realize I am asian-am from San francisco. so I am used to good food I was told by they front desk that this is THE best Chinese in Denver. and from the reviews, I thought perhaps it is very pretty. but the deco a little japanese with shoji sliding doors. very attentive service got the mango chicken (that was like tomato and mango flavored chicken) YUCK! the mango was ruined and the flavor just wrong wrong wong got the baby bok choi and beef as recommended by the waitress. that was GOOD!! really good!! the only dish I would recommend got the egg drop soup, was some crazy yellow color chow fun was like covered in a deep brown color. smoky flavor, I liked it. but I am not a chow fun fan - too much oil in all chow fun not just the one here got the basil chicken, but it was more like black bean chicken with some basil sprinkled in. no basil flavor at all. the rice was good. the fortune cookies were even bad... or not normal. read more

"YUMMY!" That's what I think when I hear "Ming's Dynasty". They have GREAt Singapore style Chinese Food. Oh, it's so good. I've only done the pick-up and the delivery thing. I can't believe how fast they are. I know that I only live like 3 or 4 blocks away but I order over the phone hand up, then I hear a *Whoooosh*-- *Knock, knock* -- How do they do that!? I always tip the guy $5 and he always smiles and leaves in a flash. My food is always hot, fresh and tasty, tasty! I always order too much but my staples are the pork lo mein, the coconut shrimp and the chicken fried rice. I sometimes like to order the veggie fried rice with the awesome bbq pork that they make. I also am a big fan of their orange flavored chicken. I have never gotten my order and been disappointed. It always comes in a clean and neat paper bag that's stapled up and they always include the steamed white rice, egg rolls and fortune cookies. The girl that takes my order is always sweet and nice. When I got for pick-up or take-out, they're courteous and fast as well but if she's on her cellphone and not really paying attention to me as I wait to give her my order, I get a little annoyed but that's because I'm impatient. Very delicious wontons and fried dumplings! I feel like a lot of places cannot get wontons right or skimp on the filling, but not here. Chicken chow mein was very good as well. When you dine in, they bring a plate of fresh fruit out at the end of your meal, which is a nice touch. I thought all of the food came out fast and there was always someone there to refill water. This is seriously the best Chinese food that I have ever had. It's not greasy and cheap tasting like most Chinese restaurants and you don't feel sick to your stomach after eating here. The staff is wonderful! Everyone is so nice, they keep your water full, and the wait isn't bad at all. Yes, they are a little more expensive than other places but it is worth it. I've only been once for the buffet but it was excellent. My husband and I usually go once a week when we are at the creepy laundry mat next door. Everything I've ordered has been fantastic. The pineapple duck, ginger bok choy with chicken, sesame chicken, and everything I've stolen off my husband's plate is AWESOME. Even the fried rice is amazing. After dining at this restaurant for over 20 years, while it was under different owners and management, my family and our friends are thoroughly disappointed in the quality of the food. Under the new owners, apparently the customer in never right. When a landmark in Denver can deteriorate in such a short time as Mings has, we just felt it is time to let the diners at this restaurant know the truth. The quality of the food is subpar. They now use cheap cuts of meat and scraps compared to some of the finest quality they used to use. While the wait staff is efficient, kind and helpful, the management and hostess are rude to their customers and don't care if you are satisfied or return. Don't waste your time or money at this place, many other Chinese restaurants in Denver would love to have you. read more

Was in Glendale/Denver for work this past weekend and stayed at the Hyatt Place across the street. I ordered from Ming's and it was just ok. I asked for my Cashew chicken to be made spicy and it wasn't. Not even a hint of spice. Also asked for chopsticks which were not provided. Food wasn't the worst I've had but was nothing special. If this is good Chinese food in Denver then nobody has been to NYC and had the chinese food there. read more

I was amazed by their good Chinese food out in Colorado ....didn't expect it at all.... Honestly, I was "forced" to have Chinese food that day ... and this place is just right across the street from my b-f's office.... so we walked in... Beef Chow Fun and Pork Fried rice were authentic.... not American style at all!!! The Beef Chow Fun tasted exactly what you can get in HongKong! Dumplings were home-made.... you could tell by the veggie inside.... very fresh.... Very impressed!!! Most important ... bathroom was clean!!! lol read more

