Wow, it's been 14 years since my last visit. I'm slapping myself over not coming back to this green in over a decade. Had an exceptional meal that was very homey. Crusty bread with a compound butter. A pear cocktail to die for. A combo of beef ghoulish, chicken paprikash, and stuffed cabbage rolls. My dining partner had stroganoff. Everything was tender and flavorful, and the wait staff was very attentive. Ambiance was relaxed and quiet on the patio. Enough to bring home half of each meal. It was really nice to have something different that was executed so well. I'm not waiting another 14 years to return!!! read more

First of all, I was thoroughly impressed with the outdoor setting and the comfortable arrangement of the dining area. We had never been, but our friends had and suggested we give it a try. We started with the Burek, which was a delightful appetizer, light, yet full of flavor. For the main course, two of us had the combination dinner and the others had beef stroganoff. I was blown away by the combo dinner, 3 delicious Hungarian dishes in one, def recommend! As for the stroganoff, I can say without hesitation, the most savory and well balanced I have ever had, a must try! Lastly, the service was outstanding, our glasses were never empty, staff checked in often, and they clearly knew their menu inside and out. We had a lovely Valentine's Day meal at Miro's. We split the Branzino and the Mediterranean chicken, and then enjoyed the salted caramel ice cream for dessert. All tasted really great. We had already had dinner at another Austrian restaurant in Palm Springs, but realized we had made a big mistake and this was the one we had wanted to go to. We sat very close to the table next to us, we even ended up exchanging phone numbers. The have a condo in Palm Desert, and eat here all the time they said whenever they are in town from Bel Air. They both had the WeinerSchnitzel and said it was delicious, I even had a taste of the one with gravy, it was out of this world! Our server was so congenital and fun to kid around with, will probably ask for him when we return. My friend ordered a few of their specialty drinks, they were great, and I had the apple strudel and latte to be able to drive the 90 miles back home. It was homemade strudel and delcious! My family came here to continue a celebration of life. The restaurant sat us on the side patio so that we could have privacy. The servers ere all super attentive and never missed a beat. Donna and I brought our out-of-town guests to Miro's for their 47th wedding anniversary dinner, and they graciously hosted the occasion. Silver immediately welcomed us and served ice water, which was very welcome given the 96F degree day. Bryan was our gracious server who took drink orders, and suggested a beet salad with mozzarella cheese and micro greens. Our guests described how they wanted a red wine to taste, Bryan gave advice, and, subsequently delivered generous glasses that hit the spot. I ordered gin and tonic without specifying a particular brand name. After dinner, I asked the bartender which gin was served, and she said it was Bombay Sapphire, which was impressive due to the fact that well G and T's are usually made with Gordon's or Burnett's. Beet salads were delicious, as were the cabbage alternatives and the house soup. Main courses included Branzino, Rack of Lamb, Scottish Salmon, and Duck. All came with yummy sides that included a medley of asparagus, yellow squash, and carrots, as well as Yukon Gold, Red Potatoes, or Pesto gnocci. In addition to the attentive service, we enjoyed the soft air of a late winter evening that can only be experienced in Palm Springs. Since discovering this place a few years ago, it has become our go to restaurant for our Palm Springs visits. My wife always has and greatly enjoys the branzino. I've mostly eaten the delicious Mediterranean Chicken. Last night I tried the traditional combo. It's Hungarian, and consists of Chicken Paprikash, Stuffed Cabbage, and Goulash. The first two were excellent. The goulash was sensational and will become my main choice for future visits. Always start with the cabbage salad, which sets the tone perfectly for whatever meal you choose. It, or soup, are included in the price of the meal. I'm a soup person but have to have this dish to start. This place is a true gem. read more

Totally missed the mark. Dined here as a party of two with an 8pm reservation not realizing they close at 9pm. We were hurried through the meal of cocktails, appetizers and main entrees to get us out by closing. I wish they had just been up front about the time constraint so we could've gone elsewhere. About the food: thumbs up to the escargot and croquettes. Unfortunately, the bronzino was greasy and had many bone fragments. The gnocchi was fried and overcooked. The lentil mushroom pasta was tired and bland. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you want to grab a drink and appetizer. read more

