Westfield Fashion Square Sherman Oaks, CA The newest addition to the food court. It looks inviting, and the menu pictures are great too. You order at the register then they give you a tag, look for a place to sit and wait for the buzzer go off. My daughter and I decided to try this out for an early dinner. There was no line which is cool. They don't give cups for water. I ordered the Fried Rice Chicken Bowl. It looks so good on the picture menu but when it came - it wasn't near it. There was much less chicken in it. It filled me up though. And the taste is different from the usual fried rice that I tried. There fried rice and the meal is kind of elevated. My daughter ordered the Xia Long Bao and Sautéed String Beans. She liked them and wouldn't mind ordering them again. Food prices are the going rate at the food court. Food court wasn't busy so we were able to sit and enjoy our food.

New spot in the food court. Was drawn to the sign. Food was so/so. The bao was okay - just all the soup came out as you can tell. The string beans were not good. They seemed not fresh and the seasoning was off. All that plus a bottle of water as about $17

Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup (to go order)

Inside the Westfield Fashion Square mall food court is the newly opened Mimi Garden Express! We ordered the following: A1: Kurobuta Pork Soup Xiao Long Bao C5: Spicy Braised Beef Noodle Soup C6: Honey BBQ Pork Noodles D3: Sautéed string beans with garlic Everything was made fresh and delicious. Dumplings are also handmade! Our kids loved the dumplings (xiao long baos). We loved the spicy braised beef noodle soup and the sautéed string beans with garlic. Even though the beef noodle soup was marked spicy, only the string beans had a slight kick. The beef in the soup was hard to chew too and felt like it was overcooked. To order, the cashier will take your order, you pay and they hand you a buzzer. Once it vibrates and rings, you approach the cashier again and they will hand your order to you. Because we ordered to go, the food was nicely packaged in a reusable bag. We will be back!

Not impressed with the chicken dumplings

They just opened a couple months ago. Was really hoping the chicken dumplings would be good. Unfortunately I have to say that if they don't make them better I have a feeling they won't last in this mall. Very plain and almost had like a coffee taste. Not sure why? My 12 year old son wouldn't eat them. I ordered the b3 bbq beef with white rice. It was just ok.

Spoiler Alert! Boneyard Bistro is now the best place in Sherman Oaks to get pizza. You may think…read moreI'm crazy, but it's true. This longstanding BBQ stop on Ventura, with fantastic Q and a bunch of recently-added creative dishes like Brisket Dan Dan Noodles and Shawarma-Spiced Salmon, is also baking pizza at a level of quality and taste that most pizza places never achieve. I've been eyeing Boneyard's pizza for a while. When I first saw it on the menu I thought it was a gimmick. Then, I saw other people ordering various pies, and they all looked fantastic. So, last night I popped in by myself, sat the bar and ordered the House Made Spicy Fennel Sausage Pizza -- and let me tell you, this is NOT a gimmick of any kind. The crust is born of an expertly made dough that's clearly given time to rise and rest before being drafted for service. As such, the crust arrives crispy on the outside, airy and light inside, and sturdy enough to hold the other components. This is huge, because so many places taking pride in serving traditional Neopolitan Pizza deliver pies with charred crusts that turn to disintegrated soup in the center. Not here. With that solid base set, the layer of smoky tomato sauce makes its presence known but remains a foundation, supporting the very flavorful smoked mozzarella without adding too much acid or sweet. By the way, that smoked mozz gives off tons of flavor and also offers a very satisfying chew. The titular Spicy Fennel Sausage boasts a terrific, herbaceous flavor of its own, but isn't really all that spicy. There's a little heat to it, but it's perfectly balanced with everything else -- so if the word "spicy" normally scares you, you have no reason to be afraid. What you DO have is every reason in the world to eat this pizza. The 12" pie is hearty and filling. Plenty for 2 people to share, or for a single to take some home (as I did) -- but I wouldn't give you the side-eye if you ate it all by yourself, because YOLO. And since YOLO, I suggest you eschew the rest of the local pizza purveyors, order up a pie at Boneyard, and see what all my shouting's about. Guaranteed, from then on you'll also be shouting, "hey everyone, let's go get pizza at the barbecue place!

Music was pumping and place was clean, kind of busy, and I did make reservations online. Okay, now to the food... I so wanted to love their BBQ, but it just missed the target by a smidge. We got the following, three way tray, fried mac & cheese, potato salad, deviled eggs, KPOP sticky ribs, and smoked brisket Dan Dan noodles. I will say the star of the show has to be the KPOP sticky ribs but everything else was not memorable and as I type, nothing is sticking out and making me drool and go WOW, I need to have that dish again!! I will say they make a good Shirley Temple and they gave us a free dessert since we were celebrating our BDays and services is on point, 100% quality service. Unfortunately, they just fell short with their BBQ. I wish I had more pics but it was a hot minute since I seen my two friends so we were just talking and eating and catching up.

