This is my new favorite W Sea spot. We've been here twice and both times I enjoyed the whole experience. Started with good cocktails, good Caesar salad, and good thin Italian style pizza. The pizza sauce is a little sweet, but in a good/unique way. I also love the vibe of this restaurant - it feels like a big community gathering spot with all the tables scrunched close together European style and one big, communal table in the middle where a bit group or multiple parties can sit. Good food, not too fancy - just right for a Friday night pizza fix. read more

Another excellent choice for us neighbors. Regardless of west seattle or Mt. Baker, it was exceptional flavor and choices. Great value.

Happy hour was ok. The Margherita pizza was fresh and the house wine, nice. But, given the money (avg. $15) per course-I wanted more. But, this is West Seattle, and a hot place. So, the place was well represented by locals. And people didn't stop coming in during the dinner hour. It seems to be a steady/popular place. Now, what blew me away? The Cecis. Who knew fire roasted garbanzo beans, mixed with garlic and sage, nourished to a delicious and delectable taste/texture, by adding cayenne for the right amount of heat, could be so fabulous. The waiter's description of it tasting like beer nuts was an underestimate. I walked away with thoughts of flavor pallets to amaze my guest at my next cookout. Put it on a fire roasted pizza, with pancetta, mozzarella and basil. I.E. the clam bake with garbanzo instead of clams. read more

I'm sure this place is pretty good for dining in, but we ordered delivery with DoorDash and it took 2 hours, we were alerted that the pizzas had been picked up at about the 1 hour 45 min mark, and we got it less than ten minutes later, stone cold and crushed. My hunch is the restaurant cooked them when they received the order and let them sit for an hour and a half before they were picked up for delivery. I highly recommend not ordering delivery from here. read more

*This review is only in regards to their online ordering system* I ordered directly through Mioposto website and they claimed that they never received the order even though I have the receipt. They then said that I can reorder and wait over there. This is unfortunately the second time they messed up with my online order. My first order was through Doordash and when I went there to pick it up they didn't inform me that the order was ready so I had to wait for 30 mins. Hopefully they'll fix their online ordering system soon. Food is good though. read more

Caring Owner - all over it! Appreciate the text! Bad Service!! 3rd Visit ... I'm so bummed I really liked this place but they have a serving problem. I originally gave this place a five star but on my second visit did not receive any service it was as if the serving staff were in a fight and no one was going to wait on this one table which is where we were seated. Definitely one of the most awkward visits to a restaurant ever. We waited so long we eventually had to excuse ourselves and leave with no service no one even tried to stop us to apologize. Went for brunch last Saturday and easily got a table. Cute little spot that is super cozy since it has a wood fired oven. I ordered the Shakshuka which was OK - not the best I have had and it was served with chickpeas which seems unusual and it didn't have as much sauce to the dish as I would have liked. They served it with a nice hunk of bread that I wish would have been more crispy - seemed like it was the pizza dough. My friends ordered the breakfast sandwich and breakfast pizza - both of which they thought were fine, not great. The service was delightful though so I think this place could have potential for dinner if you want a wood fired pizza but I can't say it wow'd me for brunch. Loved this place. Really great service, good wine selection, and we got to sit at the pizza bar and watch the magic happen. I forget what it was called, but I had the pizza with the egg on it. They warned me that it was pretty spicy which was courteous, and it was nowhere near too spicy to absolutely enjoy. My fiancé had a pizza with some butter my squash and some other goodies which was really good too (that's the one in the picture.) We had the fresh baked apple dessert - I'm not a big fan of sweets but the few bites I had helped make sense of why it's a house specialty. read more

