I'm here to be the party pooper, I'll first elude to the fact that 3 stars is just a middle of the road review, not a scathing and overly critical take but rather a tepid "meh". We got a decent sampling of a few of their baked goods and two beverages. Caveats aside, here goes: the Strawberry Matcha quite literally tasted like liquid strawberry jam, I could not pick up on even a hint of matcha and the sweetness was just too much. I took all of 4-5 sips and had to toss the rest, it was the most cloying, sickly sweet drink I've ever had. We also got a Spanish latte and the verdict was the same, just overly sweet to the point that it was undrinkable. Onto the pastries. We got the cranberry cream cheese bagel which was my favorite of the bunch but not something I'd wait in a 40 min line for again. The runner up was the Everything & Egg breakfast croissant; the pastry itself was flaky and delicious but would have been much better warmed, the egg was cold when we bit into it. Below the egg was a nice bed of possibly cream cheese and chives, it was pretty tasty but again not something I would wait in line for. The last two bagels were the Roasted Tomato with Herbs & Cheddar which was reminiscent of a pizza bagel, and the Everything Bagel with Smoked Gouda; same sentiment all around. The texture of the bagels was nice, good yield, perfectly chewy and had a ton of nooks and crannies. The service was great, friendly people that were working very quickly to get everyone's orders filled. They were also churning out fresh baked goods consistently. I know the initial hype of a new place can cause some hiccups but it seems they're doing fine on that front, I just wasn't overly pleased with the product. This place is great! We came here on a Friday morning right after opening around 815am and there was already a line. It took us about 20-25 mins to get to the front. We saw they have umbrellas for the long lines on sunny days but they weren't being used since the line wasn't too long. Once you get to the front you are asked to come inside so that there isn't a line inside so it didn't feel rushed once you made it to the front. The inside is nice and simple. A few tables and chairs but everyone was getting their items to go. We got five food items. My favorite was definitely the jalapeño cheddar. It was so soft and had great flavor and kick if you like something a little spicy. It was even better warmed up at home for a few seconds. My second favorite was the sweet milk crumble. A sweeter bagel but not too sweet and the crumble was a nice touch. I liked the everything and egg breakfast but it didn't stand out too much. I think it needed more pesto. My partner really liked the blueberry but it wasn't for me. And lastly, we were expecting a lot more out of the everything bagel with gouda but it was lacking in flavor. Needed more filling and everything seasoning inside. Lastly we tried the hojicha pillow and were very surprised at how good it was! Good balance of flavors and sweetness. Overall, I would come again. I'm not sure if I'd wait super long to try again but if the line was short. read more

This is one of the best Taiwanese bakeries and the cool thing is they all meatless for vegetarians! The service is very friendly that their staff are always smile. But the only problem is too many people in line that it takes me about 15 minutes to get in the store. Hope they can open more stores in the near future. read more