Terrible experience, new management has really let things slide. We had been eating here for ten years but will not be returning. The BBQ ribs were extremely fatty and the few meat portions were overcooked and dried out. Underneath the ribs were some disgusting wilted pieces of lettuce. The ribs were served with an unappealing bright orange sauce. The shrimp chow fun (for which we paid extra) inexplicably had lots of chicken in it. The noodles and sauce were not combined properly so the middle of the dish had a clump of plain noodles. The pad thai had an oddly sweet taste. read more

I used to love this place! I brought my girlfriend here for lunch and the food is very average. The worst part was the owner who stood at a table the entire time we had dinner just talking to an older couple. That wouldn't be so annoying if she wasn't so loud. You could literally hear her entire conversation from any part of the restaurant. I left with a headache and an unsatisfied stomach. She should just stay home, she would Be much more useful there. The food was delicious, not a doubt about that. However service on the other hand could use some major improvement. We sat down after waiting about 15 or so minutes, which was fine. We were served water right away, however we requested straws for the water that took over a half hour to show up. After that, we requested a water refill that took about a half hour. When appetizers were served we had request a knife that didn't show up until the meals were served so needless to say fingers were used for the appetizers. I understand the language barrier but when getting served refills on our water that took 30 minutes, it was then spilt by the waitress all over my boss's foot. Definitely not the best experience! I used to be fortunate enough to live within Ming's small delivery area. I had been eating food from Ming's on a regular basis 3 1/2 years. I was rarely disappointed and I miss living in their delivery area. The cheese wontons, scallion beef, curry chicken, pork fried rice, sesame beef & slippery chicken are some of my favorites. Always rich in flavor and always a treat. This isn't your average delivery Chinese, I highly recommend ordering out, or dining in at their beautiful restaurant. minus one star for the one-step-up-from-mall-chinese food. the 'fried' rice is cheap instant rice tossed in grease, with no additives. the noodles are clumpy and a little more than al-dente. the meat is mysterious. the food is relatively flavorless overall and of low quality. minus one star for my delivery taking more than an hour when i'm located three minutes away. minus one star for delivering me the wrong food, cold, after waiting an hour for it. minus one star for the crappy attitude i received overall about it. "well, we're busy: you'll just have to wait." what? i've been waiting for an hour already. why don't you hire another delivery guy if you're that busy? oh, wait. Four of us there for dinner Thursday. We've all eaten there before, for lunch and dinner. Awaiting our order, we watched a cockroach crawl across the tablecloth. Waiter grabbed it with a napkin and removed it. We spoke with on-duty manager, who told us we could go somewhere else! Said they treat for roaches every 2 weeks, but there was nothing she could do! Ho hum. I had lunch here. I am not a buffet fan but they have a nice spread. I also avoid mass carbs and sugar so that eliminates most of their dishes for me. The food is ok, the place is ok. Definitely Delicious. Ive ordered the Lemon Chicken which is a nice portion and the eggrolls. They are friendly when you call in your order and its done quickly. So a couple weeks ago I was sitting in a parking lot checking Yelp for someplace new to eat nearby. Up popped this place. In fact, I was already sitting in their parking lot at the time so I figured 'wth?'. I was running late and in a bit of a hurry, so I decided to just go with the lunch buffet. In a nutshell, most of what I had was not bad but being a rather small buffet, there really wasn't a lot for me to choose from. I rarely eat fried food, and when I do it's not going to be from a buffet. There were quite a few fried options, and a couple of the stir frys had crispy deep fried meat, but not as many vegetable and regular stir fried meat dishes to choose from. Anyway, there was a beef and bell pepper dish that was pretty good as well as a chicken and vegetable stir fry dish. There was also a dish with a mixed assortment of vegetables that were just maybe sautéed with very little (if any) sauce that was good on top of the mai fun noodles (or are they sai fun?). So I certainly didn't starve. Was it good enough that I'd come back? No. The main reason I'm giving them '2' instead of '3' starts is for the service. It was fine when I first got there and my drinks were refilled regularly. And my check came out about the time I was finished eating. The problem was when I tried to pay. I put cash on top of my bill on the table (you pay your server) about a minute after it arrived. After about six or seven minutes someone finally picked it up. Then I waited for my change. And waited. After a good ten minutes, I finally got up and went to the front. No one was there. So I waited. And waited until I could finally flag someone down. I asked about my change. There was confusion. Then my server appeared and solved 'the problem'. From the time I put my money on the table til I walked out the door was at least twenty-five minutes! Not exactly the 'quick' lunch I was expecting. Maybe it was an off day for them or they were short of staff, but whatever. That's half and hour I'll never get back and the food wasn't worth the wait. read more

