Came here for dinner on a weekday night and had a great experience! We were seated right away and the service was good throughout. I recommend their Jambalaya with pasta which had a slight kick to it and was full of flavor. The food overall was delicious and the portions were generous as well. Will definitely be back! read more

Had a gathering after a celebration of life at the national cemetery. A private room was provided and with a variety of appetizers and sweets served. Our server was Sierra ,made sure all the attendees had beverages and enough dishes. She was outstanding. Easy distance from the cemetery and good parking. Pretty empty during the dinner rush and it quickly became clear why: the food is pretty average. Wife says the bread basket used to have a variety of items, but it's just sliced baguette now. At least they were toasted unlike the depressingly soft bread that came with the baked brie. The jambalaya was the worst thing we ordered. Worst service! We just went there to celebrate my son's promotion and we were seated right away but they left us waiting for more that 10 minutes. When I asked the lady in the cash register to see who was assigned to the back where I was seated, she had no clue. Ordered the Holiday Turkey Feast for a family Christmas dinner. Arrived for pick up and they misplaced my order. The turkey was frozen so they gave me sliced lunch meat turkey. It was not the same. Came here Saturday night with a friend. It was a pleasure to eat here since I had not been to a Mimi's for about a decade. This quaint restaurant is never my go-to because there's not too many around so I forget they exist. It was a great choice to come here after we learned a restaurant we were supposed to go to was closed. It was meant to be! I ordered my usual that I would get when I would come here and that was a 5-way Grilled Cheese with a salad included and fries. In addition, I ordered a bowl of their French Onion soup: just delicious! The portion size was perfect. However, my friend ordered same thing but tomato soup. His bowl almost was like a dish. It was served in a shallow bowl and looks was very deceiving. Almost looked like a bowl but has he dipped his spoon, it was a very shallow plate like bowl. I would never order this again. It was delicious, but not for the price he paid. He paid $9.99 for this and I was shocked. Friendly and informative staff. Plenty of parking here. Bathrooms well stocked. read more

Sunday Funday Brunch. Luckily there wasn't much of a line, and we only waited for less than 10 minutes. Our waitress was super nice and friendly. Wonderful experience at Mimi's starting with our personable and efficient server Colenthia. The 4 of us all had something different and each agreed the food was tasty and reasonably priced. While I have eaten at Mimi's before and had good enough food and service - Today was a perfect storm of utter failure at this location. We were seated on the side of the restaurant with no air conditioning. They seated everyone after us, on the cool side, while we sweltered. We ordered drinks and then, food, - and while waiting asked for refills on the drinks - they never came. When the food came out - one of the the orders was wrong - - and,,, there was no silverware or napkins. We had to get up and ask for them.... The food was not much to talk about - certainly not up to expectations based on 20 bucks a head. And then they messed up the Credit card payment. So today - poor and very forgetful service - sweltering temps and substandard food - the end. read more

My first visit here in 6+ years, and not a lot has changed. I ordered the $30 3-course meal of pot roast, mini Caesar salad and toffee cake with ice cream for dessert. There were assorted reasons for my 3-star deduction: 1. Arrived at the hostess station at 4:20 p.m. and no one to be found. I waited and waited and waited.....Why? 2. Bread basket arrived but there were NO carrot nut bread nibblies. I was told they are NO longer FREE, but now you must pay $1.99 if you want those. WTH? 3. Salad was O.K. but way too many croutons and why was there iceberg lettuce in the salad along with Romaine? 4. Pot roast was the worst I have ever had at any Mimi's, as the cook on the beef and the beef itself were inconsistent. Some was super tender and yummy, while other parts were tough/grizzly and overall miserable. Why? The carrots were grossly under cooked and hard in the mouth. I may return in the future, as Mimi's has a massive and varied menu, but this experience put my CAUTION lights on high alert. read more

Haven't been here in a few years and I'm really disappointed. The server was a younger white male and he wasn't really attentive at all. Took forever to come take our order and give refills. We would finish the drink so fast because it was all ice in the cups. The day was kinda slow here and even then he was always gone didn't come check on us and was only really friendly when he was leaving. The potato au gratin was different it's a huge slab of tasteless potatoes. We didn't really want to tip at all because the service sucked but only did because we felt bad. read more

