This cozy little spot is run by Thai owners who clearly put a lot of effort into creating a Japanese atmosphere, and I really appreciated that. The decor and overall vibe definitely give off a Japanese feel. While the seafood and nigiri were fresh, the flavors weren't quite what I'd expect from an authentic Japanese restaurant. The miso soup and noodle dishes had an interesting twist, and the curry was unique as well. If you're specifically looking for traditional Japanese cuisine, this may not fully satisfy that craving. However, since I couldn't find a truly authentic Japanese restaurant in Naples, this is still a pleasant option. Overall, it's a cozy place with fresh ingredients and a different take on Japanese food that is worth trying.

Had lunch at Mimoto based on Yelp reviews and glad we did! When you step inside it's a very nice minimalist decor with bamboo furniture. We went 30 mins after they opened so we were seated right away. We ordered dumplings for appetizers Opted for the presets: blue fin tuna, poke and nigiri. We finished our meal with a Japanese pancake with red bean filling paired with matcha/vanilla ice cream. Very traditional Japanese cuisine experience. Highly recommend when in the downtown Naples area

Amazing Japanese Restaurant and Cuisine. The experience at the Sushi bar is the best! It's not a basic Sushi restaurant but more of a traditional Michelin Japanese cuisine. They prepare all plates in front of you and it's art. The ambiance is calm and relaxing. From the nigiri, to sashimi, to maki, to Zenzai, to Hon Maguro, to Soup, to Ika, to Donburi, Udon Noodle, everything is fresh and amazingly delicious. The Chef is very skilled and passionate. I believe it's hands down the best Japanese restaurant of Naples, Estero, Bonita, Fort Myers and I plan to come every week going forward. It's a gem and I felt in Japan for a bit of time. Love it.

By far the best sushi experience I've had in SWFL. The minimalist design of the space and ambiance is the perfect vibe for the sushi Mimoto is pumping out. We had a ton of ahi tuna and every piece melted in your mouth. The sake was spectacular as well. This is a must try for sushi lovers in SWFL!

Mimoto is the most authentic Japanese restaurant in Naples. Everything from the decor, to the interesting menu, to the food quality and presentation, to the service are up to true Japanese standards. Anyone who has been to Japan knows that they aim for perfection in everything they do! The restaurant is small and intimate, with a beautiful sushi bar framed in light colored wood and minimalist in style. You can watch the sushi chefs at work if you sit at or near the bar area. The menu has some traditional Japanese favorites such as the California roll, but consists mainly of items with a twist. All items with crab are made with real crab, not the fake "krab" used in many restaurants. There's a large selection of both sushi options and hot dishes. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, but our favorites were the udon noddles topped with crab, the eel on rice dish, and the California roll topped with tuna. The drinks are equally impressive, from the Saketini to the surprisingly green colored matcha IPA. They also have a nice selection of sakes at a variety of price points. Our server was very nice and attentive, and let us taste several different sakes until we found one we all liked. I highly recommend Mimoto to anyone who enjoys high quality Japanese food served in an authentic atmosphere. TIP: If there's no parking in front of the restaurant, try the back where there are a few additional spaces.

Was a really nice and lovely time at Mimoto ! The presentation , taste , atmosphere was very high quality and they even provided us a small dessert at the end . I tried to lobster hand roll , vegan sushi , spicy crab. Felt like I was in a Michelin restaurant. Very kind staff

Everything is absolutely fantastic here! You literally cannot go wrong with anything that you order, highly recommend.

I love Ichi Togarashi, so I wanted to try their new sister restaurant. And let me tell you, it was the perfect night. Please be sure to make reservations because you will not want to miss this place at all. The creativity and flavor in their food makes it one beautiful art piece. There was not one bad bite the entire night, and I loved watching the sushi chefs at work. The staff is so kind, attentive, and incredibly warm, as well as the atmosphere. I will most certainly be coming back, Mimoto is unforgettable!

Exquisite flavors combined with an inventive and elegant Japanese dining experience that goes beyond the traditional sushi menu. One of the loveliest lunches I was lucky enough to enjoy on my visit to Naples. My lychee/sake based cocktail was on point too! Can't wait to return.

Tuna cut roll, wrapped in rice paper, instead of Nori. The rice paper is delicate and has an excellent malleability. Excellent tuna!

We ate lunch during the week at this lovely authentic Japanese restaurant, and can finally say that Naples has a wonderful sushi place. After over a decade on the West Coast, where good sushi restaurants are abundant, everything here is Asian fusion (Thai/Sushi-adjacent) and except for KJ's on 5th (which is no more) we have been a little disappointed. The dining experience here at Mimoto is as it should be for folks looking for the art, intention, and mindfulness, of the culture, and attention to the quality and preparation in Japanese cuisine. Well done Mimoto !

Pre-Set Nigiri Lunch (Scallop, Hamachi, Salmon, Escolar Aburi, Bluefin Tuna, Salmon Ikura Hand-roll)

Came in for lunch almost on a whim and was pleasantly surprised at both the quality of ingredients, and the preparation. The appetizer we ordered (Salmon Tiradito) and the maki roll (escolar) were also quite tasty. I'd say the flavor of the rice was the highlight of the experience. The interior is aesthetically appealing, service was quick and friendly, and sitting at the bar is always a pleasant experience entertainment-wise. Will definitely be returning again.

What an amazing diner; such a fine cuisine. Everything was delicious. Definitely one of our Top 3 Asian restaurant in Naples.

