Mio Nonno is the best little Italian restaurant in Collin County! The Chicken Parmigiana is out of this world good! Everything we've ever ordered on the menu has been fantastic. Pollo Parmigiana was excellent. Wife had lasagna and it was good. However, for us, the Menu was very limited. No meatballs, ziti, manicotti, marsala dishes, dinner salads, or dinner rolls. read more

This is the worst restaurant that I have ever been to around Plano in terms of service! Had I known that they will not seat you unless all parties are physically there at once, I would have never decided to go there, especially with two kids, 4 and 2 years old. I was there already for half an hour and my younger son was getting fussy. I took him outside in this zero degree temperature three times but every time we come back inside, the receptionist would keep repeating the 'no seating policy' like a parrot! Since my wife was running late, we left after 45 minutes. I am NEVER going to this restaurant EVER again. How can this place say it's family friendly with this policy and attitude. Maybe they have enough business that they don't care about small family stopping by for a dinner. Ruined the entire night! read more

The first time we went to this place everything was great so we decided to go again. Food was just okay, had the lobster ravioli and the first time it was sweet and this time just tasted fishy. Our waitress was nice but the girl that served our food was down right rude. We asked her to remove a candle because we had a child with us and she gave us a dirty look before she grabbed it off the table. As we were leaving she ran right into me and didn't even say anything. With all the restaurants in this area, I'd rather spend it at one whose food is consistent and staff actually want to be there. read more

It takes a lot to impress two east coast natives, since most Texas Italian is total garbage. The wood oven pizza is delicious and surprisingly light and the pasta with vodka sauce is delicious (but no joke when it comes to spice!). Staff are very friendly and personable as well, skillful bartender helps to complete the experience. Great food, we usually do take out. Haven't tried any of their pizzas, but the pastas and salads are great. They also make amazing homemade bread that almost looks like pita bread. It's a small space and usually packed. read more

I agree with someone commenting about take-out. Not sure why but the food was sub-par. Reminded me of macaroni grill style food which I'm not a fan. Have to admit between this & Roman cucina-hands down Roman. Had 2 different pasta dishes & was just alright, sauce same thing-watery tasteless & chicken was chewy & rubber like. I have tried the pizza & it's why I came back. Moving into new place and decided to see what is close to get take out and leave me full. Saw the reviews of this place and thought I should try it. I called Mio Nonno tonight at about 6:30pm on a rainy Tuesday night. I ordered the Della Casa salad and the Russia pasta meal... (No Spinach add mushrooms). Nicole was nice, pleasant and helpful on the phone. I was told it would be 20 min till it was ready. I arrived to pick my food up at 6:50pm. I was greeted in about 15 seconds after walking into the crowded restaurant by Nicole who knew I must be here to pick up. She went to check on my dinner and came back and told me it would be ready in 2 min. She rang me up. $7 for salad and $14 for the pasta... Total... $22.74... I gave a $2 tip so came to $24.74. When I got home I opened up the salad. I was a little disappointed in the salad. It was a decent size but had very little to almost no onion on it... The onion were little tiny center of the onion so the rings were less the an inch in diameter. There were a few cherry tomato halves and some croutons. The dressing was very yummy. Only complaint was lack of onion tomato and croutons... And this was not a $7 salad... Maybe 4-$4.50 at best. Felt I got ripped off on the salad....now onto the Russia... It was very good, plenty of pasta and the topping of fried onion slices was great! Good texture and unique. Plenty of chicken also. Perfect dish... I also got a side of taco pie cut "bread" if you will with oil. Was nice, simple, good. Only complaint would be the salad. Way over priced for mostly just lettuce. Would return and try other dishes... Just not the salad unless drops in price. read more

Wonderful, flavorful pastas. They tasted fresh and authentic. Started with fresh free homemade pita and olive oil. Then ordered a calamari and margherita pizza for appetizers. Thin crust pizza was delicious. I'll probably pass on calamari next time just because it was average; portion and taste. Marinara sauce with calamari was nice though. Other table guests love the chicken parm. I ordered the Mario and it had a wonderful sauce and ingredients. Very sad they were out of pappardelle so they had to substituted with fettuccine. Service was great/friendly. Small restaurant but seated right away on Sunday at noon. May have a wait on weekend evenings. Will definitely come back and try other types of pastas. Hope this little business stays popular and more people try it! Highly recommend. read more

Excellent. Normally I think red sauces are a bit bland, but the Alla Moda was fantastic. Bold flavors that were nicely balanced and paired well with the smooth, reasonably priced Pinot. My wife's Russian was also very well done. Server was knowledgable and very friendly. Frankly I was surprised how good this place was and plan to come back regularly. The eggplant parm was amazing!! Although the space is spall and there was an obnoxious bunch of ladies lunching, the staff was friendly and attentive and the décor was warm and welcoming. Great food! This is my husband new favorite place and he lived in Italy for several years. The food has lots of taste and the portions are just tight. They have a musician on Weds and Sunday evenings that is very good. The calamari is perfectly cooked and the dipping sauce is very tasty. read more
