I was invited to a presentation at this Mimi's Cafe in Henderson. It was my first time here since I live about twenty miles away. This restaurant is quite big and nicely decorated. It looks clean and comfortable. I had a Petite House Salad and Blackened Atlantic Salmon. The salad was tossed in a red wine shallot vinaigrette dressing which was quite delicious. The salad was well- prepared and refreshing. The salmon came with two sides and I picked Garlic Spinach and Seasoned Vegetables. Not too many restaurants serve blackened steak or fish anymore, I was delighted to see it on the menu. The vegetables were well cooked, not soggy at all. The blackening on the salmon could have used a bit more flavor. Overall it was a decent dish. Service was good. Our server was friendly and professional. I heard the French Pot Roast is their signature dish. Will come back and give it a try next time I am in the area. read more

My husband and I went to Mimi's Cafe after not eating there for awhile because they had started to decline in service, atmosphere, and their food,but we decided that maybe they had gotten better after not eating there for about a year, but boy were wrong, very wrong. We stood at the hostess stand for awhile because no one acknowledged that we were there,and an employee of Mimi's walked in, and she didn't even ask if we had been helped, how long had we been waiting, nor did she tell anyone that they had customers waiting at the hotess stand. I use to be a server and I built myself up to manager, and we always had someone at the hostess stand,and if we had came into work, and saw customers waiting, we would either help them and seat them, or we told someone that customers were waiting up front. Just as we were about to leave, a server came up and seated us. My husband got his drinks, but my drink, a simple coffee order, the server said that she'd be right back with, and I waited,and waited, and I got my drink a little bit before our food came out. I also ordered very clearly an ice tea with no ice, and I was give an ice tea with ice, and I reminded our server about how I ordered my ice tea, and she corrected it. While looking at the menu, my husband and I noticed that Mimi's had added Mexican food to their menu, and as much as I love Mexican food, it doesn't need to be on a supposedly French restaurant's menu! They had replaced French music with the most awful music ever that wasn't French last time we ate there, and this time they weren't playing any music. My husband was an electrician, electronic tech for Boeing, and he saved them over $1.6 million dollars, and he was noticed for his hard work, and he had a great reputation for knowing his stuff right up to when he retired. He also knows about air conditioners, and he noticed that Mimi's air conditioner wasn't working, and he said something, but nobody paid attention. He was only trying to make sure that his recently diagnosed with cancer wife wasn't going to get overheated and sick. They had no fans going, and didn't even attempt to try and make the few customers in there comfortable, and trust me, there were very few people in there. It was extremely slow.I told our server that I was allergic to potatoes, so I was going to order a substitution and pay the difference, and to please put it on the plate with my entree. I was given 2 separate plates with my entree and substitution on the separate plates, and roll I ordered was very small and you could tell that it came from a can. My entree had no flavor, it was very blah, and it hardly contained any of the ingredients that were listed. My simple coffee order was pitiful too. I ate because if I didn't, my husband would've worried himself sick, and he would've called my doctor who would have to tell him again that loss of appetite is normal for people with cancer. Our server barely checked on us, but she was quick to bring us our check, and then she disappeared again for a long time, and my husband made the comment that he bet that we could just walk and nobody would notice, and I agreed, but it's a good thing that my husband and I are very honest people who would never do that to someone. We've put Mimi's back on our " Don't eat here even if you're starving " list. Family invited us to dine here for Thanksgiving dinner. First time having a holiday meal out and first time at Mimi's. Our reservation was for 1:15 and we were seated on time. Fifteen minutes later our drink order was taken and delivered five minutes later. At 1:50 our waitress appeared and took our dinner orders. Our food started to arrive at 2:20. Yes the restaurant was very busy but they weren't adequately prepared in my opinion. The holiday turkey meal was $31.99. For the cheapest meat you can buy this to me was price gauging. The meal came with soup or a choice of salads and a small piece of pie for dessert. They did have two different options for people that don't like turkey. Either salmon or a hamburger. The turkey dinner was huge. It was not some processed turkey product. It all tasted good except there was too much salt in the gravy which was put over almost everything. I wish cooks would learn that salt can be added but not removed. The restaurant was big and we had a good table. It wasn't so loud that we could hear each other. I've lived in the vicinity of this Mimi's Cafe for about 17 years and I've never had the chance to come in. Well, I wanted breakfast and I was tired of our usual spots, so we decided to come in and give this place a try for the first time. Walking in on a Saturday, late morning, there were quite a few people in but it wasn't busy at all. We were sat right away in a booth near the front door. The decor is a bit dated but I kind of liked the old home/country living feel about the place. Extremely nostalgic. I'd only be mad about outdated if the place smelled or was visibly dirty, which is NOT the case here. It's very clean in here. Our server was good and checked up on us fairly frequently. She was nice but not overly, the perfect combination of attentiveness and politeness I like in a server. We got two iced coffees and they were excellent. I liked their presentation, definitely wasn't expecting that. Our meals came fairly quickly and we both enjoyed what we ordered. I will admit I wasn't a huge fan of the potatoes on my plate but there was nothing "wrong" with them. I'm not a fan of overly seasoned things, especially potatoes, but my husband thought they were fine. This was my first time ever ordering from Mimi's Cafe and I was very excited. I was in from California and I ordered a delivery order to my hotel. Came quick and presentation was perfect. The turkey club was not very good. The croissant was hard as a rock. They put mayonnaise when i specifically requested there not to be any. The turkey was slimy and had an odd taste. Fries were good and well seasoned. The Dubai chocolate muffin was smashed and sloppily made. It was also dense and extremely dry. Bummer, as I have never tried anything that flavor before. My wife enjoyed her French toast and her eggs. I ate her bacon but there were several pieces raw, not fully cooked all the way. I guess it's just hit and miss. read more