I've been hesitant because it is in a trickier area, but I had no issues pulling in or parking! They have a few spots in the front, but otherwise I'm sure there is parking around the neighborhood. You walk inside to order and it is not a fancy looking place, but the people cooking the meat definitely know what they're doing!! It felt like an authentic Texas bbq spot. I didn't want the frills, I just wanted good food and that's what I got. I sat at a little table outside which was perfectly pleasant! The road wasn't too loud or anything. But really, the sandwich was SO good. I doused it in the spicy bbq and added the pickles and coleslaw and I ate the WHOLE thing. I shouldn't have. But it was great!! I want to come back and try their other bbq meats and sides!! I loved the pulled pork sandwich and would recommend sharing it if you do order it. Yum!! The service was great, too!!

We hadn't visited since February, 2020. Before the pandemic might as well have been 10 years ago, if the world shut down 6 years ago. We were overdue for a followup visit. Judging by how the food went down, we were sore for it. We ordered the Big Tex: four meats and four sides - tri-tip, brisket, pulled pork and links; kale greens, bbq beans, mac and cheese and fries. We opted for the cornbread in the roll slot. It should be the top meats in your order, by premium scale and availability, but more often than they should be, the brisket/tri-tip selections are, 90%, obligatory orders. I think I have a love/hate relationship with the way LA treats the pepperoni pizza of bbq meats. Swinging Door broke us off proper though. Not too fatty. Great tenderism. And the accompanying sauce complemented the smoked all stars, rather than compensated for lack of flavor. Didn't stop me from loving their Whiskey bbq sauce though. The beans were a true bbq side, swimming in a mild sauce and containing lovely chunks of link. And the kale greens - sheesh - I think they might've switched to kale since our first visit. An effective exercise in alternative ruffage that holds seasoning and jucies for a similar bbq/soulfoud bite. We live further away now. Took the food to go, to prevent the intermittent rain from foiling more of our plans. It traveled well. And since I'm using our leftover bbq sauce on every other meal I cook, I'd say we successfully made do with our lunch substitute.

Take-out only, and after getting everything home and spending about $84.00 for 3 meals, I was salivating in anticipation. The cornbread muffin was my first sampling. A bit on the sweeter side but moist and delicious. Potato salad? A no, a big no, way too bland. Then I tried the Mac & cheese, something most BBQ spots never seem to get quite right. That was the verdict for this very dry side here as well. So what about the Tri-tip? They were completely out of their Brisket by the way, other than their burnt ends. And that wasn't much to speak of. Nor was the Tri-tip minus the sauce which is given on the side. The sauce was up to par. The only protein that was pretty decent was the chicken, even the breast was moist and tender. But the cornbread, sauce and chicken weren't enough to save this sinking ship. The wife and I also shared a side of their way too watered down, and poorly seasoned yams. Rather mushy with we guessed way too much maple syrup, nutmeg, cinnamon, sugar, and who knows what else. I don't believe we finished any more than half of our sides. Just all around disappointing and we definitely won't be back.

The street is super dark and desolate looking it feels like an industrial area think City of Industry. There's no parking well there's one spot to park for pick up. The street parking is filled with what looked like broken down type cars the four I seen had chalk writing like tow yards do. To the food!!! Ordered 2 two meat meals that come with 2 sides. Not a piece of bread or muffin was included. Please notice the dry @$$ pulled pork? and I got 4 pieces of a rib tip that was the same as 1 maybe 2 real tips ANYWHERE else.the tips were chopped into 2-4 pieces from one full tip. So I really feel cheated and I was frigging hungry -hungry. The pork was dry and couldn't be swallowed without the bbq sauce and drink. She ordered a hot link with ribs and added a side of ribs for an additional $24. The sides came in a small container I had Mac n cheese and greens which every bite I was like wish I had cornbread to add to these greens. While she had greens and the sweet potato (which by the way was the best thing they had going on) the Mac was average I'm about to reheat and toast again before I hit send for this review. Reheated the side of ribs, greens and Mac and it's a bit better than the pulled pork, but this definitely isn't a bbq spot I'd advise anyone to go to nor would I dare try without bbq sauce and a lot of it. Dessert banana pudding last time I was here the desserts were pretty good. This tasted like the yoplait whips yogurts consistency and like knock of Nila wafers I was just sooo utterly disappointed.

Bludso's brisket is tender and marinated just right. While some briskets are too salty, Bludso's maintains a light and balanced flavor profile, which lets me enjoy the flavor of the beef. However, be warned that some leaner cuts might be a tad bit dry. The pork ribs were also great. although they weren't "fall off the bone" soft, it's still one of the best ones I've had in LA. The sides were also good. They weren't mind blowing but they were definitely comforting. Overall, Bludso's is a great BBQ spot that I would come to again and again. Definitely one of the best in LA. Note: I do have to say that if you're from Texas, you might not be "wow'd". Franklin BBQ in Austin is leagues above both Bludso's and Moo's (first time in my life having brisket melt in my mouth!!).