This is the only Mimi's Cafe that I come to in Southern California. I am not big on places like this because prices are very steep. You are paying a lot for very minimal food unless you are a kid. For adults and any other Mimi's Cafe, the quality is very terrible. I have been to plenty of french restaurants back when I had a good paying job but this place is terrible. Food quality is not very good. I only came here once because I was too tired from Coachella after going wild with coworkers. This place is nothing but a quick eat and go. I also ate at Mimi's back when it was near my flat but as with any of these joints the price doesn't go away. I am not paying near $400 for very little food. Note: we had 10 people so that's the price seen. I am not sure who runs these joints but you got no respect for broke customers. read more

I recently moved back to California and I could not wait to visit this restaurant! I used to eat here all the time and I remember the food being absolutely delicious! Last week, I went to this location on Day Street. The ambiance was pretty nice, and the service was excellent! However the food was absolute TRASH! Apparently the recipes have changed for the worst not for the better. The food taste like bland diet food. I don't know what happened to the quality of the food, perhaps they're saving money by cutting too many corners I don't know. The first time was amazing, but this time there were a couple of issues with the food. My Wagyu ribeye was ordered medium-rare but came out rare, and the crème brûlée wasn't cooked properly either. Aside from those two mistakes, the food was great. I highly recommend the cauliflower steak and mushroom risotto--they were both delicious! I'm still giving them 4 stars because the staff were super friendly, attentive, and genuinely tried to make things right. I'll definitely be back, and hopefully the kitchen has addressed the issue with the undercooked meat.