This is our favorite pizza spot in West Seattle. I love the antipasti platter and sometimes I actually just order that for dinner. My other half is a huge fan of their pizza apple pie dessert which they make in the pizza oven. My favorite pizzas are the Spring Lamb and Zucca Balsamica, but I've enjoyed every pizza we have tried there; except the Egg and Pancetta pizza was a bit too spicy for my tastes. I walk past this pizza place quite often and it always seems busy so today decided to pop in and order takeout. Ordered small beet salad and a pizza. Salad was REALLY disappointing, 85% was outer leaves of lettuce,not salad greens as stated,5 small cubes of beets,tasted more like canned beets than roasted,atiny portion of goat cheese and had to really look for nuts. Dressing in a container,took up lots of space in the container,of salad, should more than likely not be in the container of salad but seperate. DEFINITELY NOT worth $6. plus tax added. Was charged for a bag but food wasn't in a bag!!! Pizza crust was REALLY good and rest of pizza nothing special. Mediocre service. This meal cost me $39. I'm a bit of a pizza snob (OK, I'm a lot of a pizza snob), so I'm always on the lookout for a good pie. And it all starts with the crust, which is a combination of the dough and the heat. There's gotta be a lot of heat. This place nails it. My wife and I stopped in on a random Tuesday night and positioned ourselves at the bar. Darren, an extremely friendly bartender/manager, introduced himself and took great care of us. I started with the barrel aged negroni, which was wonderful, and my wife went for a rose. We started with the ceci, which weren't quite as spicy as advertised until you got to the bottom of the bowl, and the beat salad, which was delicious. But, you go to a pizza joint for the pizza. So let's talk about the pizza! I went with a margherita which, in my opinion, is the best way to judge a pizza. It's easy to make a pepperoni/bacon/sausage pizza, where you can hide other imperfections. Basil, cheese and sauce can't hide much of anything. And it was near perfect. The crust was nice and thin, but still had that perfect give to it. The bottom and sides had the right amount of black char - again, you need lots of heat. And it had just that right pull & chewiness that you want. The sauce was that right balance of acid & sweet. It's probably the best pizza I've had in Seattle. It's certainly pricier than pizza you'll get elsewhere, but there are times when you get what you pay for. This is great pizza! read more

The end of relationships are always sad. We looked forward to eating here again after a great experience last year for dinner. We walked in just as they opened for brunch at 10 AM and saw only one couple seated. They greeted us, brought us water, gave us menus. He ordered the hash and I ordered the Baker. The coffee came right away and drinks remained full throughout our stay. That's where things unraveled. We waited for about 15 - 20 minutes. They brought the hash and he asked for ketchup for the potatoes but was informed that they don't have ketchup, only tomato sauce so he okayed a serving of that instead. We waited. And waited. 5 more minutes and his food began to grow cold. We asked them again for the tomato sauce and after a few more they brought it out. Cold. To go with his now cold breakfast. And still no sign of my Baker. They kept assuring us it was coming. The place now had 5 more parties that arrived after ours and most of them had now been served. At 45 minutes into our visit I gave up. We offered to pay for the coffee which they did not charge and we left, hash uneaten. I'm a very patient customer and I give bad ratings very grudgingly so it's sad to say this location now has the same service issues as its sister location in Mt. Baker and we will not be returning to patronize this chain. Still hungry, we went on to have a flawless brunch at The Bridge south of the Alaska Junction. read more

We've been locals for a long time and only recently started going here. We're not big pizza and pasta people so we tend to avoid Italian places but we now love this place. We go for the meatballs and salads. (And the pizza is yummy). But if you're a couple out in a date, here's the secret- go chill at their back bar. Score! Another wood-fired pizza joint in the West Seattle area. And this stuff is the real deal. I ordered a custom pizza with prosciutto and mushroom. The ultra-thin crust was so crispy with a hint of char from the wood-fired oven. The sauce was light and fresh tasting, and the toppings were all of the highest quality. I really appreciated the crust/sauce/cheese/ingredient ratio. Mioposto is quite generous with their toppings. Some of these other wood-fired pizza places, like Pizza Credo, are pretty stingy with their toppings--you get more crust than anything. That definitely wasn't the case with Mioposto's pizza. And, even with a generous amount of toppings, no one ingredient overpowered another. Parking was difficult, but such is life in the Admiral area these days. The restaurant itself is cute, though small. There was a bit of a wait when we went. However, there was a small bar area which is great for grabbing a drink if you're just waiting for a to-go order. We did have an issue with their wine selection though. I guess because they were still getting their opening kinks worked out, they didn't have the full selection of wine displayed on their menu. Their cheapest glass was $8--a far cry from the $5.50 house pinot grigio listed on the menu. That was a little aggravating. Going along with this, their prices were a little steep as well. That said, given the quality of what we ordered, it's worth the splurge every once and a while. Overall, I definitely recommend giving Mioposto a try. Although they had a couple issues given their recent opening, and despite being on the pricey side, the style of pizza at Mioposto is a nice addition to the other types of pizza West Seattle has to offer. read more

mioposto for brunch is a solid choice because there's plenty on their menu! drinks vary in terms of creative cocktails and tried and true standards but the basil grapefruit gin spritzer i had was quite tasty. in terms of food, you can go towards lunchtime options if you're ordering after 11am, but before that, there's still a respectable choice of sweet and savory dishes. i had the shakshuka and it was so filling i barely ate before dinner time. very good flavor and a lovely bread was served alongside it which i made sure was dipped in the flavorful tomato sauce on almost every mouthful. the service we had was mostly spot on and the prices were reasonable. only reason for one star off was that when we first sat down we weren't ready to order drinks so our server said she'd give us a couple of minutes; it seemed like she got waylaid dealing with other tables and the place was filling up by this point so when she came back to take our order it felt like a lot of time has elapsed. not a deal breaker at all, and everything after that went like clockwork, including the arrival of the bill once we asked for it. read more