Service was so friendly and attentive. This is my second time back and it was just as great of an experience as the first. The restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating, and is dimly lit which I enjoy. They were playing soft classical music as well which was lovely. I can't believe I haven't yet tried this place before now. This place did not disappoint whatsoever. The ambiance was excellent. It's in a strip mall type of location, but a nice older one in a Spanish style with large columns and brick pavers. They have a beautiful courtyard and outdoor dining area with string lights and lush landscaping. As you enter their arched top French doors you are welcomed into an elegant dining room with brick clad walls atop simple wood paneling. Beneath, the floors are dark wood and above are classic round light fixtures suspended, providing just the right amount of light. The menu was fairly easy to read without reading glasses. The acoustics were great too. It wasn't too loud even with other patrons there and they played tasteful music at just the right volume to create the most pleasant atmosphere. The service was good. Our server explained everything well and welcomed us as first timers. They were friendly and attentive. We started with the grilled Spanish octopus. It was served with seasoned, roasted potatoes . I've had octopus at several places and it was by far the most tender here than anywhere else. We also started with the Burek. That was very tasty and hard to compare to anything else. It was savory and had a flakey crust. They also brought out complementary bread with a humus spread that was a nice surprise. I tried the rack of lamb. We ordered it medium. I think I should have gotten it medium well. It was very tasty though. The blueberry sauce it came with reminded me of pancake syrup. I think another sauce might complement it better. The cabbage salad that came with the entree was excellent. It was seasoned so well. I tried the Branzino too with the soup of the day. The soup of the day just tasted like watered down pinto beans from a Mexican restaurant, so get the cabbage salad. The pesto gnocchi was amazing. The crispy yet chewy texture was a real treat with the pesto flavor. Both entrees came with vegetables that were cooked to perfection as well. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Miro's is a Palm Springs classic! A gorgeously romantic dining room with beautiful ambiance (the tables can be a *little* close together, but I think that's supposed to be part of the charm). The patio is beautiful, too! We were seated promptly at our reservation time and the hummus that came out with the bread was so tasty! After a little hiccup with the service (we waited a little over half an hour for anyone to come with menus and take our drink order, even tho tables seated after us were already served - when our server arrived he told us there was a new hostess working out the kinks...) Our wine was excellent (the list is extensive and thoughtful) and the octopus was tasty. Accompanied by a tomato basil soup (honestly - mid...) and the cabbage salad (finely shredded and very garlicy and delicious!) We dined on the salmon (very nice!), the branzino (perfectly cooked!), the schnitzel (so so yummy!) and the stroganoff (luxuriously rich!) The ambiance is really cozy to start with. Very pretty outdoor seating with twinkling lights and shrubbery for privacy. We were greeted by the hostess promptly and the waiter when seated. My husband ordered a saint Bernardus and I ordered the elderflower margarita. Both were delicious. We skipped appetizers since we actually weren't really hungry yet. We both ordered the branzino which is a small sea bass accompanied with sautéed veggies and a pesto crusted potato gnocchi. The sea bass was really tender and delicate. The gnocchi had a nice chew to it. The veggies were actually my favorite part (because I love my veggies) and cooked perfectly al dente. I was only able to eat half my fish, all my veggies and half the gnocchi. The portions aren't huge but I thought a perfect size if you're going to order an appetizer or dessert. It comes with a soup or salad. I ordered the mushroom barley soup which was served piping hot like I like it and my husband ordered the salad which he really enjoyed. I didn't taste it but it appeared to be a shredded cabbage almost like a Cole slaw consistency and the dressing was a light citrus flavor which he enjoyed. We had no room for dessert unfortunately but I would definitely have gotten the crème brûlée had I had room. The staff was very friendly, and attentive. The food was served promptly and hot. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience at a restaurant. Excellent food, excellent service, worth the price!!! read more

The only downside was we were seated outside, and there were quite a few flies with which we had to contend. The atmosphere is wonderful the food excellent and the service superb. One problem that dropped this rating from a 5 to a 3 is the Host/Matradee wore way too much cologne. He bathed in it and it was nauseating. I contacted the restaurant and spoke with them about this but I feel it's important to bring this up here. I can't stand people who wear too much cologne or perfume it's such a distraction if you smell them before you see them and continue to smell them after they are long gone. This is so basic exspecially in a restaurant. read more

Reply to Randy H. of June 2nd....I was also at the same group dinner. I along with 62 other diners attended mentioned clubs outing at Miro's. It was a voluntary event hosted by our group. The price and the menu were presented to the club members before the event. These events are expected to take about three hours for socializing with the other members. The salmon I ordered was exceptionally well-prepared--truly a highlight--and I also thoroughly enjoyed the cabbage salad and dessert. Dining on the patio was delightful, it also gave us room to mingle. Access to the indoor restaurant and bar was unobstructed, and I must add that both spaces were impeccably clean and stylish, featuring a sophisticated European aesthetic. read more

Went with some friends last night. Everything was great. Seated quickly. Hostess and wait staff are very friendly and helpful. My wife had a blueberry cocktail that was perfectly balanced. Started with the tomato soup which was excellent. My wife loved the cabbage salad. I had the pork schnitzel which was huge and incredibly light and tasty. Last min trying to find a place for Christmas dinner. First off, I'm not quite sure what kind of restaurant this was as menu catered to a wide array of dishes. At least we were able to get a table last min. Reservations was towards the end of the evening when we arrive it was quite busy. Like mentioned, menu did have a good selection of the starters and main. We went for the octopus but they were out. Second choice was Burek, quite good. Ground beef with onions inside a puff pasty served with sour cream. Quite flavor which was nice. Main was the rack of lamb which was also a popular choice that night. And the shrimp and scallops Provençal. Both was really tasty and flavorful. Served with all veggies and either a cabbage salad or soup. We tried both, cabbage salad was quite nice with the dressing. After that, didn't have room For dessert so can't report on that. Restaurant itself is beautiful with patio garden seating as well as indoor with a wide array of beautiful artwork on display and for sale. It's location is in a strip mall but sign was hard to notice. Overall, we enjoyed our night and meal. read more

I had a great experience here. I was seated right at my reservation time and was promptly greeted with water and an individual to take our drink orders. For appetizers, I tried the beef rolls and the croquettes both of which were flavorful and just the got amount. The beef stroganoff was smooth and creamy and so tasty. Sorry that I didn't take photos, but both the duck and schnitzel photos on Yelp are exactly what you will get. Very busy tonight indoors and outdoors, but everyone that works there' seems to get along and helps each other. Such a cool environment to have dinner. Table for four. Two branzino, stroganoff, and schnitzel. All had the cabbage salad and raved about fresh cabbage, refreshing notes of garlic in the perfect vinaigrette. Son-in-law descried as best salad ever. Branzino very good- I would have liked a bit more butter. Accompanying veggies: asparagus, broccoli, carrot and squash cooked just right. Mashed potatoes, perfect. Now for the beef stroganoff. Tender beef strips and mushrooms bathed in creamy sauce and surrounded by Yukon mashed potatoes. Delicious and comforting as described by daughter. Hubs had the schnitzel that really stole the show but woe to me has gluten.
