I don't understand how there are not reviews for this place on Yelp! As avid sushi eaters, we took a chance to visit this place recommended by a friend. Well, we are glad we did! From the moment we met Ryan, the GM, who is simply the most gracious and knowledgeable host, to the AMAZINGLY fresh sushi (someone on Google said it best when they said, the fish was so fresh it was almost still swimming!) this place is a hidden gem! I've never had ocean trout sushi (is that even a thing?!) and at Ryan's recommendation, I tried it. It simply melted in my mouth! We ordered two more orders of it. My wife and I were there with our young daughter last week and we saw the reviews on Yelp and thought it worth a go. Upon arrival, we ended up with bar seating with the high chair between us. It was my wife's idea and the staff were accommodating. Pretty much everyone on the staff said hi to us. While I would like to think that it's from my boyish good looks, I'm fairly certain that they were saying hi mostly to my daughter. We started with the calamari and it was excellent. It was lighter than most calamari - I'm unsure if they used panko, but it just didn't feel as "southern fried" as some. My wife doesn't remember the rolls that she got, but she enjoyed them a lot. I got the spicy chef's choice or something like that - it was three spicy rolls. I thought that there were okay, but two were a bit on the bland side. Our desert was (and I apologize for not remembering the actual name) but it was a chocolate brownie-type thing with ice cream and whipped cream. Simply delicious. The staff was fantastic and our place at the end of the bar resulted in a few conversations as both servers, the manager, and the hostess came by to chat. My only other point of note was that there was no baby changing area in the men's bathroom. Nothing like changing a poopy diaper in the trunk of my car. :( That being said, we would look forward to returning on our next vacation here. read more

Have been going to Misaki for 7+ years and I'll never go again. We ordered takeout (4 rolls) at 545pm and was told it'd be ready at 830pm...952pm the order was finally ready. For local sushi, Misaki is very, very good, though better sushi can be had in the Rehobooth area if you're willing to pay. Still, Misaki has some amazingly creative dishes, the food/sushi is great, and service is pretty good. Check out the Teba Gyoza (stuffed chicken wings), which are surprisingly tasty and a Misaki special. All the sushi is good; you can also find non-sushi food like Cream of Crab soup, salads, tempura, filet mignon, and teriyaki. During the off season they have discount sushi nights...20%, I think, which makes it a great deal. read more

This is my go-to place for sushi at the beach. Always consistently good and it's close to where I stay at the beach. It may be a tad overpriced, but hey, there's no tax and it's excellent quality. Only a couple caveats- only open for dinner and during the summer a reservation is practically required for parties of two or more. Used to be great. I heard it changed ownership and it shows... quality has suffered, that's for sure. Seems to be all new wait staff as well. Sea bass entree was lack luster... tiniest piece of fish! I've eaten sushi from over 100 different restaurants. This restaurant definitely had the smallest sushi pieces I have ever eaten. I normally order 6 rolls for my family, we could have easily eaten 10 of this size. And these guys are on the high side of price. Overall sushi taste was decent but I felt like I was cheated Also bought chicken teriyaki here. It was very dry and tasted like leather. There was barely any teriyaki sauce provided and since it was takeout I had to dump a ton of soy sauce into here. read more

This place is an amazing little secret and I debated for a long time whether or not to review it as I don't want it even more crowded then it already can be. But I can't keep secrets very long - especially when it comes to great restaurants. I have been lucky enough to eat sushi all over the place from NY to Maui, Vail to Aruba, London to Santorini and this place is on the top of my list. If you want specialty fish, fresh as it gets - go here. Do not be intimidated by the strip mall location and dive restaurant appearance from the parking lot. We enjoyed this restaurant last year, but heard that it changed ownership since then. We were terribly disappointed with our take out order. Extremely high prices for very small portions. The tiny rolls of sushi were passable... the fish did not have much flavor and did not seem fresh. The tempura was soggy and flavorless, sitting atop a thick layer of oil. The thick ginger dressing on the salad (which is always a favorite of our group) was more of a thin, oily vinaigrette. Sadly we will have to find a new sushi place when we stay in Bethany next summer. read more

