Came here on a Friday during Lent so I didn't get to take the pic of the menu like I normally would. I had to go for a non-meat option. I chose the French onion soup. This was really good, rich and very flavorful. It would have been nice if it came with a slice of French bread on the side as well, but it was still very tasty. My dad got the three pancake trio and that looked really good. I was envious. Had a cinnamon bun pancake, a cookie butter pancake, and a strawberry pancake.

Best service ever and a great cup of coffee too! I stopped with friends after a hike in Kankakee. The cafe had small town charm and big time flavor. The decor was really cute too!!

Mimi's is a spot that I have been going to since I was in high school. I was happy that their breakfast menu is more vegetarian friendly than their lunch menu. Our server was very kind and attentive. We tried a muffin that was delightful. I was disappointed in the avocado toast simply because the amount of avocado was small. I ended up taking the slices from someone else's meal to get close to a full serving. I was also sad that they didn't offer oat milk, but almond is okay. This is just a casual family friendly spot that offers a fine breakfast.

I was very disappointed from the minute I walked in the door. The decor for Christmas was minimal and the restaurant looked like an old Tuscan Grandmothers house. The service was fair. He had no personality and spoke barely above a whisper. The food was mediocre at best. Not hot, not flavorful

The server was very kind, but service was very slow. The restaurant has an older Cajun vibe but the seat I was on was so old I was sitting half in a hole in the bench seat. I tried the strawberry basil margarita, but it was not drinkable as it was too much mix. My husband got the jambalaya, which was okay but underwhelming. The bacon, crab, and shrimp pasta was okay for a few bites but very oily to the point it wasn't edible as it cooled. We were supposed to get toast with each dish, but didn't get it with either. The appetizer sampler was the saving grace for this meal and was the only reason it received more than one star. Overall, it was very overpriced for very subpar quality. Our meal was right at 100 dollars and more than half wasn't consumable.

Nice spot! The entire restaurant is huge, so there's a ton of seating. There was no wait for breakfast, we were seated promptly and our server greeted us pretty quickly once we were seated. The menu is extensive with so many different choices, not only for breakfast, but lunch and dinner as well. I've passed this place too many times not realizing what it had to offer. A great location in the Valley! Food was great! Another unexpected option was the huge beverage selection, including boozy breakfast options! Can't wait to try another meal here!

Never been to a Mimi's, tried it for lunch service. Pretty uninspiring menu, typical sandwich/burger fare so I went with a burger. Service was space, the place was not bustling by any means but looks like only 2 servers. My burger arrived and it is clearly not fresh. It's a frozen, out of a box hockey puck burger on a brioche bun. First bite, flavorless.and not hot. Not impressed with this restaurant. My server visited my table once, and ignored me until I requested my check. My booth was dirty looking, in disrepair and neglected. The pleather was flaking and the cloth seemed filthy. Ugh. My first and likely my only meal at Mimi's Cafe. Do better.

I was looking for a diner and decided to check out Mimi's. The atmosphere was cozy like and definitely had a cafe vibe in the air. It took several minutes to be greeted and seated, then several more minutes to get drink orders. The wait staff was polite. I ordered spinach artichoke, a cajun shakshuka and the grand breakfast with bacon, eggs, and pain perdu mixed with berries. The spinach artichoke was solid and parmesan forward, the cajun shakshuka was underwhelming in flavor and spices, no real cajun flavor to speak of and honestly a less than hearty shakshuka, a nice effort that fell flat, the eggs and bacon were what you would want from any diner, the star of the show was the pain perdu, soft, moist, and yet fluffy and airy at the same time. If I recommend anything here it's the typical diner fare.

