WOW, in a word. We haven't had Italian this good since we were in Italy; it's literally that good! The service was fantastic, the space itself is clean and quaint, and the bathrooms were also well kept. It's a lot of little things like the nice dishes, the decor and the fact this place does not have that pretentious vibe that others have that makes this place so inviting. Now, with that praise out of the way... let's talk about the food!! My goodness, I have been chasing some authentic Italian in Oklahoma for some time now and this place is it! The Alfredo sauce is creamy and buttery, just the best blend of flavors that gives it that homemade taste. It rivals Alfredo we had in Venice and that's soooo refreshing. The baked dishes are rich and zesty, the bread is warm and fresh made, what more can you ask for? Oh, how about some of the best and fluffiest Tiramisu we've ever had. Last but not least, their pizza is AMAZING. It seems like a lot of places throw pizza's together haphazardly these days, letting their pizza oven be the thing that's supposed to wow you, but these pizzas also pack flavor. The cheese pull is beautiful. Overall, I can't rave enough. We will certainly be back, and we implore you to come visit. We were looking for Italian that was quick, within a reasonable distance from home, and authentic or as close as possible. My husband found Mio, and we were hooked from the first bite! The food is always fresh, and reasonably priced with incredibly generous portions. We haven't dined in, but anytime we pick it up, service has always been great. Good food, clean restaurant, pleasant and quick service. We were referred by a friend. Got the baked pasta sampler. It's only enough for two if you split it with a salad. There's a small piece of lasagna, manicotti, and a large cheese ravioli. Simple, nothing fancy but it tasted like homemade marinara sauce. To me, that's a win! Also had the stuffed mushroom appetizer in lobster pink sauce. So good. Plenty of sauce to dip your complimentary rolls in. Rolls were light and airy and brushed with herb butter. The star of our lunch was the Mio Frutti De Mare (mussels, shrimp, calamari, fresh herbs in white wine light tomato sauce over linguine pasta). My wife especially loved this dish. It was light but she could taste some butter which brought the dish together, giving it a velvety sauce. We wish it had more seafood but that's just us "wishing" to have meat in every bite. We tried Mio one night when we were just roaming around, trying to find something new/different. What a happy accident that we ended up on this side of town. I can't tell you how excited I am to visit a place that makes everything fresh. I'm so over restaurants that just warm up frozen food. I work hard for my money and don't want to spend it on rubbery junk. Mio is family owned and operated, which is so nice to see, and you can tell that they're all invested in the restaurant's success. They treat their customers well and they provide each patron with an authentic experience. We've been twice so far and had great meals each time. I love the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo and the Bruschetta. My son absolutely will not eat tomatoes and we had him try the Bruschetta, just as a test. He LOVED it! We have to divvy up the appetizer when it comes out, just so my husband and I can actually have some lol. It's his new favorite. My son and husband also love the Cheese Tortellini. It's their go-to entree. For dessert, I've tried the Lemoncello cake and a Cannoli. The Lemoncello is great; a really nice treat. I love the lemon flavor and it's really moist. I'm not a huge fan of cannolis in general, but they gave me one for my birthday and, I have to say, it's probably the best one that I've ever had. The shell wasn't hard or burnt, like it is at some places, and it wasn't over the top with sweetness, which was perfect! Mio has excellent service, great food and the dining room and restrooms are clean. I have zero complaints and look forward to our next visit. Definitely give Mio Italian Kitchen a try. Excited to have a new Italian restaurant to try! We ordered the shrimp scampi, chicken fettuccini and a meatball dish. All had good flavors! The calamari was a bit too chewy, in my opinion. For the bread, (I love my carbs!) I prefer more of a French or ciabatta type bread, but it was still good. I genuinely do not understand the rave reviews of this place, and I'm starting to think that Oklahomans don't understand seasoning. We drove all the way out to Edmond to give this place a whirl bc everyone says it's so good. We start with a bottle of wine, $35 for Malbec not too bad. They start you off with little Rhodes dinner roles, nothing to write home about. We ordered the bruschetta. The food does come out really fast but this is where it all ends for me. There's just no flavor. I couldn't taste any basil or garlic or salt even. She had the chicken korma and I had the eggplant Florentine. Again, zero flavor. It tasted like nothing. The sauce was bland, like ok what am I eating here? It could've been anything. So I try her chicken korma. It's supposed to be Alfredo. You can tell that this is jar Alfredo, 100%. It was also not good. I was so disappointed. I feel like I might as well have been served plain white bread, that's about how top the seasoning and flavors were of the food. But I guess maybe I was expecting Tom much from a restaurant in a strip mall in Edmond, you can't get more basic than that. I mean, how do you cook food that doesn't actually taste like anything? No pepper, no salt, no garlic, no oregano, no basil, no anything that would make you think "I'm eating Italian food." My meal was the Mio Trio and it was comprised of fettuccine alfredo, chicken parm, and lasagna. Y'all...it hit the holy trinity! As an adult, I tend not to ever order fettuccine alfredo and leave that to my kids but let me tell y'all that I was so happy to have had it! I will never not order that when going in the future! Everything was so perfectly cooked and seasoned. I did not need to touch the salt and pepper, or parm cheese on the table. It was PERFECT. My daughter got the chicken parm and spaghetti dish and let me just say that it was essentially enough for 2-3 meals. I've been looking for a good value Italian restaurant that taste good for a long time. What I'm saying is spaghetti is not fancy and should not cost a lot of money. Some other restaurants that I've tried over many years have had good food, but some are way over priced for what they give you serving size wise or just not good in some instances. This place is had what I was looking for spaghetti with Italian sausage and garlic bread for $13.99 that was very good in Flavor. My friend that I met here said he is going to need to take his wife here because he also was impressed with the service how fast the food came out. He got the chicken Parmesan and he loved it. Had Mio delivered. I've been wanting to try it for some time now, but we're always in a rush when we're in the area. I'm bummed we waited now. My husband and I shared the Mio Trio, which has chicken Parmesan, lasagna, and fettuccine Alfredo. The teen ordered the Meat Lovers Pizza. The Mio Trio was YUMMO. My hubs is not as big a fan of most lasagnas, but I basically judge Italian-American on it. It was good. Not too spicy. Rich sauce. Soft without being mushy. Even DH liked it. The teen wasn't as big a fan, but his experience is with Stouffer's, so that's probably my fault. The chicken Parm was so good. The chicken was crispy and juicy. No weird rubbery texture you get from some places. Even delivered, it was fresh and hot. The fettuccine was good too. I probably would have preferred a little more salt or butter just to pump it up a bit. I didn't add any. It was creamy and hot. A good accompaniment to the rich chicken and lasagna portions. The pizza was okay. Nothing we would seek out, but I would eat it if it showed up on my doorstep. The teen wasn't a fan, so the hubs and I had leftovers the next day.
