Regardless of the negative reviews of MINI North Scottsdale you may read, I have had nothing but exceptional service and professionalism in my dealings with them. I highly recommend them for sales and service. We bought a 2011 MINI Cooper S at MNS, and from the start our experience with them has been great. Our sales associate, Brian, was patient and not pushy when I first contacted him for information. He didn't bombard me with "are you going to buy" emails like another dealer (rhymes with "gazda"), even though it was three months until we decided on a MINI. When we visited the dealership, Brian worked with us to answer all our questions and spent (in my opinion) much more time than the usual "do you want to buy a car" I got from dealerships whose names rhyme with "gourd" or "monda". Their selection was pretty good; there were three or four cars we considered buying. We test-drove two cars (both used 2011s) and settled on one. Brian spent the entire afternoon with us. Then again, we didn't have to deal with some of the typical hassles in buying a car: no trade-in, good credit, had a down payment, and did our research including prices for comparably-equipped MINIs. We knew which features and extras we wanted and why. True, MINI is more expensive than other brands, but we knew that going in and felt we were getting my money's worth after three months of research into a dozen different vehicles. We got exactly what we wanted and expected. (By the way, my wife is the accountant type in the family. She was treated with courtesy and respect, and Brian dealt with her directly unlike some sales folks that look at the man for every decision. I saw no evidence of gender bias or pushiness to convince her of things we didn't need.) The purchase process was open, easy to understand, and Brian shared everything with us. We clearly understood the terms and of all the time we spent, probably a half hour was actual "buy the car" time. Service is exceptional. The service team is top notch, and I have no reason to complain. There was an issue with the air conditioning in the car we bought, and it was fixed promptly and to my satisfaction before we even let the dealership. It's worked fine since. One repair to sunroof trim was not to my satisfaction, and it was corrected immediately without making me wait for someone else's job to be finished. I always have a loaner and my car is clean and ready for me when promised. The car runs like new and is impeccably maintained by the team at MNS. Devin is an incredible service adviser. He doesn't push unneeded services and tells me what's up when I ask questions about things I could take care of myself if I wished. Devin also worked with me on a non-warranty repair that he easily could have said "your problem, pay up"... but that small courtesy cemented this customer's loyalty. I highly recommend MINI North Scottsdale to anyone looking to buy a new or used MINI. If you do your research and are prepared (which everyone should do when spending this kind of money!), you won't go wrong at MINI North Scottsdale. read more

I was vacationing in the Phoenix area with my 2005 Mini. Your first thoughts might be dismissive, because of the age of this car, but I ordered it new from the factory to my specifications and it's the cleanest, sweetest 2005 you could ever hope to see with only 36,000 miles, despite being nine years old. On a Friday I noticed the clutch grabbing and then later in the day, a black puddle under my car; not what you want to deal with when you're away from home, that's for sure. I called Mini of North Scottsdale with a lot of trepidation. I'm a woman, traveling alone, some unknown car issues, are they going to take advantage of me? Ugh! They suggested I bring my car in first thing on Saturday morning. They said up front that they don't normally deal with major issues on Saturday but promised to at least look at it. I was prepared to camp out, waiting for them to have a look and give me bad news. I was prepared to call my daughter and have her pick me up so they could work on it, but they offered me a loaner; a new Countryman with 4,000 miles. The only thing they asked was that I fill it with fuel before I brought it back. What a pleasant surprise and not at all what I was expecting! AJ called me a couple hours later and said there wasn't a thing wrong with my clutch or transmission, (Yay! That was my fear.) the problem was a collapsed motor mount. He said they probably wouldn't have time to work on it but would for sure get to it on Monday, but as I had a loaner what did I care? AJ called again a couple hours later and said my car was done and ready for me to pick up! How's THAT for service?! I had lovingly washed and towel dried my car the day before I took it in, but when I picked it up, Mini of North Scottsdale had vacuumed it and blackened the tires and it looked like new! I couldn't be happier with the service, my experience, and the people in general. They didn't tell me there was something major wrong with my car when there wasn't, and or gouge me on the cost. I'm not sure what all the bashing is about. I've come here many times for service on my MINI S JCW and they have always been very courteous and attentive to all my questions and issues. My wife has not had any issues either with her S Convertible. Scheduled maintenance has been always done promptly and professionaly. Justin was great while he was there. Now Matt takes care of us and he goes out of his way to accomodate our schedules to get us out on time. On busy weekends or Fridays it can get hectic and hard to get status as often as you like, you just have to be persistent. They are good about calling your cell to discuss any issues they found or tell you it's ready to pick up on time. The loaner cars used to cost $10 but now they are free. Just bring your Proof of Insurance and Driver's License. If you get there early enough, you should be able to get a MINI to drive. Always impressed by their showroom and waiting area, especially that capucccino machine. The history on our cars have always been easy to look up though they can get easily confused when husband and wife owns a similar car. However, they do not seem to share data with other MINI service centers like MINI of Tempe, which I thought was odd. Though the washings are free and you can specify a machine or hand wash, it's best to refuse it altogether if you want to get out any time soon. There is always a backup on car washings and they don't clean up the drips very well anyway. I suggest making your appointment a week or two in advance and make it as early as possible. Tell them each item you need serviced or checked so they can reserve the time. Try to avoid any major work on Saturdays. read more