Had lunch there recently when I visited the town for a race. Definitely the best meal I had there,…read moreand my server was one of the best I have ever seen. The restaurant has a large menu featuring different ramen (dry or w/ soup) and rice dishes, as well as appetizers. I tried their steamed vegetable dumplings and the pork ribs dry ramen. Both dishes were fantsastic. It was the first time that I had dumplings filled with endamame+minced garlic. It was savory and slightly sweet. The meat in the ramen was fork-tender and full of umami; the ramen was chewy; and it was served with a wide variety of fresh vegetables (zucchin, broccoli, carrot, onions, green onions, corn, microgreens, pickled ginger). The ramen was ~5oz. PS: the noodles are salty -- ramens are meant to be salty. Service was awesome. Several things that my server impressed me: 1. He asked me about my food allergies -- important for seafood-dense restaurants like a Japanese restaurant. 2. I asked for some extra ramen when I just got the entree. He suggested to bring me the extra when I almost finish the ramen in my entree. Surprisingly, he brought a small bowl of ramen exactly when I was about to finish it -- very precise and customer-oriented. 3. Food was served in a reasonable amount of time. 4. When he was taking the order of another table, he gave recommendations to the customers based on their dietary preferences, instead of blindly mentioning the "signature dishes" like most servers do. Moreover, when the customers ordered food, he squat down to listen what they said carefully. So, yes, I speak highly of this restaurant. Definitely recommend it. And I will dine in it again next time I visit Naples.

One of our neighbors used to live in the area and recommended anything in Tin City for lunch. We walked to Tin City from the free parking structure just off 5th Avenue and, while we found the area mildly interesting, we didn't like any of the typical joints along the water. Besides, having eaten at Dockside in Venice the day prior, we were looking for something other than seafood. In looking at Yelp, we were intrigued by Ichi Togarishi so we walked back towards 5th Avenue. Located just off 5th Avenue, this small place would be quite easy to miss. Upon entering, we realized how snug this place was. We were seated promptly and presented the menu. My wife ordered the Chicken Veggie Shoyu Soy Ginger and I had the Chashu Belly Garlic Noodle. We both liked our dishes, with complex, bold flavors. The Chashu belly was tender with sweetness and soy flavor shining thru. Its flavor profile reminded me of Pad Thai. A very nice find in Naples!

A Fantastic First Visit - Happy Hour Done Right!…read more I stumbled upon Lola 41 in Old Downtown Naples for their happy hour, which kicks off daily at 3:30 PM. I arrived a bit early - around 3:10 - and by 3:25 a small crowd had already started to gather, which tells you something about how popular this place is. Despite a little drizzle, people were eager to get in, and I quickly understood why. This was my first visit to Lola 41, and I was immediately struck by the space. The ambiance when you walk in is absolutely fabulous - beautifully designed and full of energy. The doors opened right at 3:31, and the bar filled up fast. As it turned out, they were celebrating their 2-year anniversary, which I had no idea about, but the buzz in the room made it feel like a special occasion. The bartending staff handled the rush with impressive efficiency - drinks were coming out quickly even as the place packed in. I thoroughly enjoyed my cocktail, and it delivered exactly what I was hoping for. I also ordered off the happy hour menu, and while there was a small mix-up with my food (completely understandable given the volume and the anniversary excitement), the staff was absolutely wonderful about it. They accommodated my request to have my order packed to go without any hesitation - and I have to say, once I got back to my hotel and dug in, I was not disappointed at all. For anyone visiting the Naples area, I highly recommend making Lola 41 a stop, even if just for happy hour. Grab a cocktail, try an appetizer, and I promise it will leave you wanting to come back for a full dinner. This one has earned a regular spot on my list, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

From the moment we walked in, the energy matched the occasion--calm, intimate, and polished without being pretentious. The service was exceptional, and I don't say that lightly. Our server was attentive to the flow of the evening, almost like they followed the house motto of "let the experience guide the guest." Every interaction felt natural, and every course arrived at the perfect time, no reminders needed. Now let's talk about the dish that stole the spotlight: the Shrimp Tempura Roll. It arrived crisp, warm, and beautifully plated. The texture contrast between the crunchy exterior and soft interior was on point. What took it next-level was the pairing with The Beach by Whispering Angel--a pink moscato that turned the entire moment into a scene from a dream. The fruity notes of the wine danced perfectly with the shrimp, elevating every bite with a refreshing finish. I always tell my friends: if you're looking to impress on a first date, this is the place. A few oddities for me were was the fried sushi. We ordered tempura shrimp sushi. NEVER had it with the entire piece of sushi fried. We expected tempura shrimp inside of the sushi. Also, the bubble tea was $5. We opted to not get bubble and it was regular price. Spring roll were small like they could have been frozen. Spicy edamame, wonton, Rangoon and seaweed salad were delicious. Drunken noodles with shrimp was tasty. Portion was small for $25. It included ample shrimp, but the noodle portion was light. Bathrooms were clean. Ambiance was cool. Noise level was surprisingly not loud even though the restaurant got packed during our visit. We were able to hear everyone at our table of six without yelling or leaning in. I'd return and hope to order off the lunch or happy hour menu.

Our meal ended up taking about 90 minutes after reservation, which was longer than we expected for a quick dinner. We shared two dozen oysters, king crab legs, the miso butterfish, and cocktail.. The oysters were fresh, though we had slightly higher expectations. The king crab was easily the standout of the meal. The miso butterfish was well prepared but a bit heavy on the sauce--I think a touch of acidity and a side of vegetables would have balanced it nicely, something to consider. Between the waterfront breeze, friendly hosts, and our server's hospitality, we still had an enjoyable evening. It may have simply been a busy night for the service team.