They've been open for a week now and I've already been here twice! Though I've only been able to visit in the afternoon and pastry selection was limited, this is already one of my new favorite bakeries First time around I came on a Monday a bit after 1pm. Waited about 8 min to order and another 10 min for a drink. They only had two pastries tho the sweet milk and the matcha crumble pastry. Opted for the sweet milk and it was so bomb. I had one from a fresh batch so it was warm. Wasn't too sweet either. Crumbs everywhere. Delicious. It paired so well with my hojicha pillow which had that perfect roasted nutty flavor that remained consistent throughout the drink. Second time around I went the next day Tuesday 12pm. This time waited 38 min to order and 5 min for my drink. Had a mocha crumble pastry. Love how the coffee taste wasn't too strong for my taste buds and it has the same crumbly texture as the sweet milk pastry. Got a matcha which was yummy too. Overall really yummy pastries and drinks and the prices are reasonable. Most pastries are around $6.50 and most drinks are around $7.50. Came on a Friday morning around 11. There was a short line out the door. Located in Old Town Pasadena so parking is best in one of the public lots. The line went fairly fast and they were helpful in explaining the selection of croissants and bagels. I tried the green onion bagel and the cream cheese bread. The consistency of the bagel is not quite the boiled/baked version but more in line with the asian bakery variety. Plenty of green onions and cream cheese though. I like the wide variety and would love to try the croissants next time. Spacious restroom but limited communal table if you plan to dine in. I guess they didn't plan for such success or they would've made the rest room smaller to allow for another table at least. However there are times when we plan ahead and expect have an hour of time then we will. Ask people in line if it's worth it to wait and they all say yes. Taste is good and portion size is decent. seating, well they have 1 large communal table and few side bar chairs last I was there. They seem to have more than dozen employees so can't understand why make people wait such a long time. and another thing is price, instead of listing prices on each item, when ask they tell you a price range??? um, guess you pick what you want and guess how much it is when you get to the register. Suggestion is get a few different item and then slice them and good for sharing! If you order drink you will wait additional time to your hour + long wait in line. The overall vibe of the place is nice, they play good music, and even if it's crowded all the time the service is faster than you'd think. Came right at 8am and there was a small line already formed. We waited an hour before we were able to order. To be frank, I'm not sure why we had to wait that long. There were about 12-15 parties before us too. I'm not sure if that's a marketing tactic to show a line out the door. Even though we were one of the first parties of the day, I was not able to snag a black sesame bagel (this is what I mainly came for x_x). I was also a bummed that they didn't have most of their savory options available. My favorite bagel was the jalapeño cheddar. That is, by far, the best of its kind that I've everrr had. We also ordered: matcha crumble, sweet milk crumble, strawberry shortcake, mango cheese, provolone cheddar, and cinnamon roll. The sweet flavors are best to be enjoyed warmed up. I toasted them at home and they taste a lot better. The bread is fresh and soft. I wish they were warm but if they offered toasting options, I'd most likely have waited 2 hours lol. Duly noted for my next visit, I'd stop by before noon time to test my luck for the savory options then. Hoping next time there will be more flavors available and I can change to 5 stars :D read more

Only here because my husband couldn't stop thinking about this place when a colleague told him about this place. So I dropped him off so he can stand in the 45 min line while I wandered around for street parking. I was skeptical that a Taiwanese place could make a bagel so I probably created my own self fulfilling prophecy because it tasted like an 85 degree bagel in a plastic bag. Soft bread shaped in bagel form. We got the everything bagel with smoked gouda and matcha crumble. Matcha crumble like a bolo bao in matcha form so that was cool. We were eating at the nearby park and met other miopane customers. They shared some of theirs like whipped cream cheese and garlic butter and the whipped cheese and pecans. Those were better than ours but we're talking about a plain bagel with flavored whipped cream cheese. Of course the black sesame was out. Lots of Asian curiosity or Asian pride keeping this hype going. read more

As my kid said - this is an American bakery from Taiwan that's in America. Came here on a Friday morning, and there was a line. The downside is that the morning sun shines right where the line is. The upside is that the line moves somewhat quick, and they give out umbrellas for shade. While it's inconvenient to wait, once you're inside, you do appreciate that they don't allow the interior to get over-crowded like some of the bakeries-of-the-day in Pasadena. We got the almond croissant, chocolate croissant, matcha crumble, sweet milk crumble, tiramisu croissant, and everything egg pesto (I think the official name is 'Everything Egg Breakfast'). Other than the chocolate croissant, they were all really good, especially the egg pesto one and the crumbles. We also got a few drinks. As much as I don't like jumping on bandwagons, I agree with the people who really love this place. It's definitely different, and done well. Service is really positive as well. This was my first time visiting this establishment and the wait wasn't long at all. The line will seem long and that's only because they make you wait at the door and call each party at one time. The place was very clean and orderly. The food signs were visible and everything looked delicious. It was overwhelming in a good way. There were so many options to choose from and they all looked fresh. I totally forgot the gentleman who helped me but he was extremely helpful and polite. He can give a class on customer service. He explained each flavor and his favorites. I settled on the cinnamon roll, the blueberry and tomato/pizza bagel that's not the name my apologies. I also got the Spanish latte. Let's start with the Spanish latte it was delicious, it wasn't too hot the perfect temperature and it was creamy and just the right amount of sweetness with cinnamon. This is a must try if you like coffee it will not disappoint at all. Now onto the cinnamon roll, do not sleep on this. It is beyond delicious. This one should win an award for how delicious it is. I've had many cinnamon rolls in my life and this is top 3 maybe even top 1 and it's huge. I mean it's the size of like 3 cinnamon rolls for only $8.75. If they start selling out of cinnamon rolls I will completely understand. The blueberry bagel is delicious as well. Just the right amount of blueberries and cream cheese. This place is delicious, the few things I had are made perfect. I know some people say places are delicious and they really aren't but this place is all deliciousness and more. Mio Pane did not disappoint! The everything & egg breakfast was tasty and satisfying. For desserts, the strawberry shortcake was soft, fresh, and perfectly sweet. The sweet milk crumble was amazing and definitely a standout. The blueberry croissant was not too bad -- I'll be trying more items next time for sure. My wife had heard all the buzz regarding this new Taiwanese bagel establishment. They are located in Downtown Pasadena off Raymond Ave just next door to Osawa and Bodegon 69. As expected, we encountered a long line at 9:30 am on Sat morning. We waited approximately 1.5 hours. Upon entering we saw a vast array of interesting bagel options. For our first time, we chose three savory and one sweet bagel. Our selections were the following: everything bagel with gouda, burnt onion cream cheese, jalapeno sharp cheddar and sweet milk crumble. For me, I ranked them in the following order: jalapeno, burnt onion, everything and sweet milk. All were really tasty but the first two were unique and offered something I had not had before. While we enjoyed all of them and would return time to time for a treat, this is probably not something that will become weekly. These are pricey bagels and while they are unique, it's just not something we see as being part of our regular routine. That being said, the establishment is clean, friendly and very nice. read more