Dana was amazing! Where do I begin? I just went through the process of buying a new car with my mom at Nissan. It was so simple, "buy a car". This process took 5 1/2 hours to buy a car. My turn now, I go to Mini Scottsdale and buy my car. The whole process from start to finish took less than 2-hours. A big round of applause to Mini Scottsdale! Nissan needs to get a grip and learn how to adapt. Dana gave my partner and I the best sales experience we could ever ask for. Dana was honest, friendly and professional. She was absolutely refreshing to deal with. During this process of buying our Mini Countryman S which I'm proud to say I was listening and watching the whole dealership. I must state that the other sales team was consistent with Dana by being honest, friendly and professional. I noticed one disgruntle customer but she was just miserable to be there. The salesman was doing everything to make a bad situation a good one. The customer was simply just a negative person and came in with expectations to buy a new Mini at half the price....seriously?! My point is that the salesman was pleasant and courteous to the 1/2 price customer and tried to help and explain that Mini couldn't go that low. My experience with working with Dana and watching the sales team was great. It's hard to find good and realistic people that sell cars. I have been a MINI owner forever and have been to many MINI dealerships in different states for different reasons. I HAD TO WRITE this review because I HAVE NEVER had better service IN MY LIFE!!! Michael Angermeier, my Service Manager, went above and beyond. He answered every question, returned my calls immediately and worked on every issue I needed with such JOY and enthusiasm. Seriously he made me feel like I was the only client he had to take care of yesterday. During my video the tech pointed out a bubble in my tire. They were fairly new and the under warranty. MINI didn't carry the specific tire. When I voiced my concern about driving it to my tire shop and worried I'd have a blow out he called his suppliers and tried to find me the exact Tire to swap it out. He didn't have any luck but was calling me and trying to help me sort it out. Just the fact that he genuinely cared was refreshing. When he walked me out to my car he was so helpful and concerned about my tire. He even took out the old mats that were left behind when the new ones were put in. And all I did was I mentioned to him that I will just throw them away, what does he do? He jumps to the back seat and says I'll do that for you. No problem at all!!! And threw them out for me. I am beyond blown away at the entire experience and it was BY far my best experience of any MINI service I have ever had done. He is truly amazing. Not sure who waited on some of those who submitted those negative reviews, but I've always had a great experience at MINI North Scottsdale. From the purchase, which did take about two and a half hours, to the service department over the past three years. During the purchase I did have to fill out paperwork, though I don't think it was a credit application. But then, it has been three years since the purchase of my MINI Clubman S. I traded in my wife's 10 year-old Jaguar XK8 and paid the balance with a Bank of America cashier's check. No questions asked. Other than sitting with a finance manager to select a couple of additional options, like the latest heat-resistant, tinted glass technology, I drove home as soon as they completed their paperwork and taped in the temporary license & registration. I recently went in for a valve gasket replacement. It was covered under warranty. They loaned me a new MINI with about 260 miles on it, with no charge and a full tank of gas. Their only request was my promise to fill it with gas before I returned it. They called three hours later to notify me that the car was ready for pickup. The work was done, the car was vacuumed & washed and waiting in space #5. And, there was no charge. All extremely friendly, easy and efficient. I have been a mini cooper owner since 2007 and I bought my first Mini at Mini North Scottsdale. My experience with MINI North Scottsdale is always great. They offer quality/cool cars, excellent services and the staff is always knowledgeable and polite. When I wanted to trade in my Mini Cooper 2007 convertible to a Mini 2012 Club man at Sept 2011, due to the arrival of my second son, I was disappointed by the estimate of trade in value for the 2007 convertible from another MINI dealer. It was way below our expectation. We got a fast and reasonable estimate from MINI Scottsdale and we used this new quote to beat that offered by the other dealer, we got the ideal trade-in price we want. Although we did not do the trade in with Mini North Scottsdale, we still appreciate the help they offered to us. They also provide a lot of free services. By free, I mean really free. In Feb, 2012. They offered free tire rotation service and a full service car wash for only 99 cents (how could someone beat this price). During visit, I even got a loaner car so that I can do shopping during the time they serviced my car. I hope that Mini North Scottsdale could keep up the good work and I will definitely visit them more and more ;-) read more

