So i used to go to milos on foothills two to three times a week. I drove out of my way to the rocklin location because the other closed. Well i was in a bit of a hurry took a couple bites of my traditional philly and realized there was No cheese. Whats a philly without cheese. I took it back and he took my hole meal back and brought back the original box with two cold slices of cheese. Its NOT the same as when it melts into the delicious bread and binds together the onion and peppers and steak picking up those flavors as it melts. Now i just had cold steak, cold hard cheese, cold onion and pepper all in pieces falling all over. Sooo disappointing because it can be so good. Make a new sandwich please when you leave out a main ingredient that makes the sandwich. read more

I so wanted to love this place. Portions were generous, it just wasn't 'right'. The pita/flatbread was hard, so I just picked through my lamb/beef gyro. The gyro meat was ok, but very thick sliced and not exactly warm all the way through. Very hot in there too, definitely need A/C running in this heat. I'll skip this place next time and hit the one at the mall, it's much better. I had heard such great things about Milo's that I had to stop in to give them a try on my way home yesterday. It totally lived up to the hype. The food was excellent, and the service stellar. I only tried the humble gyro and fries combo for $5.99, and left very satisfied. The meat on the gyro was probably the best I have ever sampled of that variety, and the pita was stuffed with yogurt sauce, onions, and tomatoes. Everything was perfect. I cannot wait to take my husband with me next time so we can try the cheese steak sandwiches or a pizza. It's Saturday night and we decided to go out and get some food. Thought of Greek and had been to this restaurant one other time. The spicy gyro is delicious. My husband was really impressed. Stopped in on my way to Tahoe as I was craving a salad and a yummy Greek salad seemed like the perfect choice. What arrived at my table was the poorest excuse for a Greek salad. It was more like a garden salad with feta and olives added to it. Instead of the usual oil and vinegar dressing they put Italian dressing, which does not pair well with olives nor feta. The feta was blah, olives were mushy and old tasting. There was very little cucumbers or tomatoes and no red onion or bell peppers. It also came with 4 tiny slivers of pita which was not warm nor fresh tasting and a small side of tzatziki which was decent. I paid $10 for salad along with a fountain drink Needless to say I will not be returning and would warn others not to be fooled into thinking this is even close to authentic Greek food. Just got home from Milo's - what a great place! Let's start with the food, very tasty, I had the spicy Philly, good flavor, the meat was properly prepared, the right mix of onions - meat - Jalenpenos - BUT MOST OF ALL the rolls are made on site. Instead of using some store bought hoagie roll that's way too thick and chewy their rolls are light, great texture, almost tender and have the proper amount of bread to fillings. I'm very impressed and will be back. Next the prices, $5.99 seems to be the magic price for a Gyro or Philly with fries. When I say the magic price what I mean is any Philly or Gyro on the menu is $5.99. A hamburger is $4.99 with cheese $5.49 and all include some fries . Salads are $5.00 WHAT A BARGAIN!! I wish I could leave 0 stars. The man at the cashier stand was very mean and literally made me cry. I was explaining to him I had my wisdom teeth removed a few days ago and this was going to be my first real meal in 5 days. I was excited that I could finally try to eat something other than a shake or apple sauce. I asked him if I could order the pizza off the kids menu since it seemed the easiest thing to eat since gyros are too hard for me with the meat. And he said no because I wasn't a child so I asked if there was an adult version. Still refused to serve me. I sat down upset and starved while my boyfriend waited for his food. I told my boyfriend he wouldn't let me order anything off the kids menu and I started to tear up since I was so frustrated about the whole situation. My boyfriend went up to the man and asked if I could get a grilled cheese and the man said no and tried to refund my boyfriend for his gyro before he got it. This man tried to make us leave because I asked for a kids menu item.. he was a jerk. So my boyfriend offered to pay double the price just so I could eat and the man allowed it. It's just so sad that this guy had to put us both through an awful experience over an extra $5. I got the chance to visit this Milo's while in the area for a business conference. As a regular at the Foothills store I was hopeful that there would be consistency with both the menu and the flavors. I went with one of my regular sandwiches - Steak Da' Works - and am pleased that it was just a fantastic as their other restaurant. The Milo's restaurants are definitely the kind of place you'll want to check out for good, reasonably priced, fast food that is locally owned. The kitchen guys here bust their ass! Whoa. Good customer service and lots of options from pizza to burgers/chicken sandwiches, salad, gyros and cheesesteaks. I will say there were a bunch of grumpy jerks as far as customers were concerned the day that I went, one girl in particular I really would love to have smacked in her