It looks like this place changed ownership and is completely different than it was before. Sadly all the Korean dishes are gone and have been replaced with typical pan-Asian fare like teriyaki, katsu, fried rice, American style Chinese. The portions are quite generous and the teriyaki was well charred and flavorful. I'm still happy to have this place in the neighborhood as a local option, but it's a shame all the unique Korean flavor is gone. read more

Compared to other korean food places, it's pricier and there aren't as many side dishes but you should still come here to support small family own businesses! There was only 1 chef but we didn't mind waiting. The galbi was sweet and portion was decent. The soft tofu soup was good though I think the broth was not rich and sweet. Miso is a small cute Korean restaurant with a variety of dishes. There are about 4 parking stalls in the front. We ordered fried rice, 2 different tofu soups, spicy pork and seafood pancake for lunch. The girl at the counter was very sweet. They do not accept cash so bring your cards! It took a while for the food to come out but it looks like there is one ajumma cooking everything alone. Banchan consisted of shoyu potato, Kim chee, bean sprouts and macaroni salad. Our food came out in a timely manner and everything was delicious. Prices were kinda on the high side but we enjoyed our meal. We were the only ones seated there for dine in on a Tuesday but they did have several take out orders picked up. Love supporting local businesses!! read more

Came in on a Saturday and was greeted right away by the friendly owners. We went with the Tofu Soup, Japche & Kalbi. We wanted to try their Korean Fried Chicken, but they were out. We chose our seats & shortly after, we were served cups and a jug of water. We were quite happy about the jug since we drink a ton of water! Then came the Japche (noodles). It was still steaming from the wok. The tofu soup was bubbling all the way to our table. The first sip I took, I was in love. The kalbi was next! The flavor and the tenderness made me say, I'm definitely coming back for more. The banchan (side dishes) were simple but all delicious. The service was great! Overall food and experience, 5 stars! Located in the former Wanna Burger and Teriyaki storefront, Chef Korea Miso is a casual Korean place that just opened in late September 2023. It's a welcome addition to Highland Park/White Center, where there aren't many Korean options! We stopped in on opening day for dinner. The menu is somewhat small but has the basics: bibimbap (not dolsot), bulgogi, soondobu, japchae, tteokkbokki and even Korean fried chicken. They also have teriyaki chicken, probably to avoid the wrath of people who come in expecting the previous teriyaki joint! The inside looks nice and clean and has been freshly repainted. There are a few tables to sit and eat, but it looked like most people (including us) were getting takeout. It looks like a mom-and-pop place run by a small family, and the guy behind the counter was friendly and pleasant. I got the spicy pork soondobu ($15), and it was pretty hot! A solid 3-star spice level for sure. It came with rice and two banchan - kimchi and cucumber kimchi. It was a large portion and a good value for the price. My dining companion got the bulgogi chef box ($25), which was like a bento box with salad, rice and two banchan. He finished his easily and said it didn't feel like it was worth the price. The quality was fine, not the best, but I recognize that they're brand new and want to give them some time to work out the kinks. In general, the prices do seem high - you could pay the same prices for a really good sit-down place in Lynnwood or Federal Way AND get lots more banchan! But the soondobu, dupbop rice bowls, and bibimbap are all in the $15-ish range, which feels right for casual takeout. This would be a good place for a quick lunch, and I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu. read more

We were so happy to see this place open in the neighborhood! As soon as we could, we went in to check it out. I do want to start by explaining right up front the reason I'm giving it three stars and not more. While a lot of the menu items seemed self-explanatory (like "Grilled vegi salad"), a lot were not at all (like "Dduboki"). Maybe a lot of folks already know what to expect when ordering Dduboki or Japchae or Bibimbob or Dupbop, but surely we're not the only ones who have no idea what those things are. And the chalk drawings on the menu didn't really help. So we were at bit of a loss for what to order. I tried to ask for more information on a couple of things, but the person who helped us didn't seem to understand what I was asking, so since I had seen a photo of the crispy pancake online, we ordered that. On the plus side, that pancake was really good! Hopefully everything on the menu is just as tasty, because we'd really like to go back and try a few more items. But I'd really encourage the owner to provide either photos, or some kind of description that clarifies what to expect from the various dishes, or I'm afraid people may give up when they can't figure out what to order. If not, they are restricting their clientele to people who are already familiar with the cuisine, and surely they'd benefit from a wide audience, especially in such an out-of-the-way location. read more

Tried this place a week after they opened. I couldn't wait because I have been wanting a Korean restaurant in the neighborhood for years. Seeing Pajeon on the menu got me super excited and it did not disappoint! Also tried the tofu soup - I requested mild on the advice of the cashier and it was still spicy enough to clear my sinuses, but mild enough to be able to taste the broth. Items are a little pricey but worth it since it saves me gas and time - don't need to go to the ID/Lynnwood/FedWay now when I have a sudden craving. Service was quick and the complimentary tea was much appreciated. It's a great quick lunch or takeout dinner spot and I hope they stick around! read more

My mother is Korean and I miss mom cooking from time to time and before her stroke I would just have her feed me. After, I generally have to drive to Lynnwood or Federal Way for good Korean. I live in West Seattle and when I heard there was going to be a Korean restaurant, I was a little skeptical. But Friday I ran and grabbed Bibimbap. I am a very happy girl. The banchan was almost as good as mom's and ajjumma was very sweet, her English is limited so don't think she's being rude. Go and try the food. It's like having a big hug. read more

