I purchased a new 2009 Cooper S from MINI North Scottsdale. Financing and maintenance all went smoothly and they have always provided a loaner car if the appointment was to take very long. The night before Thanksgiving I blew up my engine on the Tohono O'odham indian reservation on the way to Tucson by overheating it when I was unable to stop safely for over five miles. MINI checked and replaced the thermostat and the engine failed to hold pressure. Although it did not appear to me that MINI was responsible per our agreement my service adviser, Matt, contacted MINI of North America and they agreed to replace the engine free of charge to me. In addition they stood by their repair by warrantying the engine for an additional two years from the date of the repair even though I didn't have to pay for it. I am also skeptical of auto repair schemes that people experience but I have never dealt with a dealer and a car company that will stand behind their autos they way that they have done for me. I would rate them a ten if I could. I would recommend them to a family member or a friend without hesitation. By the way, my car is almost five years old! When I returned the beautiful red MINI convertible loaner and told them that I had forgotten to fill the tank the assistant insisted that they would take care of it rather than giving me directions to a gas station. It has taken a while because of my experiences at other dealers but I really do trust them to tell me the truth and to do the right thing. read more

Bought a used car (not a Mini) from this dealership last year. Nice atmosphere, easy to work with and negotiate, respectful and helpful. Deal was done in less than an hour, and the car was washed and kept inside their showroom because it rained that day and I was picking the car up near closing time. Awesome! Only reason this isn't 5 stars is because I mentioned the car possibly needing a couple new tires, and they said it passed their inspection. I needed to replace them within a year due more to age than wear but I guess at the time they were acceptable. Love the 2011 Buick Regal I got from them and they were a pleasure to do business with! read more

In one word - amazing! Scheduled my service on-line (great feature) - on arrival Jonathan B. was prepared and took care of me very quickly. He noted a couple "cosmetic" items that needed attention and took care of those as well. I bought my first mini in Tempe and when I wanted to upgrade to a Countryman 6 months later, Tempe wanted me to pay more than $3500 than Scottsdale did. What a joke but thank goodness for James Kelly at North Scottsdale. He was awesome to work with and I felt really comfortable with him. After working in car dealerships all during college, I know the "car dealer" types and was impressed when I got the opposite with James. Great service and very helpful staff. David sold my husband and I our first Mini and I love it. Its so fun to bee bop around town in and I can still have enough room in the boot for my Costco runs. That aside, the shopping experience was a no hassle game. Easy as it gets and zero pressure. We went in on 05/31/16 (Memorial Day) and it was rather busy. Things did get backed up for a bit with finance, but to make it a little better, they bought pizza a wings for all the customers. I recently had my Mini Countryman into Mini of N. Scottsdale for warranty work, and had Matt Martin as my SA. I had purchased my car out of state prior to moving to the Phoenix area, and wondered if this would affect my service relationship - thankfully, no. Matt got me into the schedule queue to fit my timing, the team took my car in quickly on arrival, and the fixes (which were a defective chrome strip that is needed on all Countryman models) were done right at the predicted 45 minute mark. Smooth as silk, the waiting area was comfortable and Mini dealerships are always interesting, so the time flew by and I was very happy with the entire process. Highly recommended. read more

This is the best dealership I have ever worked with. I have had a Cadillac for years and dealt with the local Cadillac dealerships and have never been treated as well as at North Scottsdale Mini. Our sales rep worked hard to get the deal we wanted and continuously stayed in touch with us to make sure everything was going well with the car. The service department was so easy to work with. I have been having the worst luck with my 2009 MINI S Convertible...I hesitated bringing it to the dealership for service because I was worried it was going to be expensive...it's not cheap by any means, but the service and knowledge of the service writer and technician is worth every penny. They worked with me and my budget and made the repairs that were necessary and advised what will need to be next so I can prepare for the cost of the next repair. I hate reading that anyone had a less-than-stellar experience at Mini North Scottsdale because my experience with their service department couldn't have been more exceptional. It was so good that I think anyone reading this will think I'm telling a fairy tale. In fact, I don't know how they will be able to top even themselves when I go back. With just under 60K on the odometer my car threw a check engine light. As I had recently put to bed a 193k mini that started with check engine light, I was sick with disappointment that this relatively new car was already giving me grief. The service department got me in within 30 minutes of calling. Jonathon Bauknecht, my service advisor, sat with me and listened and answered all of my questions. We were having a conversation. He had another customer eager to talk to him, but he didn't let it distract his time with me. He got me into a fantastic loaner car--a top-of-the-line 2015 Mini Hardtop--for the weekend. When he called on Monday, as promised, he told me the news. A fairly pricey item was bad and needed to be replaced ("Crap! How? Why?") However, even though my car was just out of warranty he was able to get that item replaced for $0. I didn't even have to pay the $135 diagnostic fee, nor the labor. Unbelievable! I asked him to flush my cooling system. He quoted me a price that was competitive to non-dealership garages and told me the car would be ready soon. He left me a message when it was ready (that afternoon as as promised), and told me that the work was less than he had quoted. ("What the...? Less? That never happens!"). Just terrifically unexpected. I showed up after the service department had closed. I later found out Jonathon had waited for my arrival so he could see me off personally, but I ended up coming later than I said I would. The guy who checked me in discovered that I still needed to pay my bill, but unfortunately nobody was there that could authorize my payment. Sensing it might be an inconvenience to not leave with my car he found someone who okay'd letting me leave without paying. They would send me a payment link the next day via email. This means they trusted me to conclude my business via online payment the next day. Wow! Jonathon followed up with me the next day suggesting that I keep his mobile phone number handy so if anything came up I could text him or give him a call if I needed it. Then on Friday (four days later) he texted me a personal message to check in on me and the car. Completely exceptional and unexpected. I have absolutely no reason whatsoever to not recommend the service department at Mini North Scottsdale, and as long as Jonathon Bauknecht is a service advisor I'll want him to be mine. I believe that Mini North Scottsdale service works with integrity, fairness and kindness. I feel like they are my partner for my Mini motoring. I truly hope that your experience will be just as favorable. read more

