I love coming here every time! Service is great and the food is awesome! I totally recommend this place!

My wife and I love sushi and usually go for lunch first to get a feeling for the place. We always ask for recommendations or look for well reviewed places and give them a try. After months of the "same" style sushi (not bad, not outstanding but still sushi) because even underwhelming sushi is still a good meal in my opinion we were expecting the same. This place just floored me with the quality and flavor of the sushi. We ordered (way to much) the salmon lovers roll and each ordered a lunch special. Without going into all the detail the rice was flavorful and sturdy, the fish was thick and melt in your mouth tender the balance between fish and rice was really spot on. Honestly looked like some of the sushi that you would see in a documentary on sushi chefs. read more

When it comes to Korean food, I am the last person you want to ask, but damn, this place was pretty awesome. The house dumplings kind of fell apart and hard to handle, but they were delicious. I was suffering a hangover so I went with the Phillip B. tried and tested remedy: kimchi soup. Omaigaaaaaa it was perfect. It came in a simmering clay pot and the fumes warmed up my face in a very comforting way. Ummmm, why isn't anyone raving about their ramen?!?!? Hubs had the miso ramen and I thought it was Rick Flair "WOO!!" Next time I go to IKEA, this is going to be my go-to spot. read more

My boyfriend and I came here tonight and waited almost 20 minutes for an appetizer (which wasn't that great), had to ask another server to order, had to ask several times for water because they wouldn't get them for us, server barely came to table, had to ask for check, chicken was dry.... wouldn't come again! read more

First time eating at Miso, been on the list for awhile. He ordered the pork bulgogi & I ordered the kimchi bacon fried rice - both tasted great. Loved that the egg on the fried rice was sunny side up, so you can break it, reminded me of the fried rice I used to order when I was station in Korea. Great menu, something for everyone. Prices are very fair considering the amount of food. I liked their take on seaweed salad. The soft tofu soup had good flavor and the tofu was so creamy. Service was really attentive and the inside of the restaurant didn't feel like the strip mall where it was located. Well done! Miso is very enjoyable. They have a Korean and Japanese mix of food. Nice sushi menu, prompt service, great K-Pop. It's never very busy when I come in the evenings but I truly hope it picks up. This has become one of my favorites. The Galbi is perfectly charred with great texture and an abundance of flavor. Fried rice is really good also with chunky vegetables. Kiss me roll is a favorite of my wife, but ONE time we came and they didn't have cream cheese. Definite bummer. The waiter did say they'd run to the store to grab some but it was still disappointing. The first time we came I wanted water with lemon and it took a very long time and numerous asks to get it, but the server was very apologetic. The menu's don't really match the ambiance as they are sheets of cars stock paper stapled in the corner. The server could step the dress up just a notch as well to round out the feel of the place. Overall, come here if you haven't. Try the Galbi and the bulging, and the fried rice. Ask for it vegetarian. read more

We were excited to try this place but were extremely unimpressed. The food was just alright and for the price it wasnt worth it. It was bland and we've had much better. The service was even less impressive as we were not even provided with waters even after asking. The waiter was rushed and rude. He would walk away while we were trying to talk to him. Well the wife and I went to Miso last night to try it out. It was nice inside and we had good service. We ordered the shrimp and vegetable teriyaki appetizer, it was good. Overall the sushi here is just okay. The portion sizes for both the nigiri and rolls are pretty small, but mostly the fish seems fresh. However, the reason I'm giving them this very low rating that they deserve, is because they intentionally try to DECEIVE their customers! I ordered the yellowtail nigiri, and what I received instead was escolar. Maybe they were out of it, and they don't think that we're smart enough to know the difference...but I eat sushi multiple times every month, and there is no way that I can't tell the difference between yellowtail and escolar. I HATE when sushi restaurants do this (similar to the BS when many of them claim that escolar is "super white tuna" or even just "white tuna" in some places). This review is solely based on the food I ate. I was a bit leary with this place to serve both Japanese and Korean food. I was in the mood for Korean Galbi. The portion size was huge to have left overs. The Galbi was grilled to perfection. The sauce had a hint of sweetness with overpowering the overall flavor. Awww yeah!!! This place is simply wonderful. They have legitimate traditional dishes, a collection of fusion items, impressive sushi art, and the lunch specials- oh man the lunch specials!! I stuck to the bibimbap for now, but I feel compelled to make the 20 mile drive more often so that I can try everything else on the menu. The lunch dolsot bibimpbap was incredible- the food was all right on, but the portions were even more impressive. For 10ish dollars, I got a regular standard sized bowl of bibimbap, 4 banchan, a large bowl of kimchi soup, AND a salad to start with. I have eaten at every Korean place in Austin, and I can tell you that this is the best bang for your buck. By the time I got to my bibimbap I was full, and was able to take it home and get another meal out of it. And the taste and quality of the food I was served was top notch. I almost wish I lived in Round Rock so that I could go more often. (Almost). read more

The food here is good, my only knock is that it appears that there is only one waiter all the time. I've been here twice now and both times there has only been one guy the same guy. Sometimes you have to physically get up and get his attention. He is good but when it's gets a little busy it can be annoying. The music is really loud in the bathroom lol. read more