snooty mouth (glad my mom raised me better than to act on that type of impulse). Still-crabby pants didn't ruin my experience, though I couldn't help feeling bad for the person she was sitting with. Milo's has good food and is basically run like a burger joint. Busy at noon on a Tuesday is good, especially considering the place is located off a little side street. I think they must be doing something right. I went here to have one of the cheesesteaks on the recommendation of a friend and I was not disappointed! Definitely one of the best I've had in the area. The bread that they use for the cheesesteaks is delicious and baked fresh daily. My friend had one of the Gyro's and loved it. The food was served hot, fresh and quickly. Not overly expensive at all. A few fours lately for this hidden location of an emerging chain of quality restaurants; but I'm going for the full five! My girlfriend and I both had renditions of their cheesesteak, and both were 10's. The last reviewer noted the bread- and it IS top top notch, but I differ in that I thought ALL of the ingredients were tremendous! Fries were really good, too. Add to that the modest mid-line price, and you have a winner! The owner ( I am assuming a little bit), was really nice and gave us free cookies (which were not our favorite). It says something, too, that Milo's in Rocklin has woke me from my yelp slumber, as this is the first I've reviewed in a long while. They serve all their sandwiches with fries on the side. Their gyros (which my wife and one of my daughters had) were also very good -- served in the traditional manner wrapped in a pita with tomatoes, onions, and all the standard fixins. There's a tv in one corner, if anyone's interested in that...the station was set of CNN at the time. *shrug* The interior kinda reminds me of a repurposed chipote's restaurant...but I don't recall there being a chipotle's in this particular location before...whatever. You order at the counter, get handed a number, then they bring the food out to you. My Hubby & I stopped in to grab a bite to eat here about 2.5 months ago. We were getting our car serviced at a neighboring car dealership. We walked in about 3pm & it was pretty empty which is to be expected because we were dining at that awkward hour between lunch & dinner. I ordered 2 gyros the gentleman at the register said it would be filling for my Husband & I when he brought out the plates I was impressed with the portion size. The food was HOT & very flavorful. Their food is consistent, and the fresh seasoned fries are amazing (I learned they only supply crinkle-cut when the restaurant supplier has run out of stock of the usual fries, so do be aware that's the not the usual!) All the sandwiches are filling, well-portioned, and delectable; the bread is made and baked by the owner each morning; and the prices are incredibly reasonable (few other places offer sandwiches, fries, and a soda for less than $10!). I've always found that the family that owns this place is incredibly warm, sweet, customer-focused and friendly. In fact, a group of couples came in once with unruly kids who made a mess of the table and floor. They all left without cleaning up after themselves and the owner didn't confront them, but rather cleaned up himself without bitterness or complaint! This is the kind of food that when you eat it, you think, "boy am I going to regret this later." And you know what? You're right. I had the falafel and it was weird at best. The tomatoes were soaked in some kind of balsamic vinaigrette, so much so that they had completely discolored. The falafel itself was black, oily and crumbly, with little taste. There was a little lettuce and hummus smeared on there. The pita wrap bread was good, but overall it was a poor and inauthentic excuse for a falafel. I noticed mixed reviews and since Ichiban was closed after 2:30 and I was nearby, decided to walk over to Milos for a bite. It was funny reading other reviews about the service after I ordered and was waiting for my food. The older gentleman working, (assuming the owner) does resemble a popular Seinfeld character, but just a little. I imagine with the extra stress all businesses are under due to the ever changing governors mandates, the owner here has a lot more to deal with than ringing the cash register. Despite any social shortcoming I was super impressed with my Lamb/Beef Gyros. In fact, its probably one of the best I've ever had at twice the price. I love this place. It's a tiny bit diveish. The vegetarian dishes could use a little work. The pizza here is a hidden gem. Possibly my favorite pizza in Rocklin. The French dip is served spicy and good, lots of jalapeño. Same goes for Philly sandwiches. The bread here is good (pizza crust even better). The Greek salad is not impressive. I'm not usually in Rocklin, but my dentist is there. Then I had to go to the DMV, so I figured I'd go to the one in Rocklin. As I was leaving, I decided to check with Yelp and get the nearest non-fast food that could be served quickly to-go. I sorted by rating and up popped Milo's. I like Greek food, so I started seeing what most people were talking about. I saw the Greek Philly pop up quite a bit, along with a note about fresh baked bread that could be eaten all by itself. WOW! That's my one-word review of the Greek Philly sandwich. Big chunks of gyro meat presented Philly cheeseteak style with the melted cheese. And the bread was so good!