We spoke to the manager and we reviewed that we understand the ratio for drinks to food and what they use as a guideline for serving/safety, but for a server to follow some one and question them away from their table on top of asking us previously about drinks/driver is wildly inappropriate, demeaning, and just disrespectful on all levels. Where do I begin??? First let me say that I've been going to Mimi's since it first opened... I had not been in awhile and thought why not go for dinner (last week) I took my Aunt & Uncle who have also been going for years and fell in love with the simple menu and rich flavors. So we are seated to a not so clean table and the setting was only half set. I thought perhaps once we were sat that the table would be set for us. The hostess just sat never saying anything about the NEW menu... We began to look it over discussing the options and thought to keep and open mind. A bit later the server appeared and seem shuffled about. Mind you this is a Wednesday evening. She made some excuse for being out of sorts and then started to get the order. Brought drinks and bread but never did she complete the settings on the table. Little to no silver, no bread plates and no napkins. So I thought she would bring it out after taking the drink order - nope I thought wrong. I did ask for the settings to be done since the silver on the table was dirty. This did not happen. So waited a few minutes, but after having the bread basket and no plates or silver. I decided to ask the manager Anthony. He apologized and stated he would have the table set in no time. Again this did not happen. So after the bread was eaten with crumbs all around, the table was set. (30-45 minutes later) Now to this NEW menu - And new it was. Nothing really seemed inviting to try. Thee items were french nouveaux. I asked what about the Orange Crepes??? The reply was not so good more like a sweet orange sauce on a pancake. So ok second choice was the Madame burger. The twist here is it had an egg on it. Well after all that I went with the simple soup that i have loved since day one. French Onion!!! I was assured it was the original recipe nothing changed, just the size. Let me say this YUCK!!! If you are going to run low on the soup and you let it cook down to the bottom and burn it... don't scrap the bottom and mix it in to pass it off as GOOD!!! It was so disgusting! Sent it back with hopes that a FRESH pot would be ready and when it was brought out it was COLD. At this point I was done with any food from this establishment. Moving along to the Chicken Pot Pie... WHAT A JOKE!!! It was a very small bowl of the cream of chicken soup with mushrooms and white wine with some overbearing herbs added. $11 buck for this dish. Nothing but a piece of pastry dough on top placed in the oven to crisp it up ( but in this case it had been microwaved after crisping) This was the WORST I've ever had!!! The quiche was burnt - it did not taste light and delicious. It was not even served with fruit or a muffin. Nothing but the quiche. Very disappointing!!!! What more can I say this is WAS BAD not matter how you look at it. Funny thing is OTHERS in the restaurant that night felt just as we did. LET DOWN!!! I will not being going back as long as this NEW French Nouveaux menu is in place. Bring back the ORIGINAL tried and true menu that Mimi's is known for. Hey hey! Mimi's Cafe! Nice little spot in Moreno Valley to visit for lunch and grab a quick bite to eat from a pretty decent menu. Had a great experience on my last visit with a great friend. My friend and I love to share and eat food! We decided to grab two entrees and two beverages and "share" between the both of us. I decided to try the "French Quarter" and she decided to try the "Chicken Piccata with Asparagus." Two great entree choices that are quite popular, as stated by the waitress who took our order. In addition, we also ordered a fountain drink and a Stella Artois. My sandwich came with delicious coleslaw, which I am a huge fan of, and french fries, although you could decide between fries or kettle chips. The French Quarter consisted of always amazing avocado, two slices of swiss cheese, generous amounts of bacon, and 1000 island dressing in between two garlic grilled parmesan sourdough bread slices! Ugh so good! It was also topped with crisp lettuce, tomato, onions, and pickles. It was a great combination of toppings and flavors infused with the overall taste that sourdough bread possesses. The coleslaw was also a great compliment and I would easily ask for two servings of coleslaw, instead of a side of french fries. As for the other dish, Chicken Piccata with Asparagus, it was very interesting. We decided to order the dish without the garlic mushrooms that are included in the meal. The mushrooms would originally be topped on the chicken breast and covered in the lemon caper butter sauce, but instead it was removed by our request. In addition, the meal was served with excellent asparagus and mashed potatoes. Asparagus, how can you go wrong there!? It was really good and the lemon pepper sauce went well on both the chicken and asparagus. We did not finish the whole meal, partly due to the fact that we were still eating the French Quarter sandwich (haha). It was a delicious meal altogether. Both recommended. The only negative that I have to mention is towards the Stella Artois; it was warm! Who wants a warm beer? It was a downer and probably the only thing holding Mimi's Cafe back from an overall five star rating. My soda was really cold though! The service is great and the waitress who helped us was very friendly. She was constantly asking if I needed another refill, new beverage, or desert! We did have to originally wait about ten minutes for a table, as it was busy during our lunch visit. Lots of people all ready to eat and drink warm beer! (Haha) Overall, great experience and a fun place to grab a bite to eat. I would recommend Mimi's to anyone in the area who wants to try something different and, for the most part, inexpensive. I have always liked Mimi's - for lunch and/or dinner. They have one of the best menus going, and their food is just plain enjoyable. Now, my surprise came when I got an email coupon for a breakfast special. Mimi's does breakfast?! Boy, do they ever!!! They've got an Eggs Ranchero Bowl - yes, Mimi's is supposed to be French-style, but they sure rocked this Mexican dish. It wasn't just the food, though. The people have always been polite, and the servers competent, but I felt that the morning crew really had it together. The welcome coming in made me feel like they were genuinely happy to see me - the hostess came across as being very sincere, not a practiced, memorized greeting. Our server was not only knowledgeable and cordial, but she was very prompt and paid close attention to our needs - and she had an entire area she was serving - she never missed a beat. I thought this might have been a fluke - so, we went a second time, and got the same treatment: great food, great service, and very reasonable prices. My mom had the Salmon with potato's and spinach and I ordered Steak and Frites. The steak its self had a lot of fat around it. My two bites were great but as I was cutting it I realize my steak was still red and started to bleed. I had ordered a well done steak at first and having the steak look like this I freaked out a little (not a lot) I wave down our server to tell my situation and he immediately addresses the situation. I told him I'm not upset but I would like another steak. I waited 10min for them to bring my steak back for it to come back as the same steak I was eating the first time! Truth be told I haven't really gone into a Mimi's since back when I was a kid. The outside had always reminded me of a Gingerbread house. I was meeting a friend in the area and we decided on something cozy and nice for her kids to handle. The service was exactly what you would expect at a Gingerbread inspired house: warm, friendly and kind to the kids. I ordered the French toast cinnamon rolls and although it was very good--eggs as well--probably not the best for being productive later. That nap hit hard and it was definitely cinnamon induced. Just wanted to give credit to where credit should be given. Might even stop by for another visit sometime soon to try something a bit more savory. Went to Mimi's for Mother's Day and had such a great experience thanks to Erick. Even with how busy it was, he stayed super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything came out perfectly. So, I ordered a Cheeseburger just with the Meat and the Cheese with Mayo on the bun with French Fries on the side to eat. And I also ordered Dr. Pepper to drink. And the waiter's name is Chris. I ordered a hot chocolate and it was fantastic! I decided to get an omelette and my husband got eggs, hashbrowns, bacon and pancakes! Our food was delicious! We can't wait to come back!

Our plates came out hot which I appreciate, no garnish surprisingly. Good sized servings of eggs, ham and freshly made waffle, light and fluffy; delicious! Service was wonderful, breakfast platters were satisfying. As we were leaving a small roach came out behind the wall decor, eek. Not sure if we will return.
