3 stars feels a little harsh but tbh there was nothing special about the dish I got. It feels like these type of non-chain fast casual types of places are few and far in between so I would give this spot another chance and get something else. Perfect for a quick dinner when you don't want the hullabaloo of a waiter or reservation.

3.5 stars rounded up. This is a cute and casual spot with lots of small tables and a few booths. I've been twice, and it was comfortably quiet during dinner, much busier during lunch, but I was still able to snag a seat right away. The Yunnan brisket bowl was delicious. The meat was nice and tender, albeit with some fatty bits, and the sauce was really flavorful with a good kick. The marinated cucumbers really elevated the dish. As for sides, the duck bun was yummy but not particularly memorable. I stupidly ordered the salted egg yolk fries even though I'm not a fry fan... I was too tempted by the salted egg yolk part. They were fine, but the salt and greasiness combined with the creamy scallion mayo made this overwhelmingly heavy after a while. I had to get the egg tart soft serve, which was smooth and perfectly sweet. I liked the crunch from the caramelized puff pastry. It also made me realize that egg tarts kinda just taste like eggier vanilla, which melted my brain.

I had the Mandarin duck bowl twice at this location. The duck was deliciously fried. However, this rice bowl had only four pieces of meat. For a $20 rice, I expect at least six pieces of meat. Minus one star for the small portion for the high price. The shop looks clean. The cashier was polite. The bathroom is clean.

I only came for their soft serve and it's fabulous! The place is really busy and has seating options.

My coworker gets lunch here like twice a week and it looked rlly good so I finally decided to go. Actually pretty good but priceyyyy for lunch Got the Yunnan Brisket Bowl which came with rice, salad, and marinated cucumbers. Brisket was HEATTTT that was so freaking good and also crispy which I didn't expect but really appreciated. Y'all the sauce on this brisket is so beautiful its a little sweet very garlicky, had a bit of a citrus flavor with some light heat. Cucumbers were pretty good and salad was fine. It's friday idfc i got dessert ok so i got their vanilla pineapple bun which was scrumptious. Also a milk tea which tbh was kinda watery so that wasnt worth it. Couldve got another bun instead whatever... So ya overall i really enjoyed my meal

Got the cauliflower bowl and it was delicious! However, it was way too salty for my liking.

Came here on a weekend for lunch, and there were plenty of seats available. This is a fast-casual but also nice sit-in restaurant with lovely interior decor and a nice vibe. There was also Chinese pop playing in the background. The waiters were extremely friendly, and the bathroom was very clean. The waiter even offered chili crisp for the salmon dish and we had lots of choices from the dim sum weekend menu. We ordered the salmon bowl entree and dim sum items for the rest (lotus leaves with rice, wontons, shrimp toast, and turnip cake). The food was all fresh and tasty!

I love the black sesame soft serve with mochi! It's rich in toasty black sesame flavor and the right amount of nutty flavor! The miss for me was the Yunnan beef, it was wayyy too salty. I ordered it with the lucky Noodle salad and I barely finished it because I couldn't handle the sodium.

Milu is a fast casual place, you place an order at the front, sit down, and they'll bring the food to you. For dinner, I got the mandarin duck entree with the egg yolk french fries. For the entree, there's a decent amount of meat, rice, and greens so you're definitely getting a complete meal here. For desserts, I got their egg tart and matcha swirl soft serve. Both tasted really good! However the matcha is a seasonal flavor. I also got a pineapple bun. It was probably my least favorite out of the items I ordered, I was there was a lot more filling

Great customer service. Food was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Roomy place to grab a quick bite or work from with a lemonade.

Modern twist on Chinese dishes, got the seasonal fries (egg yolk) with a radish sauce. So good!

Food was delicious, wasn't a big fan of the milk tea but might try it hot next time. Nice dining area with plenty of space to have a meal with friends. Friendly staff and clean.

Delicious fast casual asian restaurant in Kips bay! The bowls are well sized and priced and the food is delicious. Love the ambiance and design of the store as well. Not too busy and service is fast!

Got off the E train and when we looked for Chinese food, this place popped up with good reviews and it was just a short walk from where we got off the train. My buddies ordered the special lunches and we also got two types of xlb's, beef chow fun, and some fried dumplings. The special lunches come with a little fried rice, cold garlic flavored noodle, choice of egg drop or hot and sour soup, and main side. My buddies all enjoyed their meals. The beef chow fun was also really good and beef was nice and tender. The xiao long baos were excellent and is comparable to any place in California like DTF. Nice and juicy and great with some ginger, soy sauce, and spicy chili. Friendly service and food comes out pretty quickly. Credit card is accepted. Bathroom was also very clean, which is sometimes rare in some Chinese restaurants I have been to. If you're looking for a good Chinese meal, stop here when you're in the Chelsea area.

I'm a lower middle-class Jersey guy - what the heck do I know about cocktails?  But I dove right into one ("Jade Collins") and it was firing on all cylinders.  Crisp, clean, strong enough to knock over an ox. Then we got a handful of apps - everyone else swore by all the ones they'd had - but I just tried the Salt & Pepper Shrimp and... sweet baby Jesus, this little plate had a wicked amount of flavor from every angle.  "Aggressively seasoned" might be an understatement.  Wild. Onto the mains and I ventured towards their Spicy Drunken Noodle (my go-to whenever I'm hitting a Thai restaurant on my home turf) and... yeah, you probably guessed it - incredible. Not the biggest portion but they made every single component sing with flavor. With so much going on - of course I needed to indulge with another drink (hey, I wasn't driving!). There were six of us, it came to about $100 a person... welcome to NYC. But we did get a wide selection of plates/food and those two drinks accounted for about $40 of my tab. (And you'll never see such a heavy wine pour at a restaurant... they filled the glass almost to the rim - which was not even something I'd do for myself when I'm home.) Definitely recommended.

Yeah Id say that was a pretty splendid meal. Then the scallion pancakes which were crispy and airy paired with this very interesting sauce that was clear but tasted like sweet and sour sauce. For mains we got Kung Pao Chicken which was pretty delicious but my star of the show was the Crispy Beef. It was crispy asf and skinny too I didn't know you could make beef skinny like that. Sauce was super tasty and thick. On the side was broccoli which was fine and eggplant which was fine on its own and good with the chili sauce. Split the Fortune Cookie Red Velvet Cake which okay I thought there would be more creativity with adding fortune cookies somewhere in the cake but it was just a cake with fortune cookies on top. Also they put 2 when we had 4 people like lowkey they couldve just put 2 more on there but anyways the cake itself was pretty tasty so can't complain there.

The hand-pulled noodles *gasp* weren't hand pulled. "BBQ" chicken in the other noodles was very dry. Sea bass portion was very small. Scallion pancakes were good. Shrimp dumplings were the highlight.