The only thing not to like about this recent addition around the Admiral Junction has been the noise level. They have heard the complaints and have added acoustic tiles over the seating areas. Decible levels during our latest visit were reduced with a peak of 96.4 and averages in the high 70s to low 80s while the restaurant was full. One previous visit's high had been 107 with averages in the high 80s. Averages to encourage conversation should be in the low to mid 70s but this is manageable. One still waits outside for a table after about 5:30 and the bar around the open kitchen is better than the TV in a sports bar if you enjoy food prep, which we do. read more

I met a friend who also lives in the area that wanted Italian for dinner. He wanted to go somewhere in Admiral Junction, which I'm glad he suggested, because it's a nice venue change from the Alaska Junction. After carefully reviewing all of the Yelp pages for other Italian restaurants on Yelp (because I'm a foodie!) I suggested we meet at Mioposto instead of Angelina's. I read the reviews about the noise, and I was expecting it and did not bother me that much when I went in there and it was VERY noisy. When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a hostess who said the wait would be 20 minutes or so. Anyone that knows me knows that while I am very accommodating and nice to Bar and Restaurant staff, one thing I do not think is fun or cool is wait for a table when there are a gazillion restaurants with no wait. (I used to live in SF, so I'm a little spoiled that way). I did see that there were a couple 4-top tables that had been cleared, but not wiped down or set. Being a happy hour expert, I am the best at scoping out and grabbing seats as soon as they become available, often by hovering by the bar near the seats or table I see will be emptied soon. I saw there were two patrons by at the bar who had paid their check. I led my friend over there to take the seat when it became available. The hostess came over and said, I am going to seat this couple first who have been waiting, we should have a table ready for you shortly. I said, fine, and continued to hover. The hostess led the couple to a different set of seats at the bar, which is not technically a bar but bar-like seating around the kitchen and wood burning stove. Once the spot I was waiting for cleared, I immediately sat down and so did my friend. A very nice waitress immediately came over and took away the dirty dishes and check. A busser came by with water and cutlery. So far, so good. It was SUPER loud as I expected, and we both had to speak pretty loudly to hear one another. I ordered a gin cocktail and my friend ordered the anti-pasti plate, eggplant, and a glass of white wine. Everything came out pretty quickly. and the portions were good. I agree with the other reviewers that the marinara sauce is a little watery and the flavors could have been developed further. (Such as simmering it longer). The anti-pasti plate was yummy, I really enjoyed the Agrodolce, the goat cheese, and the fresh foccacia roll that came with it. I had my cocktail and mulled over what to order. Since the anti-pasti was so large, and the eggplant dish was veggie, I decided on the meatballs. After we got all of our food I ordered a glass of the house red. My friend's eggplant came with caesar instead of the arugula he asked for when given the option. Things started to go downhill after that. Our waitress disappeared, and we saw that the busser was the only person running the room - clearing tables, bringing out dishes. There was one other fellow who bought one of our dishes to us but it could very well have been the bartender. Anyhow, our dirty dishes piled up, I saw a couple who was seated with their drinks also at the bar whose order was not taken, so they attempted to order from the kitchen staff who were preparing food right in front of them. I saw the hostess tell everyone that walked in that the wait was 15-20 minutes, even a couple who grabbed two open spots at the bar right after they were asked to wait for a table. I saw people pile up at the entrance. There were not benches outside and they had to wait in what little space there was or out on the sidewalk. I started to feel be so impressed and decided to leave after the second glass of wine and suggested to my friend that we leave. I piled up all the plates and asked for a check as the busser ran by. He agreed and then I finally saw our waitress, who was walking out from the back, then looked as if she forgot something, then came over with the bill, apologizing profusely. I was very gracious and let her know it happens, and asked when they opened. A little over a month, she responded. My suggestions for Mioposto's Owner(s): Have your Hostess do more than just seat tables - she can bring out tabs, clear tables, bring water, etc so the busser is not so busy. Let your bar area be self-seating, so that it does not cause confusion for the diners. Install benches and perhaps an awning outside to protect customers for the rain. You need more than one server for your small but crowded restaurant to cover breaks and make sure your guests receive good service through the entire meal. Do something about the noise, it is a little over the top. Overall, my opinion is that an investment of more staff the restaurant would be able to turn over and bus tables faster, so that it is more successful. Even having a manager onsite would help things run more smoothly. I sensed that there was no one in charge. And every restaurant needs to have someone that focused on the overall picture. read more