It's good food. I went there for lunch today and had the shark's fin soup, hot and spicy shrimp, and beef w/snow peas. The soup was very good, my first time having it, and I loved it. The hot and spicy shrimp was very mild, some spice to it, but not what I would have expected. And the beef with snow peas were pretty good, though the beef was a little "slimy" so to speak. But still very good spices in it. Though I was disappointed in my take out experience in part because I read other reviews where they were served either water or tea, and the wanton strips? I never recieved, or offered anything like that. Though I did get the wanton strips with my entrees, so I was pleased with that. The other minor disappointment is that they stop doing delivery at 2pm? Wha'ts up with that? I called yesterday at 2:10 and was told that the delivery guy already left for the day. But overall it's good food, but in a way, it's also like any other asian cuisine. I do have to give a thumbs up to this place as far as menu choices go as there is something for everyone. read more

I've been coming to Ming's since I was a kid and I'm 32. It was here before I was born so I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews. Ming's is one of the best and oldest Chinese restaurants in town. Before there was a Yelp or an internet they have been a landmark restaurant. Now granted the original ownership changed and so did some of the food but the new owners reverted back to the original menu (which they should have never changed in the first place) that Ming's has always been known for. I have never ordered Ming's out or had dinner there. What they are best known for is their buffet. Anything else outside of the buffet you're on your own. read more

Delivery was quick.. That was appreciated. I ordered drunken noodles.. Simple because that's what I prefer. I was quite confused when I opened a box of noodles, shrimp and chicken. I called the restaurant thinking I had someone else's order and was informed "that's how we do our drunken noodles.. We've been here a long time" .. Uh what? Some people have unfortunate allergies that could literally kill them. $20 on a meal to throw away... And all I got was a "sorry, I'll tell my manager about that." Went in to try a different place and wow we will not be going back. They must have their recipes for fried rice and egg drop soup confused because the rice only had egg in it (no seasoning whatsoever not even salt) and the soup had all kinds of stuff in it including tofu and cabbage. Then for entrees I got generals tao's chicken and my girlfriend got pork lo mein. The chicken had almost no flavor except the distinct taste of dirt in the unwashed green onions and the pool of sauce on the bottom of the plate. The lo mein had a burned on the grill taste but nothing in the dish was grilled. Oh and the margarita. I know this is a Chinese restaurant but a margarita should not taste like straight up lemon lime gatorade with no tequila. If you like mediocre, flavorless (except maybe dirt) food this is the place for you, if not steer clear. And by the way it's 2020, a 1999 zagat "award" is not relevant anymore and the food clearly shows why that's the most recent "award" they have received. read more

The boyfriend and I loooove Chinese buffets for a nice, filling lunch on a weekend. We went last Sunday for the lunch buffet and it was lovely. The restaurant was incredibly crowded, mostly with large groups--always a good sign. The servers and hostess were friendly and managed to hold up well under stress. I loaded my plate with chicken with mushrooms, sesame chicken wings(!) wontons, and got a nice big bowl of hot and sour soup. The food was nice and fresh, with people coming out from the kitchen every so often to dump new food onto the buffet. Though it was very crowded, I had no problems moving around. Other customers were loud, as was the Chinese music blasting from speakers over the buffet. The food was nothing drop-dead amazing, but quite decent and tasty. It's easy to see why so many people crowd into Ming's Dynasty for lunch on a Sunday! read more
