currently don't use the old school crinkle fries but the thicker steak fry style is just as ono. Don't forget your mayo mustard and ketchup! Small casual spot where you can dine in or take out. They're pretty good about answering the phone if you call in your order with a quick turnaround time and note there is a minimum $15 to pay with card.

Hamburger steak and pork chop combo.

Nice small family restaurant with a few seats to dine-in. We decided to do take-out option. Ordered a combo of the hamburger steak and chicken katsu cutlet, along with the hamburger steak and pork chop combo. The wife took our order and was super friendly/ welcoming. Food took about 20 minutes. As we left with our take out, the owners thanked us for ordering, which really made us appreciate this small gesture and business. Everything was delicious and we cleaned our plates. Gravy was well seasoned and hamburger patties were cooked perfectly (not under or overcooked). The amount given was perfect for the price. I can see why people enjoy their food. My only criticism would be the mac salad needed a little more mayonnaise (just my preference), but other than that we really enjoyed the food and service. We will be going back again for sure!

Service was great. Ambiance was very casual there is dine in option but it is a little tight in there if you do they also had nice Christian music playing. Food on the other hand had things I liked and some I didn't like. Ordered the BBQ Chicken and Kalbi plate came with 2 scoops of rice 1 scoop of Mac salad 3 pieces of bbq chicken and 1 strip of kalbi for $20.85 little on the expensive side the Mac salad had a lot of pepper so it didn't taste so good for me the Kalbi was good the bbq chicken was a little over cooked also ordered the cheeseburger deluxe which as $8.85 but we'll worth the price it was delicious ordered fries too and they were super soggy with no salt.

Always available to do a take out order and food comes out in a nice timely manner. Staff is friendly.

Updated menu and prices (January 2023). Hamburger steak and chow fun are still our favorites. Tried the mandoo and it was really good! Large and home made. A bit pricey but worth it!

Food was great. Great flavor and texture of the hamburger and chicken cutlet and pork chops and gravy was spot on. They close 7:30pm. Simple yet very ono! We'd definitely eat here again!

Meat Jun & Mandoo Combo

The Millyard Hamburger Steak House is another place I hadn't been to in over a decade, probably close to 15-20 years. When I worked in the area when I first graduated from college, I used to eat here now and then. We decided to try it out since it had been such a long time. We ordered take out and I got the meat jun/mandoo combo. The meat jun was good, with soft and tender meat, although I think I prefer Pearl's version. The mandoo was also tasty, deep fried so it was crunchy. My wife got the hamburger steak and she enjoyed it, nice and tender, and slightly charred, which gave it a good flavor. The gravy was light, with a thin consistency. Like other, we both thought the mac salad was too peppery. My parents also got the Kalbi & BBQ Chicken combo and they liked it. We'd go back again to try other things on the menu.

1 Teri beef and half of a bbq chicken with 2 huge scoops rice and half a scoop mac. Very disappointed

So disappointed in this place. I haven't been here for over 20 years and won't be coming back. First of all it was barely 6pm on a Friday and they ran out of a lot of things on the menu.I ordered the hamburger steak pork chop combo and wasn't pleased. The Hamburger was still raw on the inside and pork chop was fried to a crisp and dry. My husband and had a hamburger steak and chicken cutlet and wasn't happy either. Now my sons plate Teri beef and bbq chicken. Half a bbq chicken and 1 dried out teri beef with 2 big scoops rice and small scoop mac. The quality and taste for the price is not worth us returning.

Millyard Hamburger Steak House! Hamburger Steak.....that's whats for lunch!

How can you not love a place like this? Is it local? Yes! Do they serve local kine grindz? - Yes! Is the service friendly? -Yes! Very friendly! Was da grindages good? - Ummmmmmmm YES! So while I was working on Maui today, I was doing a job in Wailuku and upon finishing up my work, it was time to forge for some grindz! Having just a coffee & a banana was just not doing it for me today, and I was real haaaaaangry! While driving around, I came upon a place called - "Millyard Hamburger Steak House", Hamburger steak sounded real goooooooooood right now cuz I was crazy haaaaaaaangry! Upon walking into this little restaurant, I see just 4 small tables here, and a wall menu. I walk up to the register and was greeted by the friendly owner. From there, I placed my order for a hamburger steak plate ($9.75). For you non-Kamaaina's (people not from Hawaii), what is a hamburger steak plate? Basically, is just hamburger with brown gravy, two scoops rice, & mac salad. What can I say about the grub? Food was a bit pricy for a hamburger steak plate, but I must say the food came out fast, & the hamburger steak plate was delicious! I got two very large hamburger patties, and the brown gravy was done perfectly as it was not too salty. The mac salad was not over powered by mayonnaise, and surprisingly, I actually ate all of my mac salad today! For you folks that know me..........you know me & my mayonnaise (I hate it), but because the brown gravy was done so well.......a little brown gravy with the mac salad is just winnah's! Service was excellent! (As the owner was very friendly.) The entertainment factor more than made up for the price of the plate lunch! Lol! If you're ever in the Wailuku area, check them out! They are located just next door to the Wei Wei Bar-B-Q & Noodle House.