The first time I checked this place out was good but I had a bad experience the second time. We came before the shop was open at 7:30am to get in line so we could grab some different items we couldn't the first time. Once we were let in, I was noticed that some items were not ready for purchase such as the scallion croissant and black sesame bagel. I asked the employee helping us how long it would take and they said they were unsure and that if they do come out before I pay, I could purchase them. Once I got to the front to pay for all my items, I saw the scallion croissants come out and asked if they'd be ready and the cashier said that it would be another 30mins to an hr. We couldn't wait that long so we decided to just leave but as we were leaving, the croissants came out onto the display for purchase so I asked the employee if we could purchase them even though we paid and got out of line. The employee seemed annoyed and asked me if I had anything up front to pay for before ultimately letting us purchase. We got 2 and asked for another and he said it was 1 per customer, but we had 3 in our party...It felt really unorganized and messy - the trays were reused for everyone's order without cleaning or replacing new ones. The items that were unavailable upon opening just seems like poor production and planning. The first time I went, I had bought extra to have the next day and they were still fresh so this time, so I thought I'd do the same this time. I purchased my bagels on a sunday morning and the next morning, (luckily i cut it open before I bit into it) I found MOLDY cream cheese inside. Not sure if I would return just based off the customer service but was really freaked out that the cream cheese molded so quickly. Miopane is popular for a reason--and mostly lives up to the hype. I came for the bagels and tried most of them (everything, mango, milk cream, onion.). Overall, really solid. Good chew, well-balanced toppings, and clearly better than your average neighborhood bagel. Some were better than others, but nothing disappointed. You also don't need to eat these with cream cheese since most of them are already filled with them. The lines are no joke. Expect a long wait, especially on weekends. It's one of those places where you kind of have to commit once you get in line. Drinks were the weak point for me. The matcha and other beverages are fine, but if you're used to dedicated matcha or specialty coffee shops, these won't blow you away--especially considering the wait. That said, the food carries this place. If you're coming mainly for baked goods and bagels, it's worth it. Just manage expectations on drinks and timing. read more

I stopped by at 1:45pm and there was already a line a there wasn't that much of selection left. as I got closer to the door they told us that they are limiting to 1 type of bagel per person and they have one last batch of butter croissants coming out. when it was finally my turn to order there was only the everything & egg breakfast, butter croissants, blueberry bagel and the milk crumble bagel left so i got one of each to try. Everything was really good. The bagels all have the cream cheese inside already. The blueberry one was a bit on the sweeter side but still good. The bagels were soft and fluffy. I love a gimmick, but unfortunately these stuffed bagels were just okay. The bagels themselves don't have much chew to them-- it's the usual roll-like texture you find at the chain bagel joints. I was so excited to try this place. Went today in the morning and the line was too long. Returned in the afternoon and was able to try some of their bagels. Unfortunately, they had sold out of a lot of things so we got 4 bagels. The strawberry, jalapeño cheddar, triple cheese bagel, and cranberry. They were ok. Just ok. Kinda like glorified 85° so we won't be standing in line for none of that again. What was most annoying is that I could see some items cooling on the racks and not available to order but after we ordered and we were waiting for our coffee they refreshed the case with croissants and other items from those racks. That was silly and there should be a way to notify customers that they are not in fact sold out. Lame. Maybe (big maybe) we will come back to try the sticky bun. read more