I love finding mom and pop restaurants especially when travelling. This one is for sure one of those! I really loved this place as it is literally full Korean style cuisine, and on top of that the bonus is seeing that the son is taking the orders and the mom is in the kitchen making the food. Me and my friends wanted something close within the area he lives and I wasn't expecting such a fun little authentic korean place to be in the middle of no where Seattle where it is all residences only. The good thing is that everything is perfectly spicy and I was extremely satisfied. It wasn't that sweet spicy or that white people just colour spicy, it was that HOT HOT. My friend ordered that Tofu Sundubu, and it was BOILING hot! I can see it came right off the stove still boiling and the delicious tofu and the spice still mingling and cooking in that little black pot. I love that they cooked it extremely fresh and it was right there off the stove. It truly gives me that homey vibe. That is a win for me. That night I got a bibimbap, and I was just craving for some Korean Fried Chicken as well. Their BBP was delicious and had 3 basic ban chan with it. The Potatoes, Kimchi and Daikon, it was perfect for me to just mix in the BBP and on top of that they brought out a whole squirt bottle of gochujang and I was so happy. I could mix it to my taste and I can make it extremely custom to myself. The great thing was that I could put the KFC on top of my BBP and just eat it all together! I really like their breading mix on the KFC. It was so special, it was like a mix of some type of deep fried chips and then mixed with the bredding and with the gochujang. It was delicious and it wasn't that expensive either for the rest of the night. It was worth for that KFC and that Tofu Sundubu. I want to come back here during the winter times just to get a good tofu soup and that KFC~! Very cute restaurant and I do recommend this place to visit if you are in the area. read more

Have eaten here twice in the last couple of weeks. It is a little expensive but it's good. The Tteokbokki (ddukbokki) is the best dish there. Super flavorful. Have tried the Bulgogi, japchae, original KFC, soft tofu soup and crispy pancake. All of it was good. The japchae is light on flavor and the soup is spicy but has great flavor. I really enjoy Korean food and I very much enjoy mom and pop shops. However I was a bit disappointed when I came. Inside was very cold and quiet with Christmas decorations still up in March. The menu was a bit confusing to hard to read in chalk but that's okay. I love bimbap and got the beef bimbap. I liked the beef flavor itself but the rest of it was cold. Usually the rice will be hot with hot beef and cold toppings. Although I am used to getting sides they said that it did not come with the bimbap. I was confused as other people's reviews and photos showed otherwise. They said it would be extra. But when I said that I was okay paying more they then told me they didn't have any sides. That was really disappointing as they just opened, and It seemed like they backpedaled. Overall I found the price point to be high for the quality and limited availability. I am okay with a higher price point for mom and pops if the service and quality are met. I felt disappointed in my food and ended up leaving before finishing. I would recommend Mamas Kitchen (which is pretty good food wise, but service lacking) in Factoria, or maybe just going to Stone instead. We really enjoyed our dishes from Miso. We got the bulgogi and LA short ribs chef boxes. The meats were cooked perfectly and both tasted excellent. I liked the apps as well - gyoza and fried prawns. I thought the kimchi was too spicy but my husband liked it a lot. Only wished it came with 1-2 more banchans for the price. We'll definitely be back to try the other items. Flavor was great, but the Seafood Soft Tofu Soup was more tofu and less seafood. We also got the Spicy Pork Bulgogi and the rice cakes which were both tasty. I'm really excited to _finally_ have some real Korean food in the West Seattle area, however the price for the food is a bit high compared to other Korean restaurants. At the time of writing the soup was 17$, the spicy pork was 22$ and the rice cakes were 17$. The size of the rice cakes was smaller than excepted for that price and the pork price was more than I'd expect though decent amount there. Overall, would recommend but expect to pay a bit more than if you went more into the city or down to Federal Way. read more

I'm not one to review but I got really frustrated due to the amount of time I lost. My order was wrong. I ordered spicy pork that comes with rice and 3 side dishes. And I got 2 rice and 2 (3) side dishes. I went to the restaurant and was told there was a mixed up and it was only going to take a couple of minutes. The beef soft tofu soup (soondubu) was absolutely delicious! Really large chunks of soft tofu and super flavorful broth and tender beef. The ban chan (side dishes) had two of my favorite things: kimchi and fish cake! And the kimchi was exactly how it should be. Not from a jar at the store-- clearly homemade and perfectly spicy with a touch of that fish/umami flavor. I'd love it if they eventually added more side dishes, but I'm not complaining if they don't. The woman who rang me up and cooked the soondubu was very kind and got super happy when she saw I ate all of the kimchi, and offered me more which I ate. She was so sweet, and clearly took pride in her food and restaurant. I'm so glad there's a Korean restaurant in the area now, and I don't have to drive all the way to Federal Way! Diamond in the rough. This is at the old Zippy's burger across from the fire station. Owner and outstanding Chef. They are so friendly and outgoing. The kimchi is amazing. For a smaller, boutique shop, they have a very broad selection of authentic Korean dishes. I had the Bi Bim Bap because I didn't have time to stay and try all of the panchan. It's just as good as leftovers too! I will definitely going back for the Soon Do Bu and Japchae. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. It's nice to have some amazing Korean food in West Seattle close to where I live. read more