Best way to find a local gem! No one greeted us as we arrived at 2pm, offered menus, anything. We sat ourselves, ordered beers at the bar. Great beer selection. Found out after looking online that they had food and happy hour from 3-5pm. No problem, just don't expect a tip. Menu changes regularly based on old photos. We tried the roasted eggplant for $15, and waited until HH to get $2 off the smashburger. While the latter was quite good, the eggplant dish was standout unique and tasty. The sauce in which it was served harkened to African spicy peanut marinade, excellent match with the perfectly roasted eggplant. Wonderful salubrious surprise that will be recreated at home. I asked a fellow clearing plates the inspiration for this dish, he said he'd ask the chef but never got back to us. With all of 3 tables to concern himself with... Great food, nice chill vibe, distant DIY service. Worth a return visit.

Everything is a la carte so if you want fries, just know they do not come with the burger. Everything was delicious. The Smash Burger was perfectly cooked, seasoned wonderfully, and so juicy! The burger also had some spice to it! It had some pickled jalapenos on it and they added the perfect heat. I loved it. The garlic fries were perfectly fried and crispy and had a great garlic flavor and kick. I will definitely come back here on my next visit to island.

Cupies always holds a special place in my heart. I've been coming here since I was little. Whenever my dad and my sister and I were in town growing up in the 90's, it was either stopping here at Cupies or the Dairy Queen nearby (which has since closed) for a yummy treat! They used to have a couple Arcade Games (with Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat) and had every childhood favorite: the tower of coin operated prizes! Of course the FOOD was what got us coming back for more! I'd always get a Bento with hot dog, spam, chicken and rice OR the BEST hamburger and crinkle fries with Mustard/Ketchup container! The hamburger and fries combo is still my usual go to. Today I went for the special drink, a refreshing Calamansi Slushie. Calamansi is a little Filipino lime. Perfect balance of tart and sweet for this hot Maui day. I decided to get the Mini Hamburger Steak today. Plate lunches come with the option of Macaroni Salad or Corn for the side so I opted for the buttery Corn. I added Sautéed Onion and Mushroom to the Hamburger Steak and it was "broke da mouth" Ono! The Mini Plate comes with 2 hamburger patties so guessing a Regular Plate is 3-4 patties. Make sure you treat yourself to a delicious Sweet Crepe! My favorite is the Banana and we always add Nutella. If you're not feeling a Crepe, you need to get a delicious Shake! The flavors are endless: Ube, Pandan, Fruity Pebbles, or Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Dine in outside or call in an order and park on the far side wall and someone will bring out your order. I'll usually call in to hear their Specials of the Day.

We've been coming here for years and I've always enjoyed my experiences here, but last night I had a dish that compelled me to write a review. The oxtail soup which is listed as a favorite is a dish I've been eyeing for a while, but it's usually been too warm for me to crave it. But last night was the night. I'm getting over a cold and it's been raining off and on for weeks. The bowl arrived at the table with a plate underneath - smart move because it takes some work to eat oxtail soup. Armed with my fork and spoon, I went at it. The first taste floored me. It was perfectly seasoned and I could taste the fresh ginger, the broth was a beautiful brown color, there was plenty of napa cabbage and it came with a dish of a scoop of glossy steamed rice and steamed carrots, zucchini and broccoli. Our waitress offered to bring over condiments so I went for the soy sauce - sprinkled on the rice and veggies, I noticed that the veggies might have had a little sesame oil flavor on them so that made me happy. A spoonful of rice dunked into the broth with some of the tender fall of the bone oxtail meat, and a little crunch of the napa cabbage and I was in absolute heaven. I tasted my husband's pork adobo and that was equally as delicious as always. But that soup - that's what really did it for me last night and stays with me today. I walked out of Tante's with a swollen and happy belly and a fresh, tiny piece of ginger stuck between my teeth...a treat for later.