Omg the bagels here are amazing!! Textually soft and pillowy with a beautiful sheen! The flavors are so delicious. Even the dessert bagels are jam packed with flavor without being overpowering or overly sweet. This Taiwanese bakery "sniffs in" at 4.5 stars... My wife is Taiwanese and we were staying overnight after meeting up with a friend. We made the mistake of eating our included hotel breakfast and arriving here just before noon. The line was already "sold the #*$% out" with people way around the corner. Thankfully a bakery associate was handing out mini umbrellas to block some sun. I gathered intel (via texts and photos) through the porch windows as the wife stood in line. Thankfully as trays disappeared other trays replaced them. Sometimes with the same item, other times with something else. It seemed random but if you do not see it under glass, it apparently does not exist today. A bunch of extra mini-item signs were piled on top of the display glass, and you have to hope that your item appears and they apply that sign to the new tray. Today I only saw about 95% bagel and 5% croissants. Possibly if you ask, they may have what you are seeking hidden but I kind of doubt it. Here is what I "sniffed" in on: BUTTER CROISSANT: -- moderately buttery but not as much as my faves -- large portion size -- darker in color -- I reheated it at 350F for 5 minutes in my preheated air fryer which restored much of the integrity -- very flaky -- I did a very light honey drizzle over the top after heating to add a touch of sweet -- airy inside -- nice texture inside and out RATING = A- EVERYTHING BAGEL WITH SMOKED GOUDA: -- most of the cheese is on the inside -- I splashed it well with water and wrapped it loosely in foil and did a 3-4-minute air fryer session (pre-heated air fryer) -- I did have to scrape a little cheese off the foil but mostly it did not leak onto the foil -- ample yummy gouda cheese inside -- softer texture bagel than the other one I had -- very tasty -- I would get again RATING = A WHIPPED CREAM CHEESE AND GARLIC BUTTER BAGEL: -- firmer textured bagel -- because it was already filled with goodness there was no reheating at home -- very zesty -- big garlic flavor with some definite bite -- the firm bagel with some cheese and soft butter is a nice contrast -- Since it was pre-cut and filled, I cut off bites where the cuts were and ate it in pieces -- very tasty -- not for the faint of heart given the big-time garlic flavor...you must love garlic to get up in this one...thankfully I am half Italiano, so I am good with it. Seriously, this is a vampire killer. Even for me it is not something I would get every time if I were still local to this area. RATING = A We vetoed beverages in spite of them looking good. We needed to check out of our hotel and only 1-2 associates were making beverages during the near one hour we were there. It's like Portos where you get a staffer to individually grab the items you want on little trays. The texture of these bagels are not firm and semi dry, closer to your typical Asian breads at Asian bakeries where they are softer but firm enough to have a shape. There is cream cheese caked inside the bagels, and depending on your preferences it can go well together or not. My personal favorite was the black sesame bagel bc there was actual black sesame paste inside and enough to be super flavorful in each bite! The matcha pillow was also surprisingly good, but I would try it 50% sweet next time! read more

They didn't have a couple of flavors either. They almost forgot to give me one of the bagels I paid for and a customer ahead actually had to come back in person and tell them they missed putting one in their bag, pretty outrageous. The bagel is honestly not as chewy as to be expected. Favors also didn't stand out. If I were to get one, I'd recommend the mango. Probably won't come back, will only try again in Taiwan. read more

We visited this week on Monday, January 5th. We were very excited to try this place out after seeing a post on TikTok. +savory bagels were definitely the highlight (garlic butter and sour cream and onion) -lots of flavors were unavailable -a big con was reusing the trays to handle each order without wiping them down or changing the paper (especially dangerous if you have food/nut allergies, which my kids do have), we also found a pecan in the cinnamon roll! They've got to fix the cross contamination aspect of the bakery. Finding a pecan in something that isn't labeled as having nuts is extremely dangerous.