I purchased my car out of state and have only used the service department at this dealership. I can honestly say that they have always been very good to me. My car has had a few issues but the service people here have always been great to work with. Unlike some of the other reviews that I have read, I have always received prompt, courteous service, the people have all been very friendly and lately they have started emailing me with the information regarding the work being done, which for me is great. The tech even emailed me some digital photos to help explain some damage that they found to the underside of my vehicle. Very helpful. Excellent service experience. Was able to get appointment when was the most convenient, for me !!! (which is amazing). Dropping off my Mini was quick, easy and the loaner was waiting. Probably took ten minutes. My concern was addressed and when I picked the car, a few days later, the car was cleaned beautifully and the issue I had, resolved. He took his time explaining all the features the Mini had to offer and never rushed me even though I told him upfront that I just came in for a test drive and to get more information and would not be purchasing today. After the test drive I told him I would like to find out about purchasing the car.There were no high pressure "sales tactics" that normally go with buying a car and he worked out a GREAT deal for me. So we were looking at trading in my wife's car and geting a new mini. We had been working with the sales rep off and on for a while (Drew) but they don't have much in the way of inventory for the model we're looking at. On a positive note, he did do some research and find the model we wanted that was destined for another dealership. but that's where the good service ended. We get to the dealership and start to look into the trade-in value for my wife's vehicle. Now this is always a sore spot with dealerships because they typically find the lowest price possible, then offer you a few grand less, even if the lowest price is an auction price. In our case, the offer he gave us was way too low, several thousand dollars below what other comparble vehicles in the area were selling for. Now I understand it's a business and would be dumb to think they shouldn't try to maximize their profits. But there's a right way to do it. He shot us a low number in which we declined. he came back and offered us about 1500 more for the trade, but I noticed he added more than than amount to what we'd need to trade in. Nice move slapstick. I'd rather you just give me a firm offer than try to pull a fast one. I guess since they're one of not many Mini dealers in the area, he felt he could get away with it or I wouldn't notice it? We ended up leaving after that stunt and are going to purchase the vehicle from another dealer. I'd walk away or just pay super close attention to the numbers when working wiht this dealership. I would give zero stars if I could but I cannot. I had the worst service experience of my life today at this location thanks to service manager, Matt Martin. I bought my Mini Cooper two years ago and have loved it. Before today I would have never even have thought about owning another car, but now I cannot wait to sell the car and never step foot into this dealership again. My gauges in my car stopped working so I made an appointment and went down to see what the problem was. Everyone was very nice to me until they found out I had a breathalyzer in my car. As soon as that was known everyone started treating me like a piece of crap. Matt called me into his office and explained to me that to even look at my car it would be $135. That's not to fix it, that was just to look at it. I asked why and he told me it was because I had a breathalyzer in my car. I asked him how that made sense and he said, "I've worked here for four and a half years and I know it is because of your breathalyzer." I said what if it isn't and he said it was. I said that was ridiculous to charge me $135 just to have someone look at it because there is a breathalyzer in it. He said, and I quote, "It's not my fault you have a breathalyzer." I have never been so mortified in my life. How dare someone from your business talk to me that way when I give you guys money every month. Check into Matt's background, I'm sure he's not perfect like he was claiming to be. Because of his comment I sat outside and I cried. I have never been so disrespected in my life. To make matters worse he came outside to tell me my car was blocking traffic and then made a comment on how he couldn't move it because of my breathalyzer and threw his hands up in the air and walked back inside. I felt like a piece of crap sitting there and that's because of YOUR employee. I am a General Manager for a restaurant and if I ever spoke to a customer like that I would be fired. So should he. After waiting there for two hours my car was done. He came and got me, clearly hating my guts, and took me to my car. When I got in my car I said thank you and he didn't say a word. He turned around and walked away. What a jerk. He charged me $99 to fix my car and I want my money back. I have never been so disrespected and humiliated in my life. Funny no one at any other business seems to care I have a breathalyzer in my car. I just looked online to see what I owe on my car and I will be trading it in for a different car at a dealership that respects their customers and provides good service. I will never step foot in that dealership again and I will never purchase another car from you. Oh, and all my wires for my breathalyzer are messed up. If I have to pay to get that fixed I will be sending you the bill. Don't worry, my friends and family already know about my experience with Matt and they are appalled. You just lost a customer that you could have had a life long relationship with. read more