    Delicious food and great service

The three of us (my former colleague and a current colleague of hers) all enjoyed a tea while we caught up. It absolutely tasted fresh brewed. Their first waiter left without clearing the table, so when the new server cleared it up and was so kind, she was rewarded with a nice tip and some Lindt pistachio truffles, which I brought for my friends. 98% of my reviews include photos, but because we were all caught up in conversation, I didn't take any this time. Stevie was my server that night and she provided friendly top notch service. I ordered a spicy margarita for my cocktail. I was a little disappointed with the drink. It was very cucumber forward, had a nice heat, but lacked that signature lime flavor and tartness required of a good margarita. The brussel sprouts and cheese grits were a must try for me. The pork chop was the perfect entree to accompany these sides. The brussel sprouts were charred and crispy. The balsamic glaze paired nicely with the charred flavor. The pork chop is served in a very generous portion juicy and tender. The citrus sauce paired nicely with the pork. The cheese grits were creamy and delicious. All in all a delightful meal. The portions were generous enough for me to have hearty meal of leftovers the next day. The menu is fairly concise with burgers, pizza, pasta, sandwiches, beer/pork/chicken entrees, and salads. They have something for just about everyone. The appetizer menu offers loaded brussel sprouts with bacon balsamic and feta. This would have been too much to tackle by myself. I plan on bringing my friends next time to share this dish.

You'd hardly know that it exists. It's weirdly anonymous in both its physical presence and its overall branding. You could drive by it for years and not know that it's there. I work nearby, and I was invited to tag along with a group of people from my job. I hardly know any of them, and we don't really work together. They may not have been able to put together a group of eight without inviting me. Hardly anyone actually shows up for work. I was more than happy to take advantage of the opportunity, and I got a chance to try a little bit of everything. Several appetizers were ordered, and people were putting on a front like they don't eat constantly, which, let's be honest, they'd have to. That just meant more for me. The deep fried deviled eggs were a revelation and obviously not anything I'd so much as imagine, let alone order. They're literally deviled eggs that have been breaded and deep fried and then served on a bed of deviled-egg filling, with bacon and raw jalapeno slices as garnish. They're brilliant, in a Billy Tuttle sort of way. If anyone knew who that was, they could probably license his name and likeness and do more business than have been. It's that kind of restaurant. Everything is unnecessarily large, like at the Cheesecake Factory. An appetizer called Duck Wings is apparently just that. Who even knew that ducks had wings? They're like weirdly large chicken wings, but not as good, but... uh, still pretty good. The pretzel sticks and the mozzarella sticks were just whatever. The mozzarella sticks are roughly the size of, uh, we're not gonna go there. But you don't get as many of them. Depending on the size of your party, you might have to split them in two. Same goes with the pretzels. If they were to give you more and just charge more than they're already charging, someone would probably assault the waitress on GP. This place carries a Farmhouse Burger, like the aforementioned Cheesecake Factory, so I was obligated to get one, morally, and for the sake of citizen food journalism. It's like a regular burger, but with bacon and an egg on it. It's not any of that smash burger BS. A smash burger is cool because it has crisp edges, but here's a little secret: you can also cook a much larger burger until it's crisp. And if it's thick enough (no Diddy), it might still be a little bit rare on the inside. Bonus! This burger was honestly much better than it had any right to be, given the overall vibe of this establishment, which seemed kinda dirty and run down. It reminded me of the burgers I used get at Culpeppers back before most attractive girls these days were even born. If they offered one with a compound cream cheese on it (just nod along like you have any what I'm talking about), I might have cried in front of my coworkers, and then I would have had to quit. Overall, I was both surprised and delighted by this place. I can't tell you that I'd be back, even if someone else was paying, but my one visit wasn't half bad.

You step to the counter to order, there was one guy explaining the menu and answering the questions we had, and a guy on the register. I connected the dots when reviewing the menu, a food genre with several different options. Steakburgers, Sandwiches, Loaded Potatoes, Salads, All Day Breakfast, Flatbreads, Fried Chicken and Wings, Mexican, Greek, Pasta, and Drinks. This is a lot of options, we are on a Fried Chicken kick so we did the fried chicken, half chicken with a biscuit, and boneless wings tossed in wing sauce. We took the order to go and tried the boneless wings before driving away. I was afraid they were going to have thick, crusty, and dense breading but the breading was thin, crispy, and really good. The sauce was the right amount and not too much. The ranch dressing was ok; I didn't use it after trying it. We had a long trek home after a couple more pit stops so we reheated the regular fried chicken in the air fryer before digging in. It was pretty good. The biscuit was ok, wasn't sure if it was homemade or not. We will definitely stop in again when we are in the area. Staff was friendly and helpful and several tables if you want to dine in.