I wish I could write a more positive review, especially since everyone seems to love this place so much! I adore Korean food and was looking forward to a place with banchan, but the service here was awful and the food was just so-so. I had the yakisoba and it was just all right. There didn't seem to be any vegetarian entree options at all, which is disappointing. A few of the appetizers look like they might be vegetarian. Our server was clearly overworked with no help and the kitchen was very slow. The biggest issue was that after waiting so long for food, there was a bug in one of our dishes. I know that it happens sometimes, but it definitely dulls your appetite. Maybe we'll try it again one day. Please hire more staff and get some vegetarian options! read more

Came to this place at least twice & I love the food! It's a family restaurant & has a open kitchen and a small sushi bar. Ordered the kimchi jjigae & sushi when I came for the first time and both of it was amazing! The only small problem is that this place always seems understaffed~ Second time, I ordered to go & was told my miso ramen would take 30 mins because it was a Saturday night and packed! Got there around 7 and the waiters were frustrated because of the crowd of people. Ended up waiting 40 mins for just ramen but the waitress gave me 20% off my order because of the long wait! I wouldn't order the miso ramen here again. The "ajitama" was a normal hard-boiled egg with no seasoning. Pork cutlets were a little chewy. Noodles nothing special. I think this is mainly a Korean restaurant (kimchi came with the ramen which was actually quite yummy) so I'd suggest trying that side of the menu instead. read more

We're so happy we found this place. As vegetarians, it can be difficult finding interesting sushi. It can be done, it has been done but it's not easy to find. We typically get the ol' avocado or cucumber roll option. But we were very pleased to find that we had many options here!!! And they were all delicious and fresh. Also, we were the only ones in the restaurant and we kept having to wave down the waitress. She was too busy on her phone to be bothered by her only table. Need to order after sitting for 10 minutes? Wave down the waitress... Have an empty glass in front of me that needs to be filled? Wave down the waitress... What is she doing? Texting, facebooking or looking at memes on her phone. Need more water? Wave down the waitress... Need a box? Wave her down again... Need a check? Should have just brought it with the box, gotta wave her down again... The owner of this place needs to make the employees leave their phones in their car. Wanted sushi and more and decided to give this place a try. The dinner portions are huge and they bring out a lot of food. So me and my family drive about 40 minutes from Killeen to eat here regularly. I favorite sushi roll is the dragon roll, but that all changed this last weekend. I ordered a dynamite roll. This roll was Devine, from its presentation to every mouth watering drop, this roll is my new favorite. Highly recommend to anyone in the area trying to get there hands on some awesome sushi, you won't be disappointed. read more

It's a new place and I've been there three time already. I grew up eating Korean food at home and still eat Korean food at least a few times a week. I really enjoyed Miso and I especially appreciated the fresh ingredients they use and you can tell from the taste. Great value lunch menu and great food in general for dinner too. Food was fantastic, service could've been more attentive towards the customer seeing how there was only two other customers. But let's talk about the food. The calamari was great, loved the coating. Unagi donburi was pretty good, was kinda thrown off by the lettuce haha. The beef yakisoba was surprisingly good and had plenty of meat. LOVED the Dragon Roll. So simple yet so good. This is my favorite sushi in Austin. I stopped here before meeting someone at Gold's (same shopping center) and was super happy with the food and presentation. I ordered tuna and salmon nigiri (off menu). The tuna came with a little tobiko on top and the salmon with a small slice of avocado on it. I also got some beef bulgogi which came with rice and 5 other sides. I love everything about this place. read more

Often, when a place serves both Korean and Japanese food, it is generally a Korean place that serve Japanese food to cater to the gringos who don't know how amazing galbi and dolsot bibimbap are. Not so here: this is one of the very few places in greater Austin (as of 2015) that has the knowledge and proficiency to serve a proper okonomiyaki, a dish I despaired of finding in the States. Ambience is quick-serve, which is weird because the wait and cuisine is more like a sedate sit-down. So there's something to consider: this isn't the place for a fast meal, but this is a place for a *good* meal. Now you know: if you have a party that can't decide whether they want cuisine from one side of the Tsushima Strait or the other, you can split the difference and come here. read more

I like this place because they have japanese and korean food. I tried few of the korean food and some sushi and they were all good. I do agree this place have one of the best port katsu. I never had a bad food here yet which means alot. This place is not a traditional korean or japanese restaurant. It's more of fusion between korean and japanese restaurant which is perfect for me. Tried to come in for a snack with my husband at 9:40pm, keep in mind they close at 10pm. When we walked in the servers had that dreadful look on their faces that said "DANG! But I still Asked for a menu and was then told the kitchen closes 15 mins prior to close. Hmmm.....so I asked your sign says you close at ten. The young lady replied we do but the kitchen closes at 9:45pm. I replied it's 9:40 and you actually close earlier than advertised am I correct? ..........blank stare....followed by silence. Wow! I do have to say the service left something to be desired but they were short staffed so I will give them that. I tried the red mountain roll and it was to die for! I had the Galbi and the Sumonono Salad. I will come back here to try some of the other Korean dishes. I miss the spicy tofu stew I used to get so I am hoping this place replaces that here in Austin. The eel and shrimp spring rolls were light and a great starter to the meal. The eel was very unique and tasty with eel sauce for dipping. The shrimp one had a light spicy mayo sauce instead of the usual heavy peanut sauce. Quite good! We had beef bulgogi, spicy pork bulgogi, and jap chae for our entrees. Each of the was perfectly cooked and flavored. The bulgogi dishes were tender and moist while the jap chae noodles were perfectly done and the vegetables still crispy and meat tender.