Yokozuna used to be my favorite sushi place in Ocean City... (until I discovered OC Wasabi) however, I have been told that the previous owners or chef's from Yokozuna (not sure which ones) are now at Misaki....and I have been here with friends and found the sushi to be excellent and the decor and service to be great. It's too bad that it's not closer to where I am in Berlin but it is definitely worth the trek. A bit expensive, but not at all unexpected for bethany. read more

Misaki is a must on each of our visits to Bethany. We have plenty of sushi options in the DC-area where we live, but this place is really exceptional. I won't go into long descriptions of the food, etc. I'll just say that if you're a fan of Japanese cuisine, do yourself a favor and give it a try. ordered 2 nights for takeout. smallest rolls ever. i had generic stuff the first time and some of their special rolls the second time. the sushi was good but 14$ for 5 pieces of a tiny "special" maki roll... unimpressed. too bad there aren't really any other sushi restaurants in the area. read more

While this restaurant has the only sushi in Bethany, and is fairly decent, the service is slow, inconsistent and the staff is downright rude. We called and asked to order take out on a Friday evening and were told they could not accommodate our order, and that we were one family of many who would like to be served, and this was not an option. We spoke with the mother-in-law of the manager, who refused to give her name and was not helpful in offering any alternatives to placing an order at that time. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience that will keep us and family friends away. We'll save sushi for when we're back in DC, where the quality is much higher and service is sophisticated. read more

Everything about this place begs, "please may I have some more"?! The tuna samba is my favorite appetizer which includes tuna tar tar, fresh crab and the perfect amount of spicy sauce to bind. The beauty? They serve with crispy triangular won ton chips which add the perfect dynamic to an already outstanding dish. Their rolls are fresh, amazing and unique. Service is warm and friendly. If you're looking for sushi near Bethany and Fenwick, this is definitely your place. From the looks of it being in the strip mall you wouldn't think this place would be excellent but it was. Awesome sushi and service. Only downside is most of their rolls are on the spicy side, but you can always request it without. Place gets busy make sure you make a reservation. read more

let me start by saying this review was originally a 1 star. But that quickly changed. We had made reservations for 7:45 on a Friday. When we arrived the new hostess made a mistake and didn't mark us down however the Owner Ryan came over and made it all Good!!!! The food at this place was amazing, you cant go wrong with anything on this menu.however as a recommendation try the Seafood Caspachio. Wow!!!!! So this was our second time trying it... We wanted to give it a second try because so many people rave about this place. However, the fact that they have about 12 tables and only take reservations is sort of crazy. I guess I get it if you know about the place, however everyone else who doesn't is essentially unable to eat until 845pm when there are open tables. So we ended up getting food to go. We ordered 3 rolls, the sashimi dinner, and a tuna salad appetizer. So while we were waiting we were trying to figure out this reservation idea because about half of the tables were open in the restaurant but no one was allowed to sit at them (which is dumb if you are the restaurant and want to make money). The reservations seemed to be made almost every hour and a half, and open "reserved" we're for people that were set to come in an hour later! The staff admitted to saying the sushi chefs could not make sushi that fast therefore no one could sit there. So the sushi chefs couldn't make sushi for two people in an hour... Just so odd. Maybe if the restaurant was huge I would understand. But there is only 12 tables! If that! And only half of them had people at them! So we watched as we waited for our food (about 30 mins) as they turned away customers who didn't have reservations, and still has plenty of empty tables. The people at the front were also dressed very casually and kept giving everyone different information, it was sort of a turn off because it seemed like real management didn't exist there. Anyways, then we get our sushi. I will post the picture. It was pretty looking, I guess. But then again for 90 dollars I would hope 3 rolls and some sashimi would look like gold. Yeah, no. The sushi rolls were extremely small, with little on the inside. Most of the fish was what you could see on the outside. Our tuna salad was basically an entire avocado with 4 pieces of Tuna which I would not recommend. It was a little fishy and I didn't just want a slab of avocado. The rolls were pretty tastey but that's all we got a small taste. Our dinner was shared between 4 people. We went and got Chinese after. I guess if you are absolutely craving sushi you would go here because there is basically no where else to go, but I would recommend waiting until you make it back to wherever you live, or take the trip to Rehobeth. Make sure you make a reservation, be prepared to pay a pretty penny, and leave hungry. read more

I am used to NYC style/quality sushi and you can expect food on par with higher end restaurants. The only down side is the front desk staff.