We just love Mimi's. It is very cozy inside. It is beautifully decorated with the authentic French theme. The place is very clean. We have been here several times now and every visit has been a great experience. Pleasant atmosphere with nice background music at the proper volume level. You can actually hold a conversation. Menu was quite large with a good number of "new" and seasonal offerings. Food came out fairly quick and also our food was prepared fresh. We have tried different dishes and every single one was delicious. The food was tasty , fresh and served in nice portions! The food was made from scratch and they have seasonal menu too. Our favorite dish is: the French Pot Roast- it's so good!! And also their French Onion Soup is to die for, so yummy! Their muffins and Madeline's are made from scratch daily and you can taste the difference in the freshly baked food. ( which is so rare these days). Staff were friendly and professional. We were greeted with a smile and everyone was very nice, attentive and inviting . We have met the general manager Damon and he was very friendly, welcoming and you can tell that he truly cares about his customers. We have felt appreciated and we had a great experience. I haven't been here for a long time. Came here around 730ish p.m. Thursday night. Not full, maybe 5 tables were occupied. It waiter John is superb. I noticed their menu is huge compared to 7 years ago. I ordered turkey dinner and it wasn't bad at all and hubby ordered half roasted chicken. The portions were just right. I'm from out of town, so the weather to me has been very cold which made me crave corn chowder. Yelp showed me Mimi's Cafe as a recommendation, so I decided to try it out. I was skeptical, especially since the reviews weren't so great. My nieces and I arrived around 5:30pm, it was already dark outside. Once we walked in, we noticed that it was big inside, however, it was EMPTY. No other customers. We thought okay, fine, we'll still try. The whole time we were there, there was only one other family that ended up coming in. The service. Our waiter was great! He was friendly and uplifting, considering we were the only people anyway. We he took our order, he offered to spilt our pot roast for us since my niece & I were sharing. We really appreciated the offer. He also checked in on us often. The food. Yikes. Everything looked and sounded so good. The latte I got, was cold and didn't have any mocha flavoring. It was kind of like an unsweetened cocoa milk. The spinach dip. Don't order. Tasted like cardboard honestly. It had no taste at all. It even had this weird after taste. The pot roast, this was too flavorful. It was salty and kind of like shoyu-y??? Very strong taste. I like that the meat was soft. Maybe it would've been good with rice to balance out the taste? But yeah, the corn chowder, way to cheesy taste. We used to love Mimi's but I'm not sure what has happened to the quality of everything. We ordered two French dips from a very sour waitress. Her attitude was so poor we almost got up and left. When we got the French dips, I almost had to hunt for the beef. Very little on each. Less than 1/4 inch thick. That's NOT a French dip. My friend thought it tasted off but it was just ok for me. For $54, we deserved good food and a smile. There was only two other tables full of people so it was very quiet for lunch time. The bathrooms were unkept and dirty. That's a huge turn off. So sad as Mimi's used to be pretty good. Not any more. The food was poor, the service lacked any personality. Used to come here about once every few months but have not been here for awhile. It was lunch time and only about3 tables in the entire place have customers. That should have been the red flag. They used to have delicious fresh muffins but the one I got was hard on the outside and extremely hot inside. That spells "Microwave" something that has been sitting around. Asked for the omelet to be soft and was really firm and over cooked. Had to ask for ketchup as it was not offered. Potatoes were old and really soft. The meal did not include a dinner roll. Pats of butter were absolutely not provided. The gravy was dark and salty. The meatloaf resembles a hamburger patty. It was dry, hard and possibly be a discus or used for a doorstop. And it required a hammer and chisel to cut into it! Mimi's has to do BETTER. I paid $17.25 for this atrocity. The meal compared to school cafeteria's lunches, I will give the cafeteria 5 s. Fire the chef and bulldoze the building. Turn it into a Taco Bell. read more