I was looking for a new Mini. Mini North Scottsdale had a number of offerings at what apeared to be a good price. It wasn't until I sat down to do the paperwork where I noticed a $987 charge for "Aftermarkets." It is a few items the dealer adds to the car, but doesn't reflect it in the price, and then tries to avoid telling you until you sit down to go through things. Apparently there is some fine print somewhere that says the price online, the price on the car is not the real price. Whatever. It's a sneaky tactic. I choose not to do business with companies that try to pull stuff like this, legal or not. They offered to remove the items. FIne I said, but then you need to deduct the $987 off the price. They tried to slip me some paperwork that had the items removed, but the cost of the vehicle remained the same. Forget it. On to another dealership that doesn't play these games. The sales manager should be fired. Games like this will only come back to hurt them in the future. If I tried to pull stunts like this in my business, I wouldn't have any business. My wife and I both have MINIs, which were purchased new back in 2010 and 2011 at this location. Both MINIs also receive routine, or unscheduled maintenance at this location. Our Service-Advisor (Jonathon) has been tried-tested & proven... A key component of trust between us and the MINI product over the years. This includes the Service Manager (Sean); both are fountains of experience, knowledge and professionalism; Sean manages a team of talented technicians I trust to work on our vehicles. His approachable style, and skills, help reinforce an over-all sense of comfort and satisfaction. This speaks volumes because I am far from a technical push-over, or an automotive easy sell... Yes, I am very leery about car dealerships. I will firmly say, for long-term value, "it pays" to have one's MINI maintained here! This is our 'one-stop shop' for both of our older MINIs. The bottom line: (OEM) MINI Service truly stands behind their product. Frankly, it' doesn't get any better than this. So, I'd strongly suggest to do your part and stay on top of your MINI service!! read more

Jonathan Bauknecht is my service writer at MINI North Scottsdale and he is absolutely unparalleled! I had scheduled a service appointment and was unable to accept the generous offer of a loaner vehicle as I start a new job this week and my schedule won't accommodate returning the loaner another day. I am also feeling under the weather. Not only is Jonathon accommodating my schedule and providing excellent service and care for my vehicle, he has gone above and beyond to make sure I am comfortable while I wait. He made me the most delicious tea since I am not feeling well and gave me a complimentary cafe coupon for a free lunch and beverage. I truly feel cared for and can't express my gratitude enough. I am floored by Jonathon's continued excellence and I am so thankful for him. I recommend him to any and all MINI owners. I recently bought a used car at Mini North Scottsdale. I called to see if the car was still available and made an appt to come take a test drive. When I arrived they welcomed me and said they were expecting me. James the Mgr came out to welcome me and introduce me to my Motoring Advisor, David. Nice touch. He had the keys in his hand and was ready to show me the car. I found a few imperfections in the paint, so David discussed a discount with James. David was professional, pleasant and sincere (no pressure at all). I signed all of the documents with Ashley. She was also very pleasant when I declined GAP ins and a warranty. Most dealerships will not allow you to leave without buying those. You get beat up and have bruises when you leave. David also took the time to show me all of the features on the dash. Fast paperwork process - I was out of the dealership in an hour. David, Ashley and James were AMAZING to work with. This was such a pleasant experience. Before writing my review I read some of the others posted, and I must say I have had a different experience than many of those people. From the beginning my experiences have been positive. Starting with Paul Diedrichs who answered my million and one questions calmly and thoroughly, who worked through their inventory and incoming inventory to find the vehicle perfect for me, who introduced me to my new service advisor, and who set up all the little gadgets and settings on my new vehicle. One could not ask for more. Since purchasing my mini I have been thrilled with the car and my one service department experience was pretty much positive all the way. Making the appointment on-line was a snap and my service advisor, Devin Ferrer, handled everything well. Unfortunately there wasn't a loaner car at the time but the rental car was provided without cost. When I went to pick up my car, it was ready and beautifully washed and vacuumed. I recently had my car at MINI North Scottsdale for servicing. I purchased it used from a local used car dealership, and there were many things wrong with it that were not disclosed. MINI North Scottsdale did a thorough check of my car, and kept me informed as to what repairs were necessary, what repairs could be done in the future, and gave me a great discounted price for a new turbo for the engine as well as some maintenance issues not done by the used car dealership. They were helpful, informative, and kept me in the loop all the way from the beginning to the end. I was given a loaner car for a week while the car was being worked on, and I was able to keep the loaner until my pay day, when I was able to pick up my car. I would recommend this service department to anyone, it was such a positive experience after the nightmare I had with the used car dealership. I also want to praise Devin, my service contact. What an experience! My car buying experience at MINI of North Scottsdale was very pleasant. Drew not only met my needs but exceeded my expectations in so many ways for the purchase of my MINI JCW. Drew was straight forward, non-pressured, and honest. He made sure my MINI was personalized to my specifications and that all the numbers were correct and discounts were applied correctly.