Placed an order online for pick up showed to be told that one of my items wasn't available. Wasn't told that i couldn't choose anything in particular chose so my wife chose her replacement dinner to then be told that they can't do that because of the price difference i would have to charged for a full meal. There were only 5 tables of people in the restaurant and both servers were running around frantically. The price difference between the two items my wife wanted was only 10 dollars they probably lost triple that just keeping the doors open for 5 tables at 6pm on a Friday. She looked to be in her mid 20's, dark hair and slightly chunky. There were people waiting to be seated, 2 couples. The bar area seating lookss dark. I don't mind waiting because it is obviously full. I waited at the hostess podium while she went to the back, while she called one couples name to be seated and then called the 2nd couple. At no point did she look at us. Never said I'll be right with you. I didn't expect her to stop and take our name but acknowledgement would have been great. The bare minimum. After walking past us again after seating the 2nd customer and still ignoring us, we were out. Customer service is important. I'll be back and hope the service is better then. read more

I love the eggs benedict dishes here and their breakfast combos are a good deal if you order something that comes with a muffin. The menu is a bit on the pricier side compared to other breakfast places like Brass Fork (basically next door in Sunset Station). But Mimi's is a great replacement for the Marie Callendar's that closed right down the road last year. I love the music, lighting, and decor at this location. It's a great place to hang out and catch up on the newspaper, a book, or some writing. This location hasn't been very busy the last four times I've gone so it's a good place to chill and quietly enjoy your food. My only complaint is that the staff seem to want most customers to leave within an hour of being seated and act a little offput by someone bringing a laptop or papers to work on while they wait for their food or enjoy some coffee. I could understand this more if the restaurant was actually busy and they needed tables, or if it was disturbing other customers. It makes me feel unwelcome when I'm the only person in a section of the restaurant and I feel like I'm being shooed out the door after only 90 minutes, some eggs, and two cups of coffee. read more

My mom and I stopped by Mimi's Cafe this morning for a little breakfast outing, and it was such a lovely experience from start to finish! The food was fresh, flavorful, and comforting--exactly what you want from a cozy cafe brunch. Huge shoutout to our server, Mirna--she was absolutely wonderful! It's been years since we have been to a Mimi's. This was just awful, not only did it feel really dirty (blinds, windows) but it felt outdated and cheesy. And the food was not edible. Pineapple was old and tasted like it was rotting, corned beef hash was the worst I've ever tasted, all of the food was Luke warm and my sausage was gray. Fading away. A once great restaurant now basically holding it together. I suspect business has evaporated because of the overpriced menu. The Pot Roast dinner was very basic. Fairly good Demi-Glaze-like-sauce but tasted metallic. Like it hung out in a container too long until it was ready to be reheated. The meat was tender but small portion. I had maybe three thin slices of mushrooms and the same for the carrots. The mashed potatoes I don't think were fresh made, but rather reconstituted. For $18.99 it was not worth it. We used to get a slice of carrot bread or a muffin to take home, and a bread basket before the meal. It doesn't exist anymore. Bring back the pre-COVID era prices and maybe you'll bring back the customers. Also, remodel the bathrooms. They're run down and smells like a biker bar. read more

Johnny took us all in with open arms and made sure we were taken care of with the absolute best service. Even with such a large, unexpected group, the food was phenomenal, and Johnny made the entire experience seamless. His attentiveness, kindness, and professionalism truly stood out, and he handled everything with ease and a great attitude. The entire staff was lovely, but Johnny went above and beyond to ensure that everything worked out perfectly. Have not been here in years. Ordered Brie on the appetizer menu and they are out of Brie???? The menu has changed, the portion sizes have changed and the place is ok. To me it was not as good as it used to be. The highlight was our server John who was very friendly and took good care of us. The ambiance is still the same, business seems to be ok, but this would not be my first choice for food again unless there were no other choices. It's a chain so it is what it is. How you run out of food that's on the menu is just poor management. It was interesting that it took our waiter almost 10 minutes after we ordered the Brie to come back to say they were out of it. Would just like to post some constructive criticism. When people walk through the door, even if the hostess is not at the station, someone should at least acknowledge people. After five minutes, asked for a table and was told there would be a 10 minute wait and the message was delivered like we were annoying her. Looking around, the place was 80% empty. Without an explanation of why we we needed to wait in the feeling that we were a major inconvenience, my friend, and I decided to walk out.
